Chapter Twelve

The next day, Kyle made his way to the Dan Ryan Park 30 minutes early. He waited in the parking lot for the Corleones to arrive. He appeared to be there alone but he had his goons waiting out of sight just in case something went array. He watched as the Corleones pulled into the parking lot, all of them in matching Chevys. He despised these niggas.

Who the fuck these young boys think they are
? Niggas still got milk on their breath.
He thought to himself. Kyle had to put his envy for them aside and compose himself in their presence if he wanted his plan to work. He approached Cesar, because he was the one Corleone that he was acquainted with.

“What’s the deal
, Joe? Let me introduce you to the guys. This is Samir, Meko, Seven and Chase. Y’all remember, Kyle,” Cesar asked.

Kyle greeted each of them
, but in the back of his mind he loathed each one of them with their custom cars and designer clothes. Samir was the only one of them that didn’t look like a walking dope boy billboard.

“So, Cesar tell
s us you wanna make a few transactions with us on credit,” Samir inquired.

“Well
, actually I wanted to purchases six upfront and have the other four put on credit.” Kyle responded.

“Four is a lot for a first time deal. We don’t usually operate that way. We don’t really front nigga
s unless they been dealing with us for a while and this being the first time, I don’t feel like it would be a good idea for us to front you seventy eight thousand just off the bat, even if you are buying six.” Meko immediately opposed.

“I understand that my
G, but I can guarantee the money when y’all deadline it and if I can’t move it in that time, I’ll return every gram.” Kyle explained.

“We not worried about it not moving because we stand behind our product
. If it doesn’t move, we’ll buy our shit back,” Seven interjected.

“I agree
. That’s the least bit of our worries. We just never did business with you before as Meko explained, so we’re on the fence about that much being handed out on the first run,” Samir added.

“Fellas
, if I may step in here. This is the first time for Kyle fucking with us but you must start somewhere and he’s meeting the minimum. I vouch for him. I already gave him our full expectations. He’s fully aware of the parameters of this deal,” Cesar defended Kyle. He had no idea of Kyle’s plans and he didn’t allow himself to listen to what the hood was saying because he was blinded by the money. Cesar’s greed was about to convince his otherwise cautious crew to make a decision that was about to put them in bed with the devil.

The
Corleones listened to the rest of Kyle’s proposal and retreated to make their final decision. Cesar informed Kyle that he would call him later with a yes or a no on his proposition.

Kyle was nervous that his subtle approach wouldn’t get him in the door
, so he quickly thought of a plan B to hit the Corleones where it would hurt. He figured he would receive a no on this first go round, so he would need another plan of action to achieve his goal.

Once they left the park, Samir had the guys follow him downtown to Lawry’s Steakhouse to discuss whether or not they were going to front Kyle the work he was requesting.

“What y’all think about that nigga?” Samir asked his crew, once they were seated at their table.

“Y’all already know my position
. I think the nigga got a shady rep and something about him rubs me the wrong way,” Meko responded.

Mek, you’re so damn negative. We sell dope, my nigga. We’re in the business of making money. If a muthafucker can meet our requirements, then he shouldn’t be put off limits,” Cesar scolded.

“Nigga
, fuck a requirement; I got a bad feeling about this. And just because a nigga can meet some shit, don’t mean we have to accept every offer coming our way. Damn, my nigga, have some discretion sometimes. Not everybody deserves to fuck with us. The DEA can meet our requirements too, silly ass nigga.” Meko clapped back.

“You nigga
s need to calm the hell down. Y’all starting to sound like females with all this bickering,” Chase’s silence was broken out of annoyance.  “Both you niggas have a point; on one hand, we don’t need to fuck with everybody, and on the other hand, we are dope boys, so who the fuck are we to judge a nigga.”

“Well
, this is exactly why we make these decisions together. We aint gone always agree on shit, but the five of us can always find a solution, so instead of going back and forth let’s just put the vote on the table and go from there.” Seven added.

Seven’s point of view defused the bomb that was about to go off between Cesar and
Meko. Meko didn’t trust Kyle and he wanted to protect his crew from any problems. His intuition never steered him wrong and whenever he felt something was wrong in his gut, he stood his ground; he didn’t care who opposed, even if it was his best friend.

Seven opened the table up for the vote that was driving a wedge between his brothers.
“So, I’ll get this thing started. I say nay because the nigga seemed too nervous and anxious when we linked up with him, so I’m saying no. Ces, what’s your vote?” Seven asked.

