“That's good, Ever, so good. How does it feel for your first sound to be your husband's voice? Is it too loud?”
“It feels amazing. No, it's not too loud. It's sexy, his voice is sexy.” I laugh and cry at the same time. It's so weird to hear myself. Then I hear other sounds, sounds like I just made, and look around the room. I see all the smiles, shaking shoulders so I can identify it as laughter, and some tears. Everyone I love is in the room with me: my mom and dad, Zoey and Hanger, Writer and Xander. Of course, all the tears are from my mom and sister.
Writer takes my face in between his hands. He leans in close and says, “I think your voice is sexy too, Sugar.” I can feel my face heat up as the blush takes over because I realize just then that I said that in front of everyone. He plants a soft sweet kiss on my lips, and right when I get my arms around his neck, I hear another sound.
I pull back,
“What was that?”
Writer stands up, walking over to Xander's car seat, picks him up and brings him over to me. I see his little mouth open and his face scrunched up.
“Is he crying?”
I ask as more tears come.
When Xandor is in my arms, Writer responds,
“Yeah Babe, he's crying.”
I watch as my husband, the love of my life, wipes away tears from his own eyes. I savor the sweet sound of hearing our baby for the first time.
“Hey Sugar.”
I look up at my husband, the smile he is giving me is breathtaking.
“It's a forever thing, you and me.”
I nod, smile and rock our baby while looking at Writer.
“You and me...we're a forever thing.”

I live in a small town in Kansas with my husband and kids. When I'm not working you can find me at home planning or writing my next book. I am an avid reader and love a good romance. I used to read a lot more before writing, but I still try to sneak in a good book here and there.
