Alex, Alice, and Alistair

A
listair? Alistair!” It was Alice. “Come over here and let me hold you by the tail.”

“No way,” said Alistair. “I'm busy.” He quickly picked up his book.

“Alistair,” said his sister impatiently, “why waste your time
reading
about adventures when you could be
having
them? Come on, we need you.”

Alistair didn't see how being held by the tail by his sister who was standing on the back of the couch qualified as an adventure, but he got up from his chair and walked over anyway. He would help her in any way that did
not
involve being held by the tail.
