Hannah laughed.
“Of course he was.”

Selena blushed.
“He actually said he would sleep with me but another night when I
wasn’t drunk.”

“Good man,
Reid.” Hannah said cheerfully.

Selena gave
Hannah a miserable look. “Then I might have, maybe, given him a
blow job.”

Hannah raised
her eyebrows at her. “Either you did or you didn’t, girl. There’s
no maybe in blow jobs.”

Selena dropped
her face into her hands again. “I did. I totally did.” She
whispered.

After a moment
she lifted her head. Hannah was drinking her coffee and studying
her fingernails.

“Well?” Selena
asked.

“Well,
what?”

“Aren’t you
going to tell me how terrible I am?”

“For giving a
man a blowjob? Honey, you’re not the first girl to drink too much
and do something she regrets.”

“I don’t regret
it.”

“Then what’s
the problem?”

“I – I don’t
know! Reid’s an instructor and a playboy, and I told him that I
wasn’t interested in just casual sex. And then the next thing I
know, I’m in his apartment and he’s pinned to the couch with my
mouth on his – “

She groaned.
“Fuck, I really am an idiot.”

“No, you’re
not.” Hannah said patiently. “And I’m sure that Reid had no problem
with you changing your mind and having happy mouth time with his
junk.”

Selena groaned
again. “Anyway, then I asked him again to fuck me and this time he
was all for it. He carried me to the bed, we were making out, and
he went into the bathroom to get a condom.”

“So you did
sleep with him?” Hannah asked.

Selena shook
her head. “No. That’s the last thing I remember. I passed out.”

“Oops.” Hannah
grinned at her. “What did Reid say this morning?”

Selena gave her
a look of panic. “I – he didn’t say anything because I woke up
before he did and I just grabbed my shirt and got the hell out of
his apartment.”

“Selena! You
have to talk to him about this.” Hannah scolded.

“I can’t! I –
I’m so embarrassed and I would never have gone to his apartment if
I hadn’t been drunk.” Selena wailed.

“Really? You’re
telling me the only reason you would have sex with Reid is because
you’re drunk?” Hannah said skeptically.

“Yes?” Selena
said hesitantly and Hannah snorted loudly.

“Bullshit,
Selena. You need to talk to Reid.”

“I know.” She
sighed. “I just, I need a few days to figure out what I’m going to
say.”

Hannah reached
out and squeezed her hand. “It’ll be okay, honey.”

“Yeah, maybe.”
Selena said morosely.

“It will be.
Listen, I don’t mean to be rude but you seriously need to shower.”
Hannah grinned at her. “Even if I wasn’t a Lycan, I’d be able to
smell you.”

Selena laughed.
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Time for the walk of shame back to my room.
Thanks for listening, Hannah.”

“Anytime,
honey.” Hannah replied.

“You’ve been
avoiding me all morning.”

Selena gave a
sharp gasp and jerked wildly before glancing behind her. “No, I
haven’t.”

She had just
finished target shooting and was putting the gun back in the small
room that housed the guns used for training. Lost in her thoughts,
she hadn’t heard Reid enter the room or the door shutting behind
him.

“Yes, you
have.” Reid said firmly. “We need to talk.”

“Reid, I have a
really bad headache and I’m tired and I’d just like to be left
alone, okay?”

“Sorry,
sweetheart, but you’re not going anywhere until we talk about what
happened in my apartment last night.”

She placed the
gun on the shelf and took a deep breath. “Yeah, about that. The
thing is – I don’t really remember what happened.”

“You don’t
remember.” He repeated.

“Not really. I
mean, I remember coming to your apartment and talking to you but
after that it’s pretty much a blur. It must have been embarrassing
though because I woke up in your bed without my shirt.”

She gave him an
embarrassed look over her shoulder. “I’m sorry for bothering you
when I was drunk. I shouldn’t have done that.”

He stepped
closer and when she tried to move away, he placed his hands on the
shelving and blocked her in.

“I think you’re
lying, Selena.” He said softly.

She continued
to stare at the shelf in front of her, trying to ignore the feel of
his hot breath on the back of her neck. “I’m not.”

