The effects of the decorating were completely staggering. How in the hell had they gotten so much done? The apartment was a readymade home for the two of them with their tastes and personality thrown around. Calli just stood there, when he pushed past her to see the large king-size bed, he grinned, they did know him; he thought. The bed was going to be the right size for the things he planned to do.

Calli wandered back out into the living room and stood with her hands on her hips frowning. Kade came up behind her and said, "So what do you think?"

"What do I think?" she said in a panicked tone. "I think some old dragon is gonna get her as kicked for snooping somewhere she doesn't belong. How the fuck did she know all this? Rissa and Cherri would never have told her. We didn't share anything about our place with anyone."

"Ms. Praton is a little strange. I wouldn't question it. But I love it. We won't have to do much to get this the way that we want it. I mean all of it is great, just a few things of my own I would like to add," Kade said slowly and quietly.

Calli snorted and then saw the computer. He knew it was going to set her off when he felt the tension fill her body, and she practically snarled and stomped over to the computer.

"Calli Young, code 374921, enter," she said briskly to her computer, and the stupid voice said back to her, "Denied Access."

Kade closed his eyes and waited for the explosion that was coming.

Calli felt the rage building in her, how dare they do this without asking? She and Kade had not claimed each other yet. The apartment, okay, someone had found out their tastes, Brooks and Ms. Praton, fine, but no one fucked with her work. She was not ready to take this step. They had just found each other, hell he could suck in bed, and she would have to lose him.

The thoughts were running around in her head not taking any form, but driving her crazy. Her parents and family, the girls, all of it. Calli felt Kade behind her and wanted to lash out at something.

"This is all your fucking fault. Everything would be fine if you and your mating urge would have never shown up. I mean this sucks; we have just met, and you're telling me that I already have my name changed and can't access my stuff. Bullshit," Calli yelled.

Kade took a deep breath before responding. He knew this was going to be an issue and a fight. "I'm sure that whoever set this up just assumed. We can call and get it straightened out," Kade said calmly.

"Fuck that, I know who set up these computers, and I will not be pushed into anything. I have a choice," Calli said and picked up the phone.

Kade grabbed it out of her hand and said firmly. "We're going to start as we mean to go on. This means that while we're at home, I'm the Alpha. Not you. So suck it up, we're mates, and you know it. This is your little tantrum about mating and shit, fine. I have put up with this all day, but this is home. We have some rules that need to be set."

Calli glared at him and then walked quietly to the kitchen where Kiki and Thomas were trying hard to stare at the ceiling and floor, anywhere but at her. They, of course had been listening, and Kiki was dying to go and tell Cherri. Her wolf was not pissed at all, damn it. After Kade made the announcement, it was like she accepted it, damn mating bond was already forming.

"Please go to your rooms and see them, unpack and relax. Kiki yours is on the left and Thomas on the right. We need a few minutes here. Then we are ordering in dinner," she said in a steely tone which had both men hopping and walking to their room quickly. Thomas paused and instead of going into his room, he followed Kiki. Calli knew the Enforcer didn't want to leave Kiki alone until they checked out the security.

She turned around slowly and looked at Kade. "So, really, you're the Alpha of the home, huh?" she said with a teasing tone in her voice. Kade wasn't stupid; he backed up, good for him. He at least could read her body language already. Her voice may be sweet, but her body was taunt and ready to kick some ass.

"Yes, I am. I know this is all knew and stuff, but listen. While we're at work, we are partners, although I will give you the seniority part. I'm your partner and I will have your back, but I can be man enough to say that you are the one calling the shots, as long as you don't get yourself killed." Kade said reasonably.

Calli nodded and then said, "And when work is over?"

"Then we are a couple. Together making decisions, but I'm telling you right now. My wolf is as Alpha as you can get. So if we need to have a little lesson on who is going to be the man in the relationship, let's do it," he grinned. "Spanking your ass until you submit to me would be a pleasure."

The arousal in the room kicked up a notch. "You don't know me well enough to be making demands like that," Calli said and walked in a circle around him.

She was testing him. She wanted to see how far he would go with this. "We aren't mated yet. I haven't even decided if I like you, let alone will fuck you," Calli laughed.

Kade narrowed his eyes, and she knew that she was pushing him hard. She needed to see how compatible they were. The heat was getting stronger, and she knew they would be screwing tonight. She could feel her wolf ready to give in to the male, but she wasn't sure.

"You will," Kade said confidently and then began to stalk her.

"How are you planning this to go, can I ask?" Calli said. This was going to be the deal breaker. He would not force her into to something too soon.

"Not too hard, we deal with the heat. We have to, or the wolves will be riding us too hard. I have no problem following the traditional way. Courting and everything before the claiming. But make no doubt who is the man in this relationship, and this is going to be a mating. You know it, and I know it; the feeling is already there. I can feel the bond forming already. But you will not be my boss in the evening, sugar. Those are all mine," he said huskily, and she felt her panties get a little wet at his tone. Since they had met she knew it was going to come to a head like this.

"My friends are my Pack, and they are the most important people next to my family. The three of us broke off from our families' Packs when we moved in together. So you take one, you get us all. Even when the girls find their mates. I have been the Alpha of this Pack for a long time. Even my parents don't question it. So I won't have you," Calli stated.

"No question, you are currently the Alpha of your Pack. But when I claim you, and you submit to me, I will be the new Alpha of the Pack." Kade stated a matter of fact, tone of voice.

Calli felt her wolf growl, at first she thought it was in anger, then she realized it was to tell her that she accepted this man as the Alpha. But Calli, the woman, wasn't sure, "We'll see, but for now; we have a few things to get straight, as you said."

