His mouth watered at the sight of her jiggling cheeks as he pounded her doggy style, and then he quickly grew restless and flipped her around to face him, all the while remaining deep inside of her. Her eyes lit up excitedly as he lunged forward and began to make out with her, both their tongues swirling around one another’s ravenously as he pumped his big cock deep into her. Laura moaned and shivered, it just felt so good, so right. His strong hands gripped onto the back side of her legs and he hoisted her up in his arms, holding her and bouncing her up and down on his throbbing cock.
“You feel so good, baby. So nice and tight.” Brad rasped and dropped her softly onto her back, and then spread her legs back behind her head. She squealed from the sensation of the stretching, and thrust her tongue back into his mouth. His body rose as he propped himself up with both hands and Laura’s mouth watered at the sight of his bulging sweaty muscles. And then he pumped himself into her over and over until her eyes rolled into their sockets and her tongue flopped uncontrollably out of her mouth.
“Fuck
.” She cried and felt the swell of an orgasm rising in her body like a tidal wave. It hit her hard and lasted for what felt like forever. Brad froze inside of her after giving her one last aggressive
pump
and then gasped for air. She felt his cock convulsing and throbbing, and knew that he was coming too.
“Oh… Baby,” He rasped, “Oh baby.”
They lay there still until their orgasms passed, resting against one another. Their skin was sweaty and their mouths were parched and they both looked into each other’s eyes.
“I’m falling for you, Brad.”
Brad paused before speaking. He didn’t like to say things he didn’t mean, and he didn’t like to tell a girl lies. But he had no lies to tell Laura, so he spoke confidently, “I’m falling for you too.
Hard.
”
Over the next month life was peachy, almost too peachy. The kind of peachy that you can taste in the back of your mouth and sense that something bad is about to happen. Brad had this taste, but he knew that there was nothing bad about Laura. In fact, everything was going beautifully. He’d accidentally seen her bank statement when she withdrew some cash from an ATM one day in the valley and had told her instantly that she needed to move in with him.
Her accounts were decent, but nothing compared to his, and with rent prices being sky high he knew her savings wouldn’t last near as long as they would if he were her sole provider.
“I want you to be with me,” He’d said, “To live with me. I know it’s soon, but I think we’ve moved quickly and progressed. I can sense that you’re my mate.”
“That sounds so corny,” She’d laughed, “But I feel the same way. I can sense it, I guess… And I’m not even a shifter.”
“So what do you say?”
“You sure? Would you be okay with me moving in with you?”
“Of course. Money goes fast in Los Angeles.”
Laura wrapped an arm around his back and kissed his cheek. He was a delight, and she felt grateful to have him. He felt the same of course, and it was an unspoken kind of newfound love that they shared with each other as they did day to day tasks like going to the grocery each Monday, Brad teaching her to surf on the Malibu waves, catching a late night movie at the theater, and going out to dinner in Santa Monica.
After a week of settling in with Brad Laura got back into the routine of submitting her acting headshots for theatrical and commercial agents, and auditioning herself for small roles in student films and commercials. Everything was going good. Everything was going
too
good.
It was around eleven o’clock and Brad was alone in the house at his laptop. Laura had left a few hours earlier for a series of auditions and then an acting class later in the evening so Brad had the house to himself and he’d been excited to get to work. He was making good progress on his new novel and was twenty pages in when the doorbell rang. Brad’s brow furrowed and he stood up and went to the front door before peeking out the big window’s curtains.
It was a man in a suit who didn’t look like he was fooling anyone. Brad knew he was a plainclothes detective the minute he laid eyes on him, and he wondered if there was some strange development in the incident of Laura’s abduction
“How can I help you?” He asked after opening the door.
“I’m Nulton from homicide,” He said coldly, “Can I come in?”
Brad had the door wide open and gestured politely with his arm, “Of course.”
He led Nulton into the living room and could feel his eyes burning holes through his back. Then he sensed the man’s eyes darting to and fro all around the house. He’d just met him, and he already didn’t like Nulton. He was pretty sure the feeling was mutual.
“Cup of coffee, sir?” Brad asked.
“Got any bourbon?” Nulton watched Brad’s expression change to that of awkwardness, “Just kidding.” He quickly added, but Brad knew he wasn’t.
