She surged forward with me in tow until we got to the family bathroom. It didn’t make sense. “Um, why here?”

“You’ll see,” she said as she locked the door behind us.

“Jeans, off.” Her shaky fingers tried to undo the top button, but as I tried to help her I must’ve hit the button again, because she gripped my arm and squeezed, her voice a low groan as she called out my name.

I undid the button and pulled my jeans down. She stared at my cock as if she’d never seen it before then unceremoniously pushed me backward into the chair I’d guess was meant for breastfeeding.

“I warned you, Levi, you didn’t listen. Now I’m going to ride your cock and you’re going to take it like a man.” She bundled her dress up around her hips and reached between her legs to pull the string and remove the balls from her pussy, then shoved them into my mouth. The taste of metal mixed with her arousal was unlike anything I’d ever had on my tongue.

She straddled my lap and lifted herself by pushing down hard on my shoulders. With a gasp she impaled my cock, then slammed down on my balls, taking me to the hilt.

My eyes rolled back in my head as her warmth enveloped me. Montana was making me pay for teasing her with the Kegel balls.

“I need this,” she groaned as she moved herself up and down my shaft, taking what she wanted without apology.

Chapter 34 — Levi

M
onday morning, 6.27 A.M.

It was time to put a stop to all the bullshit that Jake had created. He no longer had the power he imagined, nor the hold on Montana he so desperately needed for him to force himself onto her. I didn’t care that he was a celebrity—in this country they were a dime a dozen, and one pretty face soon replaced another. What that said about our society left a bitter taste in my mouth, but Jake had it coming to him.

I dressed meticulously, wearing a yellow power-tie with a navy suit and white button-down shirt similar to the one Montana had worn at the loft. The image of her in my clothes flashed through my mind. It was a sight I’d never forget—her nipples pushing against the thousand-thread cotton fabric and her navel peeping through where she hadn’t fastened the buttons. Sometimes leaving something to the imagination was sexy as fuck, and Montana was the best kind of tease—it wasn’t fake or contrived, it just came naturally.

I slid behind the wheel of the Bentley, started the engine, and drove out of the parking garage into the traffic. My office was close by, yet it would take me a while to get there in the early-morning madness that was Manhattan. For the first time, though, I didn’t mind, because it gave me time to think and strategize on how to solve the Snake dilemma.

After the amazing weekend Montana and I’d had together, I was even more committed to heeding Gramps’s advice. Now that I’d had a taste of what living with Montana was like, I couldn’t imagine my life any other way. Yet a small part of her still held back. And I was pretty certain it was all because of Jake fucking Monroe.

Still lost in my thoughts, I was taken by surprise when my phone rang through my Bluetooth, and I pressed the button to take the call.

“Hey, Red. What’s up?”

“Hey, Levi. I can’t get hold of Monty. Her phone doesn’t seem to be switched on.”

I had to chuckle at Red’s extensive vocabulary of curse words as I told her what had happened to Montana at her apartment, and hence why her phone was out of order. I assured her that her friend was safe and under my protection, and that I wouldn’t allow any harm to come to Montana.

“Well that’s a relief.” She let out a sigh.

“You can reach her at the loft on the landline or on her new phone we got over the weekend.” I gave her both numbers, and she repeated them back to me to check she’d written them down correctly. In a way I was glad that nobody but Red and I could reach her for now.

Red clucked her tongue. “I go away for a weekend and come back to find that Jake is still causing havoc.” She fell silent for a few seconds before she huffed, “That fucker needs to go down and get the hell out of Monty’s life. Enough already.” I could just imagine her green eyes blazing as she made her statement.

“So you agree with my thoughts that Jake is behind this?”

“Hell yeah, I have no doubt. Beckham and I didn’t just go away for a dirty weekend. We went back to the little hometown where Monty and I grew up to do some investigating.”

“You did? Find anything?”

My opinion of Beckham Drake was changing for the better. Since he’d set his sights on Red, I’d relaxed about the fact he’d be working closely with Montana. Plus he had to be one of the good guys by refusing to fire Montana and tackling the scandal head-on. Not many bosses would defend their executives as he’d done, and I’d believed he wasn’t just doing it to impress Montana’s friend, but that he was genuine in his intentions.

