My legs wrap around his waist as I hop up on to him. Isaac’s strong arms catch me, holding me tight against his body.

His legs shuffle and we crash up against the wall next to the dining room table. I’m kissing him even harder now, wanting to take even more of him. His thickness digs deep between my legs. Why do I have to be wearing yoga pants instead of a skirt?

My feet drop to the ground and I lean myself back against the wall as my hands slide down his chest to his jeans. I rip and tug at them until the button and zipper come free. I slide my hand inside of his tight pants, happy to find that he’s not wearing any underwear. I don’t think he even owns any.

“Jesus, yes,” he groans, as my fingers wrap around his cock.

I pull it out, squeezing the tip in my hand.

“Is this what you came here for?” I ask, sliding my hand all the way to the base of his thick shaft. “Did you come here to fuck me?”

His eyes are rolling back in his head as I begin jerking him harder and harder.

“What happened to cooling things off?”

I bite my lip, thoroughly pleased with how much he’s enjoying this. My hand slows, then comes to a stop.

“I can stop if you want…” I tease.

His eyes snap open and another growl rumbles up from the depths of his chest. Heat spreads down through me as he gives me an intense stare.

His hands are strong as they spin me around and press me face first against the wall. I let out a squeal of delight as he pulls my ass out towards him.

“Did you wear these yoga pants just to tease me?”

He runs his cock down the center of my ass. I can feel the tip of it through my pants as it glides over my soaked folds. I need to have him so badly right now.

“They’re nothing special.”

“You look like a goddess in them. You have the kind of ass that men fantasize about.”

“What do
you
fantasize about?”

His hands tug the top of my pants down around my ass, baring everything to him.

“I don’t fantasize. I take what I want.”

I suck in a sharp breath as his enormous cock slides into me. He grabs my waist, holding me in place while he buries himself deep into my center.

“Christ, you’re so tight for me.”

“It was the yoga,” I manage.

He’s ramming into me even harder now. My chest and face are pressed up against the wall. I feel so constricted as he holds me there, so contained. Isaac lets out another groan, and I feel my pleasure building. He’s having his way with me and I’m enjoying every second of it. It’s what I’ve been desiring all day.

“Don’t stop,” I moan.

He hits the angle just right. His hands tighten as he pulls me onto his cock even harder. He hits that same spot over and over.

My fingernails press into the wall as my orgasm blossoms all over his cock. My moan crescendos as my center constricts, clamping down onto him. Afterwards I’m left panting, my legs wobbly.

Isaac has given me so much, but he’s not done yet. He thrusts even harder. He has more to give.

“I want to taste you.”

I push him off of me and drop to my knees. My fingers grasp his cock and begin stroking it. It glistens with my arousal. My eyes stay locked on his, reveling in the look of pleasure on his face. My tongue darts out and licks his tip before I open wide and take him as far down as I can. I try to go deeper and deeper, knowing that I’ll never be able to take all of him. My hand works the base of his shaft as my mouth swallows all that it can.

“You’re so beautiful down there. I’ve never seen something so sexy.”

That dimpled smile appears on his face, driving me to take more and more until I’m almost gagging.

“Christ, yes,” he moans.

His eyes roll into the back of his head. He’s almost there.

I shake my head back and forth as my tongue flicks the tip. I jerk him off as hard as I can.

His loud gasp is the only warning I have before he comes. He explodes in my mouth, filling my throat with his warmth. I begin to choke, but fight to swallow it down. Just swallow. Keep swallowing.

When I’ve taken all he has to give me he presses his hands up against the wall, his muscular frame balancing itself above my head.

I shoot him a contented smile, my hand still stroking the length of him. His chest heaves with each deep breath he takes.

His gray eyes are bright as his lips pull back into that secretive grin.

“Now
that’s
the smile I came here to see.”

Chapter 7

It is hours later that we are snuggled against each other in my bed, a sleepy haze settling over us. I grin as Isaac wraps his arm around me, spooning me from behind.

“You never did answer my question earlier,” I say, curling into him even more.

