“No, only I should be allowed to see.” Daire raked her with a hungry look.

Seeing him look at her that way sent a shiver down her spine. What was it about this man that he could set her body on fire with just one look? When she was near him she lost all self-control.

“You are beautiful.”

“You just like the outfit,” Symarah accused, even though she knew it wasn't true.

“You could be wearing sweat pants with curlers in your hair and you'd still be beautiful,” Daire told her.

“Yeah right,” She scoffed.

I've seen you in your pajamas, he reminded her, and your big fluffy bathrobe.”

“Yeah, it's not the sexiest outfit is it?”

“On you it's beautiful,” he answered. “Everything about you is beautiful; the way you laugh, the way you think, your loyalty to friends, your kind and generous heart,” he said, as he tucked her hair behind her ear.

Symarah was stunned, she knew he found her physically attractive but he wasn't talking about her physical appearance. He was talking about her soul, about who she was as a person. She reached up and hooked her hand around the back of his neck. Pulling him to her, she pressed her lips gently against his. He could live a lifetime in this moment. Her soft kiss was like heaven to him. He deepened the kiss as he pulled her closer. Symarah's senses were reeling. Everything about him filled her with desire, his clean masculine scent, the taste of his lips, his strong but gentle touch. She loved the feel of his strong hands on her bare skin. She tangled her fingers in his hair, gently twisting the ends around her fingertips. Daire loved the way she played with his hair when they kissed. He ran his fingers down her neck to her shoulder.

Symarah moaned as his tongue intertwined with hers.

“I love the way you moan when I kiss you,” Daire whispered against her lips.

“I love the way your kisses make me moan,” she purred seductively.

He dipped his head down to kiss her neck. Symarah removed his shirt, needing to feel his skin against hers. She slowly ran her hands over his muscled shoulders. He unzipped her crimson bustier and tossed it aside. He cupped her breasts, her porcelain skin looked impossibly white against his tawny hands. He lowered his head and traced small circles around her nipple, occasionally flicking it with his tongue. The sight of his tongue sliding across her nipple drove her wild, she loved to watch his mouth on her skin. She leaned her head back as he sucked her nipple into his mouth, gently nibbling at it as he ran his hand up her thigh. Symarah purred at the sensation of his fangs gently scraping her nipple. He removed her black silk panties and ran his hand down her stomach until it rested between her legs. She was already moist. Knowing she was so wet for him made him even harder. He wanted her so badly that it almost hurt. He slowly slid one finger inside her. She sucked in a sharp breath as he quickly found her G-spot and her legs began to give out. Daire scooped her up and laid her on the bed. He took off her skirt, leaving her in nothing but her black suede thigh high boots. Kneeling between her legs, he left a trail of soft kisses from her mouth to her navel. Symarah loved the feel of his soft black hair brushing against her skin as he kissed his way down her body. He traced a circle around her belly button and then ran his tongue downward parting her other lips. Symarah moaned seductively as he ran his tongue across her swollen clit. It was obvious that he knew his way around a woman's body, every kiss, every touch was masterful, and it was clear that he was in no hurry to finish. He was taking his time, teasing her. Symarah had never experienced anything like this before. That's not to say that she had never had sex before, of course she had but never like this. She hadn't been with many men but Kassie was more free spirited than she was and not at all shy about sharing stories of her adventures. She knew that most men were not into foreplay and usually covered the bases pretty quickly and then headed straight for home, leaving the woman unsatisfied. With Daire it was different, he took his time. It was as if he was more interested in her needs than his own. Symarah grabbed onto the sheets underneath her and pulled as Daire plunged his tongue inside her. The sensation was almost too much, she could feel her muscles tightening. Daire could feel the heels of her boots digging into the back of his thighs. Not ready for her to finish, he raised up and kissed her softly.

“You like teasing me don't you?” Symarah said.

“I don't want you to cum yet caria,” Daire smirked.