“So what brings you here?”
“The men from a month ago that abducted your girl. Is she around?”
“No, she’s out.”
“Doing what?”
“Is that any of your business, Detective?”
“How’d you know I was a detective?” He sneered.
“You’re in plain clothes and you said you work in homicide.”
“Good catch.”
“I knew before you even spoke.”
“Quick, son. Real quick. But watch your tongue, you might get hurt. I’m not afraid of the beast you really are. Ten years ago you’d have been pinned upside down and tied at the ankles. People have gotten too soft, too accepting. It sickens me, actually.” His eyes turned cold and scanned Brad up and down.
Brad sat there boiling inside and stared at the man, a typical racist. The man smirked and Brad almost couldn’t help himself from quickly raising his arm and backhanding his stupid jaw, but he knew that wouldn’t get him anywhere but behind bars. Besides, he still needed to know what the detective’s business here was about.
“What the hell do you want?” He asked through barred teeth.
“Ooh, feisty. Well, Brad… It turns out one of the guys you beat to hell who then kidnapped your girl somehow got out of jail a week ago. He killed somebody within three hours of getting out; an old lady walking her dog in the Pacific Palisades.”
“And you didn’t alert me? My girlfriend’s life was at danger.” Brad growled.
“Easy, tiger,” Nulton chuckled, “We didn’t consider him a threat. He was small time. All we wanted to do was find him because he’d broken out. Turns out we figured that puzzle out; he’d seduced one of the female guards and she snuck him out. But the reason I’m here is…” He drew his words out teasingly.
“Get on with it.”
“Well, we found the man last night. He was dead up in the hills, not very far from the hiking trail where you two had your little… Scuffle.”
“Dead?”
“Somebody killed him and left his body there. Tried to hide it, but didn’t do a very good job of it. I’m thinking that someone was you, Brad.”
“That’s bullshit.”
“I’m going to need you to come with me down to the station.”
Brad sighed with annoyance, “I have nothing to hide. What do you need me at the station for?”
“Questioning.”
“Can’t you do that here, like now?”
“No, smart guy. Don’t get tough, I’ll slap the cuffs on you if you get tough,” He raised his voice, “You want me to slap the cuffs on you?” His eyes blaze madly.
“Fine. I’ll come down to the station ‘for some questioning’.”
*****
Brad sat in the backseat of the detective’s car and rode silently as he stared out the window at the city passing by. When they got to the station the detective opened the door for him and led him inside, walking behind him every step of the way as if he might run at any moment. Brad felt like some kind of criminal and wanted to knock Nulton in the jaw, but knew that would be a mistake, and certainly would cause more suspicion to rise.
“In here.” Nulton pointed at a set of doors that led into a filthy white interrogation room. The walls had a thick layer of brown grime dripping down them from a leak in the roof. It looked like it needed to be fixed fast, and it smelled that way too.
“Nice place.” Brad smiled and plopped down into a metal chair.
“Don’t get snippy,” Nulton sat down across from him and pulled a notepad out of his pocket, “Where were you the last three nights? I’ll need details and alibis.”
Brad scratched his face in disbelief and held his head back as he looked at the ceiling. He hadn’t done much of anything the past few nights. Laura and he went to a movie two nights ago, last night they strolled on the beach, three nights ago…. He couldn’t remember that well because it was all just a bunch of regular stuff.
“Stayed home last night other than a little walk on the beach with Laura, the night before we went to a movie-”
Nulton cut him off sharply, “Where?”
“Barne’s Cinema in Venice. Why?”
“Just jogging your memory and seeing if you’re quick. Or if you’re lying.”
“I’m not fucking lying.” Brad said angrily.
“And the night before that?” The detective began to scribble on the notepad.
“Ah, yes. We ate at O’Neill’s in Santa Monica.”
“What’d you have and how much did it cost?”
“Burger and Fries, twelve dollars and some change. She got a chicken Caesar salad, nine dollars I think.”
“I’ll need to contact the restaurant to see if you were actually there.” Nulton said casually.
Brad slammed a fist on the table and it almost cracked. Nulton slowly looked up with his eyes, and they were full of hate, “Got something to say, tough guy?”
“I’m not a tough guy, and I’m not a murderer. I’m just a guy who’s pissed off that he’s being treated like one. Surely you understand that?” Brad growled.