He lets out a soft grumble. His voice is deep and sleepy and his chest rumbles against my back.

“You distracted me…”

“I’m serious…”

He shifts slightly, resting his chin against my neck.

“And which question was that, again?”

I turn over to face him. His head falls sharply as I do, forcing him awake as he catches himself. His gray eyes lock onto me, giving me a startled, confused look.

“What are the flowers for?”

The confused look on his face deepens.

“Isn’t that obvious?”

My insides knot with trepidation. He’s looking at me like I just asked the stupidest question in the world.

“I just don’t want to make any assumptions.”

“Have you never been given flowers before?”

Damn him. How does he make seeing right through me look so easy?

“Is that a bad thing?” I ask, nervously.

His eyes go wide and he sits up on the bed, marveling at me.

“You’re just having a laugh, right? Pulling my leg?” His face widens even more when I don’t respond. “How is it possible that a girl as beautiful as you has never been given flowers? What kind of bloody wankers are you raising over here?”

He doesn’t mean it as an insult, but that doesn’t make me feel any better. He probably thinks there’s something wrong with me, that I’m defective or something.

“I’ve never really gotten that serious with someone.”

It’s a lame excuse, but it’s all I’ve got.

That serious?
Jesus woman, they’re flowers, not a marriage proposal.” I bite my lip, giving him a pained look. “How do these nancy boys let you know they’re interested if they don’t even give you flowers?”

I shrug. “They usually just text me and say they want to hang out.”

His brow pulls down in confusion.

“Hang out?”

The words fall out of his mouth like they’re a foreign language.

“It means they want to have sex with me,” I laugh.

He cocks an eyebrow, incredulously.

“Why don’t they just say
that
, instead?”

I shake my head, letting out another tiny laugh.

“Not all men are like you.”

“They don’t sound like
men
at all.”

My eyes widen, giving him an exasperated look.

“Now you see why I want to know what the flowers mean…”

His gray eyes study me for a few long moments. His fingers caress my cheek, sending tingles down my neck. It’s a soft and tender touch.

“I sent them because I can’t stop thinking about you,” he starts. “I sent them because I think you’re beautiful. And I sent them because I wanted you to have a piece of me here with you.”

My heart pounds hard in my chest. What am I supposed to say to that? I don’t think I even know the words to describe the emotions running through me, to describe the excitement he makes me feel. It’s probably best not to say anything at all.

But that’s not what I do.

“That’s definitely not what I meant by cooling things off…”

But he ignores the comment. He just keeps staring at me with those beautiful gray eyes like there isn’t anything else in the entire world.

“Let’s go out this weekend.”

My insides get all twisted.

“Out? As in a
date
?”

“Yes,” he says, plainly. “Not like that
business dinner
bullshit, either. I’ll pick you up on Saturday night and I’ll even hold doors open for you.”

My lips tug into a tiny smile as my heart beats even faster. A date with Isaac sounds amazing. It sounds like the most amazing thing in the world.

I wince.

“I’ve already got plans on Saturday.” His brow creases as he gives me a look. “Not
those
kinds of plans…“ I give him a playful jostle. “I promised Tawny I would take her out. We haven’t hung out in forever.”

“Friday, then,” he says. “After you get off work, you can come home, put on a pretty little dress and we’ll have a night on the town.”

I cock an eyebrow, trying to keep even the tiniest part of my excitement in check.

“Are you saying that I don’t usually look pretty?”

A growl rumbles from his chest as he crawls to his knees. He hovers over me, giving me a playful look.

“You’re so ravishing I can’t keep my hands off of you. That’s why I want you in a dress!”

He buries his head into my neck, blowing a raspberry the way you would to make a baby laugh. Apparently it works on adults, too. I let out a burst of laughter as his lips tickle my neck. When he finally pulls away I can’t help but beam a smile up at him.

“I can’t keep sneaking around like this. One of these days you’re going to have to make a proper lad out of me…” He gives me a wry grin. “So…how about it?”

“A proper lad, huh?” I ask, letting out another laugh.

