A late winter freeze had blown in, so they were stuck in slow traffic, late for their reservation.

"This’ll be fun.” Jamie slid her hand over to Alex’s knee and slid it up, letting her fingers rest close to his manhood. He shot her a hungry gaze and shifted slightly closer. Jamie cleared her throat to cover her giggle. “Alex said that you have to head back out tomorrow?" Jamie turned in her seat. After talking with him about Kristen, she realized how standoffish she had been. It was time to reach out and try to be a little more welcoming. Besides, in Jamie's opinion, Kristen would make a great girlfriend for Mark. Too bad she lived out of town.

"Yeah, unfortunately." Kristen shrugged. "I do have some hard decisions to make when I get back home, though. My boyfriend and I are at the end of our relationship. I guess I can say ex-boyfriend now."

"Oh no." Jamie moved more into the middle and turned farther, wanting to see the girl's face. "That's horrible news."

"Or not." Kristen shrugged. "I never had much luck at picking men."

"No shit." Alex chuckled. "I’m kidding. You should talk to Mark; he just filed for divorce. If your ex is anything like his, maybe we should introduce the two of them."

"You did?" Kristen turned to look at Mark.

"Yeah. Bad divorce, but, honestly, it was the best decision I could have made. We're both back to being normal, happy people. The zombie stage is officially over." He gave her a goofy grin, and Jamie moved back in her seat and gave Alex a quick wink.

Jamie glanced up at the sky. "You know what? What do you think if we just get something and go back to the house? It's supposed to only get worse, from what the weather guy said." She reached over and rested her hand in his lap again. She tried not to blush. Acting like a sex-crazed woman in a snowstorm didn’t seem to bother Alex. He grew hard near her hand. She grinned and faced forward, hoping their passengers didn’t notice.

"You guys okay with that?" Alex asked, straightening his back and lifting up to look in the rearview mirror.

"What's that?" Mark asked.

Jamie turned herself again to look in the backseat. "The storm is supposed to get really bad tonight. We could just stop into the grocery store, a pizza parlor, or that really yummy Chinese place down from the house and get stuff."

"And then go back to my place and just hang out," Alex finished up for her.

"I like the sound of that." Kristen glanced over at Mark. "That okay with you?"

"I'm just along for the ride, pretty girl." He winked at her and reached out, touching the tip of Kristen’s nose. "Do whatever you want. I'm just glad to be with you guys. Today sucked ass."

"Agreed," Alex and Jamie echoed each other.

Kristen asked why, and Jamie let Mark answer her as she turned back to Alex.

"Where do you want to grab something? What do you feel like?" She reached out and rubbed his growing erection softly.

"I'm thinking Chinese sounds delicious." He glanced over at her as traffic finally started to move. "We can get everyone's cars in the morning if it gets really bad out here tonight."

"I think that's a great idea." Jamie leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes and just enjoying the subtle voices in the backseat. Kristen seemed like a great girl, and Mark was an incredible man. He deserved only the best. Now Jamie just had to figure out if that was Kristen, and if it was... how to get her to move to New York.

She finally moved her hand away from Alex and pulled her phone out. She called the Chinese place and ordered several different dishes, double-checking to see if she had ordered enough. They stopped by the restaurant and Alex ran in to grab the food.

As they pulled up the long drive to Alex’s house, Kristen let out a low whistle.

“You live here?”

“We all do actually,” Alex chuckled. “A year ago, it was only me. Then Jamie showed up, then Mark showed up. I just keep picking and taking in strays. Got a dog, too.”

Jamie pretended to punch his arm as she laughed at his teasing. “That’s my dog, thank you very much. You gave him to me.”

“Awww,” Kristen cooed. “He bought you a stray puppy?”

Mark cleared his throat and coughed out, “Guard dog.”

“Pardon?” Kristen asked.

Mark leaned forward and poked Alex in the shoulder. “Jake’s supposed to be a guard dog. He’s just really friendly.”

“I think it’s cute.”

Jamie turned and smiled at Kristen. “So do I.”

"This is so ridiculously good. What is it again?" Mark picked up the box of Chinese noodles and poured more onto his plate before setting the container back on the coffee table. They were all gathered around it, sitting on the floor and having dinner.