Red laughed. “Of course we did. And that’s why I was trying to call Monty. Once I knew Jake was Jacqui, it was relatively easy to trace her . . . um,
his
steps.”

“Where are you now?” I interrupted. My heart raced at the thought of finally nailing the Snake.

“Beckham and I are just driving back from JFK. We’ll be in Manhattan soon.”

Red was smart as fuck on top of being feisty. If anyone could get the information we needed, it would be her.

“Tell me everything. I’m stuck in traffic, so I have time to burn.”

“I found pictures of Jacqueline and a copy of the video some girl took of Jacqui smashing their car window because of an argument she’d had with her. Seems Jacqui left a trail of enemies who I’m sure, with a bit of persuasion, would testify against Jacqui’s character.”

Disappointment swirled through my gut, and my whole body felt heavy. “Hang on a sec, how will that help us? As good as the information is, it’s about Jake as a former persona, not Jake himself.”

Red clucked her tongue again. “Are you gonna listen or what? Does a person ever really change, even if they’ve done something as radical as Jaqueline?”

She couldn’t see me but that didn’t stop me from shaking my head. It wasn’t impossible, but it was very improbable.

She didn’t wait for me to answer. “Anyway . . .  where was I?”

“You said you found something from Jake’s past we could use.” If only she knew how badly I hoped she had something useful.

“Oh, yes. That’s only the beginning. It gets better.” The pride in her voice was unmistakable.

“I’m all ears,” I assured her, then let out a loud curse as I swerved to miss a taxi that ran a red light. I’d been so distracted that I was driving on autopilot and not really looking out for crazy drivers with a death wish.

“Levi? You okay?”

“Yeah. Damn taxi nearly killed me,” I huffed, my body shaking as adrenaline coursed through it. I pulled over to the curb to give myself time to recover and just focus on the conversation. It was a no parking zone, but I didn’t care. As much as I loved New York, there were times I truly hated the congestion and reckless driving by impatient cabbies. That was why Wilson drove me most days, so I could get some work done in the back seat while he navigated the madness.

Red’s voice drew me back from my thoughts. “That’s what I hate about big cities. It was so peaceful in the small town. Beckham liked it, too. He’d never been south. He said he couldn’t believe Monty and I were born and raised there. I took it as a compliment. That’s how he meant it, right?”

Hadn’t she said that Beckham was driving the vehicle and was right beside her? I guessed she was making a point she wanted him to hear.

“Sure,” I said, careful not to offend her—or him for that matter.

I couldn’t help smiling. A few times during sex Montana had been so swept up in the moment that her southern way of speaking was clearly audible, but I found it so damn cute and charming I’d never mentioned it because I didn’t want her to stop doing it. It was what made my girl unique, and I loved everything about her.

“What does that mean?” Red sounded quite indignant.

I just laughed. “Never mind.” Already I felt better than I had a few moments ago. “Anyway, let’s get back to what you discovered on your trip.”

She snorted—yep, actually snorted—before she continued. “Turns out Beckham is smart too, and so we followed Jacqui’s trail all the way to the surgeon who did the sex change. Apparently the doctor was up for charges on some shady dealings, so all his records were on file at the police station for an investigation they had on the bastard. Beckham pulled some strings and we got access to Jacqui’s file. We have enough material to bury the asshole once and for all.”

I sucked in a deep breath. This was great news and might just be the ammunition I needed. Amazing what a person could achieve if you were well connected. It had served me over the years, and of course Beckham had the same kind of clout.

Since I was only two blocks from the office, I pulled away from the curb back into the traffic, keeping my eyes peeled for idiots this time.

“Shall we catch up over a coffee and decide what to do next? I’d like to get Jake off Monty’s back so she can settle down with a nice man and be happy.” The determination in her tone didn’t surprise me. Red was a go-getter and I was sure she usually got her way about most things.

“You and me, Red. As long as the nice man you have in mind is
me
.”

