“Did you?” Shawn tapped his fingers on his steering wheel. “I tend to ramble on when I start talking about tech things.”

Rambling was putting it mildly. Shawn was warm, smart and good-looking, but being around him was about as exciting as watching paint dry. Serene briefly glanced out of the window of Shawn’s car at her condo, wishing she was already inside. “The food was great, wasn’t it?”

“I thought you’d like that place.” Shawn’s gaze dropped from her eyes to her lips.

Oh, here we go.
“Well, thank you for tonight, Shawn.”

“You’re welcome. I enjoy spending time with you. A perfect night deserves a perfect ending, don’t you think?”

Serene almost recoiled when Shawn leaned over for a kiss, then went with it in the hopes that it would change her mind about him.

Not a chance.

He was a decent kisser, but she felt nothing as his mouth moved on hers. Serene moved back when he tried to deepen the kiss. She’d been so wrong to think she could cultivate a spark with her equivalent of a bump on a log.

Shawn touched her lips with his thumb. “Let me walk you up to the door. You’ve yet to show me your place.”

Subtle, real subtle.

“Shawn—” Serene paused as her cell rang, grateful to whomever was calling and their impeccable timing. She gave Shawn an apologetic look, ignoring his frustrated one as she took her phone out of her purse. “Could be an emergency.” And it would be no matter what, Serene thought, answering even though she didn’t recognize the local number. “Hello?”

“I want to see you.”

Five words set her world on its head. Joy in the form of waves of heat circled her body then burst into prickly nettles of longing.

Oliver!
Serene’s gasp of surprise was real. She looked at Shawn with wide eyes and fought to keep from grinning as he frowned with concern.

“I want to see you right now, Serene.” Oliver’s deep voice caressing her ear filled her with happiness.

“I need to call you back.”

“Tonight.” Not a question, a demand.

Serene’s heart somersaulted. “Yes.” She ended the call and blew out a shaky breath.

“There
is
something wrong.” Shawn touched her arm. “Anything I can do?”

“No. I’m sorry, Shawn.”

“Don’t be. You go. From the look on your face, I can tell whatever’s going on is an emergency.”

Of erotic proportions.

Shawn kissed her cheek and Serene smiled. “Call me later.”

“Okay. Thank you.” Serene opened her door before Shawn could get out and do it. She bent down, peered back into the car to meet his gaze. “Goodnight.”

“Goodnight. I’ll wait until you’re inside.”

Serene nodded at him, closed the door then hurried to her own. She fumbled with the key, cursing herself for almost giggling with school-girlish excitement as she turned to wave at Shawn. He waved back before letting up the window and pulling his vehicle away from the curb.

Oliver wants to see me.

Serene stepped inside her condo, kicked off her heels and flopped on the couch with her cell in hand. She sighed, her initial giddiness fading. How many times had she told herself that any further dealings with Oliver would be unwise?

What had happened in Tahiti needed to stay there. Serene hadn’t expected him to call, certain he’d forgotten about her as soon as he’d left the island.

But he did call and he’s expecting me to call him back.

“Damn it.” She wanted to see him too, but she’d settle for just talking to him at this point. No harm could come of that. Serene poised her finger over her phone. “Just friendly conversation. That’s it.” Feeling more in control, she dialed Oliver. She worried her lip, her heart in her throat as the call connected.

“Hello, Serene.”

“Hi.”

“God, it’s great to hear your voice.”

Warmth seeped into each of Serene’s pores. “Likewise. How are you?”

“I’m rock hard with need for you.”

Serene’s pulse leaped from his boldness even as she sighed.
So much for friendly conversation.
“Just going to skip all the pretenses then?”

“Hey, this is how I am. You either take me or leave me and we both know you can take every inch.”

“Oliver…” Serene squirmed on the couch, knowing her arousal superseded any real indignation.

“I can’t stop thinking about you.”

Serene tightened her grip on her phone, pleased by his admission. “I’ve thought about you too.”

“And yet you didn’t call.”

“I told you I wouldn’t.”

“You did, and you gave me reasons why we couldn’t take things any further than Tahiti.”

“Valid reasons, Oliver.”

“Maybe so, but I don’t give a damn about any of them. I want you. I want your taste on my tongue again. I want to feel your body under mine with my cock deep inside you. But do you want to know what I want most of all?”

