“You’ve been on my mind too.” She reached up for him.

They started off slowly with long, deep kisses as he dug his hands in her damp hair. Head sucked and licked her nipples until they looked like two copper nickels.

Cartier moaned as his strong hands groped her body. As he began to nibble passionately on her neck, she squealed with delight.

After putting on a condom, Head pressed his dick against the opening of her pussy and applied a controlled pressure. As Cartier’s vagina resisted, he pushed harder, until the tip burst through. He teased her for a minute, just rocking his tip in and out. As her pussy walls opened wider, he sank deeper inside her juicy cave, his strong pelvis rocking back and forth, keeping a steady rhythm.

As he gently made love to her, the moment felt surreal. Was she really in a hotel room having an affair, getting slayed lovely by a perfect stranger?

As the moment intensified, she wrapped her legs around Head’s waist, and they both gripped each other tightly.

“I’m getting ready to cum,” he murmured. “Ahhhhh, I’m cumming.”

“Me too,” she crooned.

As Head came, he whispered in her ear, “You got a nigga whipped.”

Cartier felt euphoric. “That was so good.”

Head chuckled, “I know a few positions…”

Chapter 23

Doing It and Doing It Well

One day later, Head and Cartier were still held up in the hotel, cell phones off, tuning out the world. Cartier knew it was reckless and irresponsible, but she couldn’t see past her selfish needs to care about others, and for the moment, that included her kids. She knew they were in good hands with her mother. She just needed this escape from all the drama and a broken marriage.

For hours Cartier droned on and on about her worries—marriage, kids, Trina, Monya, Shanine, their beef, and her current circumstance.

“So who’s the kid y’all got beef with?”

“His name is Ryan.”

“Ryan? From where?”

“He’s from Harlem. You heard of him?”

Head seemed to hesitate. “Nah, not at all.”

“Well, what’s messed up is that he and I used to kick it back in the day, and I thought he was cool with all The Cartel members. I know that’s why they had their guard down, on the strength of my relationship with him, and look how that turned out.”

Head gave Cartier a long, sensual kiss. “You’re putting too much blame on your shoulders. Spread some of that guilt around. Shanine and Monya made their own choices, and so did Ryan.”

“What are we doing? I’m risking everything, and I don’t know if, when you walk out of that door, I’ll see you again. Is this just a sex thing?”

“Well, ask me then.”

“Will I? Am I going to see you again?”

“As long as you need me, I’m here for you. From the first moment I saw you, I wanted you. Something pulled me to you, and that doesn’t happen often.”

“Speaking of our first meeting, how did you get my number when I didn’t give it to you?”

“I have my resources,” Head replied and smiled cockily.

“So you’re not going to tell me?”

Head shook his head no, torturing the curious Cartier but also leaving her intrigued.

“But why me?”

“Why not you? Please don’t let me find out you’re insecure, because I’m telling you now, you don’t have a reason to be.”

“Nah, it’s not that. But you know it’s hard for me to put my feelings into another man. I did that with my husband, and he slept with my best friend. I want to know that if I give you my heart, you won’t break it. That I can always be myself and not have to put on.”

“That’s what I wanted from you from jump. Remember you wanted to start off lying about whether or not you were ’sleep. Ma, that’s petty. I always want you to be yourself and keep it one hundred.”

“So you’d be able to accept me and all my baggage? My two kids and crazy mother, the whole nine?”

“Cartier, listen. There aren’t too many dudes out here like me. I play by all the rules. Under the tutelage of Nut, I learned a lot. Unfortunately, I didn’t fully comprehend what he was trying to drill into my thick skull until it was almost too late. I was lucky. I got another shot. My man didn’t get the same chance I got. He had a good girl who went down for the count. She’s doing life now in a fed pen because she didn’t give him up. That shit broke his heart, but he moved on and hooked up with Tawana. I want a girl who would do a bid for me, but I also want to be the man who would never allow my girl to do a bid for me. What Jason got you in, this beef with this Ryan kid, ain’t how I would have handled things. I would have tucked you and my family safely away and not let you out until Ryan and everyone he loved was dead.”

