He couldn’t hear her scream, neither the tingle of the wand bouncing on the stone floor, but he didn’t need to, to know what was happening. Even he could barely stand up due to what he was experiencing, and the situation for her couldn’t be better. In spite of this, once the death scene was over and he could go back to the real world, he asked his body a last effort and threw himself towards the weapon.
She was faster. Her black hand seized the wand a second before Sylke could reach it, but his grey one, still bare, tightened around her wrist.
Their eyes met.
Nothing was shown on Sylke’s face. An anguish bordering terror disfigured Talsya’s.
«What are you...? What...?» she mumbled, unable to name the sensation she was feeling.
He stood silent, as the energy flowed through their bodies and out of them, shaping itself in the solid form of a black, crystal cylinder, suspended above their joined hands.
Soon, her gaze was lost, her eyes became empty and opaque. She would be like that for some time, prisoner of her body devoid of any kind of perception.
The cylinder, now completely solid, fell on the palm of Sylke’s hand, turned just in time to grab it.
«It’s... easier... with the rabbit» he was barely able to say before losing consciousness.
