Chapter One

Jenny

Mom kisses my cheek before stepping back and smiling at me. “You look so beautiful, baby girl.”

Dad says I look just like just like you did on the day the two of you got married.” When he said it, just a few minutes ago, I cried big fat ugly tears. There is no bigger compliment than being compared to my mother. In my eyes, she’s the most beautiful woman in the world.

She shakes her head.
“Oh no, sweet heart. I’ve never looked this gorgeous in my life.”

Bullshit,” Kristen says as she reaches over to straighten my veil. “You look just your mom did that day. The only difference is Julie didn’t have tattoos running up and down her arm.”

She eyes the offending art work before stepping back.
When I first started getting ink, I thought for sure crazy Kris would love them. I was wrong; dead wrong. She’s all for the pink streaks in my hair, but permanently inking my body was a no go for her.

I think they are just as beautiful as the rest of you,” Aunt Bethy says as she reaches for me and runs her hand down my bare arm.

Bethy was another surprise.
Where I thought she would find the tattoos tacky, she ended up loving them; loving them enough to get one of her own. A year later, she now sports one on each wrist, covering the scars that remind her of days better forgotten. There’s a beautiful rainbow running across her back, with lyrics from an old song by some band called Seether curling around the colors. She also has another one but refuses to show it to me. She says it’s for Uncle Brandon’s eyes only.

Come on, girls,” says Dad as he walks into the room, halting all talk of my tattoos.

Mom turns to him in an instant, her eyes tearing up.
“Can you believe our baby is getting married?”

No, I’m not,” Jamie says, strutting into the room. “The old maid is getting married, not the baby.”

Shut up, punk,” I say then send my fist flying into his shoulder. “I’m twenty-two. That’s not old.”

My brother rolls his eyes as only a twelve year old can.
“You’re almost twenty-three. That’s only eight years from thirty.”

Screw you,” I say, saluting him with my middle finger.

Cut the shit, kids,” Dad orders through a laugh before pulling my arm around his. “It’s time to get this party started.”

He leads me out the door, and the others follow.
I can feel Mom tugging on my dress as Bethany rearranges a loose curl on the back of my neck. “Give it up, guys. If I’m not ready now, I’ll never be.”

You look fine,” Jamie says as he stomps past.

If anyone else had said that I look fine today, I would
’ve laid them out, but that was one of the best compliments my brother has ever given me. It’s not that Jamie is rude; he just isn’t much for the mushy stuff. He’s fine with telling me I did an amazing job on rebuilding the engine on whatever car we’re working on that week, but giving me a real compliment, that was like pulling teeth for him. “Thanks, bro.”

He looks over his shoulder as he continues on ahead of me.
“Welcome, sis.”

As we approach the back door of Pop
’s shop, I can hear the music already playing. Daddy stops and looks behind him. “Get on out there, ladies. Tell them our girl is ready.”

They walk past, each with tears in their eyes, heading into the field behind the garage.
I had to listen to a lot of bitching from Mom when I told her I wanted to be married behind the shop, but when I explained that I wanted Pop here with me, and this was the only way I could think of making it happen, she gave in without another word. I know she misses him as much as I do, and she understood that I needed to be close to the place he loved the most.

He’s here, you know.” Daddy says, smiling down at me.

I
’ll never understand how he seems to read my mind. “I think he is.”

Mom’s here too, Sweet Pea. I know you didn’t know her, but I swear she would’ve loved you so much.”

I know she did. Pop told me so every day.”

His smile turns sad before he bends down and places a feather light kiss on my cheek.
“I am so proud of you, girl.”

I
’m about to respond when I hear the music change to the gentle hum of
Free Bird
by Lynyrd Skynyrd, my wedding song. “It’s time.”

He nods then clears his throat while emotions play across his face.
“Yeah, it is.”

Chapter Two

MATTY

Holding Kristen closely, I sway back and forth to the music, remembering our wedding day. We said our I dos in front of an Elvis impersonator during a drunken night in Vegas two months before Julie moved back to Cromwell. The next morning, she was determined to get an annulment. She claimed it was a mistake, and that she wouldn’t let me ruin my life by being married to someone I didn’t love.

