She sucked, swirled, pumped, twisted—did everything she
could to make this demon go wild. He latched onto her head, his fingers tangled
into her hair and he began to thrust into her movements.

In her excitement and unrestrained desire to please, her
teeth grazed his shaft. He growled, his muscles tightened and the grip on her
head became fierce. To confirm she wasn’t misreading him, she applied pressure
again, trailing her teeth along his shaft. His fingers dug into her scalp and
he thrust his cock farther into her mouth, releasing a low growl only belonging
to a demon.

She allowed him to take over and placed both hands on his
thighs. He stilled, widened his stance and immediately thrust rapidly in
between her lips.

Each shift of his hips added more of her saliva around his
thick cock and he threw his head back. His groans were the sexiest sound she’d
ever heard, mixed somewhere between raw primal need and demonic possession.

As he possessed and owned her mouth now, she didn’t mind.

She loved how his thigh muscles flexed beneath her touch and
how his soft hair tickled her skin. When he lowered his head, staring at her as
if the Devil had arrived, she loved that more.

His wicked gaze set her aflame. His handsome face was enough
to make any witch swoon, but his sculpted physique was perfection. His muscular
chest led down to an amazing six-pack, all paving the way to the perfect cock
thrusting into her mouth.

When she looked back into his intense eyes, her clit
throbbed and she lowered her teeth to scrape against his silky shaft, giving
him what he apparently loved from his earlier reaction—a little bite of pain.
His eyes widened, jaw clenched, and if she didn’t know better, she’d swear she
witnessed the flames of hell burning in the depths of his eyes.

After a series of hard thrusts, his groans deepened, then he
froze. His attentive stare zeroed in on hers. The question was there in his
gaze.
Will you swallow for me?

She tightened her lips as her answer.

He sucked in a harsh breath, his nostrils flared and his
eyes positively glowed. With one final pump of his hips, his head tipped back
and his load roar echoed through the garden. As his cum filled her mouth, she
swallowed frantically, shutting her eyes and savoring the warmth sliding down
her throat.

Once his cock stopped sputtering, he lowered his head and
withdrew it from her lips. He dropped down onto the swing as if he had no
strength and that made her smile. Leaning forward, while she remained on her
knees before him, he brushed his knuckles over her cheek in a tender gesture
that defied his nature. “You’re quite good at that.”

She winked. “Simply returning the favor.”

“Well said.” With a chuckle, he gathered her in his arms and
pulled her up to sit next to him on the swing.

After he tucked her into his side, she laughed quietly.
“That was a nice welcome to the neighborhood.”

He arched an eyebrow. “Good thing your house is secluded.
The neighbors might have had quite a show.”

She giggled in agreement, but she also wondered if he
planned to fuck her now.

As if he’d read her mind, he patted her hip and leaned his
head back against the swing, exhaling a long breath. “We have tonight to finish
what we started here.” He peeked open one eye. “Unless…”

“I’m good.” The orgasm he’d given her was enough to cool the
jets. Heck, she rarely had an orgasm with Layton and usually only had them when
she masturbated.
That
orgasm had been huge. Besides, it gave her a
reason to have him another time. She liked that idea.

Snuggling against him, she was a bit surprised she didn’t
feel awkwardness around Zeke. Before Layton, when she had one-night stands, she
simply wanted away from the warlocks after and always felt a little ashamed.
But she enjoyed being here in Zeke’s arms, as odd as it was, he comforted her.

“Just so you know, that was a first for me,” he murmured.

She jerked up and out of his arms, causing him to lift his
head. “You’ve never had a blowjob before?”

“Well no, I’ve received many blowjobs.” His eyes twinkled.
“But no one has ever swallowed for me.”

Oh, she loved that. “I’ve never come that hard before, so
we’re even.”

With another laugh, he pulled her back into his arms and she
rested her head against his chest. Here in his arms, she felt unusually safe,
which was peculiar considering he was a demon.

After a long pause, he broke the silence. “Tell me, now that
you’ve decided to live here, do you plan on finding a job?”

Good question. What were her plans? “I haven’t really
thought about it. I guess I’ll have to find something.” Not for the money,
since her bank account had never looked better with the smart investments she’d
made, but to be a productive citizen of the town. She liked being useful,
having something to wake up to and do every day and feel proud about.

He trailed his finger over her shoulder in a slow sweep.
“What type of job interests you?”

Gazing out at her beautiful garden, watching the tulips sway
in the wind, she shook her head, ignoring the stab of inadequacy. A normal
witch would not be asked such a question. “Not sure. But it has to be something
that doesn’t involve magic.”