“Y’all know my vote. I’m saying yay because we are in the business of making money
, like I said before.” Cesar answered.

“Ok
ay, that’s one no and one yes. Chase, what’s your vote?”

“I mean
, the nigga meeting our requirement, so… I say we give him a chance to prove himself. I’m saying yay.” Chase responded.

Meko, your vote.”

“I’m saying hell no because I don’t trust that nigga.”

Okay, we tied. So, this thing come downs to you, Samir. What’s your vote?” Seven asked their leader.

Samir sat in silence for a while before he gave his vote. He wanted to make the right decision. He was the head of th
e crew, so ultimately whatever happens, good or bad would fall down on him. He took each one of his boys feelings into consideration before making the final vote that would make or break Kyle’s plans.

“Cesar, tell me
, honestly, do you trust this nigga?”

“Yea
h, my G. I trust him.”

Aight then, with that, I vote yay. But if anything goes wrong with this, Ces… I’m holding you personally responsible,” Samir sealed Kyles fate with the final vote.

Cesar excused himself from the table to
call Kyle and let him know their decision. The next day, Cesar met with Kyle at the Corleones Roseland trap house to set up the arrangement. He let Kyle know that he had 30 days to have the return on the four kilo’s he was being fronted. Cesar ran Kyles money through the money counter to make sure every dime was accounted for. Once the logistics of the deal were squared away, Cesar had one of his workers bring up 10 kilos of their best work to close on his deal with Kyle.

Once Kyle knew the location of one of the main Corleone trap houses
, he set his plan in motion. Finally, he had the inside he needed and he was about to be the first problem the Corleones would experience in their young careers.

Chapter Thirteen

Two weeks into their situation with Kyle, Samir met up with Meko to make sure he was okay with their decision. Meko had been a little distant since the night they voted on fronting Kyle the product. Meko couldn’t accept the fact that the vote didn’t go his way, but he accepted their system and he had to respect his brother’s choice to take this particular deal. Samir arrived at Meko’s grandmother’s new home and called for Meko to come take a ride with him.

Once
Meko came out to join him, Samir could immediately sense his uneasiness about the situation, so he decided to hear his brother out over a blunt of the best weed Chicago had to offer.

“Sam
, my nigga, I just don’t trust that nigga,” he expressed, as he inhaled the marijuana smoke into his lungs.

“Why tho
ugh, bro? I mean, we don’t really have no proof this nigga is really what  the streets is saying about him.”

“It
don’t really have shit to do with what people got to say. I just have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach about that nigga, from jump. This shit is not gone turn out well, Sam. I can feel it.”

Samir listened to his brother’s feelings and knew that
Meko was passionate about what he was saying. It was enough for Samir to take him serious. As he took another drag of his swisher, he gave Meko the green light he needed. “I feel you Mek, and if you feeling that strongly about this situation, then I want you to watch that nigga. Don’t make the nigga feel like he being watched, but keep tabs on him. If something happens to go amiss, then handle the situation. But handle it discreetly. I don’t want you to think we don’t have your back, because we do.” Samir put his brother at ease with them voting against him. He knew Meko was the goon of their crew, so if Kyle was going to pose a problem, Meko would be the one to rectify the issue quicker than it was started.

Samir and
Meko spent the rest of the day driving around Chicago, checking on various aspects of their operation.

Some time passed since Kyle convinced the
Corleones that fronting him would be a good business deal on their part and his deadline was approaching fast. He needed to make his move and he needed to make it soon. He assembled a crew of well-known jack boys to discuss when and how they were going to hit Samir’s Roseland trap house.

“Like I said before
, we have to get in and out before that nigga Cesar know what hit him. I have to give them niggas their return on Thursday, so that’s when we’ll hit them niggas. I’ma set up a meeting with this nigga Ces in Riverdale at four thirty. While I’m meeting with him, Vic, you and your crew need to be in position, waiting for my word to move. They normally have about four niggas in the spot at all times, so we gotta have our artillery ready to go. Once the money is handed over, I’m gonna page you to go in. Them niggas keep about fifty kilos in that spot. When y’all run up in there, take everything and take out everybody. Don’t leave nobody breathing because once them niggas find out they been hit, they gone come at everybody strong. But if y’all take everybody out it ensures us that this shit don’t come back.” Kyle informed his crew of the plan and set everything in motion.

