She realized she has made up her mind, having gone from feeling totally shocked that a man will help her and her loyal people to grasping with both hands the shift of power she felt coming. She had been helpless to make changes alone, but she no longer felt so ineffectual. Evan gave her both strength and options she had lost when Uncle took over. But there was more, too. She really liked and relished having Evan as a husband and a lover. Uncle had proven himself her enemy over and over. She was a pragmatic woman, one who could see that she had few viable alternatives besides trusting Evan and his people.

But to her surprise she realized that she really wanted Evan and the marriage. It was tantalizing to think about having love and marriage and eventually children with him. She wanted it all, too. She also liked it that he truly seemed to want her, too, and for more than her organizational skills or even sex.

She turned and headed for the closet and then the tunnels without any explanations. Evan followed, indicating without words that he understood what she was thinking.

She headed in the opposite direction they had traveled to dispose of Luther’s body. “We are coming around to the back of the stone castle,” she explained.

Looking out through other arrow slits Evan could see raised terraces of plants some protected under plastic or glass greenhouses, along with walled and guarded animal and human shelters. The castle grounds had been extended to include a small village and lots of workers tending whatever work was needed to feed the animals and people. It was chilly in the tunnels and Evan wrapped an arm around her when she shivered. “I had all this built and going when Uncle arrived. He was unconvinced all the work was really necessary, but he loves to eat enough that he gave me leave to make it continue to happen.”

“You are raising a lot of food in a very small area,” Evan said. “Doesn’t the soil burn out?”

“We rotate the foods frequently and use compost to feed and fertilize the plants. Manure from the animals is composted separately and allowed to heat to kill germs for longer periods than plant compost. We get by with sheep, goats and chickens, but no bigger animals. Those animals can feed us with milk, cheese and eggs or as meat, though much more rarely. The sheep also supply us with wool for clothing. We raise some fish in ponds. A combination of the two types of compost is spread after harvests and left to rest for a while. Then we replant. We do have failures but it generally works pretty well. We have some good berry production, and even other fruits, too. Warm weather crops have to be in greenhouses and the animals and chickens live in shelters and cages and stay outside on good days within fences or portable cages. Grains don’t do great without big fields and tractors, but we do some naturally occurring grasses and seeds on a small scale. We use them as food garnishes, rather than for flour or bread. We do some tilling by hand but not too much because it takes too much labor. I’m still experimenting with the whole process, but we do manage to feed ourselves,” she said.

“Terrans use low till methods to grow food with some success, too,” Evan commented. “We have grown a lot of food in smaller plots of land and even underground. Larger fields are impossible to hide or secure from raiders.”

“Besides, tractor farming or factory farming caused a lot of damage to land and rivers here,” Isabelle said. “Smaller growing crops can be productive and without chemicals people used to use. If the chemicals had been harmless I would use them, but they aren’t. They are still lying around a lot of places. For example, herbicides cause damage to DNA that I can see with my new powers and many people are still damaged even years after they have been out of use. Pesticides damaged human nervous systems and reproductive systems just as they did bugs, though humans survived longer after exposure. Fertilizers did a lot of damage to waterways causing dead zones in the oceans.”

She continued “Uncle complains all the time about having to eat turnips, beets, radishes, carrots and rutabagas but we get nourishment from them in the form of greens as well as the root crops that we can store for a long time in root cellars, plus they will grow in cool, even freezing temperatures,” Isabelle said. “We manage to keep foods for a long time even without refrigeration. Jams and jellies will keep but it’s hard to find enough sugar for them, plus the sugar is bad for us and for our teeth. We have started keeping bees, but we don’t have anyone who knows how to handle them. No one really likes the job, least of all me. We do some canning but it works better with some things than with others. Most manufactured foods have timed out since the wars. There’s a lot of risk in eating them.”

“We found some sealed bags of things like beans, grains and coffee, but little else is still good,” she continued. “We also freeze some foods outside or in underground cold storage with ice, but you never know when it will get too warm or critters will find it.”

“I’m surprised you are so interested,” she said as she turned to look at him directly.

“I am a member in good standing with my people,” he told her. “It’s a responsibility we all share, both men and women. You have been doing the same here even with Uncle getting in your way.”

“Speaking of Uncle,” Isabelle said, “He has another party planned and scheduled for the end of the week. He had the invitations sent before you got here. He’s been planning them more and more often and inviting edgier, creepier men, too. The more parties we have the more it stresses our food production and the more of us don’t get enough to eat.”

“I suppose you told him,” Evan said.

“Yes, and it didn’t go over well, either.

“What if we made our move before or during the party…and changed his whole agenda and the lives of everyone here?” he suggested.