“I don’t know,” Nulton tossed the pen down on the table and stretched his arms up before wrapping them smugly around the back of his head, “I just don’t know. See, what I think we’ve got here is a case of a guy who morphs into a tiger in a bar fight and damn near kills the men he’s fighting. What I think we’ve got here is a guy who gets so pissed off at the scumbags who took his girl that he stalks the jail and then he sees him miraculously being taken out by a horny and lonely female guard. What I think we’ve got here is a guy who follows the guard and watches where she drops said man off. Do I need to go on?”
“No. But I’ll tell you something,” Brad said icily, “I’m not that guy. Got it?”
“Words mean nothing, Brad. You’re a freak who changes into a wild animal. A
tiger,
for Chrissake!” He howled and slammed his fist against the table before giving Brad the death stare. Then his voice softened and he whispered, “If I had my say, all of you beasts would be hunted skinned. You’re nothing but an ant to me. I am the alpha omega, because I am the
fucking human
. Animals are beneath me, beneath all of us who share the normal DNA… Not botched DNA that allows you to shift into a wild beast. You
sicken
me, if you want to know the truth.”
Brad paused and felt his heart slowing down. He wasn’t mad anymore. If anything, the detective amused him with his tremendous amount of ignorance and prejudice. He was a disgusting specimen of life, to say the least.
“Feel better now?” Brad grinned.
Nulty’s ugly gaunt face twisted into an enraged expression and he lunged forward in an attempt to grab Brad at the shirt collar. Brad slid back in the chair with his arms crossed and began to laugh. The door swung open and a loud voice echoed throughout it.
“
Nulty
! The hell do you think you’re doing, son?” A large older man with a heavyset double chin and beefy legs walked in the room and scowled. He wiped his brow and slammed a report down on the table, “This isn’t even your case, Nulty. Get out of here.”
Nulty scowled back and murmured something before quickly rising out of his seat and stomping out of the room. He looked back at Brad and narrowed his eyes before walking out of the doorway and making sure to slam the door as loud as possible. The man sat down across from Brad and casually crossed his legs before pursing his lips.
“Allow me to apologize for that man’s savage behavior. If I get my way, he won’t be working here much longer. Now, am I right in assuming that he told you the details of the case, as skewed and twisted as he may have made them?”
“He told me the bottom line. The guy was let out by a guard he seduced and then they found him dead a week later. I didn’t do it. I didn’t even know he was out – how would I? Was it on the news or something?”
“No, we didn’t have any need to make it public.”
Brad thought that over for a minute and it didn’t make sense to him.
“Wait a second. Why not?”
“Sorry?” The man’s brow furrowed thoughtfully.
“Man breaks out of jail and is considered rather violent or somewhat dangerous, and I’d say kidnapping makes that the case. He escapes and isn’t found for a week. Any news station would eat that up and plaster his mugshot and tell everyone in the area to lock their doors. Also, most police departments would inform the woman who’d been attacked by him. Nothing, nada, zilch.”
The man paused and wrapped his hands together, and then said softly, “The man we found dead, the man who attempted to hold your girlfriend for ransom, was the son of a very prominent and powerful figure in this city. He was the son of a billionaire land developer who happens to have a bit of… Influence in the way things work.”
“You take bribes and money?”
“Things are… Complicated, sir. Er… Sometimes.” He bit his lip and smirked awkwardly.
Brad smiled and shook his head, “Well sir, whoever you are. It seems you’ve just informed me of a largely corrupt police system. In fact,” He pulled a small device out of the side pocket of his blue jeans and waved it in the air, “It seems you’ve just admitted that you except bribes. You’ve admitted that you cover information up that could be deadly… And in this case,
was
deadly. It could have been completely avoided, had the department made the news public instead of accepting a bribe.”
“Is that a recorder I’m looking at?” The man gulped slowly.
“Yes, and it’s a recorder that automatically sends a live stream to my computers which then automatically save the information in various encrypted websites that only I have the power to unlock. This information could be on national news, and there’s no way for you to stop it.”
“Mr…”
“Am I still a suspect in this case, sir?” Brad’s voice was stern and confident.
“No,” The man said quickly, “No, not whatsoever.”
The man laughed nervously and held his hands out in disbelief.
