Once again the dark cloaked figure stared out the wide casement window of his upper tower quarters and dwelled on recent events. Events had been set in motion that would mark the beginning of nothingness. The Illian were acting as ordered and paid to do and his spy was well on his way to performing the task that had been given him.

The news of a second champion though was troublesome. Another of his human couriers just left after delivering that bit of irritating news. The Dark Excellency himself did not know it's meaning, or if it would have even the slightest impact on his long term plans. Tonight he would perform the sacred ritual using the entrails of a dozen slaves to gain meaning from the Devourer on what this portended.

He was not overly concerned however, as the Devourer itself assured him victory would be had, and he, the Dark Excellency would reign over the shattered world for a thousand years, to rebuild it as he wished. A wide sadistic grin stole over the face of the figure as he continued to look out the window at all his subject that would soon know the true meaning of service and pain.

Jay is a dedicated self-styled player who gets lucky more often than not, and has a soft spot for children. As one of ‘those survivalists' they always talk about on the news, he's better prepared than most when the shit hits the fan. During the coming days and weeks, he will be forced through circumstances to grow up (reluctantly) and does his utmost to save his community from the forces of the secret Shadow Government, while melding close friends, survivors, and salvaged military units on the run into a force to be reckoned with! But it isn't over yet, because Jay is a Marine, and he has a few tricks up his sleeve which he fully intends to implement while accumulating as many girlfriends as possible.
This series will have you laughing hysterically at Jay's womanizing antics, then crying like a baby during scenes of heartrending tragedy and sacrifice. It will also make you cheer when and if the forces of good triumph over those of evil. The Reaper must convince the survivors to band together and take their town back from the marauders – all whilst fighting the hordes of undead, their mutual distrust of one another, and their fear of the overwhelming numbers arrayed against them.