She turned and aimed a hopeful look at him. “We could do that?”

“If we prepare and do some planning we could do it,” he said.

Planning with Evan and his people had greater possibilities than anything she had done in the years since Uncle took over. She wanted to do something to help herself and her friends. She was tired of feeling helpless and trapped.

She paced the hallway back and forth for a while as he watched. He seemed calm about her hesitation, as though he understood her concerns. Just that small thing, his patience, gave her confidence.

“Come,” she said. “Follow me.”

She took him through all the tunnels and showed him all the peepholes. Finally she showed him the secret entrances into the castle through the dungeons. The opening was well hidden even though it was concealed behind the locked dungeon doors. There was a sequence of hand locks that had to open in a certain order. Passage openings were controlled by a series of weighted and balanced mechanical devices that were very intriguing and impressive, considering when they were designed. She showed him the order for this one, but did not open the door.

The proper order and movements flashed into his mind. It was the first time she had opened her mind to him so completely. It made him feel that their union was becoming real and he felt ecstatic. He also wanted to make love to her. He immediately became aroused and his huge organ became fully erect.

It was very quiet and dim in the dungeon like homes on Terra. The atmospheric reminder was suggestive of many pleasures for him.

Chapter 17

He turned and looked at her, willing her to see what he was feeling.

She felt it and saw it immediately and became as aroused as he was. Their eyes, and bodies, and intimate parts all wanted to come together…immediately, not later. Appropriateness and modesty and worries could be damned. They had something they needed badly and they intended to let nothing get in their way.

Her arms reached for his shoulders. The wanting was clear in her face and his.

He reached for her and pulled her into his arms and rubbed his erection against her belly.

She gasped in pleasure and pulled back so she could run a questing hand over his enlarged organ. Not only did she feel his hard dick, she also felt his happiness and his mental connection to her.

They were making each other want to have sex. It was irresistible. More importantly neither of them wanted to resist.

They helped each other get clothing out of the way. Evan picked her up and as Isabelle spread her legs he pulled her to him and slowly eased his hard cock into her wet hungry passage. She was finally ready, willing and eager to experience his cock inside her. It was a tight fit but she was so wet it felt wonderful. Isabelle held on to his big shoulders while he grasped her butt sliding her up and down the shaft, taking it all the way out occasionally just to let her feel the head pop back in. He pulled her up and down his shaft with a quickening pace at the perfect angle for the head to hit her G spot with each plunge while the shaft caressed her clit with perfection.

She felt his passion and it fueled her own. She gasped and tried to take him deeper. He was supporting her and they were linked in both their bodies and minds. Neither had ever experienced anything like it.

He pumped into her and she rode him as they reached for a peak, a not so little quickie. It felt more important than anything at that moment. Their connections, all of them were becoming the most important things in their lives. It was love and wanting that was exponential, not banal and minor like many relationships.

It was hot and immediate and very compelling, not just for her, but for him, too.

Evan felt himself growing almost unbearably aroused. He could feel his balls climbing closer to his shaft as he approached the point where he would have to come. He reached into an old armoire in the hallway and grabbed a feather mattress, never letting her leave his shaft, threw it onto the floor and while still in her laid her down upon it. Despite this act, he never missed a stroke. He was not only a sex machine but also a magician.

He moved a hand to stroke her hard little clit while still thrusting into her gushing pussy and she came, screaming and pulsating as he pumped himself into her and came harder than ever before, groaning in delight and satisfaction as he completely filled her with his love juices. Golden light shimmered around them, more noticeable in the dungeon than above ground in rooms that were more brightly lit than where they blissfully clasped each other.

They laid there, deep and safe in the dungeon and each other until the light faded and they recovered from the cataclysm.

Finally she stirred and woke from a light sleep. “The mattress was an inspired idea, how did you know it was there?” she said. “I willed it, he said. “It was that or collapse on top of you on a stone floor,” he said. “I was feeling faint and I thought I might like to do it again some time, and I know you will like it better and be more receptive if I don’t fall on you and mash you flat while we are in the throes of passion.” He smiled as he said it, as sweet as a boy.

“I’m starting to really like you,” she told him softly as she caressed his cheek.

“I adore you,” he growled, looking serious and a little strained.

“I see this wonderful golden light every time we have sex,” she told him. “I thought at first that it was because we have such great sex, but now I think it’s more than that.”

“It doesn’t always happen.” he said. “We are extraordinarily compatible, even for couples in Terran culture. The light indicates the blessings of the God and the Goddess. We are blessed more than many unions and will have responsibilities that will require our special skills. It means we are true partners. You will be a priestess and I will be a priest and we together will work to make our world a better place. This makes me very happy. I hoped we would be like this together.”
