Ryder
smiled at me. “Usually that’s how it works but since this is the first time
we’re doing this I want to look into your eyes just like we did when we made
love for the first time.”

I
remembered that night when Ryder insisted I keep my eyes locked with his and it
was beautiful. “Okay,” I breathed. I knew that this was just as important to me
as it was to him. I nodded and did as he asked, rolling onto my back with his
fingers still inside me.

I
moaned loudly as he continued to move his fingers in and out and I felt a
shiver of excitement when he suddenly pulled them away. “Are you ready gorgeous?”

I
bit my lip and nodded. “I’m ready.”

“Listen,
I know we both want this, but if at any time this hurts and gets to be too much
you tell me and I will stop, okay?”

“Okay,”
I said, desperate for him to enter me.

“You
promise, Evie?”

“I
promise, Ryder.”

Taking
his dick into his hand, he stroked himself a few times before he positioned the
head of his length at my opening. “When I start to slide in you need to bear
down, like you are trying to push me back out, okay? That will make it easier.”

I
nodded and pushed against him, dying to feel him deep inside me. “Ryder,
please!” I said loudly.

Our
eyes locked together and he said, “I love you,” before he started to enter me
in a place no one had ever been.

My
eyes widened in shock at the feeling of him sliding in. I could imagine that it
burned like this for everyone, but I’m pretty sure that this was like
everything I’d ever experienced with Ryder…a thousand times more intense.

He
sucked in a breath and grunted, “Oh holy shit, Evie!” I fought the urge to squeeze
my eyes shut as he slowly rocked his hips, inching further and further inside.
“Are you okay, baby?”

I
nodded, wanting more than anything for him to be all the way in so the burn
would go away. Sensing that I needed a distraction, he moved his fingers to my
swollen clit and rubbed it in quick circles. Sparks of pleasure shot through me
and I relaxed enough for him to ease into me even more.

He
eased in and out of me, getting adjusted while continuing to rub me faster.
Just when my body was about to fall to pieces from both passion and pain, he
growled and thrust his hips and suddenly he was all the way in.

We
both looked into each other’s eyes and gasped. He was fully inside me for only
a few seconds before I exploded in an orgasm I hadn’t even realized was
building. I screamed loudly in pleasure as he started to move in and out. I
could tell his orgasm was building with each thrust and he was barely holding
on. “Ryder,” I moaned, “come inside me please!”

“Not…not
in here,” he said through gritted teeth. Before I could ask what he meant he
quickly pulled out of my bottom and slammed his hard erection into my dampness
causing me to cry out again. As he thrust his hips into my wet folds he leaned
in and kissed me before saying, “That felt amazing but when I come I want it to
be right here, my favorite place in the world.”

“Please,”
I begged, “let go for me. Come inside me,” I repeated. This was the most
amazing sex I’d ever had in my life and after my orgasm I was utterly spent…my
body felt like it couldn’t take any more.

Neither
of us spoke as he thrust a few more times and his body went rigid as he emptied
himself inside me. His orgasm went on and on and I relished the feeling of his
release. After what seemed like forever he collapsed on top of me, his body hot
and sweaty. “Ev-vie,” he panted, “that was ph-phenomenal.”

As
I struggled to catch my breath I grinned at him. “Wow, you’re stuttering and
everything. I must have rocked your world,” I joked.

I
felt him smile against my neck and he kissed it a few times before he chuckled.
“Never were truer words spoken. You’ve not only rocked it, gorgeous, you’ve
completely flipped it upside fucking down.” I laughed as he lifted his head to
meet my gaze. His piercing blue eyes bore into mine, searching them for something.
“Seriously, Evie, how do you feel? Did I hurt you?”

I
shook my head. “No, of course not. I mean, it did burn at first,” I admitted
and he winced, “but only for a moment. Once you were all the way in it was…I, I
can’t even try to explain how amazing it felt.”