She loved the way he spoke, his smooth lilt so strange and beautiful and when he spoke his native language, his accent deepened. She had no idea what he'd said but it stirred the flames inside her none the less. Daire waved his hand and in an instant all of their clothes disappeared. He was so magnificent kneeling naked in front of her. His smooth tawny skin stretched over all that muscle. Every inch of his body was perfect, from his strong arms to his rock hard abs to his well-muscled legs and everything in between. And what was in between was truly impressive. She knew he was big, she felt it before but his pants were still on and Kassie had interrupted them before she could take them off. Seeing him naked, she was a little scared. Daire laid himself gently on top of her.

“You remember my promise, I could never do anything to hurt you caria,” Daire said, sensing her concern. “We won't do anything you're not ready for.”

Daire gently kissed her.

“I'm ready,” she whispered against his lips.

Daire pulled back from the kiss. “Are you sure?”

“I trust you Daire.”

Symarah opened herself to him, wrapping her legs around his hips. He kissed her softly as he slowly entered her. She tightened her grip on his arms, bracing herself for the pain. He stayed there not moving, giving her body time to adjust to him. It was uncomfortable at first but she quickly began to enjoy the feel of him inside her. She kissed him deeply as she started to move her hips underneath him. Daire groaned softly at the feel of her flesh sliding against his, so warm and tight he almost came instantly. He slowly began moving his hips in time with hers, still not wanting to hurt her. Symarah had never imagined it could be like this, it had never felt this good before. She arched her back, pressing her body tighter against his. She could feel her body tightening. She moaned as she dug her long nails into his hips, pulling him deeper into her. Daire growled low in his throat as he buried himself inside her, thrusting deeper and harder with every stroke. He could feel her body tightening around him, the pleasure was unbearable. He couldn't hold back any longer. She threw her head back and moaned his name as they climaxed together, their bodies shaking from the intensity of it. He kissed her cheek and ran his fingers through her hair, giving her time to catch her breath. Daire hadn't been this happy in centuries, he lay there, still inside her, content and peaceful. He never imagined he would feel this way again.

“I take it you approve,” Daire said.

“Mmm, I'm definitely not complaining,” she said as she kissed him lightly.

He instantly hardened at the touch of her lips on his.

“Already?” Symarah said, astonished by how quickly he recovered.

“You know how gods are, we need constant approval,” he said, giving her his sexiest grin yet. “This could take all night.”

Symarah grabbed a hand full of his gorgeous hair and pulled him to her, kissing him hard.

CHAPTER 8

“I hereby claim this sand castle and its surrounding land and name it Kassie land, and all shall respectfully bow to Queen Kassaundra!”  Kassie said, as she raised her cup of sand high above her head.

“All hail Queen Kassaundra,” Symarah, Conner, and Duncan shouted out in unison as they raised their cups as well.

“Oh yay, I love being hailed,” Kassie cheerfully remarked.

The girls and their day walkers had taken a much needed break and spent the entire day at Lido Beach. It was such a beautiful day, perfect for hanging out at the beach. It was 87 degrees with a light breeze and no waves, not so good for the surfers but perfect for just floating peacefully in the ocean and relaxing.

“What shall we do next my Queen?” Duncan asked, his gorgeous pale blue eyes sparkling with amusement.

“The Queen is hungry,” Kassie proclaimed.

“Queen Kassaundra of the sand people has spoken, let us embark upon our quest for sustenance,” Symarah said playfully, as she headed toward the concession stand.

“So what do they serve here?” Conner asked, as they waited patiently in line.

“They will make whatever you want as long as they have the ingredients for it,” Kassie answered.

“They're famous for their lobster rolls but my personal favorite is the chili cheese dog,” Symarah offered.

“You always get the chili dog, Kassie whined, get something different for a change.”

“Why mess with perfection,” Symarah argued.

“Because if you never try anything new, who knows what amazing things you'd miss out on?”

“But it's so good,” Symarah reasoned.