Jamie had loaned Kristen a comfy t-shirt and some pajama bottoms, completed by a pair of furry socks.

"It's all good." Kristen picked at her food and kept glancing over at Mark.

"Those are called Lo Mien." Alex reached over and plucked a noodle form his brother's plate, but not quickly enough.

Mark grabbed a hold of it and pulled it back, sucking it into his mouth quickly.

Jamie laughed alongside Kristen, and grabbed the box, giving it to Alex. "There’s more in here. No need to start a war over some noodles."

"Not just any noodles. These are
the
noodles." Mark waved his chopsticks around, almost hitting Jamie with the one that went flying out of his hand.

They laughed again, and Alex leaned over, kissing the side of her face. "Great choice for dinner. You guys up for playing some board games, or should we try to get you back to your car?"

Kristen shrugged. "I'm good with whatever. I don't want to put anyone in danger. I'm happy just sleeping on the couch tonight if you guys want. Whatever would make things easy."

"You can stay in my place. There's an extra bedroom tucked into the back of it." Mark stood. "I'd love to play games, but I'm honestly exhausted. I'm thinking a movie."

"A movie sounds great." Kristen stood up with him, and it was a little more than obvious that they were hoping for a movie with just the two of them.

Jamie glanced over at Alex and nudged him as she yawned. "Well, you guys can watch it here or at Mark's. I'm exhausted. I need to hit the sack. I hope you're not too upset."

Mark and Kristen answered just a tad too fast, at the same time, "No!" “Totally fine.”

Alex chuckled and stood before helping Jamie up. "I'm with my woman. Bed sounds good after the day we've had."

"Then we'll help clean up and get out of your hair." Mark moved to start cleaning up.

"No. We'll get it. Really." Jamie pushed at his shoulder and winked at him. His cheeks colored pink, making her love him as a brother more than she did before.

"You sure?" Kristen asked as buttoned up her coat.

"Positive. Get out of here." Alex wrapped his arm around Jamie. "And great job on all this Gina stuff, Mark. I wouldn't have known what she was up to without you looking into it. I'm grateful."

"Anytime, bro." Mark walked to the door and reached for Kristen's hand as Jamie snuggled in tightly against Alex.

"This is interesting." She glanced up at Alex. "Don't you think?"

"Nope. I could have called it. I'm wise like that."

"It's why you're the boss, right?"

"The boss of you." He took off after her as she turned and ran toward the bedroom, yelling for him to stop as he laughed.

Chapter 16

Alex caught Jamie before she reached the bedroom, and pulled her to him, pressing his lips against hers. “You love the boss, don’t you?” he whispered between kisses.

“He’s a very good kisser,” Jamie whispered back as their lips met again and again. She immediately stopped trying to get away and leaned into Alex, who began stroking her back. When his hand moved down, she moaned into his mouth and reached up, gripping his shirt and pushing him against the wall.

Alex’s one hand stayed against her back as the other moved to the front. He undid her button and zipper and dragged her pants down over her derrière. He paused in his kissing when his hands touched her bare skin. “You wearing a thong?” he asked.

She grinned as she moved her hips against him. “Maybe.”

His fingers traced the curvature of her glutes and found the string of her thong. He moved his fingers over her crack, sliding up and down.

Jamie sighed and stepped back, slipped out of her pants, and stood in only her white blouse and black thong.

“What color’s your bra?” Alex asked, leaned against the wall and enjoying the view.

“Do you want to see?” Jamie began unbuttoning her top. She opened it but didn’t take it off. The black lace matched the small lace part of the front of her thong.

“Spin around. Slowly,” he demanded.

She did as he asked, noting his breath catch as she turned and lifted her arms so she could bury her fingers in her hair and lift it up, off from the heat burning on her neck. Raising her arms, she lifted the edge of her blouse to give him a slightly better view of her derrière.

She stopped when she faced him again, enjoyed the cocky look of desire on his face and knowing she had been the one to create it.  She reached out and grabbed his wrist, guiding his hand beneath her thong.

Alex swallowed hard, his face tight with concentration as he deftly slid two fingers along her silky, wet skin.

