Petra looked up at him with those wide brown eyes. “What?”

It was an impulsive request, but the more he thought about it, the better it felt. “I have a fridge full of food and beer, and lots of coffee. We can figure out what you want to do next.”

“Your place?”

“It’s clean, I swear.” The appeal of seeing Petra in his condo was so strong there was no way he could vocalize it without sounding every bit as much the stalker as her caller. “I’ll make you something to eat and you can call Alice to let her know where you are. I’m sure she’ll be worried about you. I would be.”

Sagging against him, she nodded. “Okay.”

“My car is this way.”

She probably wasn’t up for anything other than simple conversation and a meal, but the thought of having her in his place, close to his bed... No, he was going to have to behave himself.

“It means a lot. Your offering this.” Petra stopped, turned and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Thanks.”

Darcy mumbled his response and spent the rest of the walk to the car fighting off his erection. He was bringing a frightened woman into his home while he had nothing but smut-filled fantasies running through his head.

Who was he kidding? There was no way he’d be able to keep his hands off her.

Idiot.

Chapter Eleven

I know I normally preach the opposite, but sometimes it’s nice to be the damsel in distress. If he thinks you’re worth fighting for, then he’s a keeper.

Petra was tired of surprises. The first had been that less-than-impressive voice mail. Then there’d been the realization that Darcy really was a practicing psychologist. Sure, she’d suspected, but the whole thing hadn’t really hit her until he’d started to come under fire. Getting into his Audi was almost enough to push her over the edge.

So as she stepped into his condo, Petra was about to snap. Nothing was computing any longer. Darcy wasn’t the ignorant Neanderthal she’s always supposed him to be. So far, the awards events hadn’t done anything for her web hits or ad impressions. And Alice, her best friend in the whole wide world, was mysteriously unable to take her calls.

Petra got as far as two steps into the living room before she stopped. “You’re rich.” Of course he was. It explained so much about him.

“I wouldn’t say rich. I’m a single guy with few expenses, a fair amount of disposable income and a serious stock portfolio. This apartment and the car are my two vices.”

She couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else if she owned a place this amazing. “You have a view of the lake.”

“Hmm? Do you want coffee?”

“No, thank you.” Darcy was a successful man with money and a reputation to defend. She was an unemployed blogger who got excited over free vibrators and a month’s supply of lube. “This isn’t going to work.”

The differences should have been obvious from their posts. Darcy had such a different life perspective from her, no wonder they were at each other’s throats over every topic from safe sex to action movies. If she was smart, Petra would get out of here, cut her losses and make sure PC never commented on

“Hey, are you okay?” Darcy came up beside her and gave her arm a squeeze. He’d undone the cuffs of his shirt and rolled the sleeves up to his elbows. “Can I get you anything?”

“I should leave. Thanks for the offer, but...yeah, I need to go.”

“Pet?”

“Sorry.”

She didn’t make it to the door before he’d wrapped an arm around her waist. It wasn’t so much that he kept her from leaving; she could have easily escaped, not that she really wanted to.

“What’s wrong? Have I made you uncomfortable?”

“No.” Fuck, why did he have to be so
nice?
“It’s just...”
My entire world is imploding.

“Come sit down. You’ve had a shitty day and you deserve a rest.”

Against her better judgment and the urge to want to run away, Petra let herself be led back inside. The couch was a soft fabric that swallowed her as she sat down. She could have easily fallen asleep here. It was easy to imagine Darcy here with a woman, entertaining or even seducing her. A beautiful, polished creature who would easily fit into his world.

His fingers brushed her face. “My place is freaking you out.”

“No.”
Yes
,
perceptive bastard.
“That would be dumb and irrational.”

“Actually, it would be normal. I honestly didn’t think it would bother you. You’re the first woman I’ve brought up here who didn’t react like I was some kind of cash cow ready to be milked.”

Petra cringed. “Seriously? I can’t imagine reacting that way to anyone.”

“That’s because you’re awesome. My ex-girlfriend had a different perspective than you.”

Letting go of her panic, Petra looked around the condo once more. The art was mainly black and white photos—people, buildings, lakes. The bookcase along the side wall held a number of thick textbooks, though there were a few novels thrown into the mix here and there. On a side table was a picture of Darcy, an older couple and someone who looked like a surfer.

“That’s my family.” He smiled at her. “I’m a bit of the black sheep, I’m afraid. They’re all computer experts or software developers.”

