Mike, though, looked around. “It seems to have stuck in the 1856 mode, at least in here. It might be in better repair than we think.”
“We also would have to own it,” Pete said.
Mike grinned. “I do.”
“He always does,” Ara said. “He’s owned it five times since he died.”
It was sad, Mike thought, that that sentence made sense. “But we need to do some upgrades, Ara. And you should see the world. At least the rest of the county.”
“I don’t live but thirty miles from here,” Pete said, running fingers up Ara’s arm and pressing his lips against the boy’s ear. “And I have a queen-sized bed.”
Ara shut his eyes and sank into Pete’s embrace; erotic as the image was, Mike felt the wall inside him go up again, and he tried to hide his dejection. But then just as quickly, the wall was back down as Pete looked up at Mike with wicked eyes.
“Of course, Moneybags here could probably afford to spring for a king, and then we could cozy up all three of us together with room to wiggle, even.”
Mike reached out and put a tentative hand on Pete’s hip. “You—you want me with you?”
Pete laughed. “Fuck yes, we want you with us. I can’t figure out who is attracted to who in this gig anymore, and we sure as hell can’t leave Ara to fend for himself.” His eyes darkened and his grin widened. “Besides, I didn’t get near enough time at that fat cock of yours.”
Desire pulled low and hard in Mike’s belly. He slid his fingers under the hem of Pete’s shirt, then closed his eyes as Ara’s mouth found the pulse of his throat. “There’s not room enough on this bed for this,” he whispered.
“Then we’ll go to the floor,” Pete said, his fingers sliding down Ara’s stomach, and then Mike lost track of whose hands were where, and he let go, sliding into the safe space they had made together, into the magic, into the miracle, and into the love.
