Dear Reader,

When writing this book, I wanted to explore some of the issues surrounding trust, judgment and justice. Angelina had to testify against her father after witnessing a murder. But she also struggled with her feelings about that part of the man that wasn't an organized crime lord but simply a dad.

Sometimes the people that hurt us most can be found inside our own families. Although they're not trying to kill us like the characters in this story, they may have hurt us deeply just the same. I believe no one is all bad. It is the good part of that family member that is loved.