Zeke scoffed, his hand stilling on her biceps. “But you’re a
witch—to deny that and go into some mundane job is ridiculous.”

Ridiculous it may be, but an ugly truth stared her dead in
the face. “Yes, well, you’ve seen my magic.” Besides, this lesson had been
drilled into her mind for so long, the last thing she wanted was to use her
magic in front of others. “It’s better for everyone if I refrain.”

“Nonsense.” He pushed her away from him and gave her a hard
look. “From what I’ve seen, you’re not dangerous.” He pressed a finger under
her chin, trapping her in his powerful gaze. “Have you ever hurt anyone?”

“No, but why chance it?” This had been the coven’s concern.
What if she
did
injure someone? She’d never forgive herself. “My magic
is very unpredictable.”

Zeke regarded her for a long moment. His eyes searched hers
until suddenly curiosity filled his expression. He stood, offering his hand to
her. “Come on. Get dressed.”

With hesitation, she accepted his hand and once she was on
her feet, he added, “I need to see exactly what your thingamajigs are.”

How had this happened? No, she didn’t want to expose herself
and let him see her pitiful magic any more than he already had. “But…but…but…”

Reaching down, he picked up her panties and skirt, then
thrust them into her hands. His eyebrow arched over very stern eyes. “Bryanna,
you should know better. Arguing with a demon is never wise.”

Blessed Be!

Chapter Five

Bryanna appeared worried, Zeke wasn’t nearly so. He’d seen
enough black magic, witches and demons alike, to understand the danger they
could unleash on the world. Bryanna didn’t have a single flicker of evil in her
sexy body. Even if her magic didn’t come out correctly, he doubted she’d be a
danger to anyone.

Deep down, he did believe her key to recovery was through
her magic. A witch and her magic were one. To deny an instrumental part of
herself would eat away at that witch until there was nothing left of her, which
was exactly what he expected happened to Bryanna.

He sympathized, because he’d been there once too. He had
suffered for years through the cravings to devour a soul. He’d been torn
between what others thought he should do and how
he
wanted to live his
life. Bryanna suffered the same fate; she refused her magic because others told
her she should. She simply needed to come to the same understanding as him. To
live how she wanted and find peace within that choice.

The other complication appeared to be emotional garbage.
Once she accepted herself in a way that others hadn’t, the damage done by
Layton, her parents and the coven would be meaningless to her.

Or so he hoped.

Now he stood off the main street where an open field lay. He
wanted Bryanna comfortable, not embarrassed by anyone who passed by. “All
right, little witch, you’re up.” Glancing down at her, he noticed her clenched
hands. “You have nothing to fear. You can’t hurt anything or anyone.”

Scanning the area in front of her, she sighed, then turned
to him with a tight expression. “You really want me to use my magic…again?”

He gave a firm nod. “Precisely.”

“Why?”

He frowned. “I want to see why you’ve disowned the part of you
that makes you who you are.” Not giving her a chance to answer, he nudged her
forward with a slap on her ass. “Off you go.”

She yelped and jumped forward, but quickly turned back to
him. “I’ll do this only once. After this is over, you’ll never ask me again,
right?”

He liked how she implied he’d have the chance to keep
asking, which meant more time together. But he wouldn’t let her off that easy.
Instead of answering her directly, he said, “I want an hour.”

Her eyes widened. “An hour?”

“That’s right.”

She cursed a very colorful word at him, then spun on her
heels. It surprised him, knowing what she’d been through, that she wanted to
please him by doing as he asked. He doubted she trusted easily and it honored
him she extended such faith toward him, making him grin like a damn fool.

As she strode toward the center of the field, he pondered
why this witch made him react on such an emotional level. He truly wanted to
see her well—wanted her to find a home in Charmstone and be happy in her life.
Was he doing this for himself, to finally save a soul worth saving instead of
devouring it?

There was that.

What better way to prove to himself he had wholeheartedly
rejected his demonic roots than to save a soul that was an easy target,
considering her weak state. Still, something more existed there—a deeper desire
to make her happy for entirely personal reasons.

When she turned back to him, staring at him with those
enchanting eyes and even more bewitching smile, he knew why she captivated him.
He could
care
for her. He enjoyed her personality, wanted to get to know
her better and more than anything, wanted to spend every minute with her.

Only problem?

How did she feel about him?

She had seemed to use sex with him as a way to make her
forget her pain. Was that all he was to her, a rebound fuck? Could she see
herself dating a demon? He wouldn’t count himself that lucky.

