Loki looked first at Brodie, then at Celestina and said, “Truly, you want me?”

Brodie said, “Aye, lad, naught would make us happier than having you as our son. That is, if you want us.”

Loki let out his best imitation of a Grant war whoop and jumped into Brodie’s arms.

“Aye. I am no longer lucky Loki.”

Puzzled by his declaration,
Celestina looked at him as he hopped down and ran to her side to hug her.

“I am Loki Grant
,” he said with a grin.

THE END

Dear Reader,

Thank you so much for reading
Love Letters from Largs
! If this was your first Keira Montclair novel, I appreciate your willingness to try a new author. If not, thank you for returning to find out more about Clan Grant. Either way, I hope you enjoyed the read! I strive to deliver unique and emotional stories in each of my novels.

I loved
writing about Brodie and Celestina because their bond is so steadfast and true. You don’t often read about love at first sight, but this was almost the case for this couple. I know Celestina’s background might be difficult for some readers. I do write about abused women, not because of the abuse, but to chronicle their journey as they heal. I am sorry if this offends anyone, but if you read my book blurbs, you will know which stories include abuse.

You will often find
children in my stories because I love them so dearly. I hope you liked reading about Lucky Loki as much as I liked writing about him! He was one of those delightful characters who instantly sprang to life for me. You can expect him to show up again somewhere in my future work.

I love to hear from
my readers and I also value your opinions. There are several ways you can let me know what you think:

  1.
Write a review on Amazon or Goodreads:
Please consider leaving a review. They can really help an author, particularly one who is self-published as I am. I don’t have a marketing department or an advertising team backing me. Any reviews are appreciated, and yes, I do read them all. If you didn’t like the novel, then please offer constructive criticism so I can improve. Angry responses do not help me and I ignore them. You do not need to use your real name for Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Goodreads. These reviews are also helpful for other readers.
  2.
    Send me an email at

    . I promise to respond

You’ll see how I envision Brodie Grant, though the model’s hair is a bit too short. But I think you will agree with me that he is quite nice to look at…

Once again, thanks for reading!

Author’s Note

This is a novel of fiction, a historical romance novel, and as such, all the events are not true nor are the names.
Some characters are true to the period: King Alexander III, his steward Alexander of Dundonald, the Earl of Menteith as the Sheriff, and King Haakon of Norway, the Boyds and the Mures. The Grants and the Ramsays are fictitious as is the claim that the Grants are the largest clan in the Highlands.

Many of the details of the time period and the Battle of Largs are also true according to my research. The Battle of Largs was not a decisive victory, but was the battle that sent the
Norwegians back to the Northern Isles. The treaty that returned the Western Isles to the Scottish crown wasn’t signed for three more years.

I tried to keep the details of the actual battle as true as possible. The
Norsemen fought from two locations. The Scots fought from horseback and on foot with many different weapons. There was actually one Scottish fighter well known for his prowess in battle. I modeled Alex Grant after this fighter except for one small detail, the Scot died in battle. Fortunately, this is fiction so I could keep Alex alive for a few more novels in the Clan Grant series.

And yes, there were slingshots used in the Battle of Largs, but lucky Loki is my own creation.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to Ayrshire, Scotland! If you haven’t guessed yet, my next two novels will come from this same time period. First will be Robbie’s story, and then, for all the readers who fell in love with Quade Ramsay’s brother, Logan’s story.