“And you’re a shrink.” It somehow seemed fitting that he didn’t conform to what must have been a bit of a family expectation.

“My mom had a nervous breakdown. I was a teen and impressionable. I saw how the doctors helped her and I wanted to do that for someone else.”

Of course he had to be noble on top of sexy. She touched her finger to the photo. “You seem happy.”

“We are. I don’t get to see them as much as I’d like, but that’s life.” He pushed a strand of hair from her cheek. “Did you want to call Alice?”

“She wasn’t home earlier when I called. I left a message.”

“Did you want to have a nap? I can make us something to eat and that will give you a chance to rest.”

Petra didn’t want him to be so pleasant. She’d been freaked out by some weird-ass stalker, and felt out of sorts in this place she could never afford. What she needed right then was to be distracted. Maybe that was the lamest reason for wanting sex, but right now it was the best she had.

Reaching over, she put her hand on his cock and gave it a squeeze. It only took a few seconds for Darcy to grow hard and his breathing to shallow. “Umm?”

“You talk a lot of crap online, Williams. You like to pretend like you’re some big frat boy with outdated notions of what women want and need. But you’re not like that at all. You’re a gentleman in jerk clothing.”

Darcy swallowed hard. “You’re no different. We all take refuge in the anonymity that being online offers us.”

“You’re always looking after other people, aren’t you?” She began to stroke him through his pants. “You’re worried about your brother getting that job, my website losing business, the committee’s public image, the people you work with.” With her free hand, Petra flicked open the top button of his shirt and began to play with his chest hair. “When do you worry about yourself?”

Darcy groaned as he leaned back against the couch. “Believe it or not, I didn’t bring you here to seduce you.”

“I appear to be the one doing the seducing, Mr. Williams.”

“Yes, but you also needed a time-out from all the stress and—”

“Are you seriously going to talk me out of having sex with you? Because if so, I might be forced to take drastic measures.”

“Oh?” Darcy’s smirk was quickly followed by a gasp. “How drastic are we talking?”

Petra went to work on the remaining buttons of his shirt as she stood up. “Pretty severe. You might be forced to get your couch cleaned.”

“Don’t worry. I had stain guard applied to it.”

“Good. I think we should test its effectiveness.”

“I’m not sure if wax is covered.”

“How about lube? Food?”

Darcy pulled back and cocked an eyebrow. “What do you mean
food?

“September fourth post.” With his shirt now wide open, she stepped away to admire her progress. “And now I know where your kitchen is.”

She could tell from the expression on his face that he was desperately trying to remember the topic of that particular day, which gave her ample time to abandon him and make her way to the kitchen.

Unsure of what she’d find, Petra squealed a bit when she saw the contents on the main shelf.

“Wait a minute. Wasn’t September fourth about creative uses for chocolate? I don’t have any, if you’re looking for sauce.”

“It was creative uses for desserts, actually. I just happened to use chocolate mousse as an example. But cherry cheesecake will work just as well.”

Petra was fairly certain she heard a muttered “Shit.”

Not wanting to take the remaining quarter of the cake, she cut the piece in half, scraping it into a cereal bowl. As an afterthought, she grabbed a spoon and the tea towel from the counter.

“You’re very neat for a bachelor.” Draping the towel over her arm, she carried her prize into the living room. “Your mother must be pleased.”

“My mom is a slob. It’s my dad who’s the neat freak.” Darcy was still sitting on the couch, but he’d tossed his shirt to the floor, along with his pants. Petra chuckled when she saw him. He simply shrugged. “Oops?”

“I might take back what I said about you being a gentleman.”

“Hey, I’m a healthy male. You’re a beautiful woman who has threatened to rub cheesecake over my body and then have sex with me.”

“I’ll give you that. But it means that I’m way overdressed.”

Darcy made a grabby motion with his hands, and Petra was forced to hand over the bowl and towel so she could undress.

It was different from the other two times they’d been together. As their relationship morphed, Petra’s comfort level grew, and even her perception of herself had begun to change. The old Petra would have made some excuse and found a reason to leave. A day ago, she would have shyly removed her shirt, her face flaming red as the clothing fell to the floor.

Not today. Turning her back to him, Petra made sure she was looking over her shoulder, smiling as much as she could while she gave her ass a wiggle. Darcy whistled when she pulled her shirt over her head and tossed it on top of the growing pile of clothing. The pants were next to go, leaving her only in her pink lace bra and panties.

