Closing my eyes, I stepped away from the board as a possessive wave flowed through me for Bailey. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. She was not with that boy anymore. She was with me. I reminded myself. I should probably have felt guilty that I was the reason she wasn’t with him anymore, but I didn’t. Bailey was my soul mate. The one person in the world who was meant for me.

The more I studied every picture, the luckier I felt. Bailey’s love of her friends, family, and life show. The more I learned about her, the more I liked.

*****

Tonight I’d had to go to my club. I couldn’t hold off work any longer. I was losing a lot of money having shut down my Gold Coast clubs, but I couldn’t be there, and I didn’t want to chance any trouble when I couldn’t be there to help. I also had all my security up here helping with security for my family with the trial.

It was early hours in the morning as I finished drying my body before I got into bed and snuggled with a sleeping Bailey. The club closed at one on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Wednesday was Uni night and the club stayed open until two. Friday and Saturday through to Sunday the club was open until six in the morning. I had stayed well after closing time catching up on as much work as I could.

I’d asked Bailey when we arrived back at my parent’s house if she minded me going into work tonight so I could catch up on things that I’d fallen behind on.

“It’s fine. Go. It will be good. Not only do I have work that I could help Ethan with, but I’m going to go find Jessica and spend some time with her. Jessica wants to go home tomorrow. Your parent’s head of security Peter thinks it should be okay as the trial has started, and she is only my friend not hugely associated with the Silvermans. So we’ll probably watch a movie and gossip.” I was disappointed when she didn’t seem bothered at all. She actually seemed relieved, smiling at me.

Dropping the towel, I didn’t bother with boxers wanting to feel Bailey against me. The room was cooling down. It had been sweltering hot when I entered, the heater system in the room turned right up. I eased into bed and gathered her sleeping form to me groaning when she nestled against me and I felt she was naked. I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth as Bailey’s ass nestled against my now rock hard cock. Clenching my fists against her belly, I repeated to myself,
wait until tomorrow, wait until tomorrow. After we get the test back
. Over and over.

Flexing my hands, they brushed her bare breasts, and Bailey moaned rubbing her ass against my now throbbing dick. The little vixen was playing with fire and as her arse ground against my cock, my resolve broke, and I moved back and spread her legs, lifting the top one and settling it in against my thigh. I raised myself up, the quilt slid down, and Bailey’s rosy pointed nipples poked out teasing me further. She was so damn sexy and had no idea what she did to me. Kissing my way down her body, I slid under the covers and rested between her thighs with the quilt over my back. Placing her legs over my shoulders, I settled my mouth over her pussy and latched onto her clit. Bailey bucked her hips, the quilt cover left my back, and I looked up to see green eyes wide and her mouth opened on a gasp of pure pleasure. Sucking her clit in, I let it go and sunk my tongue into her core delving deep as I lapped at her. Bailey’s hands came to rest on my head, and she lifted her pussy up against him.

“Oh, Richard,” she panted out. “I thought I was dreaming.” I hummed against her core, happy to know she dreamed about me. Her fingers gripped at my hair pulling at the strands as I hummed. Lapping at her, I sank my tongue in and out of her core mimicking what I planned to do with my dick. Spreading her pussy lips, I sucked and shook my head back and forth just letting my lips touch her before I buried my face and licked back and forth.

“Oh, God. Oh, God. Richard. What are you doing to me? I need…Please, please. I need…Please.” She held my face against her pussy and I ate her as I plunged two digits deep and pumped them in and out.

Pure need, like nothing I’d ever felt before rushed through me begging me to sink my cock deep within her when she came. Moving up her body, I settled behind her and rubbed my dick against her pussy lips.

“Yes. Now. Please. Yes. Yes. Now.” She wiggled her ass against me, and I knew she felt the same burning need within her as I did.

Bailey drove me to the brink of control. I yanked her back to my chest, lining my cock up to her core, slipping between her wet folds and slammed home. A scream of pure pleasure came from Bailey. I pulled out and thrust back in again and again. She moaned and shoved back against me moving her hips until her moans turned into a scream as I hit just the right spot. Burying my head into her shoulder, I nibbled on her bare skin as I hammered into her.

Pounding into her, I basked in the tingling ecstasy building within me at the feel of my woman. Bailey’s hands reached out searching for something to hold onto as I drove into her with a punishing rhythm. Moving with each thrust, I inched her close enough for her to grab the bedside drawers. She held onto the table as I pounded into her. Her breathing was fast and her pussy was gripping me in a vice so tight that I knew she was coming. Biting down on her neck like a hungry animal, I growled as Bailey’s core clenched around my cock in a death grip.