His words rekindled the banked fire within her she’d been trying to douse for weeks. Calling him back had been a big mistake. Serene brought her hand up to her breast and tweaked her nipple through her dress. “What… What do you want, Oliver?”

“I want to look you in the eyes again when I make you come.”

“Oh, God.”

“You want the same thing, don’t you?”

Serene closed her eyes then opened them when Oliver’s eyes, dark with passion, popped into her mind. She squeezed her thighs together and pressed her damp panties against her clit.

“Don’t you, Serene?”

“Yes, but—”

“What’s your address?”

Serene sat up, wide-eyed, on the couch. “Are you serious?” Her pulse raced from zings of arousal and nervousness. He’d thrown her completely off guard.

“Very.”

“Umm… I just got in and it’s late.” A lame response, but it was all she could come up with in her current state of discombobulation. Serene looked around her home and tried to imagine Oliver in it as he chuckled.

“Ten fifteen is late? It’s Friday night. Come to me or I’ll come to you.”

Serene exhaled. “This isn’t a good idea.”

“You said that before and I enjoyed proving you wrong. Remember?”

Oh, she did. Every erotic detail.

One more time.

She wanted him, he wanted her. They’d share one more night and purge whatever lusty desires remained between them once and for all.

“Serene?”

Need bowled over her reservations and Serene gave him her address. “How far away are you?”

“I should be there within a half hour.”

“Okay. See you then.”

“Yes, and, Serene, wear those sparkly stilettos I helped you put on in Tahiti.”

The line went dead and Serene set her phone on the coffee table with a smile on her face. Oliver was way too cocky. She couldn’t believe the way he’d talked to her, invited himself over then instructed what shoes for her to wear, or that she was turned on by it all.

Twenty-three minutes later, Serene stood assessing her appearance in the mirror. She’d put on the heels Oliver had requested and the silky nightie he’d bought for her.

A perfect fit.

The material clung to her curves, appearing almost sheer like she’d suspected it would in the light. She’d have to praise Oliver again for choosing the perfect style and cut for her. Her heart thudded with anticipation as she put on her silky black robe and tied the belt around her waist. Serene turned from the mirror and lit the pillar candles on her dresser and nightstand. She flipped the main switch on her way out, casting the room in romantic candlelight before heading to her kitchen for a glass of wine. She used her automatic wine opener on a bottle of Merlot. After pouring a modest amount in her glass, she took a sip then froze with the alcohol resting on her tongue when her doorbell chimed.

Her legs felt rubbery as she walked to the door and depressed the intercom. “Oliver?” She hit the listen button.

“Yes.”

Anxious, Serene buzzed him up, undoing the lock as he knocked. She opened the door and something twisted within her when she met Oliver’s eyes. He seemed taller than she remembered, sexy as hell in dark jeans and white Henley shirt. Serene stepped back to let him in, thrilled to see him. Oliver reached for her as he moved forward then she was in his arms with his familiar scent enveloping her. Serene moaned as he claimed her lips in a hard kiss, barely registering the door clicking shut behind them. She melted against him, reveled in the warmth of his body and his touch. She’d wondered if being back in his embrace would feel as wonderful as it had before, but it was even better.

“I missed your kiss,” Oliver said against her mouth.

“Me too.” Serene ran her hands over his chest as he untied her robe. She dropped her arms and it fell in a pool around her feet.

Oliver stepped back to look at her. “Wow.” He cupped her breasts through the nightie.

“Thank you.” Serene shuddered as he toyed with her nipples.

“It’s even hotter on you than I imagined it to be, especially with those heels. Let me see you walk in them.”

Serene gave him a devilish grin before pivoting and sashaying toward her bedroom. She yelped when he caught up with her, embraced her from behind, and nuzzled her neck while making her aware of his erection.

“You have a beautiful place, Serene.” Oliver spanned his hands around her waist. “Thank you for inviting me over.”

Serene turned her to face him, reached for his hand and took him into her bedroom. “Well, technically, I didn’t invite you.” She pushed his shirt up and Oliver stripped out of it and tossed it onto the bed, giving her a tantalizing view of the rock hard abs she’d been daydreaming about.

