MJ just smiled. Genuinely this time.

"I know nothing would make you happier than
to see us split up, MJ. But I'm telling you, it's true love between
me and that girl. Ain't nothing ever, ever gonna to tear us apart.
It’s Ally and Brad, together forever."

MJ took a step closer to Brad him he saw
that her blouse was unbuttoned far enough to reveal the section of
sexy black lace lingerie between her cleavage. He took a sharp
breath in and felt his cock go hard.

"You're right, Brad. Nothing would make me
happier than to see you guys split up." She shook her head and her
sumptuous, shining, dark red hair cascaded down her shoulders.

"Is that so?" Brad nodded his head. It was
all becoming very clear to him now. All the ball busting MJ had
given him over the last few months had only started since he began
dating her friend Alison. She had just been jealous all along. No
wonder. Well, how could he blame the chick? Basically, he had it
all going on. Anything a chick could want: good looks, humor,
charming to a fault. Good looks and uh… awesome lover in the sack,
when he wanted to be, obviously. Oh yeah, and good looks too.

MJ took a step closer towards him. Her flat
abdomen separated only from his by the pressure of her full breasts
softly against his chest. Brad looked down at the awesome,
bountiful cleavage he had always admired but so rarely seen. He
stared at her with a leer on his face as his cock began to
seriously stretch the fabric of his trousers. MJ put her hand to
his crotch and he took a sharp intake of breath. She gave him a
long grope and he purred his response.

"MJ." was all he could say. She grabbed his
belt buckle and pulled him towards her, lying back down on the
small table in the centre of the locker room. She pulled him down
on top of her.

"MJ, you should have said something." He
fidgeted with his zipper.

"I'm saying something now, aren't I?"

He smiled lecherously and then lowered his
head to her neck. She looked over his back towards the door with a
look of disgust on her face and then held up her phone. She hit the
send button on the text message she had prepared earlier.

'Ally! Locker room. Right Now. Urgent.' It
read.

Out front, Alison's phone beeped.

"Huh?" She said. "Daniel, can you cover for
a minute? I have to head out in back."

"Anytime." He said.
Hurry back though. I'll miss you.
He thought.

He watched her head back into the locker
room. The girls in the shop watched him watching her go back in to
the locker room.

When Alison opened the door, she couldn't
quite figure out what it was she was looking at.

She saw MJ's steely face staring straight at
her, her mobile phone in one hand, the other held high, pointing
down at the man on top of her. She didn't recognize the guy at
first, but when she heard the soft grunts as his belt came undone
and his pants slipped down over his ass there was no mistaking her
rolling stone lover.

"Brad?" She said, disbelieving.

"Oh yeah." MJ said.

Brad lifted his head and looked over his
shoulder.

"Jesus! God. Ally. It's not what it looks
like." He struggled to pull his pants back up and to lift himself
up from the woman below, but MJ held onto him, wrapping her strong
shapely legs around his back and trapping him in the moment of his
betrayal.

"Tell us Ally, what exactly does it look
like?" MJ asked, her hatred of Brad hissing through her teeth.

"Jesus. Alison..." MJ finally released him
and he pushed his junk awkwardly back into his pants, "...she just
came onto me all of a sudden and..."

"And you couldn't help yourself?" Alison
finished his sentence.

"Uh...something like that." He gave her his
goofy 'you caught me in the act' smile, one she recognized all too
well. Usually it was for having eaten the last of the peanut butter
or forgotten to get milk. He shrugged his shoulders.

"What can I tell you?" He said.

"How about ‘I’m a total douche bag’?" MJ
suggested.

Okay MJ, you got me. I’m
a total douche bag. Okay? Now are you happy?"

The grin was still on his smug,
good-looking, naughty little boy face.

"You're fired, douche bag. Now I’m happy.
How about you?"

His expression finally went serious. MJ’s
grin flourished in inverse proportion.

"What?” He squawked.
"You're firing me for screwing
you
in the locker room?"

