"What about you?” Zevon asked Christophe.
Christophe smiled and made his wish. “I wish that every Christmas will be as happy as this one."
The light in the room blazed, a warm indigo color filling every corner of their temporary home.
Zevon sensed the planet's approval. He bent down and pressed his lips to Andia's other foot. “Merry Christmas, Mistress Ball Breaker."
She placed a hand on both his and Christophe's head. “Merry Christmas, prisoners."
So long ago, hope had seemed lost. Zevon gazed at the Mistress who was both owned by him and owned him. Then he glanced at the man who submitted to them both.
How it happened, he didn't know. But Zevon was determined to make every moment count. He didn't need a star. He wished it.
The room filled with blue light, startling all three of them. “What's that?” Christophe asked.
Zevon smiled. “I think Placido just gave me a Christmas present. It let me wish upon a Star."
"What did you wish for?” Andia asked.
"You'll see,” Zevon answered.
I never considered myself a writer...
I loved Harlequin romances when I was little and used to sneak them from my mother's bookshelf. But my father influenced me with Agatha Christie, Ngiao Marsh and Arthur Conan Doyle. I loved to write but never thought about becoming an author.
In 2003, a profound experience changed that. My mother showed me a manuscript written by my father. No one had ever seen it. No agent. No editor. No one. He died in 2002 never realizing his dream to be a published author. Would that would be my fate? Would I always keep my writing hidden, unseen, unread? I vowed that I would at least try.
It has been a fabulous journey. I have a special relationship with my characters, who both annoy me and inspire me. And yes, they talk to me. In the shower. In the car. When I'm trying to sleep. Many have asked me why I write erotic romance. Believe me, it would probably be easier to write something my mom could tell her friends about. But I love the emotion, the conflict, the possibilities contained in erotic romance. When I read, I want to indulge in fantasies. I hope I can do the same for others.
I live with a Redneck, who loves to brainstorm with me on occasion, and my two dirt-faced Okie kids in the Northern California boonies.