His brow creases as he shoots a quick glance down at himself.

“Don’t get me wrong, kitten—I’m all man where it counts.”

I bite my lip, already imagining him inside of me again.

“You don’t have to remind me of that.”

He sinks down on the bed with me. His leg is draped over mine and I can feel his excitement surfacing again. He gives me a serious look.

“Friday it is, then? I’ll pick you up at 7:30…”

I bite my lip one more time, considering it for all of two seconds. It’s not like I’m fooling anyone, we both already know what I’m going to say.

“Okay.” His face spreads into a wide, happy smile. “But this doesn’t change anything between us…”

He taps my nose again, just like he did the night before.

“You really are a fickle little girl, aren’t you?”

I give him a shrug. “It’s a woman’s prerogative, I suppose.”

He gives me a fierce grin. He studies me for a few moments before his eyes sink down along my body.

“What are you thinking?” I ask.

“I’m thinking I better have you one more time before you remember you have to be at work in the morning.”

He slides his arm under me, and the next thing I know he’s pulling me on top of him. I let out a laugh as his fingers wrap around the back of my neck, pulling me into a deep kiss. I sink my hips down on him, feeling his already hard cock as it twitches between my legs.

Flowers and a date in the same night… so much for slowing things down.

Chapter 8

The next day I’m sitting at my desk trying to focus on work stuff, but really all I can think about is Isaac and what I’m going to wear to dinner tomorrow night. I don’t even remember the last time I went on a proper first date. It would have been sometime in college before I swore off dating altogether to focus on my classes.

A knock on the door interrupts my line of thought. Declan pokes his head inside my office. My stomach twists into knots when I see him.

“Got a second?” he asks.

“Yes, of course!” I scramble to quickly organize my desk.

I’m suddenly frazzled as I look around at my stuff, unable to remember what I’d even been doing before I started thinking about Isaac.

He steps into the office and fixes me with a curious look. He’s wearing a finely tailored suit that looks like it costs more than a single month’s rent. His Rolex glistens as he slides his hands in his pockets. The bruise on his face from where I punched him is barely noticeable.

“Getting all settled in?” he asks, casually.

He looks around, admiring the books that I’ve started filling the completely unnecessary floor-to-ceiling bookcase with.

“It’s a work in progress.” He turns back to me. “You’re healing nicely.”

He gives me a sheepish smile.

“Ah, you noticed? Yes, apparently the trainers at my new MMA gym believe in tough love.”

I try to hold back a smile.

“Of course, your new MMA gym... Well, you should tell those trainers that they hit like a girl.”

I give him a wink as I notice the tips of his ears turn a crimson red.

“I’ll have to do that.” He grows quiet. I haven’t seen Declan around the office much since the night he snuck up on me. I’m not sure if it’s just coincidence, or if he’s been avoiding me. “I was wondering if you’re free for lunch today?” he asks, finally. “We still need to celebrate you starting here.”

A relieved smile spreads across my face. Tension lifts from my shoulders.

“That sounds nice.”

“Good. Meet me out in the lobby at eleven-thirty?”

“Okay.”

* * * * *

Declan has a car pick us up and takes us to Dara’s Deli. The whole way over I can smell the expensive cologne Declan is wearing. I’ve never smelled it on him before and I can’t help but flash back to what Tawny told me last night. Is it possible he really is interested in me?

We are seated at a nice table on the patio so we can enjoy the beautiful, early summer day. Declan sits back in his chair with a cool look on his face. His piercing blue eyes settle on me, studying me.

“How are you liking things, so far?” he asks.

I grin at him.

“Fine. Everyone’s been so wonderful to me.”

“Good. It’s good to finally have a Barnes in the company again. I’m glad you didn’t decide to go work somewhere else.”

I shake my head. “I can’t imagine being anywhere else. BMG is my home. I want to carry on Daddy’s legacy and make sure people realize how great of a man he was.”

“That’s an admirable goal.”

I give him a faint smile.

“Have you heard anything about Europe?” I ask.

His features darken a little.