Meanwhile
, on the other side of town, Meko made sure he had his best worker watching out for Kyle. He was waiting for the second Kyle fucked up so he could snuff him, just to make an example out of him to Cesar, for trusting snake ass niggas.

Cellphone ringing
.

“Yo, Mek, what’s up, boss?” Meko’s youngster answered.

“What’s the word on that issue?”

“It’s quiet right now, nigga just left the spot with a few of his people. I got a few of my niggas on him, so if he makes a mistake, we’ll be there to catch him.”

Aight, cool, keep me posted, Joe.” Meko informed his worker. Meko knew that it was time for Kyle to hand over his return and he was convinced that he would default on his agreement, so he was on edge waiting on the inevitable. He decided to meet up with Samir and Chase while he waited for his workers to give him the word he was waiting for. He had no idea about Kyle’s motives. What Kyle had planned for them, would cost them more than four measly kilos of coke.

“Where you nigga
s at?” Meko asked, speaking into his phone receiver.

“Meet us at
Harolds on seventy ninth, bro and hurry up.” Samir responded.

When
Meko arrived, he inquired about Chase and Cesar’s whereabouts. He was informed that Cesar was on his way to meet Kyle, to pick up the money he owed. Meko was surprised to hear that Kyle was actually meeting with Cesar, but he wasn’t about to let his fear go that easy. His focused shifted from Kyle not returning the money, to him setting Cesar up to be ambushed.

“Why aint nobody go with
Ces? I don’t trust this nigga, Kyle. Cesar shouldn’t be doing that shit alone,” Meko said, anxiously

Meko, bro… relax; Cesar gone be straight. Everything is good. I didn’t trust that nigga either, but he got our bread, so maybe we need to be men and admit we were wrong on this one.” Seven responded.

“I
’m never wrong, G. Never. Something aint right and I won’t relax until my young boy hit me.”

Samir would usually engage his boys
, but his attention wasn’t on Kyle, Cesar or even his business at the moment, instead, he was focused on something that took his breath away.

There she was
, standing in line, laughing with her friend. She had to be the most beautiful girl Samir had ever seen. He stood there, in awe of her as she walked up to the window to order.

Yo, Kish, give her whatever she wants and put it on my bill.” Samir told the cashier.

Ummm, excuse me, but I don’t need you to pay for anything and I don’t even know you dude.” the mystery girl snapped.

Khloe, shut up and let him pay. While you’re at sir, you can pay for mines too,” her friend added.

“I know you don’t know me
, but it’s only right that I pay for our first date, beautiful,” Samir joked

“First date
, at Harold’s, this is a pretty cheap date, sir.” she responded.

“I’m just kidding sweet
ie, but not about paying though. I’m Samir by the way,” he said, extending his hand.

“Well
, Samir, I’m Khloe and it’s nice to meet you,” she couldn’t help but smile as she shook his hand because Samir was a very handsome guy. His deep dimples and caramel skin color was enough to give any girl goose bumps. “I noticed you when we came in and my friend here said you go to CVS high school; is this true?”

“Na
h, I don’t baby girl, I go to South Shore, but I’m graduating.”

Just as Samir was getting to know this beaut
iful young lady, Meko’s phones started ringing simultaneously. He noticed it was the workers he had watching Kyle.

“What’s up
, son?” Meko answered.

“Say
, boss, I’m at the trap in Rosland with four niggas trying to rob you, Joe. They said that nigga Kyle sent them. They took out your niggas before I could get here, but we caught up with them before they could shake the spot. What you want us to do?”

Muthafucker, hold them niggas there and send somebody to find that nigga, Kyle. We on our way,” Meko answered. He knew something wasn’t right and he was correct the whole time.

Just as he walked back into the restaurant to inform Samir, Seven and Chase, Samir’s
phone and two-way went off at the same time, as well as Seven and Chase’s.

Samir
knew right then that it was a problem. The message on his two-way was from Tim. He was informing him of a problem they had.

“Say
, Miss Khloe; take my number and call me later; as you can see, my phone is blowing up, so I gotta move around, but I’m gonna be waiting for your call,” he said.

“Ok
ay. I will.”

Samir kissed her hand and rounded up his fellas. He returned the missed called and was
told that his Riverdale spot had just been robbed.

What the fuck you mean, they hit us? Who the fuck hit us?” Samir snapped at his worker.