“He was trying his hardest to get at—”

“That’s bullshit, baby girl. It doesn’t take a year to dead anyone. Not even the President of the United States. You told me he said make sure you go out each day with your pistol. If you were mines, I wouldn’t ever want you to touch that steel. You’re a lady.”

“But I was handling mines way before I hooked up with him. He didn’t create a gangster chick; he married one.”

“Well, I’ma marry a lady. And although I love your gangster, after a while it wears thin and that ride or die pledge was only for the moment, not a lifetime. I’m looking for somebody to wife who isn’t all consumed about being seen in the streets with the biggest nigga on the block.”

Cartier pouted. Was he saying that she wasn’t good enough for him to marry?

“Good luck on finding your trampy lady to marry.”

“Why she gotta be a tramp? Just because she gave me her goodies on the first night certainly doesn’t make her a tramp.”

“Ohh.” Cartier’s smile stretched a mile. “You mean me?”

“I should hope so.”

“But you don’t even know me. And I’m married.”

“Divorce dude. He’s lame anyway.”

Cartier leaned over and gave him a soft kiss. “And what about Tawana?”

Head returned the kiss and began massaging her lower back. “I would have never approached you if there was still a her and me. That part of my life is over. I’m hoping to start a new chapter with you.”

Head raised his hands and began to gently pinch Cartier’s nipples. She was naked, except for her Omega watch. And he was lying on his back, naked as well, on top of the comforter.

“Your skin is so soft.” He removed his hands, propped behind his head, a large grin spreading across his face. “Hey, wifey,” he said.

“Hi, daddy,” she purred and rubbed up against him.

Slowly she slid down and began kissing from the base of his ankle, his calves, behind his knees, and once she reached his pelvis, his dick was standing at attention. Cartier smiled, opened her mouth, and engulfed his large black penis.

Cartier knew Head had that good dick. The type of penis that got you wet by just looking at it. He didn’t even have to touch her, and she was oozing with excitement. No wonder he didn’t have to convince her to lay up with him. After making love to Jason’s average-sized penis, Cartier felt like she’d been eating tofu for years, and now she was chowing down on steak.

She played around with the tip, nibbling at first. Then she began to deep-throat his massive penis. Her mouth went up and down, her saliva leaving traces that she’d been there.

Head began to rock his pelvis out of sheer pleasure and dug his hands into Cartier’s layered hairstyle.

In between licks, she said, “It feel good, daddy?”

“Damn, baby! You fuck me so good.”

“You like this?” She jerked his dick with her hands, sucking the tip.

“Ohhhh, yes-s-s!”

Cartier continued to give Head a blowjob, occasionally peeking up at him to see the look of pleasure plastered on his face.

“I’m about to cum,” he moaned. “I’m about to cum.”

Head exploded inside her mouth, and as the hot juices entered her throat, she swallowed every bit of it until he was done. She felt so freaky and hot, she was beyond cooling down.

Immediately, Head flipped her over, spread her legs wide, and began to taste her pussy juices. He sucked on her clit until he heard her moan in pleasure. Then he began to gently nibble and bite down on her clitoris, while his two fingers explored her vagina.

Cartier began to grind her hips in slow motion, getting lost in the moment. When it started getting really good to her, she took his head and smashed his face in her pussy and grinded harder.

“Your pussy taste sweeter than candy.”

“Eat it all up, daddy.”

“No doubt.”

Soon after, Head wrapped up his penis, mounted Cartier and eased into her slippery pussy and began to hit her G-spot with precision. Cartier’s French manicure dug into his muscular back as they came together. Intertwined between Cartier’s toned legs, the newly bonded drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Chapter 24

Soap Opera Drama

Trina hated to be interrupted when she was watching her soap operas. It was her only time of the day to relax before the kids came home from school. Aimlessly, she answered the phone but didn’t say a word. She was too busy hanging on to Erica Kane’s every word.

“Hello?” the male caller said.

“Yeah.”

“Trina?”

“Yeah, who’s this?” Trina asked. Only, she truly didn’t care.

“Where’s your daughter?” the now familiar voice demanded.

“Jason?”

“Yo, tell Cartier I’m getting out of here soon and I want my Benz, and y’all better get the fuck outta my house. And tell her grimy ass—”

“You know I’m not going to pass no message like that!”