Kade grinned at her; he knew what was coming. Her wolf may accept him as the Alpha, but her human self needed to be shown he was up for the challenge. Kade stopped circling the room when she did; she watched him closely and could tell he was preparing himself for the battle.

Calli grinned and then lifted her hands and made the motion for him to 'bring it'. Kade shook his head and said, "You wanted this; you start."

Calli nodded and stepped forward. She was not going to go down easily, she decided. She knew she was not going to win this little battle of the wills, but she had to do it anyway; he could see the understanding in her eyes. She was an Alpha, if he wanted her place, he had to take it.

Slowly, she walked around him and then tried to sweep his feet as she dropped to the ground. Kade moved but not quite quick enough as she caught one of his feet, and he fell on the floor. She quickly moved to straddle him around the waist, trying to grab his beefy arms. It didn't work because she was on her back in the blink of an eye, and he was now straddling her waist and had effectively grabbed her hands and held them.

Calli grinned and bucked, swinging her legs up, wrapping them around his neck and flipped him above, so they were lying on their sides. Kade laughed and pinched her ass, and then threw a leg around her middle and broke her hold, flipped her over quickly so she was once again on her back. This time he was stretched over her. His body was heavy enough to pin her to the ground.

Kade bent and nipped at her lips, then took the punch to the side she gave him. They grappled for dominance for a few minutes before Kade finally pinned her to the ground and held her still.

"I am the Alpha of this Pack," he ground out so she didn't have any question how serious he was.

Her eyes flashed for a second, her wolf accepting the statement, and she finally realized she wanted to submit. She wanted her mate to be tough enough to protect her and her friends. He would be the Pack leader; his Alpha wolf was strong enough to do it. God help anyone who threatened them, she thought and then nodded.

Kade could feel the power of being the head of a Pack flow through him, and then he heard Rissa and Cherri's howl from a distance. Both of them accepting his claim as well. Calli groaned under him, and he looked down. Now that the dominance had been established, she was feeling the heat again. The arousal flowed around him, and he bent over and kissed her. Claiming only her mouth as a sign of victory. The kiss was dominating, showing her that he was in charge. Calli easily let him play the role. She opened her mouth and they explored each other, not dueling like before, no, this was a victory kiss. She could feel his happiness flow around them. Technically, since she had given him the position of Alpha, he could claim her, but he wouldn't do that to her. Calli needed to give herself to him freely before he took her. For now, he would have to be happy being the Alpha of their Pack. He would do his job and make sure they were safe, always. He hoped when Cherri and Rissa found their mates, they would be willing to accept him. It could cause problems, but for now, he was the Alpha.

Kade jumped up and held out his hand to Calli and pulled her up to him. He quickly kissed her again, but knew that Thomas and Kiki were standing at the door listening, as well as they could, in a sound proof room.

"Dinner, Greek, I believe you said," Kade said smoothly and grabbed her hand and led her to the door to Kiki's room. He knocked, and it opened right away.

"Shit, at least there's no bloodshed; this apartment is too pretty for there to be blood. I am not a cleaning bot," Kiki said and then looked at them holding hands. He rolled his eyes and walked out of his room with Thomas following, frowning at Calli.

"What?" she asked.

"Are you kidding me? Don't ever lock me in a room with her again. Damn, she just had to know what was going on. She even called Rissa and Cherri on the screen and gave them a blow by blow of what happened since we walked in the door," Thomas said and ran a hand through his hair. "I mean, I have no problem guarding her, but she's just freaking crazy."

Calli laughed and let Kade's hand drop and then yelled, "Kiki, Thomas is bitching about you."

"Yeah?" Kiki said lifting her head from the stack of order out menus that were on the counter. "Well, fuck him; he has no sense of humor. Kiki will not be squashed. She has to be free to express herself. He suggested I wear plain jeans and a t-shirt if we leave this place, so I would not draw so much attention. Can you believe cotton next to this skin? Never! Boy, you had better be thinking of a different plan, or we are never leaving this apartment."

Thomas hissed at Kiki, who laughed and waved a hand at him to go away. Thomas was a lion shifter, and he could be a serious bad ass if he wanted. Kiki should seriously think about how he was treating the shifter before he got his ass kicked.

Shrugging her shoulders, Calli said, "We're having Greek, so put the fucking menus down. Already decided."

"What? Who left the skinny bitch in charge of the food?" Kiki yelled. "I was thinking some pasta."

Kade stepped forward and grinned, putting an arm around her shoulders, "I did."

Kiki narrowed his eyes and then laughed, "I gotta call the girls."

"They already know." Calli said smartly and then said, "I'm calling in the food."

"Damn, I hate being the last to know all the gossip," Kiki grumbled and then looked at Thomas, who was still pissed at him. Kiki snapped her fingers and said, "Hey, you're supposed to guard this precious body, why are you standing way over there?"

Thomas looked at Kade and hissed again. Kade thought this was going to be a long night. The Enforcer wasn't happy with the way things were going. He was going to be playing referee more than fucking his mate. This sucked.

Chapter 10

The door shut behind Kiki, and then Kade turned and looked at his mate who was standing by the window. He knew she felt bad about Kiki's leaving, but the heat was riding them both and making them crazy.

The entire dinner was a nightmare for the two of them. Touching and scenting each other was enough to make them crazy. Kiki and Thomas just watched in complete interest as they tried to control themselves. A few times Kiki made the wrong comment and got snapped at by both Calli and Kade.

The Drama Drag Queen finally announced she needed some time with the girls upstairs. They were going to be gone for a few hours, and Kade intended to make good use of it.
