5. Pin and stitch both sides of the T-shirts back together, creating a tube.

6. Stitch top part together with tube, creating a checkered pattern.

7. Cut front of dress as a tank top, follow drawing where indicated with scissors.

8. Cut a diagonal line from armpit to armpit in the back of the dress.

9. Cut straps lining up with the straps you cut in front.

10. Try on and trim with scissors if needed.

PETR’S BIKINI

You’ll need:

1 pair of old undies with a good fit; they will serve as pattern for bikini bottom

1 T-shirt, preferably black or other dark color

Needle and thread

1 safety pin

1 thrift shop necklace made of olive-size beads

1. Cut the side seams of your undies open and lay out flat on top of your T-shirt.

2. Pin the undies to the T-shirt, making sure you only catch one layer of fabric. Cut around shape carefully leaving 1/2 in.
seam allowance above the waistband.

3. Cut across sleeves as indicated on drawing, creating two triangular pieces. Each piece should cover the size of your bust.

4. Cut four 1/2 in. wide strips from bottom of T-shirt, cut one side seam open on each strip and pull to create stronger strips.

5. Fold seam allowance on both sides of your waistband downward and stitch across, creating a tunnel.

6. Attach a safety pin to one end of a strip, then slide the strip through the tunnel of the waistband. Repeat on other side
with another strip, try on, and tie at sides.

7. Thread a few beads on the loose ends of strips and secure with simple knots.

8. Fold bottom of one triangular piece upward and stitch across to create a tunnel; repeat on second piece.

9. Attach a safety pin to one end of a strip, then carefully slide through the tunnel of the first triangular piece.