I was just as determined to keep her by my side, telling her I had secretly loved her for years. Of course, she didn
’t believe me. We fought about it for over a year, neither of us budging and both of us keeping it a secret, before I finally blurted out the truth in front to my Pop. Thank God, I did. He was able to talk her into giving me a chance to be a real husband and not just a drunken mistake. Nearly thirteen years later, we’re still going strong.

I wish I had been able to give her a wedding like this, one that she would have wonderful memories of, but instead, all she has is a picture of us posing in a pink Cadillac. I
’ve tried to talk her into renewing our vows, but she refuses. I shake that thought away, knowing she wouldn’t trade our wedding pictures for anything.

I stare across the makeshift dance floor at my niece, Jenny, dancing with her new husband.
They said their vows over two hours ago, and the douche bag is still grinning from ear to ear. Shit, I guess I can’t call him that anymore. Unless… A laugh escapes as I think of the look on Jenny’s face when she comes back to work.

What are you laughing about, babe?”

I was just thinking about Jenny’s new name.”

She pulls her head away from my chest and looks at me.
“What’s so funny about Jenny Higgins?”

I chuckle, still letting it run around in my head.
“That’s not it.”

What the hell are you talking about?”

I’m christening her Mrs. Bag, as in Mr. and Mrs. Douche Bag.”

Reed
’s actually a pretty good guy. He started working at the shop right before Pop died, and he’s a pro with anything made before 1970. I actually really liked him until I caught him and my niece getting it on in the back of an old Chevy. Since then, he’s been known as the douche bag to me.

She snorts before slapping my shoulder.
“Sometimes it’s hard to believe you’re a grown man.”

I lean down, blowing my warm breath gently in her ear.
“I’m not, darlin’. I’m a bad, bad boy.”

I can feel her shiver against me.
“You can’t pull that shit here. You know my six weeks are up today, and I’m dying for you.”

Kristen gave birth to our third child last month, our third daughter.
She was determined to give me a boy, but it wasn’t in the cards for us. Sometimes I wonder if I’m cursed. I will someday have a house of teenage girls. I know that, at some point, boys will want to date them, and then my life will surely be hell. But then I remember my oldest little beauty telling me how much she loves me, the sweet little nine year old drawing me a picture, or our precious baby falling to sleep in my lap. I’m not cursed; I’m blessed.

You know we could always sneak off to the car for a quickie?”

What?” I ask, surely having heard her wrong. We haven’t gotten it on in the car since we were just teens. Back then, we kept all of our shit secret. Kristen didn’t want to cause problems between me and her brother. As far as I was concerned, we could have shouted it from the roof tops.

You do remember where it goes don’t you?” she asks as her hand moves down to my hardening cock.

I groan, needing her right now.
“What about the kids?”

Laney is playing with her cousins, and Mom’s got Angela.”

I look around the party, not seeing our oldest.
“Where’s Lori?”

Kris rolls her eyes before pointing to the horseshoe pit.
I look over just in time to see Jamie bend down and place the horseshoe in Lori’s hand. He spends a few minutes teaching her how to aim then steps back to let her toss it.

You know, if he wasn’t her cousin, I think I’d be getting pissed.” For the last two months, Lori has spent every possible moment with Jamie.

Kris laughs, a full throaty laugh.
“Please do not tell me you’re that stupid.”

What the hell are you talking about?”

She motions toward my eleven year old daughter again.
“Look at her. Really look, don’t just see your baby. See Lori.”

It takes me a minute or two to understand what Kristen means, and when I do, I
’m ready to rush over there and take her home. My daughter, my little girl, isn’t a baby any more, and by the look on her face, she isn’t thinking baby thoughts. She isn’t looking at Jamie. No, Lori’s looking at his best friend Micah. “He’s too old for her,” I repeat.

He’s thirteen.”

Fine, how about this? She’s too young to like boys.”