Meko
chimed in, “I told you niggas I didn’t trust that nigga, Kyle. That’s who hit us because he just had our Roseland spot hit but my boys were on look out and prevented them from moving out of there. They still got them niggas hemmed up over there.”

Fuuuuuccckkk! This shit is not happening right now. This nigga, Cesar said he fucking trusted this nigga. We should of listened to you, bro. My pops is not gone be happy about this. Seven, call that nigga, Cesar and tell him to get his ass to his fucking spot, right fucking now!”  Samir demanded. As he gave out his command, his father called him.

“Pops, I already know why you calling me
. I’m going to take care of this shit. Don’t worry.”

“Son, surprise block parties are unacceptable and it cost money
, so you better make an example out of the organizers, quick. The next time I speak to you this better be a memory, you understand me?” Carlyle calmly scolded his son.

“I got you pops.
Meko,” he said, turning around. “You have my blessing to turn this muthafucking city upside down until you find this nigga.”

Samir knew
that news traveled fast, so before he found out that Kyle was jacking his spots, the hoods had already caught wind of what happened and now the streets were waiting to see how the youngsters were going to react. He knew his reaction had to be an example that rang bells around Chicago so that no one would ever pull a stunt like this again.

Meko
was a natural born killer and this situation infuriated him because he knew that something was going to go wrong. He was dead set on dismantling every nigga involved. The Corleones were dealt their first blow, and everybody was watching.

Samir’s phone rang with a number that he didn’t recognize
. At first he was going to let it ring, but his gut told him to answer it.

Yo, state your case.”he answered.

“You have a collect call from a
n inmate in the Cook County Jail. Do you accept the charges?”

“Fuck
. Yeah, I accept,” Samir reluctantly accepted.

“Fuck
, my ass. What the hell is going on out there Samir? I’m hearing you had two surprise fucking block parties back to back!” Sincere yelled into the receiver.

“Yea
h, Sin, but I got it handled. My phone been blowing up and I don’t need this shit from you, bro. I should’ve known, but I’ll handle the people responsible for not following the rules. Don’t stress. I got it.” Samir explained to his big brother.

“Samir, fix that shit and bring your ass down here Saturday and when you come
, that shit better be dealt with.”

“Ok
ay bro, it will.” he said, hanging the phone up. Samir had to make Kyle pay because he made him look like a fool in his father’s eyes and now in his brother’s.

He was furious with Cesar
, mostly for bringing Kyle to their attention. Cesar’s greed tarnished an otherwise spotless reputation the Corleones spent the last year building. His carelessness made them look weak and Samir was intent on holding him personally responsible.

When they arrived
at the trap, where Meko’s crew was holding the jack boys, Cesar was walking into the house, and before he knew it, Samir was jumping out of his car, without as much as putting it in park.

“What the fuck is wrong with you
, Cesar? Why the fuck did you bring this nigga in our ranks?” He yelled, shoving Cesar to the ground. Before he could go any further, Chase was pulling him off of Cesar.

“Calm down Sam, don’t let these nigga
s see us fall apart, Ces, aint have nothing to do with this.”

“Fuck that Chase, that nigga knew he was shady from jump
,” Meko said, as he lunged at Cesar, but Seven held him back from attacking.

“Chill nigga,
Ces, aint got shit to do with these bogus ass clowns. He saw an opportunity and he took it. Let’s clean this shit up instead of blaming each other. These streets are watching and they can’t see us show weakness.” Chase said, being the voice of reasoning he always was.

“You right
. My bad, but I told you, bro I was going to hold you personally responsible if something went wrong and I meant that. I apologize for losing my cool, but after we handle this shit, everybody needs to meet me at my fucking condo.” Samir demanded.

When the
Corleones walked inside their spot, they were greeted by Carlos, Meko’s most loyal working. He looked up to Meko and the rest of the Corleones, so to be able to show them he could handle himself was a dream in his eyes. He was more than ready to put in work for them, even if that meant erasing niggas from the map.

Carlos led them
to the basement where Kyle’s jack-boys were being held. Samir didn’t recognize any of them, except for one. He recognized fourteen year old Kelsy. He already had his mind made up to murder everybody in the room, but the fear in this kid’s eyes bothered him. He knew he couldn’t show compassion because his reputation was on the line. If he showed any mercy, he would be viewed as weak and niggas would come out the wood work to take him out of his spot.
