Don’t miss the exciting conclusion to Souls of the Stones

Broken Stone

Coming May 2013

––––––––

Unable to avoid her destiny any longer, Emariya has become the leader her mother always envisioned. Before she can focus on embracing her gifts to unify her three lands, she must first stop her own land from dissolving into civil war. Spurred by her brother’s devious policies and thirst for power, the people of the Uplands have surged into revolt. If Emariya cannot convince her own people to stand down and follow her, she will never convince her uncle she can lead all three lands. And he’s only given her half a year to do it.

As she tries to win her own people’s hearts, the love of her life, Torian Ahlen begins to lose his mind. Driven into a dark depression by his visions of Terin, Emariya realizes the only way to bring him back from the brink is to confront her brother once and for all and rescue Torian’s sister. Unfortunately, because of the pull of the stones, his sister isn’t sure she wants to be rescued.

If Emariya is to have any chance at saving Torian’s mind and his sister’s virtue, she will have to go directly to the source, those that bestowed the gifts (or curse) in the first place. But will whoever is waiting at The Cradle Of The Three be willing to help her?

Acknowledgments:

In the months since
Cornerstone
was released, I have been on the biggest and best rollercoaster of my life. Though that may not be the best analogy, considering I hate rollercoasters. Regardless, it has been an amazing and wonderful journey. The incredible outpouring of both pride and support from my friends and family, from schoolmates I had lost touch with, distant relatives, and readers has often left me speechless. Each time someone else tells me how much they love the story I’ve woven, or how proud they are of me, my heart swells a bit more. Each message has meant so much. They’ve bolstered me when I became frustrated, and encouraged me when I’ve wondered what in the world I am doing. Thank you, all of you, for believing in me and for taking the time to remind me of it.

Many of you have joined me on my Facebook page, and I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate your company and support. You help me spread the word, laugh at myself, and keep procrastination at bay.

For seven years now, I have been blessed to call an amazing group of women my friends. To my MM Mommas: They say it takes a village to raise a child, but I now know, it takes a village to raise a mom, too. The incredible amount of love and support you ladies show me each and every day inspires me and keeps me moving forward. I am better for knowing each of you.

Since
Cornerstone,
my team has continued to grow. A lot of people have done a lot of work to bring you the best story possible.

My critique partners - John, Jason, Chuck, Jackie, Ben, Ardyth, Genna, Mandi and Ramona: There is a bit of each of you in Second Stone. I can never thank you all enough for helping me work through snags and holes, deadlines and complications.

Each of my beta readers has suffered through less than perfect drafts to help me nail down the story, ensuring that the tale that needs to be told comes through as strongly as possible. Lori, Shez, Tena and Liz (otherwise known as ‘Granny’): I appreciate each and every one of you.

And last but certainly not least, my editor, Ashley Davis. I give you charcoal, and you give me back diamonds.

About the Author

Her second promotion came with no raise in pay but a huge jump in responsibility when she became ‘Mom of two’. It’s a rewarding career but the retirement plan sucks. She is a huge advocate of animal rescue and adoption and shares her Virginia home (and couch) with three dogs and two cats.