Tightening my hold on her, I fought against her tight grip, and I pulled out one last time before I drove into her with a hard thrust as deep as I could go. I felt my cock throb and my balls draw up tight as I spilled my load deep within her.

Staying still, I lay against Bailey enjoying my euphoric state. That had been amazing. Gently placing a kiss against the already blossoming hickey, I feathered more kisses up and down her neck, and then nibbled on her earlobe before tugging on it. Bailey’s body relaxed against me and her hands let go of the bedside drawers.

“That was not what I expected, but wow. I was going to…I wanted to explore. But that was…” she trailed off and a shiver racked her body.

My dick twitched inside her at the movement. I didn’t want to leave my warm home. “You and me. We’re amazing.”

Bailey giggled and I closed my eyes savouring the sound. “You make me feel everything. Things I didn’t even know.” She brought her fingers to my own and threaded them together. “Thanks for tonight.” She yawned. “I needed something to remember until the next time we get a chance. Ethan gets out tomorrow and there is no way he will let these sleeping arrangements continue.” Bailey squeezed his fingers.

Easing out of her, I sighed at the loss of her heat. “I can promise you wherever you sleep, I will be beside you.” She groaned and squeezed me to her. I knew she didn’t believe me, but I meant what I said. Tomorrow she’d find out. I wasn’t sleeping alone again.

Chapter Eleven

Bailey

I was hiding from Gillian. My morning had started out great. I awoke snuggled against Richard’s naked form, my body well satisfied from last night’s wild romp. Who knew sex could make you feel like you were floating on clouds in heaven. On the bedside table sat a yellow arum lily. It was the first thing that came into focus. I didn’t move for a while, I just lay relaxed in Richard’s embrace, letting myself come fully awake slowly. It wasn’t until my morning fog started to clear and cool air hit my face that I sat up and frowned down at Richard as I remembered something about last night. What the hell? I had gone to bed clothed. Scooting to the end of the bed, I saw all my clothes thrown on my side of the bed.

“Morning beautiful.” Richard’s deep sleep filled husky voice sent a delicious shiver down my spine.

“Was I naked when you came to bed?” I turned to face him, tilting my head so I could focus better. I didn’t remember him taking off my clothes last night.

The sexy grin that spread over his face was panty wetting if I’d had any on I thought. “Yes. Which was a nice surprise to come to bed to.” He leaned over and yanked me to him, settling me between his legs and on his chest.

“I can assure you that isn’t how I went to sleep.”

Richard chuckled and his whole body vibrated underneath me. “Oh, I wonder who was sneaky. When I came home, the room was like a furnace, it was so hot. Did you let one of my brothers in the room?”

Moving up on his chest so I could see his face better, I shook my head. “No. The last person in our room was Jessica and your mother.”

His chuckle turned into a full-blown laugh. His whole body shook underneath me. I glared up at him, not finding this the least bit funny. “Oh, little Raven, I am sorry. Did Mother see what you were coming to bed in?”

“Oh, my God. You are not saying your mother turned up the heat in our room so it was boiling, and I would sleep naked.” I stared down at him horrified. I mean, Gillian his mother was full on, but I didn’t think…fuck, I remember some of her little questions last night as we watched movies and gossiped. Questions like, ‘how far away do you think grandchildren are for me?’ Or ‘I heard you were dating someone before Richard, did my sons charm win you over?’ Another ‘Richard just adores you, and you must not let the fact you’re only new stop you from having fun and getting to know one another.’ And one of the most embarrassing, ‘I learnt something from the cleaners as they came in and put fresh sheets on the bed the other night.’ I had wanted the sofa to swallow me whole as she mentioned my virginity. “Your mother is pure evil,” I mumbled.

Richard laughed, pulled me higher up, and then rolled so I was under him. “My mother has waited a long time, she feels, for me to find you. We Silverman don’t have daughters, so the only way Mother is going to get one is through her sons marrying.”

“You’re not that old, though.” He was still in his twenties.

“I am for the gift. I’m the oldest Silverman so far to find my mate. I turn thirty in February. From Silverman history, the others all found their soulmate before they were twenty-seven. Although with Ryder older than I am and Uncle Carl forty-five, they may become the oldest Silverman if they find their soulmate.”