“Really? You
don’t remember tearing my shirt off?”

“No.”

“You don’t
remember telling me that you masturbated every night while you
thought about me?”

“N-no.” She
stuttered. “And that isn’t true. I – I don’t think about you when
I, um, masturbate.”

“More lies.” He
said sternly.

She didn’t
reply and twitched when his hand, his delightfully hard and
deliciously warm hand, rested on her flat abdomen. She was wearing
yoga pants and his fingers toyed with the drawstring on them as he
spoke again.

“You asked me
to fuck you, Selena. Hell, you begged me to fuck you.”

“I did not.”
She croaked out.

“You did.” He
insisted. “And I refuse to believe that you don’t remember having
my cock in your mouth.”

She moaned
loudly as his hand slipped inside her pants and underwear and
cupped her pussy firmly. She was wet and he made a soft noise of
approval as he traced his fingers over the swollen lips of her
pussy.

“Oh, you
definitely remember.” He breathed into her ear.

“Reid.” She
moaned as she gripped the shelving.

“Yes,
sweetheart?”

“Please.”

“Please what?”
He pushed his fingers between her lips and rubbed at her clit.

She moaned
again and widened her thighs. She tried to step back, to lean
against his hard chest, but he placed his other hand in the small
of her back and prevented her from moving as his fingers moved
relentlessly over her clit.

“Does that feel
good?” He whispered.

“Yes.” She
murmured.

He slid his
finger down and eased it into her tight opening. “You’re so wet for
me, Selena. I fucking love how wet you are.”

“Oh!” She
gasped loudly when his fingers returned to her clit. He pinched and
tugged on the swollen bud as she panted and moaned.

“Tell me the
truth, sweetheart. Do you remember sucking on my cock?”

“Yes!” She
suddenly cried. “I remember!”

“Good.” He
breathed. “I’ve spent all morning thinking about how hot and wet
your mouth is, about how badly I want to come in your mouth and
watch as you swallow it all like a good girl.”

He tugged on
her clit again and she made a sharp cry of need as her hands
squeezed the shelving. “Please, Reid.”

“You asked me
to take you to my bed and make you mine. Do you remember that,
Selena?” He asked as his fingers paused in their rubbing.

She nodded. She
was on the knife’s edge of climaxing and she waited breathlessly
for Reid to touch her again. All she needed was one more tug, one
more stroke of his rough fingers, and she would find the release
she so desperately needed.

“I’m going to
make you come all over my fingers,” he breathed hotly into her ear,
“and then you’re going to come back to my room and I’ll do what you
asked. I’ll take you to my bed and make you mine. I want you under
me. I want you screaming my name as I make you come over and over,
as I slide my hard cock deep into your tight, wet pussy, and –

The door popped
open and Mannie stuck his head into the room. “Reid, there you are.
You’re late for the fucking meeting, you asshole. What the hell are
you – “

He stopped, his
eyes widening at the sight of Reid with his hand in Selena’s pants.
“Well, holy shit!”

Selena, her
face flaming red, yanked Reid’s hand out of her pants and fled the
room, pushing past Mannie and scurrying down the hall as Mannie
hollered after her. “You need to be at that meeting too,
Selena!”

He turned back
to Reid and grinned at him.

“You have the
worst fucking timing.” Reid snarled.

“Sorry, dude.”
Mannie laughed and held his hands up apologetically. “How was I to
know you were trying to bang Selena in the gun room?”

Reid glared at
him and Mannie laughed again. “Try to keep it in your pants at the
meeting, would you, Reid? I know it’ll be difficult with Selena
there but - ”

“Shut up,
Mannie!” Reid snapped and stalked out of the room.

Still laughing,
Mannie followed him.

Chapter 10

“Welcome,
everyone.” Jordan smiled at the crowd of people who had gathered in
the main training gym.

“I thought it
would be best if I introduced myself to everyone. I’m Jordan Hart
and I’m the new director of the facility. I know the last few weeks
have been a difficult time but we’re doing our best to get things
back to normal.”

He paused and
smiled at the large crowd. “I’m sure you’ve noticed the crew who
have been working outside. They’ll have our new surveillance system
set up tomorrow afternoon. This will help ensure that what happened
here at the facility, will never happen again.”