“It
never felt like that for me before, that’s for sure. Everything is better with
you…it always will be,” he said, touching his nose to mine.

I
sighed and smiled. “Always, huh? That’s a long time, rock star. Are you sure
you can handle me that long?”

“I
want to handle you in every way for the rest of my life,” he said sincerely. “I
love you, Everleigh.”

I
raised my hand and combed through his hair with my fingers. He let out a soft
moan of pleasure as my fingernails scratched his scalp. “I love you too,
Ryder.”

“Yeah?
How much do you love me?” he asked, kissing the corner of my mouth.

I
would have smiled and answered his question like I usually did but something in
his tone made me take notice. “You know I love you more than my own life. Why
are you asking me this? What’s wrong?”

He
shook his head and took a deep breath. “Nothing’s wrong. I just wanted to make
sure before I gave you your last birthday present.”

I
blinked and smiled. “There’s
more
? Ryder you bought me a diamond
bracelet, a diamond necklace, pearl earrings, an entire new wardrobe, you tried
to buy me a car, we had dinner at a beautiful restaurant, and we just had the
most amazing sex of our lives. Now you are telling me there is
more
? You
have to stop,” I laughed. “This has already been the best birthday ever.”

Ryder
smiled and his blue eyes sparkled in the light of the moon streaming through
the window. “This is the last one, I promise, and it’s small.”

I
sighed and faked annoyance. “Okay, give it to me then.”

A
sexy grin spread across his lips and he said, “I love it every time you say
that to me, gorgeous.” He kissed me quickly before he moved off my body and
leaned into the nightstand on his side of the bed. “Okay,” he said taking a
deep breath, “are you ready for your last birthday gift?” Whatever the present
was it really was small because it fit comfortably in his hand.

“Yes,
I’m ready.”

His
eyebrows rose up and he said, “Are you really sure you’re ready for this gift?
Because it’s kind of huge.”

I
giggled and I said, “Come on, Ryder, knock it off. Just let me see what it is!”

“Okay,
Evie, hold out your hand. Your left hand to be exact,” Ryder said, his voice
calm but with an edge of nervousness.

My
hand…my left hand…oh my God…as I put the pieces together in my head I held out my
shaking hand. “Ryder,” I whispered.

“Turn
your hand over,” he said, and I twisted my hand so my palm was facing down. I
felt a lump in my throat and for the first time in a
very
long time, I
knew I was about to cry tears of joy.

Ryder
took my quivering hand in his and wasted no time in taking my ring finger and
sliding the most breathtaking emerald-cut canary diamond ring onto it. My eyes
were rapidly filling with tears as I heard him whisper the three most important
words he’d ever said to me. “Marry me, Everleigh?”

Two
big fat tears fell from my eyes and it took less than half a second before I
said, “Yes. Yes, yes, yes. I will marry you, Ryder Matthews.”

“Yeah?”
he said, his excitement almost lighting the room.

“Yeah,”
I replied and his lips were on mine in a flash.

He
kissed me deeply for a few moments before he stopped long enough to say,
“When?”

I
smiled and asked him, “What do you mean, ‘when’?”

“When
will you marry me?” he asked lightheartedly.

I
giggled loudly and wiped a few tears away with my free hand. “We’ve not even
been engaged for thirty seconds and you already want to seal the deal? Are we
pregnant?” I joked.

He
laughed and said, “Don’t put that image in my head yet because I might just
throw out your birth control right now and spend the night trying to knock you
up,” and I smiled at him. A warm feeling spread through me as I had a mental
flash in my mind of my stomach round and swollen with Ryder’s child…
our
child. “You just gave me everything I’ve ever wanted by agreeing to be my wife,
Evie. I want to marry you and lock you down before you have the chance to
escape.” I laughed even harder.

“Oh,
I’m not going anywhere, rock star. You will
always
be my escape,” I
said, leaning up and kissing his eyes.