Kristen runs her hand up to my chest, slipping it between my buttons to touch my bare skin.
“Do you remember the first time you stole a kiss from me?”

My eyes round as I remember kissing her in Will
’s clubhouse. I couldn’t have been a day over twelve, and she was probably nine, not far from Lori’s age now. It wasn’t anything more than a peck. At the time, I’m not sure I even knew there was more than that, but that one kiss set in motion everything that followed. Love, laughter, happiness.

He better not put his lips anywhere near her, or I’ll rip those things off.”

He’s not gonna kiss her. I don’t even think he knows she likes him.”

Then why the hell did you bring up the kiss then? Do you know how pissed off it makes me, just to think about her doing shit like.”

She smiles before replying.
“My point is, I had a crush on you at that age. It’s perfectly normal. It’ll fade away in time. Mine did.”

I push Lori
’s boy problems to the back of my mind and pull my wife closer. “The hell it did! You still love my kisses as much as you did back then.”

She shrugs, causing her tits to rub across my chest.
“I don’t know. It’s been so long since I had one that I’ve forgotten what they feel like.”

I pull back and grab her hand.
“I can fix that.”

We race out to the car.
I’m unbuttoning my pants before I get fully seated. I look around, seeing if there’s room to lay her down. Right now, I really want to pound into her. I like it slow and sweet sometimes, but this is not one of those times. Without moving the car seat, there’s not much space, and I don’t want to wait. “You’re gonna have to ride me hard, darlin’.”

Sounds like a challenge to me,” she teases as she climbs into my lap.

I run my hands over the backs of her thighs, lifting the bottom of her dress high enough so I can grab a handful of her delectable ass. I can
’t help kneading it in my hands. She’s always had the best lookin’ ass, and it always feels perfect in my hands, cushioning me as I sink into her from behind, or like this – providing a handhold to control our fucking. “I love your ass.”

I know you do,” she says, resting one hand on my shoulder; the other pulls her panties to the side so she can sink down onto my cock.

Holy fuck, baby, you’re so damn tight.” It never ceases to amaze me how her pussy hugs my cock. After all these years, it’s still like sinking into heaven.

I guide her down on me, making her sink down slowly. I want to fuck her hard, but it
’s been so long, and I don’t want to hurt my girl either. She sucks my earlobe into her mouth and groans, “I thought you wanted this hard and fast?”

Just savouring what’s mine first,” I say while I guide her back up my shaft. I brace my heels on the floorboard and thrust up into her drenched pussy while pulling her down to me at the same time, our skin slapping together in the sweetest way. Her hips catch my rhythm, and she meets my desire thrust for thrust.

Grabbing the back of her neck, I pull her lips to mine and devour her in a soul-searing kiss. There is nothing sweet about the way our mouths meld together; it rides the line of pleasure pain. Instead of pulling away and wanting to slow down, my girl kisses me harder still while our bodies slam into each other. Her pussy so wet I can feel her liquid heat coating my balls.

“Ah… Matty… I’m close…” her voice pleas.

Give it to me,” I demand, still holding the back of her neck so I can keep her looking at me. Those beautiful blue eyes are glazed over and begging for more. “I know what you need.” I punctuate each word with a vicious thrust. My balls tighten, and my cock throbs as my release barrels down on me. Desperate for her to let go with me, I slip my hand between our bodies and pinch her clit. Her pussy grips me like a vice, and I barely catch her lips in another kiss before her scream of passion alerts the world of our tryst.

She rips her lips away, sucking in air.
“So good.”

I rub her clit, loving how the sensation keeps her pussy pulsating around me.
“Milk that cock, baby.”

I slam into her once more, holding her to my body as I empty myself into her waiting pussy. She collapses into my chest, both of us struggling to catch our breaths. What feels like hours later, Kristen pushes off my chest, shifting herself on my lap. My cock twitches at her adjustment, and I swear I
’m like a randy teenager; always ready to fuck my girl. Her smile devastates my heart as her kiss swollen lips smile at me. “I love you, Matty.”

Always, baby.” I thank God she realized how true that was and gave us the chance to find our happiness.