“Now that is a sexy look.” Darcy dipped his finger into the cherry sauce, licking it off. “Very tasty.”

“Hey now. That’s not for you to eat.” She took the bowl from him and promptly slapped his hand when he tried to get it back. “I have plans for this.”

“Wanting to get some more practical knowledge for one of your posts?”

“Are you saying you don’t want me to rub cheesecake all over your cock so I have to lick it clean?”

She’d never seen a man move so fast before in her life. In little more than a few heartbeats, Darcy kicked his underwear free, sending it flying halfway across the room.

“Good boy.”

He spread his legs, putting his perfect cock on full display. No, the old Petra wouldn’t have known what to do with herself in a situation like this. Thank God the new version had her head on straight.

Using one of the pillows that had fallen to the floor, she knelt in front of him, setting the bowl beside him. Without a word, she used three fingers to scoop up a good chunk of the cheesecake and smooth it along the length of his cock.

Darcy gasped, but she didn’t stop. The mixture was cool against his heated flesh, sticking to the head and along the side of the shaft. She left him like that while she lifted her fingers to her mouth and sucked them clean. Keeping eye contact with him the whole time, Petra felt a rush of lust power through her.

“I made a bit of a mess.” She kept her voice soft, low, wanting to seduce him as much as she could. Yes, he was pretty much a sure bet, but she wanted more than a willing partner. Petra wanted him mad for her.

“Such a bad girl.” His voice was as rough as hers. “Come over to my place and get food everywhere.”

“Please don’t be mad at me.” She smiled, loving the way the muscle in his jaw jumped. “I’ll clean it up.”

“Every bit.”

Petra’s heart pounded as she lowered her head and took a deep breath. The mixture of male arousal and cherry was strangely intoxicating. Starting at the base of his shaft, she cleaned his cock with small licks. The sticky mess clung to his pubic hair and the wiry hair of his thighs. She wasn’t tidy at all, enjoying the way the cream cheese spread across his skin. It took several tries to clean up a single area, forcing her to go at a slow and steady pace.

Darcy’s hands found their way into her hair. At first he seemed content to simply enjoy her ministrations, but after several minutes of her licking, he began to direct where her mouth went.

“That’s it. Lick the head.” He gently pulled her head up, until she had no choice but to comply. “Suck me hard. Get it all.”

They were both groaning by the time she managed to get him mostly clean. She didn’t remember seeing his cock quite so hard before. The tip was purple and the vein was thick.

“Condom?” She licked her lips.

“Not safe with the food...might break or something.” He groaned. “I’ll get a cloth.”

The last thing she wanted was him going anywhere, for the sexual haze to be broken. Instead, she leaned on his thighs, preventing him from gaining any leverage. It had been a long time since she’d given a blowjob through to completion, but she was up for the challenge.

Changing her position to get comfortable, she ignored his protests and swallowed him down as far as she could manage. It was a silent battle at first, him lightly tugging on her hair, her digging her nails into his thighs and swallowing around his shaft.

She won.

Darcy finally relaxed beneath her when it became obvious she had no intention of stopping. With that done, she could finally focus on giving him the perfect blowjob. She scratched her nails along the underside of his balls, liking the way he shifted and widened his stance. The tip of her nail scraped along the sensitive skin, causing it to pucker under her touch.

The muscles in his legs started to tremble as she increased the suction, making sure to flick her tongue across the vein on the up stroke. It was easy to ignore the way her jaw ached and the pressure in her knees when she knew he was fighting the urge to come.

“Close,” he whispered, and tightened his hold in her hair. “Move back.”

Umm...no. Petra grabbed his shaft and moved her mouth to his tip. It didn’t take long to set up a rhythm she knew he wouldn’t be able to withstand. Darcy groaned, but gave in to what she wanted. It was wonderful. She sucked and stroked him until she tasted a burst of come.

“Fuck!”

His fingers dug into her hair as he fucked her mouth. Petra forgot everything, focusing on the bitter taste of his come, the burning need between her legs, and the strength of the man under her control.

Swallowing down as much as she could, she let the rest land where it would. Only once he released his hold on her hair did she drop her forehead to his thigh and chuckle.

“What?” He gave the back of her neck a squeeze.

“Nothing. That was awesome.”