Groaning, I eased out from under him. Richard was starting with the silly gift and soulmate stuff again. As much as I’d like to think that what Richard was saying were true, I didn’t believe in curses or gifts by a gypsy or any such nonsense. “Okay, then. I’m going to get a shower. I’m looking forward to Ethan being released.” I got out of the bed and went straight to the bathroom. I knew from talking to Richard that he really believed in what he was telling me, and I didn’t want to argue with him.

So that hadn’t been a bad morning. It was when I went downstairs ready to get breakfast and leave that my day changed. Gillian sat at the dining room table with a smile on her face that scared the hell out of me.

“You two are late down this morning. Jade and Stephan have already left for court. Lucas and Evelin went with them. Duncan and Carol decided to go on a cruise. The rest of the boys left for work or school, too.” Gillian stood as Richard and I came in. “Jessica is upstairs making sure she has everything ready to go. She didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye.”

I nodded and sat at the table with Richard sitting next to me. As soon as we sat, a maid came over and placed a plate full of my usual breakfast cereal in front of me. Richard had a plate full of bacon, eggs, a muffin, and toast on a plate. I started eating and hot chocolate was placed on the table for me. It felt strange having someone serve me and not having to get everything for myself. Even after the last couple of days, I wasn’t used to it and I wasn’t sure I ever would be.

Breakfast had been like every other morning since I arrived here. It was after breakfast that things changed. Instead of going to go visit my brother in the hospital, and help him get ready to get out and come here, I said goodbye to Jessica and then Gillian snagged me.

“Bailey, Richard can get your brother from the hospital. You’ll see Ethan when they come here. I insist you spend the day with me. We can have fun getting to know each other.”

I should have said no thank you, or even made an excuse as to why I couldn’t be with her, but no, I said, “Oh, sure.”

“Great. Go get changed out of your home wear and into something nice.”

I looked down at my dark blue jeans and black tank top, unsure what Gillian meant. These weren’t my yoga pants or tracksuits. These were my going out clothes. Turning my gaze to Gillian, I saw her make-up was flawless, her dress looked expensive, and I didn’t need to see her shoes to know they would match perfectly with the rest of her style. “I, um, I am changed.”

Still staring at Gillian, I watched her eyes widen and then she gazed behind me at Richard. “Did you give her the dresses I bought for her?” Darting my gaze to Richard, it took me a moment to focus so I could see him. He opened his mouth and started to say no, but he didn’t get it fully out before Gillian held her hand up at him halting his response. “Of course, you didn’t. What am I going to do with you?” Gillian stood. “Never mind. Shoo. Come, Bailey. I’ll help you.”

Before I could protest, Gillian came to me, grabbed my hand and I stood following her as she dragged me back to Richard’s bedroom. I looked behind me to see Richard’s retreating figure, the bastard.

A side of Richard’s closet now held about a dozen or so dresses. I couldn’t believe I’d missed them earlier when I’d gotten changed. Gillian chose a dark green dress with thick black lining. She put the dress over her arm, then pressed a button and the closet opened to reveal ten high heeled shoes stacked in their apartments. Gillian picked black Mary Janes.

Holding the dress and shoes, she turned back to me. “Come on now, don’t be shy. Take your clothes off and start getting dressed into these.” Glancing behind me to where I knew the bathroom to be, I backed up. Gillian’s hand circled my arm stopping my retreat. “No need to be shy. We are all girls here.” She huffed. “I’m sure you don’t have anything I haven’t seen before.” She let go of me and clapped her hand. “Now, come. We don’t have all day to stand here.”

I wasn’t going to be able to get away. Resigned to my fate, I slipped off my black sandals and undid the button on my jeans and eased them off not bothering to pick them up, but flicked them with my foot to Richard’s side. I’d pick them up later. I then yanked my tank top off and chucked it with my jeans. I stood before Gillian in a black bikini style undies and a matching plain black bra.

Gillian tsked. “Another thing to add to our list today.” She sighed. “Here.” She held out the dress.

Gritting my teeth, I carefully took the dress from her outstretched hand. I was so close to snatching it, but I repeated,
must be nice, must be nice. This is Richard’s mother. Must be nice.
She hadn’t liked my clothes and now she didn’t like my damn underwear.

This should have clued me in on how my day would go, but no, I still didn’t come up with an excuse to run.

Once we got in the car with an army of bodyguards surrounding us, she launched into her, well, I’ll call it queries, but it felt more like an attack.

