Abruptly, Emmet rolled over on his back, taking me with him and impaling me on his organ. His hands gripped my hips and he held me tightly as he continued to thrust inside of me. The new position allowed me to take him impossibly deeper and to rub against that hard to reach spot inside my pussy.

“Emmet,” I cried out as the head of his cock repeatedly hit that wondrous spot. “I can’t…I’m going to…”

In response, Emmet thrust harder. My head fell back and my whole body turned into a raw nerve as my orgasm began to consume me. When Emmet’s thumb pressed on my clit, I tried to knock his hand away, but he was relentless, rubbing in fast, hard circles as he continued to hold my hip with one hand and drive his cock inside of me. My mouth opened, but only gasps and small sounds of a struggle escaped because I was choked by my delectation. When sound finally left my mouth, it was sob, a scream, and a moan. Emmet released my hip and reached up and rolled a nipple between his fingers. Without any control over my body, I rocked on his cock as my orgasm took me higher than I have ever been before. His rigid penis deep inside of me, his thumb on my clit, his fingers rolling my nipples and his heated, loving gaze was so good that it hurt. I collapsed on Emmet, trembling, breathless and with fat tears falling from my eyes. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my face as he continued to gently push his erection inside of me.

After a few gentle moments, Emmet pushed himself up into a sitting position. I wrapped my legs around him and draped my arms over his shoulders and locked my hands behind his neck.

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered as he pushed several strands of hair out of my eyes.

We moved slowly now. I nibbled gently on Emmet’s ear lobe and kissed his neck. I loved the taste of his skin and his soft gasps when my teeth bit into his flesh.

“Are you on birth control?” he asked softly as I suckled on his neck.

“Mmmhmm,” I answered and moaned as I felt his cock twitch inside of me.

“The pill?”

I licked the place where I just marked him and said “Yes.”

Gently, but firmly, he grabbed a handful of my hair and pulled my head back so that we were face to face.

“I want you off of it,” he demanded. “Don’t take anymore. Throw the pack away. Do you understand?”

Did I understand? Yes. Emmet wanted a baby. With me.

I nodded and gave him a small smile. Satisfied with my response, Emmet rolled us over again and then kissed me briefly.

“You are going to be my wife,” he said as he began to push and pull his hard rod inside of me again. He groaned and licked his lips before speaking again.

“And we are going to make a baby,” I breathed.

Emmet’s eyes closed briefly, as if my words brought him just as much pleasure as my body.

“Yes,” he breathed. “Yes.”

He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me deeply as he began to thrust madly. I held onto him as he drove his cock hard and deep inside of me and his pelvis rubbed against my clit. Emmet was moaning loudly into my mouth as his rhythm increased. After a minute or so he released my mouth to murmur incoherent words in my neck.

“I want to feel you come inside of me,” I panted in his ear.

“Donya,” he groaned. His body began to shudder and with another loud groan, Emmet began to come. When the first burst of hot semen was released, my legs closed around him and I tried to pull him in deeper. His cock jerked violently as more of the warm cream filled me. When it finally stopped, Emmet’s weakened body slackened against mine.

Debilitated and exhausted, my hand leisurely stroked his hair as I struggled to keep my eyes open. We lay like that for a long time, until our breathing regulated and our hearts resumed a normal cadence.

“Are you okay?” Emmet asked. I didn’t open my eyes, but I felt him turn his head to face me.

“I’m more okay than I’ve been in a very long time,” I said tiredly.

“Good. Me, too.” He left a light kiss on my lips and then got up.

I opened my eyes and watched as his naked ass walked into the bathroom. When I heard the shower start up a moment later, I pushed myself out of bed and went to join him.

“Well, hello, sexy,” he smiled when I stepped into the stall with him.

“Hi,” I said, wrapping my arms around his wet body. I rested my head on his shoulder as he smoothed my hair.

“This feels like a dream,” Emmet said after a while.

“Wake up, baby,” I said and pinched his arm. “This is real.”