“No! You are trying something new, you'll get a hamburger this time,” Kassie said.

“I hate hamburgers, you know that.”

“Lido Beach restaurant has the best hamburgers in all of Florida, maybe even the world,” Kassie stated.

“I'm not getting a hambur ….”

“The Queen has spoken, you will get a hamburger,” Kassie interrupted.

“Fine, I'll get a hamburger,” Symarah groused as they stepped up to the counter, “but I have a feeling you are about to be dethroned.”

“Hey Nick, how's it goin?” Kassie greeted the man behind the counter, choosing to ignore Symarah's idle threat.

“Pretty good, how are you ladies today?”

“Hungry,” Kassie answered.

“These are our friends Conner and Duncan,” Symarah said. “We thought we would treat them to the best food they will ever have the pleasure of tasting.”

“Awesome, what can I get you guys then?”

Conner decided to try the famous lobster roll with avocado and cilantro, Kassie finally settled on the chicken cordon bleu sandwich, and Duncan ordered the blackened chicken wrap.

“And a chili cheese dog for you?” Nick asked Symarah.

“No, I'm getting a hamburger,” Symarah said, with a quick sideways glare at Kassie.

“Trying something new finally,” he smiled his approval.

“Yup, I'll have a chili cheeseburger,” Symarah said, sticking her tongue out at Kassie.

“So a burger with just chili and cheese, how about some tortilla chips and sour cream?” he suggested.

“Sour cream on a burger?” Symarah was skeptical.

“Yeah, like a nacho burger,” he answered excitedly.

“Oooh, that sounds really good!” Symarah agreed. “I'll have that.”

“Is Gabe here?” Kassie asked Nick as he rang up their order.

“No, he just left, but he'll be here tomorrow morning.”

“Tell him we said hey,” Symarah said.

“Will do; your order will be up in a few,” he said, handing her the ticket.

They sat down at a table in the shade with a perfect view of the beach on one side and people dancing to live music on the other side.

After scarfing down their delicious meal and having a brief conversation about how amazing everything tasted, they sang and danced to the live music for a while and then headed back to the water. They spent several hours playing in the ocean and soaking up the sun while looking for shells and sand dollars. At a little before eight that evening, they all sat in their beach chairs, side by side and watched the sun set.

“It really is like paradise here,” Duncan said.

“You should move here,” Kassie smiled sheepishly.

“I just might,” Duncan said with a sly smile.

If she didn't know better, Symarah would think they were falling for each other.

“There you all are, we were starting to worry,” Jareth said.

They turned to see Daire and Jareth standing in front of them, looking very out of place.

Kassie burst out laughing.

“I'm sorry,” she apologized through gasps of uncontrollable laughter, "but who comes to the beach in an Armani suit.”

“All I have are suits,” Jareth defended himself.

“I thought we could have dinner out this evening,” Daire interrupted.

“Shouldn't we be worrying about Vaiden?” Symarah asked.

“Dacian is gathering information about the dagger; there is really nothing more we can do until we hear from him so we might as well enjoy ourselves and try to forget about Vaiden, at least for one night,” Daire answered.

Although he was dressed a bit more casual than Jareth, Daire still looked out of place in these surroundings. Still, he was gorgeous standing there in his black dress pants and collarless black button down dress shirt. The darkness of his attire stood out against the beautiful, pure white sand.

“After dinner maybe we could walk St. Armand circle and hit some of the shops,” Kassie suggested, “it's too beautiful a night to spend indoors.”

“We can't go anywhere dressed like this,” Symarah reminded them, “we're half naked and all wet, we look like drowned rats.”

Kassie was wearing a rainbow bikini top and orange boy short bottoms, but it was Symarah's suit that held Daire's attention. She wore a crimson halter style bikini top held together in the front by a small silver ring nestled between her breasts, and crimson bottoms, with the same silver rings sitting high on her slender but curvy hips. He wanted so badly to flash her back to her bedroom and bury himself deep inside her.

