Read Their Mating Rituals [Paranormal Protection Unit 4] (Siren Publishing Classic) Online
Authors: Honor James
Is he all right?
she asked quietly.
He must be telling her or showing her something that is making her calm, love.
His breathing has calmed and he seems to be relaxing. Medical is here, too, so I will update you once I hear what they have to say.
Looking up as the doctors came through the brush, Aiden moved out of their way. Listening, he took it all in and passed it along to his mate, but when they rolled him, he cut the connection and winced. Patryk was going to be healing in Dragon form a really, really long time.
I heard that,
Lina said and put the babies in their crib, ensuring that they were both snuggled up close together, and brushed a loving hand over their heads before turning off the lights. “Let’s leave them alone. They need some rest,” she told the guard behind her. “Leave a pair of guards in here with them, but I’m going to go and find some food and wait for my bond-mate.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he said, signaling to two other guards before she walked away from him.
Looking to her as they entered the base Aiden moved right to her. “They’re taking him into surgery and then to the warehouse to heal,” he said softly.
“He will need to shift. We will take the kiddies to see him after a few days.” After he has had a moment or twelve to be able to be good, be able to hold onto his emotions enough to allow the babies around him, Talina thought to herself with a sigh.
“If he regains consciousness long enough. I was pretty out of it if you’ll recall,” he pointed out to her. “Right after the shift, I mean. I knew you were there, but for the first few days I could barely be bothered to crack an eyelid.”
“Then we will wait until he’s awake. We will give him a bit of time to heal before we do anything that might cause him any trouble. For now let’s get home so that we can begin to live as normal of a life as we can.” She wanted to go home, needed to get their babies home and just simply try to lead as normal life with their children as they could. While her brother and the danger he presented was still looming over their heads she refused to bow to it.
Looking toward the OR, he looked to her after a moment and nodded. “As you wish, darling,” he murmured quietly. “I definitely want to get the babies home and into their own bed. They need to sleep and hopefully will sleep soundly.”
Taking the hand she held out, he lifted it for a kiss to her fingers before lacing their fingers together.
Looking up at him, Lina smiled. “I love you, too, Aiden. We are all going to be all right. Somehow and someway we will all be all right and figure out how to survive all of this, love, I promise.” Somehow they would learn how to stop her brother, a man who hadn’t even been a part of the attack on the compound, dammit.
“We’ll survive anything as a unit, Talina,” he agreed softly. “Somehow we will get a handle on your brother and his plans.”
There had to be more to it than the random kidnapping and attack on the base. There had to be something more behind Nathanial’s motives because as it stood, all they currently had was confusion and death. Hugging his mate to his side Aiden rubbed her back in a slow pattern. “Tomorrow is soon enough to figure out Nathanial’s plans little mate. Tonight we need to focus on those that need us most, like Patryk and the babies.”
Nodding slowly Lina turned into his heat and wrapped her arms around his waist to hold him tight. “Take us home, Aiden,” she whispered lifting her head to look at him.

Born in the mid-seventies, Honor’s writing career only really started in the last six years, faithfully that is. While she’s always been one to scribble down a thought or phrase, she didn’t really dedicate a lot of time to her craft until recently.
Though a lover of all the written word, everything from Shakespeare to mysteries and deep into the erotic, she found her niche in the paranormal. While she will still read just about anything she can get her hands on, she has a definite preference for paranormal romance in her writing.
When she first started to write her focus was mainly poetry, which lasted about three years with many of her works remaining hidden away to this day. Honor then transitioned into short stories where she stretched her muscles and wrote whatever interested her. This is when she truly began to find her stride. But all that got put on hold when life threw her a curveball in the form of her two kids and her husband.
While both her children are in their teens and growing up faster than she’d like, she has finally found time for her writing once more. In between her family and her job in customer service, she spends her night at her computer working out the next great and fantastical story. Consummate professional by day, romantic writing fiend at night, Honor is always looking around for her next inspiration. And in the dark hours when the house is finally quiet, kids and husband asleep, she weaves together her words and imagination to create a new level of romance, sizzling hot and leaving her readers wanting more.