Hannah,
standing near the back with Will and Selena, made an unladylike
snort and Will squeezed her hand warningly as a few of the recruits
glanced back at them.

“There have
been a few changes to the program. We have a new group of recruits
joining us in the next few days. Constance, one of our weapons
instructors, will now be working solely with the new recruits. As
well, Hannah will be taking over the training of the kenjutsu until
our regular instructor, Chen, is back on his feet.”

Hannah smiled
faintly as the group of people turned to look at her. She could see
Alex and Paul standing together near the side and she grimaced at
the looks they were giving her. She would have to speak to them
about being their sparring partner and nothing more.

Jordan clapped
his hands and the crowd turned back to him. “I’m sure that over the
next few weeks, you’ll have plenty of questions. I want you to know
that my door is always open and I’m available for questions or
comments whenever you need to talk. As well, please feel free to
talk to any of the instructors if I’m not available. That’s it for
now. Again, if you have any questions or concerns, please talk to
myself or one of the instructors.”

He stepped back
and the crowd of people began to slowly disperse, talking quietly
among themselves. Mannie joined Hannah and the others and sighed
loudly. “Well, that went better than I thought.”

“What did you
think was going to happen?” Selena asked.

Reid appeared
beside her and a blush crossed her cheeks as she inched away.

“I thought for
sure there would be questions about why we allowed this attack to
happen in the first place.” Reid frowned. “Everyone seems
remarkably calm about what happened.”

“I think
they’re still in fucking shock.” Mannie grumbled. “No one can quite
believe it happened. There will be plenty of questions in the
future.”

“Does it matter
though?” Hannah questioned. “Do you really think Jordan or the
Board of Directors is going to care if the recruits or the
instructors are upset? If what you and Will told me is true,
they’re more concerned about increasing the number of recruits to
fight the vampires. If their current batch is unhappy, what do they
care?”

“They’ll want
to keep as many people in the program as possible. Pumping out the
new recruits is great but what they really need are the people
who’ve already graduated and proven themselves capable of slaying
vampires.” Will replied. “With the training period accelerated, the
program will need people like you and Selena and Mallorie and Ryan
to help the babies during the actual hunts.”

“Fuck!” Mannie
suddenly snapped. “They’re making a big mistake in changing the
program. If they think – “

“Keep your
voice down, Mannie.” Selena said nervously as she glanced at the
few people who were still milling about the gym. “If the babies or
recruits hear you talk that way, they’ll lose the little confidence
they have left.”

“Yeah.” Mannie
muttered. “I’m going to grab a bite to eat. You guys coming?”

Will and Hannah
nodded and followed Mannie to the door of the gym. Reid grabbed
Selena’s arm and tugged her to a stop.

“Hi, Selena.”
He grinned at her and she gave him a nervous look.

“Hello.”

“I was thinking
maybe you and I could have dinner at my apartment tonight. What do
you think?” He stroked her arm lightly and she cleared her throat
before tugging her arm free.

“That’s not a
good idea, Reid.”

“Sure it is. I
make a mean spaghetti sauce.”

“Reid, I’m
sorry but what happened in your apartment was a mistake. I was
drunk and I shouldn’t have done what I did. I’m really embarrassed
about it.”

He frowned at
her. “Then why did you do it, Selena?”

“I – because I
was drunk.” She stammered.

“Really? You
weren’t drunk in the gun room.” He replied. “What’s your excuse for
that?”

She sighed with
frustration. “Listen, obviously I’m attracted to you, but that
doesn’t mean us sleeping together is a good idea. In fact, it’s a
really, really bad idea.”

He winced. “You
sure know how to make a guy feel good, Selena.”

She flushed.
“I’m sorry. I’m blowing hot and cold with you and I know how that
makes me look, really I do, and I don’t mean to mess with you. I
just – I think it’s best if we stay away from each other.”

He sighed
angrily. “Yeah, you keep saying that. And then you show up at my
apartment begging me to fuck you. You get why I might be a little
confused, right?”

She stared down
at the floor. “I do. I’m sorry.”