As he reached lower, Jamie brought her head back and placed one hand on Alex’s shoulder to steady herself. “Please… yes,” she gasped.

His fingers found her nub and he began to squeeze and rub it. She arched against his hand and his fingers dipped lower into her folds. While his thumb played with her nub, he slid two fingers in and out of her. Jamie’s mouth sagged open as her breathing grew ragged, and she tightened and clenched against his fingers. Lightning bolts of pleasure shot through her and she said Alex’s name over and over again in a hoarse whisper.

Finally, the tremors subsided. She fell against him and grabbed his wrist again. This time she drew it to her mouth and kissed his fingers. “You’re very good with your hands.” She grinned wickedly and sucked one finger into her mouth before stepping back and bursting into a run, disappearing into the bedroom. She poked her head around the corner to wait for him.

“You are so fucking going to get it,” Alex called out and jogged after her, stripping out of his clothes as he went.

Jamie pushed him flat onto the bed and pulled the only remaining piece of clothing off him—his boxer-briefs. “You know,” she said, “you could be in underwear commercials.”

He tucked his handed under his head and laughed. “Billionaire tycoon Alex Reid decides to get his near- naked body plastered on all of the city walls in advertisement. What do you think the papers would do with that?”

Jamie shook her head. “On second thought, I don’t want all the women in the city having orgasms because of you. That’s my job.”

He grinned. “And you are very good at your job, Ms. Connors.”

She climbed onto the bed and straddled him. Holding his erection in her left hand, she parted her pussy with her right hand and sank onto him. “Fuck,” she cried out as her hands reached for his chest to steady herself as she began to ride him. “You feel so good inside me.”

Alex’s hands reached for her ass. “Not arguing with you there,” he grunted as he began working himself in and out of her.

Jamie’s fingers slid down Alex’s chest to his tight abs.

“You… are… so… fuck!” Alex’s hips hitched upward as his need cut off his words.

The sweet torture on his face and the thickness of his erection inside her made Jamie arch as she climaxed, her body tightening around his as he went rigid. He pumped inside her as he came and she shuddered with each movement.

Their bodies finally slowed and Jamie collapsed on top of Alex, kissing his shoulder and biting him gently. “Yup, I love the boss.”

He smiled as he kissed her forehead. “Let’s be honest here, we both know the boss is.”

Chapter 17

Jamie woke in the middle of the night to the sound of someone moving around the house. Assuming it was Alex, she turned over. The soft footsteps weren't enough to drag her fully from sleep, but a strong hand gripping her hip did. Alex was in the bed with her.

Mark?

Getting up quietly, she crept to the door and held her breath. Surely they weren’t being robbed again. There was no way. No idiot would be stupid enough to come back.

Alex had fixed the alarm but she couldn’t remember if they had set it after Mark and Kristen left. She’d been too interested in getting finger-fucked in the hallway. Fear rolled in the pit of her stomach and reached up, choking her for a few minutes when she realized that the voices she heard were distinctly male.

She quietly closed the door and locked it before rushing over to Alex and shaking him hard. He came up out of the bed with a loud grunt.

"What?"

"There are people in the house again. Two guys." Her voice was shaking, and she moved to the phone, calling the police once again.

Alex got up, leaned over, and pulled something from under the bed before unlocking the door and barreling down the hall.

"Alex. No!" She dropped the phone and ran into the hall, not thinking of anything but his safety.

He was on the ground, punching someone in a black hoodie over and over. The back door was open and the glass was splintered from someone breaking it. The second guy must have broken the window to get away.

Jamie picked up the gun that was on the floor near them and extended her arms, the scene having moved into slow motion for her.

"Alex. Get off of him. I have your gun." Her hands shook due to the chilliness in the house combined with the terror of someone being in the house again.

He moved back and got to his feet, his eyes wild, his lip busted. He took the gun and pointed it at the guy. "Don't move an inch. You sorry bastards have hit us up twice." He jerked his head at Jamie. “Go put some clothes on.”

Jamie glanced down, and then at Alex’s naked body. She grabbed his shirt from the hallway floor and the pants that he had shed earlier. She put his shirt on and tossed him his pants and then buttoned the top with shaky hands.