"No. I’m firing you for not showing up your
slimy, douche bag face for work for three days straight without
even a single call to give us a heads up. That’s why you’re fired.
Correction, you’re fired for not showing up without a call for two
days straight."

"Huh?"

"Don and I fired you yesterday."

"So what the hell did you bring me in here
for if I was fired yesterday--" The penny finally dropped. He hiked
up his pants and walked past Alison. She was still in shock,
staring at the wall behind MJ.

Brad looked at her.

"Ally," he said, "I hope this doesn't affect
you know, you and me."

Alison didn’t even look at his face as she
reached her hand between his legs and gripped whatever she could
get a hold of.

"Jesus, Ally!" He struggled to get his hands
onto hers but she had a good grip on something in there and he
didn’t dare yank her hand away.

"Out. I want you out of my apartment by this
afternoon. I don't want to see you there tonight. I don't want to
see you ever again."

"Ally." He whimpered and then put a hand to
her shoulder. She knocked it violently away and then released his
crotch.

"Don't touch me. Go. Go on. Get out. And so
help me if you are still there when I get back tonight--"

He didn't let her finish the sentence.
Before she was done, he was gone out the door.

MJ walked over to her devastated friend and
went to put her arms around her.

"Don't touch me." She whispered, still
looking at the wall.

"Please, Alison. You needed to know.
Please..."

"Don't touch me, just don't touch me." She
undid her apron and threw it on the ground.

"Take the rest of the day off Alison, MJ
said hurriedly. “I’ll take your shift, don't worry."

Alison gave her a cold stare, took her
jacket, and left the room, hot tears forming in her eyes.

Sebastian was just handing coffee to another
customer when Brad came rushing past him, nearly knocking the cup
from his hand.

"What the--" He shouted. "I'm sorry, ma'am."
He apologized to the customer. "I better see what's going on out
back, if you'll excuse me a moment?"

He was halfway down the hall when he saw
Alison emerge from the locker room almost at run. Rage swelled in
his chest as he saw that she was upset. She almost fell over
as she collided directly with him in the narrow corridor, but his
powerful frame absorbed the impact and he steadied her shoulders
with his strong hands.

"Alison, what's wrong? You nearly floored
me." He looked down and saw her tear stained cheeks. His face
changed to one of intense concern. "Alison." He said, trying to
control himself. "Tell me, what is it? What's happened? Tell me
right now."

She looked up at him and the depth of
concern in his eyes only made things worse, she tried to pull away
from him but then gave up and collapsed in his arms. He held her
firmly to him, supporting her weight as though it were nothing. He
softly stroked her beautiful blonde hair and whispered into her
ear.

"It's okay, Ally. Everything’s going to be
okay. Whatever it is, we can

take care of it."
Just tell me sweetheart, anything, and I'll make
it alright, I swear it.

The sound of his deep, caring masculine
voice made her almost believe it. He was so strong, so physically
powerful. Maybe he really could take care of her? Maybe he really
could sort out all of her problems, no matter how big they seemed
to be.

MJ was horrified to see her friend in the
rookie barista's arms when she emerged from the locker room.

"I don't believe it!" She hissed. Literally
straight into the arms of another minimum wage loser.

"MJ." He said. "What's the problem? She
won't talk to me. What's going on?"

A sardonic smile came to MJ’s face.

"Her sad sack loser of a boyfriend just came
onto me is all--"

He didn’t allow her to finish the
sentence.

"Stay here." He growled to Alison. "Stay
here." He ordered MJ. "I'm going to mash that weasel into the trash
out back when I get him." He headed for the door.

"Do that and you're fired." MJ warned him.
"As much as I would love to see that, I need you out front right
now. Alison is going home and I need someone pouring coffee out
there."

He turned to Alison. He didn't care what MJ
had to say, all he wanted was the word from the woman who had
obsessed his thoughts day and night for the last four days.

She shook her head.