“I want y’all outta my house, yo! Now, I’m asking nicely. A nigga ain’t fucked up no more.”

“Jason, I think the person you need to be talking to is—Hello? Hello?”

The phone went dead.

Trina jumped up and ran to the front parlor and peered out the window. Was Jason out the hospital? Was he going to kick in the door, blazing?

After going through the house and checking all doors and windows, she was startled when she heard keys jangling. She was too far from her room to get the gun she kept underneath her mattress, so she ran to the kitchen and grabbed a butcher’s knife. With the knife held high, Trina hid near the butler’s pantry until she heard the faint clicking of heels. She exhaled and placed the knife back down.

“Cartier, come in here, now!”

“What’s up?” Cartier didn’t pick up the panic or urgency in her mother’s voice, but when they were eye to eye, she knew something was terribly wrong.

“Jason just called here beefing. He said he’s getting out the hospital and he wants us out of here and that he also wants his ride.”

“Fuck that nigga. I don’t give a fuck what he wants! His cripple ass got a lot of nerve, barking orders. He should know by now, fear don’t pump through these veins.”

“I know I ain’t raise no punk, but we’re both playing with fire. Jason don’t sound in his right mind. And you’re forgetting one thing.”

“What’s that?”

“He knows where we live.”

“Ma, we changed all the locks.”

“And? What does that mean? All he gotta do is lay low outside and fill you with just as many holes as you filled him with.”

“He ain’t gonna do shit.”

Cartier was full of bravado. She and Head were going strong, and he’d promised that he wasn’t going to let anything happen to her.

“Now tell me again, what did he say?”

“Cartier, come sit down.” Trina pulled out the kitchen chair. “I’ve always supported the decisions that you’ve made, even if they were emotional or foolish decisions. I think you need to stop taking everyone for granted.”

Cartier plopped down in the seat. “How am I taking people for granted?”

“I told you that you need to finish what you started. I’m too old to be wondering each night I lay my head down to sleep if I’m going to wake up in the morning. And I’m too old to be worrying about whether or not when I open the door to let my kids or grandkids out for school, if they’re going to get hit with a barrage of bullets meant for either you or me.”

“Ain’t nothing gonna—”

“Shut up!” Trina yelled, quieting Cartier instantly. “And listen to what I have to say. Now you’ve made a mess, and you need to fix it. You made the decision to try and kill Jason, and you fucked up. My advice was to drain the nigga and run his pockets, but you chose a different route. I’m telling you, you gotta dead Jason, and do it fast. He’s a loose end, Cartier, and I can’t have our lives in his hands while he decides whether or not he’s going to seek revenge. And what about Ryan? And now this new Marisol chick? You getting sloppy. I can feel that something is going to happen.”

Cartier still resented what Jason had done to her, but she honestly couldn’t imagine having the hate, courage, and gumption to pull the trigger on him once again. In fact, she was emphatic that she couldn’t do it a second time, unless she was backed into a corner. Right now she was on a different mission. Falling for Head had taken her focus off of Jason. Head was slowly repairing her broken heart. If Jason was ready to call it a truce, for the sake of the kids, then so was she.

“I think you’re blowing this way out of proportion. First, I’m not getting sloppy. I’m still being alert, riding with my pistol, and also circling the block before I walk through here. And with the state of the art surveillance system, we’re as protected as we could be in here. The only place I’m vulnerable is on the streets, and with Head holding me down, not too many muthafuckas are going to try me.”

“So you got him open?”

“For sure.”

“Does he know about the beef with Ryan?”

“Yeah, we kicked it about that.”

“And what did he say? That he’s going to hold you down?”

“Nah, he said more than that. He said that he’s going to inherit my beef.”

“And what about Jason?”

“He said he’s going to handle all my beefs.”

“And are you sure he’s to be trusted?”

Cartier nodded her head. “Yeah, I trust him. Why? Because if he was planted by Ryan, we would already be dead. Having said that, I’m still alert and keeping one eye open. After what Jason did to me, I don’t think I will ever fully trust anyone but you. But I can’t go around always leery either. That’s no way to live.”