“It’s so great that we’re going to have this day just the two of us to get to know one another.” She grabbed my hand closer to hers and held it in her own. “I’m sure you have so much you want to know about Richard. About our family. I know there are so many things I want to ask you.”

Now here’s the part where I should have jumped out of the friggin moving car. I should have kept my mouth shut and not uttered a word, but I realized today, I’m nowhere near as smart as I thought I was because I said, “You can ask whatever you like.”

The gleam that came into Gillian’s eyes had a shiver of fear flowing through me. In my defence, I haven’t had a mother since I was six, so I didn’t know that calculating look.

“I know we touched on this briefly last night, but I had heard you were dating a boy before my Richard.”

“Yes. Toby. He’s a friend, but Toby and I have been friends for years, and I didn’t really feel any chemistry. We work better as friends. We parted ways a week or so ago.”

“Good. Good.” Gillian nodded. “So this Toby knows you’re with Richard now?”

Heat rose on my face, and I was sure I looked like a tomato. “Er, well, he knew about Richard. It was, um, well, he knew.” I didn’t want to say anymore. I felt so guilty already about how I treated Toby. I shouldn’t have led him on.

Gillian squeezed my hand. “I’m sure he knows.” The pressure of her grip released. “Now, I know you’re going to University next year, and you’ll be living with Richard.”

Now this was news to me. Richard hadn’t said anything yet to me. Well, he did go on about me being his and all that, but he hadn’t said anything about moving in with him. I had gone house hunting with him, and I knew he bought the house I liked. Did he buy because he thought I was going to live with him? Nibbling on my lip, nervous of my thoughts, I gazed to the side away from Gillian.

“I was wondering, though, how long you planned on being in Uni. You do know in February Richard will be thirty. Now, I know people are starting families later in life nowadays, and you are still young, but as I said, Richard is thirty, and if you wait too long, it just wouldn’t be fair for him to have too many little ones, and I know he wants at least five.” She smiled with a wishful look, and I wasn’t sure what to believe if she was talking about her wants or his. “It does take a lot of energy to keep up with children.” She patted my hand. “I’m so glad I had my children young. I could never imagine having them later in life.” She patted my arm. You do want children, don’t you?

I nodded. I did want children, I just didn’t think I would have any until I at least finished University and had worked a couple of years at the firm. “Yes,” I mumbled.

“I know you like them, I’ve seen the pictures. The statements we received have said you’re a favourite with the children.”

What did she mean she’d seen pictures and what Statements? This conversation was becoming stranger the more Gillian spoke. Now, I may not have had a mother since I was six, but I was sure this wasn’t what a boyfriend’s mother talked to you about. “What do you mean?”

Gillian let go of my hand and waved it in front of me. “You are seeing a Silverman. We are important people. We needed to find out about you so we would know if there were any problems. We’ve learnt from Stephan and Jade. Stephan may have had Jade looked into, but he should have dug further, and well, I don’t want to say but, well, maybe all this with the trial wouldn’t be happening.” Gillian sighed dramatically. “I’m not taking any chances with my sons.” Her gaze narrowed on mine. “I know Richard had you checked out, but I needed to know for myself.”

Holy crap, Gillian was scary. I knew my eyes were probably the size of saucers. I inched away from Gillian. How dare they have me looked into. I know what happened with Jade and the Silvermans being so well known made them careful, but I wasn’t the one who chased or even started this relationship with Richard. He was the one who started everything.

“Now, I know you haven’t had a mother in your life since moving in with Ethan. I don’t ever want to replace your own, but I’d like you to think of me as your mother now that you’re with my son. Today, I thought we could do some bonding.”

I had kept quiet and had been respectful all day while we were shopping for everything, starting with underwear, clothes, makeup to shoes. Now I loved shopping as much as the next girl did, but there was only so much I could take. By lunchtime, I had an extreme migraine from having to focus my eyes and keep my mouth shut.

Unable to focus anymore, we left a shoe store, and I bumped into something hard and fell to the ground. Brushing my hands off as I slowly stood, my knees hurt, and I was sure, when I had fallen, I’d hit something and cut it. Gillian came to me fussing, but I couldn’t hear her. I was focusing so hard on not being physically sick. I needed my medication. I needed somewhere to sit and to close my eyes and gather myself.

Ignoring Gillian, I closed my eyes, took a deep breath in, and slowly let it out, opening my eyes and using the little strength I had left to search for a bathroom or somewhere I could rest. Spotting the flashing exit sign with bathroom written below, I ran towards it not caring that I bumped into people or fell a couple more times before I reached my destination.