“You’re really going to marry me?” he asked quietly. I didn’t miss how his body stilled when he asked the question.

“Yes,” I said and squeezed him tighter. He relaxed, but not completely.

“And you are going to give me more children?” he questioned.

“Yes,” I said and kissed his shoulder. “I promise. I’ll give you anything you want, Emmet. I love you.”

He held me closer and breathed a deep sigh of relief. “I love you so much, Donya.”

“I’m sorry I wasted so many years,” I said, feeling pressure building in my chest. “We should have been together a long time ago. I was so selfish. I -” I was silenced when Emmet pulled out of my embrace and put his finger to my lips.

“Don’t,” he said softly as he looked me in the eyes intently. “We were both at fault, okay? We can’t change what happened back then. We’re together now and that’s what matters. Besides,” he smiled. “We have got two beautiful kids, and neither of us would ever erase that.”

I nodded silently.

“I love you, Donya,” he said and kissed my nose. “I’ll never get tired of saying that or hearing it. I love you.”

“I love you,” I said, caressing his cheek with the back of my hand.

Emmet gave me a smile that lit up every dark corner that existed within me. He leaned in to kiss me and my lips parted for his kiss. My body molded with his. My heart and his heart beat together as one.

Chapter Sixty

Six weeks later, I stood in front of a full length mirror, gazing contently at my reflection. The strapless, pale pink, ruched tulle, empire waist wedding gown I designed was elegant yet simple. I wore the charm bracelet on my wrist, my engagement ring on my left ring finger, and a pair of small diamond and white gold studs in my ears. I skipped the obnoxious tiara and let my curled hair fall loosely over my shoulders and I pinned a pink orchid on one side of my head. I did my own makeup, light, simple, and fresh.

Sam fussed over every tiny detail – my dress, my hair, my jewelry and shoes, and makeup, but I wasn’t annoyed. I didn’t feel the need to get away. The term about wild horses dragging me away couldn’t hold more true than it did on this day. In a matter of minutes, I was going to marry Emmet Grayne, and it would take forces greater than the universe to stop us.

We were meant to be together. The force holding us together is bigger than us; it’s bigger than the entire universe.

“How do you feel?” Emmy asked me as she stood beside me looking into the looking glass.

“Perfect,” I said and met her eyes.

Perfect was an understatement. Even with Rosa in my life, I didn’t feel whole. A part of me was always with Emmet, and deep down I knew that I could never be complete without being joined to him. I imagined that once our vows were read and we became one, that the universe would celebrate with shootings stars and grand cosmic happenings in the skies above. Sparks would erupt from our bodies as we held each other and sealed our nuptials with a kiss.

“I’m sorry,” Emmy spoke softly to my reflection.

“For what?” I turned and looked at the real Emmy next to me. I was alarmed to find her eyes welling with tears. “What is it?” I asked, taking her hands into mine.

“Sweetie, what’s wrong?” Sam asked and wiped away one of the tears that had begun to trickle down her daughter’s face.

“I see it now, what you and Emmet mean to each other,” Emmy said, sniffling. “There is this…power…that radiates from the two of you when you’re together. It’s dazzling and blindingly beautiful, and I’m responsible for keeping you apart for all of these years.”

“Emmy, no,” I said softly and wiped her tears with my thumbs. Now I was starting to tear up. “That was us, not you.”

“I made so many derogatory comments when we were kids that you felt that you couldn’t be out in the open about your feelings for him. Damn, Donya…all of those times I brought up all of Emmet’s conquests…” she laughed humorlessly. “I’m not even sure how many of those were true. And don’t forget the doozy. It was me who convinced you that your life and career was more important than your relationship with Emmet. You could have been together all of this time and been spared all of the heartache and pain you guys have had.”

Sam sniffed and wiped away her own tears and looked at me guiltily. “I saw there was something between the two of you when you were very young and it didn’t fit in with what I wanted for you both, so I’m just as responsible for keeping ya’ll apart.”

