One of the Geminis said in a whisper, “After we‘re done with this scum, we should have our way with his secretary.”

His Twin responded, “What? Don’t be foolish. There’s no time for that. He wants a report of what goes on here when we’re done. And need I remind you that we have yet to find Sagittarius?”

The First Gemini answered, “Well, let’s just add her to the report after we kill this Bookkeeper.”

His Twin replied, “Our time is no longer ours to keep, not since the day we were given the Scroll. Don’t you care about the importance of forming this alliance? Enough of your bullshit!”

The First Gemini scanned the perimeter. Jane vanished and so did everyone else, except for the same guy they’d passed in the lobby heading into the building. It was Pharisees making his way down the hall.

The First Twin spoke, “And just who the fuck are you supposed to be?”

Pharisees answered, “The rest will envy me when I deliver the news of how I eliminated the Gemini before they ever laid eyes upon them. But no one has to die unless you hand over that Scroll and atone for your sins. Meet my demands, and I will let you live.”

The Gemini scoffed in unison, “Ha-ha-ha! You arrogant bastard. You’ll lose your life in retribution for those words!”

Pharisees touched the floor where they stood; his gift revealed their weakness. They ran out of the office for their initial attack, but a barrage of lengthy sharp throwing knives forced them to teleport out of harm’s way. The knives violently pelted the walls and fixtures of the hall and office.

The Gemini put their Air Signs to work and knocked Pharisees back down the hall with a burst of wind. It was as if a tornado had ripped through the hallway. Pharisees hit one of the walls hard and collapsed. The Gemini sprinted towards him. “Do not move.”

One of the Gemini Twins summoned his special power and entered the mind of Pharisees.

Pharisees fended off the invasion within his mind. He focused on the physicality as he teleported his way in the opposite direction of the Gemini.

Stopped in their tracks, they stumbled as he vanished in plain sight.

He reappeared behind them, equipping his Super Sword. They gathered themselves and exchanged sharp metal. He showcased over a hundred years of training. Despite the
two of them, the Gemini still could not find an opening or an effective defense against the skilled swordsmen of God. Pieces of their flesh piled upon his sword. Yet, with another surge of wind, they sent him towards another wall. Pharisees countered by using his teleporting abilities. He went through the wall unscathed, leaving his Zodiac adversaries puzzled.

Pharisees escaped.

The Gemini remarked, “So, he can transfer matter as well? This has just gotten more interesting.”

The Twins moved cautiously within the halls. “Split up. Let’s find this Fuck!”

Pharisees heard them from a distance, also teleporting through the walls of the building.

“They were too strong for me to handle alone in spite of me discovering their weaknesses. Hopefully, I’ve covered enough time for Anderson to escape,” Pharisees muttered, hiding in plain site amongst the fast-paced crowd of New Yorkers.

The First Gemini hollered, “Fuck! I’m cut and that damn Bookkeeper escaped!”

The Second Twin added, “So am I. If destiny allows it, I’m hoping we will cross paths with him again.”

JUSTUS’S RECORD

I remember the full contents of my recent dream in my past life. I remember being a scientist. Other scientists and I awaited more Visitors from Orion’s Belt. These ET’s were very determined in finding one of their own. Sadly, time and time again, they would depart empty-handed and overwhelmed.

Without a doubt, this Humanoid Alien was someone of high importance. This was definitely not the first time we’d recovered bodies from saucers. It was their third visit, and they’d yet to say whom they were searching for. They didn’t mind if they were missing, or even dead. We discovered that experimentation on their lost colleague is what they feared the most. And, why? What were they afraid we’d find?

We extended our examinations before our Visitors from Orion’s Belt returned three weeks later. They made it clear that they would much rather the girl we pulled from the saucer dead. We had revived and experimented on her. It wasn’t within my
jurisdiction to tell them about that part. We knew that if we deceived them, thousands of starships with advanced technology would return.

We knew that they meant every word, but our greed for new technology and what this girl could teach us became too overwhelming. She proved more valuable to us than the finest of Earth metals.