It was a bitter disappointment, but if that
was what she wanted, then so be it.

Although she was touched by his concern for
her and crazily turned on by his possessive jealousy, as misplaced
as it might be, still, she just wanted Brad out of the apartment,
not beaten up. Worse, the guy might take him to court over it
hoping to make some money, or even worse yet, stay holed up in her
apartment for days while his cuts and bruises healed.

Most of all, she didn’t need another guy in
her life complicating things.

"I don’t need you to fight my battles for
me." She said.

"I'm taking you home then." He said and
undid his apron.

"Do that and you're fired as well." MJ half
hoped he would do it. She did need him out on the busy floor, but
maybe it would be worth an afternoon of pain in order to get rid of
both penniless love rats in one go rather than let Alison do one of
her crazy loser-to-loser rebounds.

Sebastian ignored her and MJ just barely
concealed her smirk.

"Alison, come with me." He said.

"I'm not going home." She said. "I need to
be alone. Just leave me alone. Please."

Sebastian scowled, but finally let her go,
his intense gaze following her out through the back of the
shop.

"Don't even think about it." MJ warned him.
"She needs someone who can take care of her. Not another guy whose
rent she has to pay."

Sebastian didn't respond. His dark look to
MJ as he returned to his station said it all. He didn't care one
bit about what she said. He would do whatever he liked. If he was
sticking around, it was only because of Alison.

MJ knew she had trouble, but she was up for
the fight.

One down, one to
go.
She thought.
Halfway there...

Chapter Eight

The next 24 hours were a nightmare for Sebastian. Not
knowing exactly where Alison was at every moment drove him insane
with worry. He wanted her more than ever and the plan had been to
get her into Daniel Johnson’s bed, where he could then reveal to
her who he really was. But he had been too slow. MJ was ahead of
the game and now he had no way of knowing what she was thinking and
no way of getting to her. At least his security people were keeping
tabs on her though, but the updates were intermittent and torturous
at best.

He had followed her out to Long Island,
watched her walk alone for hours, drink coffee alone, and sit on
the seafront for hours, staring into the waves. He longed to go and
be with her. To take her home. To take care of her.

His anger nearly boiled over when he heard
that Brad had stolen some of her possessions including an iPod,
some jewelry, and $20 in cash. Naturally, he had Brad roughed up
and the items returned, but it had been too late to put them back
without her noticing. He had them packaged up and would return them
to her at some more appropriate time.

The security detail who followed her called
to let him know that she would take the bus to work as usual the
following morning. He made sure to be on it just one stop ahead of
hers as his 7:30 a.m. pickup was part of his daily subterfuge.
Sure, he wanted to fake his background, find the right girl, and
make her love him for all the right reasons, but he didn't plan on
living an $18,000 a year lifestyle. That would be too much. While
he took the bus to work every day as part of his cover, he rode to
the nearest stop in a limo. A quick walk around the block and he
was just another face in the crowd.

His heart jumped when he saw her. She was so
downhearted that she never even noticed him.

He hesitated, which was totally out of
character for him. His heart raced when she sat down right behind
him.

The bus lumbered along in the morning
traffic and Alison rested her tired head on the window beside her.
She was grateful for the inside seat and to be able to rest her
head on glass on her way to work. A jerk from the bus opened her
eyes and she noticed the shoulders in the seat in front of her.

She didn’t recognize the tall man in front
of her, but everything about him looked successful, commanding, and
powerful. Everything that Brad wasn't. Maybe MJ was right. Maybe
she needed to ditch the losers and look for someone who was a
winner in life. A man who would go out and wrestle the things he
needed from the world, a man who would come and take her, sweep her
off her feet and out of this crazy life she had fallen into.

From her big dreams of coming to the city
and getting into acting and writing, somehow she had ended up in a
grey routine of going to her dead end job, drinking with the girls,
sleeping and then going to work again the next day. She felt
trapped and alone, stuck in her own personal hamster wheel.