“You two are so stupid,” I laughed and cried at the same time. I took their hands into mine and then they held hands, forming a tight triangular formation. “If anyone is to blame, it’s me. Emmet wasn’t afraid of you and Fred,” I told Sam. I looked at Emmy and said “And he sure as hell didn’t care what his kid sister thought about the situation, but I did. I didn’t want to upset anyone and I didn’t want to have to fight with anyone. When I made the decision to follow my career, Emmy, that was all me. That conversation with you just made it happen sooner rather than later. Stop blaming yourselves. Besides,” I said with a small shrug. “We have Rosa and Owen and I wouldn’t change that for anything.”

They each nodded and smiled at that.

“Now stop this damn crying,” I demanded as I pulled them in for a group hug. I held onto my true sister and mother for a few moments. I was so thankful for each of them. I wasn’t sure how my life would have turned out if I never met Emmy and if Sam and Fred never took me in.

“Okay, we’re running out of time,” I said, pulling away. “I can’t be late to my own wedding.”

We fixed our ruined makeup and made some final small adjustments to my hair and dress. Emmy handed me my simple bouquet of pale pink and white orchids. Her bouquet was similar, but smaller. Her maid of honor dress perfectly accented my gown, because I had designed it of course. It was a white, strapless dress with an empire waistline like mine, but an A-line skirt that fell just above her knees. The sash tied around the high waistline just under the bodice was the same pale pink as my dress. Sam had a pink and white orchid pinned to her white dress – you guessed it, also designed by yours truly. I designed the garments for the entire wedding party, long before I knew I would be using any of it in my own wedding.

“I wish your mama was here to see this,” Sam said sadly as she stood back to admire me.

“Me, too,” I said quietly. “She’s missed a lot.”

“She would have been proud, and happy for ya, honey, I know it,” Sam said. “I know she had her problems, but we all do.”

I nodded and we let the conversation drop, because I didn’t want to be sad on my wedding day.

With only about ten minutes left until the ceremony was to begin, there was a light knock on the door.

“Who is it?” Sam demanded with a hand on her hip. She refused to let anyone see me before the start of the ceremony.

“Father of the bride,” Fred called from the other side. “And flower girl extraordinaire.”

I smiled and turned around just as Sam opened the door for Fred and Rosa.

“I’ll wait for you outside,” Sam told her husband. I felt like I should look away when he took his wife’s face into his hands and kissed her tenderly.

“Ick. Gross,” Emmy murmured beside me, but when I looked at her she was smiling warmly at the pair. “I’ll see you in a few minutes,” she said and followed her mom out of the room.

I adjusted the pink and white flowers in Rosa’s hair as I smiled down at her. She looked tired and I hoped that she would be able to make it through the ceremony without having a meltdown.

“I’ve never seen you look as beautiful as you do now, Kiddo,” Fred said, blinking rapidly.

“Oh, no, not you, too,” I said, putting a hand on his arm. “Why are you about to cry? You didn’t cry…last time.”

With the tears threatening to spill out of his eyes, his words came out strained, like he was trying not to break down. “Last time I knew it wasn’t right,” he nodded solemnly. “I knew that you loved him, but your heart wasn’t really in it, because your heart was with Emmet.”

I was blinking back tears again. “Why didn’t you stop me?” I whispered as I stroked Rosa’s hair. If he had stopped me, I wouldn’t have her, but I had to know why he let me make such a monumental mistake.

“It couldn’t be me to stop you,” he said, shaking his head and looking at me knowingly. “You know that. You wouldn’t have listened. The only person that could have stopped you was Emmet.”

I couldn’t even deny it. Sam had tried to talk some sense into me, too, and I blew her off. I was determined to do what I wanted to do, even though I knew it wasn’t the best thing to do. So headstrong, so stupid.

“And now?” I asked weakly.

Fred smiled lovingly. “Now this feels right. You and Emmet belong together. I’ve never seen two people more right for each other.”