She chuckled. “Who else? Beckham is mine, and although I’m a little shocked by how sexually adventurous my shy little friend has become, I’m loving that she’s opened up to you. You must be one hell of a guy to have talked her into it in the first place after what happened with her step—” She went all quiet. “Oh shit, me and my big mouth.”

“It’s okay,” I assured her, “Montana has told me what happened with Adrian.”

She audibly sucked in a breath. “Everything?”

“Yeah, I think so. We spent the whole weekend together, mostly at the loft. We had a lot of time to talk between fu . . . um sleeping.”

Red giggled. “I still regret I never got to meet The Monster. I’m sure he’s fun.”

“You’re an awesome girl, Red, and Beckham is a lucky man. But The Monster will never belong to anyone else but Montana, so I’ve got to get this shit with Jake to go away forever. I want babies with her too, and I guess you know how she feels about that.”

Red whistled between her teeth. Impressive for a girl. “My, my, you do have big balls, Levi Barrington.” She laughed at her own joke and I joined in too, at my own expense.

“I’m just driving into the underground garage at our offices. Call me when you get to Manhattan and we can meet up to talk further. I can’t wait to see what you’ve got on Jake.”

“Sweet. Talk soon.”

“Red?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m glad you found Montana again. She needs a friend like you. All the stuff you women talk about that we men don’t understand. . .”

Red laughed. “I’m glad too.” The smile in her voice was proof of her sincerity, and I was digging Montana’s friend more and more as I got to know her better. She was like a breath of fresh air compared to the stiff corporate types in the fiercely competitive business world I dealt with daily. “You’re good for her, Levi.”

I couldn’t help puffing my chest out just a little. “You’ll cater for our engagement then?”

Her reply came without hesitation. “Nope. Find someone else. That night I’m coming as a guest, Mr. Big Dick.” She wasn’t joking, not even the tiniest bit.

I liked this woman. There was probably somewhere I could place her in our organization. She’d be an asset to any company. Before I could voice my ideas, she snuffed them with her next comment.

“Beckham and I are getting married in three months’ time and we’ve already started working on getting me pregnant. You can be the godfather if you like?”

“Wow, that’s random.” I chuckled. “I’d be honored, but first I’ll talk about that with Montana. I’ll see you soon.”

Babies. I wanted a fuckload of them with Montana. Sweet little blond cherubs who looked just like her.

Chapter 35 — Montana

I
hummed a tune as I brushed my teeth. My heart overflowed with happiness and I was so madly in love with Levi that I could hardly see straight. He’d left the loft early, letting me sleep in for a while longer and then have the bathroom to myself to get ready for work.

He’d only been gone for two hours but already I missed him. My whole body ached for him; all I could think of was Levi. Every part of me was consumed by my lover and it made my heart sing.

To reflect my mood, I chose a pretty pink blouse and floral skirt from the stash Wilson had delivered from my and Levi’s weekend shopping spree and once I was dressed I assessed myself in the mirror.
Not too shabby.

I’d never worn anything remotely feminine to work before, always going for classic suits and looking professional and businesslike. I decided to let my hair down too and applied the hottest pink lipstick I owned with lashings of mascara and a cute upward flick at the end of my eyeliner.

Levi had truly spoiled me and I had half a dozen pairs of new shoes to choose from. There was no hesitation in my mind—the nude Louboutins would be perfect with my outfit. Just flirty enough but not too over the top for the office.

What had started off as a disaster had turned into the best weekend of my life, but I couldn’t help worrying if once Levi went back to the office and back to reality he’d sober up from his love-struck drunkenness and decide it was all too much.

I wasn’t sure how I’d handle it. That was why I’d never allowed myself the luxury of falling in love before. It was far worse to have had a taste of something so perfect and then have it ripped away than to never have had it at all. At least, that was what I’d believed before. Now I wasn’t convinced. Levi had opened my eyes and my heart and I loved being in love. It just made the day so much better in every single way.
Everything seems brighter.

Except for my apartment and everything in it. The police were investigating and I’d made a claim to the insurance company. Very little was salvageable and the apartment had been closed off by the police for two reasons: firstly a safety issue because the building was so old and secondly they were looking for clues to how it could have happened.