Holding his gaze, she backed away from him and kept on
going. He regarded her, then he realized her intention. She put distance
between them to protect him from her magic. He chuckled, finding her concern
endearing. Even with perfect defensive magic, she wouldn’t have the power to
take his life.

Once she stopped, he saw her shoulders lift as she heaved a
sigh, then she called, “What do you want me to do?”

He didn’t know much of what witches could do with their
magic, except the basic knowledge they could conjure spells. But since her
element was earth, he figured to stay within those boundaries. “Make a flower.”

Her expression became pinched and he saw her lips moving, no
doubt another curse, then she shut her eyes. Only a second passed before the
air picked up around her, fluttering her hair around her face.

He had seen witches conjure magic before, but he didn’t have
an emotional investment in any of those witches and Bryanna’s beauty stunned
him. Shifting on his feet, he adjusted his now semi-hard-on in his pants,
continuing to watch her. He suspected she wouldn’t produce a flower, yet he
didn’t know what would show up and wondered if skin care products were all her
magic delivered.

After a gust of wind rushed through the field, she opened
her eyes and he took a few steps forward, sure his eyes were misleading him. As
he settled closer to her, nothing could have prepared him for what he saw, and
without thought, he burst out laughing.

Bryanna glared down at the cheetah-print chair resembling a
high-heeled shoe, then she raised her narrowed eyes to him. “If you’re going to
laugh at me, I’m so not doing this.”

Raising his hands in surrender, he tried to restrain his
laughter, but failed miserably. Of all the things he thought she would conjure,
such a strange piece of furniture hadn’t been what he expected. “You cannot
deny the amusement here.”

“Sure, I can.” She folded her arms and continued to scowl.
“There’s nothing funny about my magic. It’s ridiculous.”

“All perception,” he reminded her gently.

Was Bryanna a classic witch? Far from it, but that’s what
made her special.

He simply needed to find a way for her to see her gifts were
a blessing and not a flaw. “Does your magic always come out with no sense of
order?” At her nod, he considered her talents, then asked, “If you tried again,
would you get the same chair or something different?”

She stared at the chair in pure disgust before she shrugged
at him. “No idea. I’ve never tested the theory.”

“Test it, then.”

Rolling her eyes, she gave him another curse, then conjured
her magic in the same way he’d witnessed only a moment ago. When the wind
ceased, Zeke bit his lip hard to avoid laughing as he stared down at two
matching steel tables, both in the same high-heeled shoe design.

“There,” she spat. “Satisfied?”

“So…” He carefully controlled his voice, considering she
looked ready to banish him to hell. “It’s a different piece of furniture, but
it’s part of the matching set.”

Her eyes once again narrowed. “Go on, laugh. I know you want
to.”

As he stared at her, he swallowed, his insides quivering,
but when he glanced down at the furniture, it was game over. “Forgive me.” He
keeled over, bending at the hip and resting his hands on his knees, barking a
loud shout of laughter. “I’m not laughing at you.”

She snorted. “You’re laughing with me, right?”

Taking a few deep breaths to send the laughter away, he
straightened and instantly grabbed her hand, tugging her toward him. “You can’t
blame me. It’s funny, Bryanna.”

“No, it really isn’t!” she snapped against his chest.

Moving a little away from her, he found her avoiding his
gaze, so he tucked a finger under her chin. “It’s not
you
, it’s the
items themselves. They are quite original.” The second the words passed through
his lips, an idea struck him hard in the chest.

Her gaze became curious, head tilting. “What?”

Had he discovered the answer to fix her? He’d swear he had
on the Devil himself. “Conjure more.”

* * * * *

An hour—a very long, treacherous hour—had passed and Bryanna
gazed over all the items surrounding her. She had produced everything and
anything. From furniture to candles to bath oils and even odd jewelry, which
were all things that had nothing to do with the earth element. She turned
toward the demon, who continued to grin at her. “Happy?”

“Incredibly.” His gaze drifted over each item in a slow
sweep. “I’ve never seen quite so many quirky thingamajigs, as you’ve called
them.”

Oh, by the elements, this was mortifying. She couldn’t
produce a single leaf, flower or create an earthquake. Instead, she conjured
items that were entirely useless—even a damn silk scarf. “We’re done here,
right?”

“We’re done.” Dropping down onto the ridiculous high-heeled
chair, he patted the cushion and smiled up at her. “It’s very comfortable.”

She rolled her eyes, but at least she didn’t produce
something that hurt to sit on. Flopping down on the edge of the chair between
his thighs, she grumbled, “Now you know why using my magic is pointless. It
gets me nothing.”