Much to our surprise, our new test subject was content with our research. She mentioned being a Zodiac, but that was all she could remember before the crash. Her gifts amazed us, and we understood why the People of Orion’s Belt had such an urgent interest. She was a veritable weapon.

And yes, we weren’t the only ones to obsess over the Zodiac. They’d been exposed. The Visitors from Orion’s Belt were no different. Nevertheless, they kept their word and did return with thousands of starships and, yes, Earth was on the verge of complete annihilation due to a handful of scientists who couldn’t contain their self-indulgence for technological power. Luckily for us, and despite our senseless inability to tell the truth, supernatural forces from outside our Galaxy, including the Dark Graduates, proved to be more influential than the People of Orion’s Belt. Even Archangels made their presence known.

They all shared a common interest in Earth and the Zodiac. In exchange for peace, we simply returned the Zodiac. But the Zodiac was not theirs to begin with. She argued that she was also a captive and had sought refuge on Earth before the crash. She further explained that she was no stranger to the scientists of Orion’s Belt either. To avoid a war over one Zodiac, it was best that this Zodiac was either destroyed or set free. But destroying her would’ve been unjust. They would only cause additional misfortune.

And so, she was set free to wander the Universe. Each party returned to their World displeased, but our Galaxy once again was restored.

Many people would ask me, “Was your study really worth jeopardizing everyone on Earth?” I understood their argument. As a stubborn young scientist, my next statement might have been selfish to most, but what those other scientists’ and I had experienced, witnessed, and discovered over the time spent with that Zodiac was worth taking to the grave. And, to further justify my defense, judging by all of the supernatural forces that got involved, we were not alone. She had yet to mature, but there was enough power in that Zodiac to destroy us all at will. Despite her not knowing her full potential, we knew it.

Chapter 6

FURTHER DELAY

“D
ear citizens of New York City, we were saddened to hear about the loss of our Pastor, Pastor Jacob Richardson. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and followers, as he is remembered to be a true man of God. It gives me great pleasure to say that the rebuilding of the church is already in progress. I, along with other city officials and planners, will further anticipate rebuilding a firm, indestructible and secure church. The murderers involved in this heinous crime will be punished to the full extent of the law. Justice will be served. Thank you, and God bless this city.”

The Mayor walked down the stairs from the podium, bombarded with microphones. The reporters met the stiff-arms of his heavy security while the Mayor entered the safety and privacy of his limousine.

The Mayor said, “Driver, get me the fuck away from those bastards, please.”

The driver raced towards the end of the street to beat a red light. The Mayor noticed a few missed calls displayed on the caller ID of his limo phone. He listened to his voicemail.

“That 7:30 meeting was interrupted. A third party intercepted the target. The Pursuers are here.”

Click.

“Damn!” He slammed the limo phone down. “Why am I getting the impression that the Gemini might still be too inexperienced for this campaign?”

The driver answered, ”Give it time, they’ll soon collect themselves.”

The Mayor responded, “Unfortunately, time is not our friend right now. Trial and error is no longer acceptable. Not on my watch.”

He picked up his phone again as the limo driver reached the Mayor’s destination.

The Mayor said, “Nancy, Sweetheart, would you be a doll and set up a meeting with Mr. Anderson, that anchor from ZDYX, please?”

Nancy answered, “Yes, Mr. Valchini. Is there anything else you would want me to do for you?”

The Mayor answered, “We’ll discuss that later.”

The newly found Bookkeeper entered his house. His dogs ran to his side wagging their tails in excitement. Sweating and almost out of breath, he’s plagued with paranoia. “Mr. Anderson, is everything ok?” his trustworthy dog-walker asked.

Mr. Anderson ignored her question. “I need you to keep the dogs for a week. Something’s come up, and I need to head out of town for a while.”

The dog-walker replied, “What are you talking about? Relax for a second and breathe. Take it easy.”

Mr. Anderson answered, “There’s no time for this. I’ll double your pay for the sudden inconvenience. I just need you to trust me on this and take care of them for me, please! Or, someone else will just have to get my money.”