“You
still didn’t answer my question, gorgeous,” he said, still smiling. “When will
you marry me?”

I
took a deep breath and sighed from a place that was deep and happy. Looking
into his eyes again, I felt a weight lift off me and I said, “How about now?”

His
lips were back on mine before I could take another breath and our tongues
danced for a few moments before he reluctantly pulled away. He quickly flicked
on the light and handed me my phone. “Call everyone and then get dressed. Don’t
pack because we can buy clothes when we get there.”

I
took my phone from him and smiling so wide my face actually hurt, I asked, “And
where exactly is ‘there’?”

He
stood up and walked to our dresser. “Vegas, baby,” he said, winking at me and
throwing my silk robe onto the bed for me to slide on. “Unless you want to get
married somewhere else. I know eloping in Las Vegas is a little cheesy and
cliché, but…”

I
held up my hand to stop him. I stood, pulling on my robe and walked over to
him. Wrapping my arms around his waist I said, “I love cheesy and cliché.
You’ve seen my big ugly mustache necklace, right?” He chuckled and I continued,
“The location doesn’t matter to me at all. I love you so much and would marry
you anywhere, rock star.”

He
sighed happily and said, “So are we really doing this? Are you really going to
be my wife soon or am I just dreaming?”

“If
it’s a dream it’s one I hope I never wake from. I can’t wait to be your wife
and officially be Everleigh Matthews.”

He
groaned and said, “Fuck, Evie. We need to get this show on the road because
hearing you call yourself that just now gave me an instant boner.”

Laughing,
I snuggled into him and said, “Well, put your gun back in the holster until
after the wedding because the next time we make love I want us to be husband
and wife.”

He
took my face into his large, warm hands and looked deeply into my eyes, the
love he had for me pouring out of his. “I knew that when you rolled your eyes
at me six months ago we’d be here, getting ready to fly to Vegas and get
married. God I’m a lucky bastard.”

I
placed my fingers around his wrists and said, “No way. I am the one that’s
lucky. I love you Ryder Matthews.”

“Love
you more, Everleigh Stone,” he said, kissing my lips lightly. “Come on, let’s
go get our forever.”

Chapter
7

Ryder

“I
can’t believe we are about to land in Vegas. I never thought I’d ever get to
come here,” Everleigh said, practically bouncing with excitement. “What should
we do first once we check into the hotel?”

I
kissed her left hand right where her engagement ring sparkled brightly. “I vote
for getting married to the most beautiful woman in the world.”

Everleigh
giggled. “Aw, come on, you don’t at least want to gamble a little first? I am
feeling all kinds of lucky right now.”

“You
are? Why is that?” I asked, gently nibbling on her fingers.

“Because
I am about to marry the love of my life with all of my family around me. Lucky
doesn’t even begin to describe what I feel.”

I
smiled warmly at her and pulled her into a deep kiss, breaking only to respond,
“Same here, gorgeous.” We made out like horny teenagers for a few moments until
we heard the captain tell us that we were making our descent into Las Vegas. I
made up my mind right then that there would be no gambling. I had to marry this
wonderful, beautiful, amazing girl as soon as possible so I could make love to
her again as my wife.

After
we finally landed, I held Everleigh’s hand in mine as we left the plane. We
quickly grabbed our luggage and waited by the baggage claim for everyone else
to meet up with us.

Danni
came running toward us and pulled Everleigh into a hug. “Hey there, bride to
be!” she squealed. “Are you ready to be Mrs. Matthews?”

She
snuggled back into my side and said, “Absolutely.” Thankfully, Danni had made
it to the airport in Cincinnati before our plane took off and she’d flown with
us. She’d decided after the drama in New York to go back home to Muncie for a
while to clear her head. We all missed her, but no one more than Beau. He loved
her and wanted her back and was taking her distance very hard. He’d been
hitting the bottle more and more every day. It seemed like he was slightly
buzzed all of the time now.