“I disagree.” He smacked the heel on the chair and smirked.
“I’d say it gets you a chair.”

Before she could help herself, she laughed. She didn’t want
to see the amusement in her magic, but his playful expression made her only able
to smile with him. “Perhaps my tagline should be—hate flowers? Come to Bryanna
and she’ll give you a weird chair.”

He wrapped a hand around her waist and dragged her tight
between his thighs. “Perfect slogan.”

“Nonetheless, pointless,” she repeated.

Running his finger down her shoulder, he followed the move
with his gaze and the side of his mouth curved. “Must feel nice to use your
magic, hmm?”

Nice?

No, that didn’t describe the sensation. Not using her
element had been the hardest part of her old life. When she conjured her magic,
it was as if her shattered heart had mended. “It felt wonderful.” She
hesitated. “No, wait, it was…” It’d been so much more than wonderful,
considering she’d conjured magic for an entire hour. “Exhilarating.”

At Zeke’s nod and soft smile, she added, “Maybe I could come
back and play with my magic a little. It’s safe enough, I suppose.”

“Bryanna.” He shook his head in clear frustration. “You
couldn’t hurt a flower that lay in this field. Stop thinking of yourself as
broken.”

She
was
broken. Not that she’d admit that aloud to
him. “I don’t. Really, I’m fine.”

He backed away, giving her a long look. “Stop that too.”

She blinked. “Pardon me?”

“Don’t give me the answer you think I want.” His eyebrow
arched. “Tell me the truth.”

She stared at him, totally shocked, since no one had ever
said anything like that to her before. Perhaps because no one had ever cared
enough to want to hear her opinions or wondered as to how she felt. “Okay,
maybe I do think of myself as a little broken.”

The sternness in his eyes faded. “Why?” He continued to
trail his finger over her shoulder and down her arm. “Because others have told
you so?”

A lump formed in her throat and she swallowed it back, not
wanting to admit this, but somehow not able to keep the truth from him. “Well,
they’re right.”

Dragging his finger back up her arm, he caught her chin,
drawing up her gaze and staring at her with tender eyes. “No, Bryanna, they are
wrong.”

Tears welled in her eyes. “How do you know?”

“Because I’ve been where you are. I’m a demon. I belong in
the pits of hell and have been labeled a ruthless murderer of souls.” He tilted
his head. “Am I those things?”

“No,” she answered without pause. He wasn’t at all what
she’d known about demons. There was no sign of evil. If anything, he’d shown
her nothing but kindness. “So, what, you ignore them?”

His eyes became pained. “It’s impossible to ignore.” His
chin lifted and the dark edge to his eyes vanished. “But I live the way I do
and prove them wrong. I accept myself for what I am. I’m not flawed, I’m
special
…and
so are you.”

“Yeah, special.” She snorted, gazing out at the flowers
around her that were scattered through the field. “That’s one way to put it.”

Capturing her chin in his hand again, he forced her gaze to
him and gave her a hard look. “Do you know of another witch who can do what you
can do?”

“No.”

He inclined his head, his eyes softening. “Meaning, there’s
only one
you
. Only one witch who has been gifted in a way no one else
has. I’d say that makes you pretty damn special.”

Drawing in a deep breath, she regarded him and couldn’t find
any deception in his gaze. “You really believe that?”

“I do.”

The idea sounded nice. She welcomed a life of not having
anyone judge her and point fingers as if she had a big wart on her nose. Maybe
one day she’d share Zeke’s views. For now, she couldn’t and desperately wanted
off the subject. “About my finding a job, is there an employment office?”

His eyes twinkled, at what she had no idea. “Goblin’s
Employment is on the main road and I’m sure it’s still open. Everything in town
closes at 10:00 p.m.” He gave her thigh a slap. “Why don’t you go there now and
see what you can find?”

She stood, glancing down at him in the hideous chair, and he
looked completely out of place on such a girly piece of furniture. When he
didn’t move to join her, she asked, “You’re not coming with me?”

He shook his head slowly. “I’ve got to be somewhere else.”

Her breath caught in her throat at his dismissal. Oh, maybe
he was done with her now or perhaps he had another lover. He owed her nothing,
and well, he’d been kinder to her than any other one-night-stand she’d known.
Still, hot jealousy over another lover burned in her veins, which made her
heart skip a beat.

Witches didn’t care for demons. Besides, she hadn’t even
known him a day. She needed to get into a hot bath, since clearly she was more
of a mess than she even realized. “Okay then.” Though the jealous part of her
made her add, “Will I see you later?”