“There's not enough time to go home and change,” Kassie pointed out.

“I have a quicker way,” Daire said as he glanced around. Once he was certain there was no one else around, he waved his hand in front of them and in an instant they were all dry and more appropriately dressed. They all glanced around at one another approvingly, even their hair was perfect. Duncan and Conner were both wearing tan dress pants, but Conner's dress shirt was white and Duncan's was green. Kassie wore a satin dress in emerald green that matched her eyes perfectly. The dress hung just below the knee and had cap sleeves. Symarah also wore a satin dress that matched her stunning blue eyes perfectly; it hung just above the knee, with a sweetheart neckline and an empire waist. Kassie's normally curly hair was now straight and hanging loose around her shoulders, whereas Symarah's straight locks were pulled up at the crown with shiny black ringlets falling down around her delicate face.

“Cool trick, I wish I could do that,” Kassie said, admiring her new look, “I would never be late to work again.”

“Yeah right, you lived 15 steps away from your work and still never got there on time,” Symarah teased.

“Hey, I resent the accuracy of that remark,” Kassie said, as she stuck her tongue out at her friend.

“Shall we,” Duncan said, holding his arm out to Kassie.

“We shall,” she replied, taking his arm and heading for the circle.

After a nice relaxing dinner, they strolled around the circle, looking for things to decorate Kassie's new place with.

“When will they be done with your shop?” Symarah asked.

“They're saying it will be done soon.” “Hey, did you ever get your necklace back from the jewelers?” Kassie asked.

“No, I forgot all about it, why?”

Kassie pointed at the jewelry shop directly behind Symarah.

“We'll wait here while you ladies go inside,” Conner said.

As soon as the girls were out of earshot, Conner asked if they had heard from Dacian yet.

“Last I heard, he was following up on a very promising lead,” Daire answered. “He'll contact us the second he has anything concrete.”

“I don't get why he needs the cages if he has the dagger,” Duncan said.

“I'm not certain either, but one thing we've learned about Vaiden over the last few centuries is that he is very resourceful,” Jareth said.

“Not to mention ruthless,” Daire added grimly. ”Whatever he has in store, I assure you it will make our worst fears look like sunshine and lollipops.”

“I thought sunshine was one of your worst fears,” Duncan said with a sarcastic smirk.

“And I thought cursed Atlantean gods were yours,” Daire retorted with an evil grin.

“Point taken old man, no need to get your fangs in an uproar.”

“We just need to make sure this situation is resolved before Athena finds out,” Jareth reminded them.

“I thought Athena was one of the good guys,” Duncan said.

“She is on our side but she is still a goddess,” Jareth answered.

“As gods go, she is one of the more fair-minded, but all gods and goddesses have a temper, even Athena. She is the goddess of wisdom and reason, which makes her more just, but she is also the goddess of warfare and therefore somewhat quick to anger when the rules are compromised,” Daire explained.

Just then the girls returned from the jewelry shop.

“Who's quick to anger?” Kassie asked Daire.

“Where did you get that necklace?” Daire asked Symarah, ignoring Kassie's question.

“I got it in Spain, when I was on vacation.”

“Where? What was the name of the shop?” Daire demanded, taking a step toward her.

“It was called Noumeina,” Symarah answered, startled by his aggressive demeanor.

It was not like Daire to be so aggressive toward her, or anyone else, unless he was provoked. Daire took another step toward her; he placed his hand on the necklace, closed his eyes, and disappeared.

“What the hell was that about?” Kassie asked, stunned by Daire's uncharacteristic behavior.

“Yes, what the hell?” Symarah agreed.

They all turned to Jareth for an explanation; he just stood there in stunned silence, his normally dark complexion had paled considerably.

“What is it, Jareth? You look like you've just seen a ghost,” Kassie said.

“That is what I'm afraid of,” Jareth said, staring at Symarah in disbelief.