“You didn’t invite me in?” His choice of words didn’t go unnoticed by Serene as unbuttoned and unzipped his jeans. “How rude. I’ll remedy that error on my part. That’s bad manners… Just as coming to someone’s home for the first time without a gift is.” Oliver pushed his hand into his jeans pocket, pulled out a small black velvet pouch and held it up.

Surprised, Serene glanced up at him, moved by his gesture. “You didn’t have to.”

“I wanted to.”

Serene took the soft bag from him, feeling some kind of oddly shaped weighted object inside. “What is it?”

“Open it.”

Oliver’s cock hardened even more as Serene took out the jeweled anal plug and a small tube of lube. “Do you know what that is?”

“I told you before I’m not a prude.” Serene shifted her attention from the toy to give him an exasperated look.

“Okay. Have you used one before?” Oliver took a condom out of his pocket then pushed his jeans down with his underwear. He stepped out of them, now fully naked, aware of Serene’s steady gaze on his body. Correction, his cock.

“No. I don’t think I want to.”

Oliver took the two items from her hand. “You do.” The flicker of anxiety and curiosity in Serene’s wide brown eyes almost made him grab her, throw her on the bed and take her right then and there.

Serene shook her head. “I don’t think so. It looks kinda big.”

“It’s not.”

Serene flipped the sex toy, saw the pink ice topper and grinned. “I do like this sparkly element, though.”

“I knew you would.” Oliver took the toy from her. “Just like I know you’ll like playing with it.” He pulled her back into his arms, kissing her as he skimmed his hands beneath the soft nightie to touch her ass, delighted to touch bare skin. “I want you to go lie on the bed on your stomach.” Oliver caressed her cheek when she hesitated. “Trust me.”

Serene held his gaze for a moment then did as he had asked. Oliver moved to the foot of the bed and savored the delectable view. He joined Serene on the sheets, placed the lube and condom beside him before running his hands over her calf muscles and thighs. He reached the short hemline of her chemise, pushed it up revealing Serene’s rounded ass, and couldn’t resist landing a smack on each cheek.

“Ouch! Damn it, Oliver that hurt.”

“Shh.” Oliver rubbed his palms over the area he’d spanked then dipped his hand between her legs and into her wet warmth. “It hurt and you liked it.” He thrust one finger deep inside Serene and she gasped.

“Yes, I liked it.” Her pussy clenched around his fingers.

Oliver grunted his approval and removed his hand. He smacked her twice, harder, and Serene whimpered. “I know you did. Do you remember the word to use if you get overwhelmed by anything?”

Serene trembled beneath him. “Mercy.”

“Good.” Oliver uncapped the lube. “Now, I want you to reach back and spread these juicy ass cheeks for me.

“Oliver—” Her voice sounded muffled in the sheets.

“Right now.”

Oliver got on his knees and stroked his cock as Serene slowly did as he requested, exposing her untouched anus. Oliver applied the lubricant and Serene gasped and tensed. “Relax that ass or should I spank it some more?”

“Spank it some more.”

Oliver chuckled. “Move your hands.” Serene obeyed and he smacked her cheeks several times, stopping when her muted whimpers became a cry of real pain. Oliver smoothed his hands over the reddened flesh. “Now open your ass for me.” He picked the anal plug back up, noting Serene wincing as she obliged his request. Oliver straddled her legs and swirled the toy in the lube. He teased Serene, dragging the tip up and down her ass crack before centering it to enter her. “Ready?”

“No.”

She didn’t say mercy and Oliver showed her none. He edged the toy into her and heard Serene draw in a tight breath. “Nice and slow.” Oliver continued to penetrate her virgin hole, getting harder and harder as he watched the tiny ring of muscle stretch to accommodate the flared toy.

“Oh, my God.” Serene’s voice was now a mere whisper.

“It’s almost in.” Oliver nudged the plug, applied a little more pressure and the widest part of it disappeared inside Serene as she groaned. “Good girl. How does it feel?” He leaned over her and kissed her back.

“Uncomfortable. Weird.”

Oliver chuckled. “But not unbearable.” He got off Serene’s legs and she turned on her side to look at him as he lay on his back next to her.

“Maybe.”

“I don’t think so. Get up and try walking with it.”

Serene gingerly scooted off the bed and Oliver observed her take a few steps in her sexy shoes. She turned to face him, a slight grimace on her beautiful face. “My ass is throbbing.”
