Naomi smiled at Jeff. “Is there anything else you might want, sugar?”

He looked at her. “No, thanks, Naomi. I’m good.”

“And what about you, Miss Danielle?”

“I’m fine, Naomi. Thank you.”

“Well then, I’ll just leave you two kids alone.”

I said, “Thank you, Naomi.”

“Sure, Miss Danielle.” Naomi left us to ourselves, the sound of her high heels clicking down the hardwood floor in the hallway.

Sensing an opening, I reached across and placed my hand on Jeff’s arm. I was rewarded with a glance up and a grin. “Good morning, Jeff.”

His grin widened. “Good morning, Danielle.”

“How did you sleep?”

“I slept pretty good.”

“Oh, pretty good?”

He chuckled. “
Really
good.”

“Uh-huh, I’ll just
bet
you did.”

“Yeah. What about you?”

“Like a baby. Thanks to you, professor. Can I give you a hug?”

He stood up. I did too, put my arms around him and gave him a long tender hug, raking my nails over his back, with a kiss for good measure. It felt good to be back in his arms again. After a moment we sat back down.

I said, “I don’t think I’ve ever had such a great teacher.”

Jeff grinned. “Well, I only had one student.”

“You were very patient with me last night, professor.”

“You were the best student I ever had, Miss Evans.”

I giggled and blushed, fluttering my eyelashes, squeezing his hand. “Why thank you. That’s very sweet.”

“While we’re alone, there was something I wanted to ask you.”

“Why sure, baby. What is it?”

“What’s with the
professor
nickname?”

I shrugged. “It’s like I said. You were an excellent teacher. I’ll have you know I woke up with this huge grin on my face.”

“Yeah. I did, too.”

“But you know what else?”

“What?”

“I wish I could make love to you every night of the week.”

He cracked a grin. “What’s stopping you?”

Lightly, I said, “My period.”

He actually sighed in relief. “To be frankly honest with you, I was a little worried about that.”

I patted his hand. “Believe me, so was I. But my period started, right on time. Only problem now is, I have to wait until it stops before we can have any more fun. I might have to speak with my doctor about birth control pills.”

“I’ll leave that up to you.”

“It would be a small price to pay. Otherwise, yeah, you’d be waking up in my bed. It’s a big bed. Comfortable. But it gets lonely waking up by myself all the time.”

“I know the feeling.”

“I really like you, baby. I think I might even be falling in love with you.”

Jeff’s eyes went wide for a second and then crinkled in a smile. “Me, too. I really like you, too, Danielle.”

Really
?”

“Really.”

“Oh,
professor
…”

“You know, the people at my office liked to call me professor, when they know I’m going on an assignment. I used to hate it.”

I leaned forward and touched his hand. “And what about now?”

“Now? I love it.”

I kissed him. “Good.” I took a few dainty bites of strawberries and cottage cheese, and said, “So. What are you doing today?”

“I’m going to try setting up the camera in the dance studio again. I tried doing some test video in there the other day and it came out too dark. I think I need to recalibrate something.”

“Yeah, I was kind of hoping we could get that done. The dancers are coming over next month to get started on the choreography for the videos.”

“I’ll do my best to get that completed for you.”

“I’m sure you’ll do a great job.”

“Thanks.”

The silence that followed was comfortable. We ate our breakfast, then Jeff stood up, patting his mouth with a napkin.

“Leaving so soon?”

“Yeah. Have to get to work. What are you doing today?”

“I’m going to be in the recording studio all day.”

He casually tossed his napkin on the table. “Don’t forget to pencil in some time this afternoon.”

“For what?”

“Well, I was kind of hoping I could take some pictures of you ladies and have something to remember you by.”

“That’s sweet, baby. I didn’t know you were a photographer, too.”

“Well, it’s mostly just a hobby, but yeah.”

“I’d love to. I’m sure Clarice and Naomi won’t mind, either.”

“Thanks. And then you can see for yourself how a digital camera works.”

“Yeah. And I might just keep you on as my photographer.”

“Really? You’d do that?”

“Oh, yes, believe me, I would. Just to have you close again.”

“I’d love to be your exclusive photographer.”

I grinned from ear to ear. “We can talk about that after you complete this first.”

“Speaking of which, as soon as I’m done recalibrating the cameras in the dance studio, I’ll be done.”

“Really? That quickly?”

“Yeah, really. The hard part was setting up the hardware. Now it’s just a matter of calibrating the cameras. When I’ve finished with the dance studio cameras, I’ll be done.”

“Can I ask you something, Jeff?”

“Sure. What?”

“When’s the last time you’ve had a real vacation? And by that I mean time spent actually not working for a change?”

He chuckled. “I’ll admit it’s been a while.”

“I’d like to invite you to stay here a few more days after your work is finished. On me, of course.”

“I couldn’t take your money like that.”

I squeezed his forearm. “You deserve a few days off. How about it?”

“Miss Hammond might get suspicious.”

“You let me worry about her. Come on. Stay for a few more days. Please?”

“Okay, I accept your offer. On one condition.”

“And what might that be?” My voice was silky soft.

“If I can use the photo studio for a photo shoot.”

I cracked a broad grin. “You got it, baby.”

After breakfast but before I started recording, I located Clarice in the living room and said, “Hey, you doing anything right now?”

“Nope. You need me for something?”

“I was just hoping you could join me while I call Marlene Hammond.”

“Oh, yeah!” She hopped up and said, “Did Jeff agree to stay on after his work was all done?”

I grinned slyly. “Yes. Why so excited?”

Clarice blushed. “No reason.”

I squeezed her arm. “Come on.” Barefoot like me, Clarice followed me into my private office. But before I made that phone call, I said, “Make sure and close the door. Not that there’s anyone around who might overhear this, but I don’t want to take any chances, either.”

“No, we sure don’t.” The door clicked shut. She even locked it.

I picked up the phone and dialed.

“Marlene Hammond.”

“Hi, Marlene, it’s Danielle. I hope I haven’t called at a bad time.”

“Hi, honey. No, I’m just catching up on a few things.”

“Well, I just wanted to call and let you know I’m going to be needing Jeff for the whole three weeks.”

“Why, is there a problem?”

I winked at Clarice. “No, there’s no problem. In fact, he’s doing such a great job that I’m having him do some extra work for us while he’s still here.”

“Oh, well, that’s good. I’ll put him down for the whole three weeks.”

I threw a crafty look at Clarice. She nodded. “Yes, go ahead and do that.”

“I’m glad to hear he’s doing such a good job. Hold on a minute while I send an email to HR.”

“Okay.” Hold music came through. I covered the mouthpiece and said, “That went surprisingly well.”

“Yeah.”

Less than five minutes later, Marlene came back on. “Okay, Danielle, it’s all set. We’ve got him down for the entire three weeks.”

“Okay. Thanks, Marlene.” I hung up, then stood up, smiling. “Well, I think I should find Jeff and tell him the good news.”

“I think that would be a wonderful idea, Danielle.”

“I think I’ll go find him.” I left Clarice in my office and went to find Jeff in his bedroom. Not seeing him in there, I finally cracked open the connecting door to the bathroom, just in time to hear the water shut off. He was whistling cheerfully as he tried to get a towel. I said, “Let me help.”

He took a towel and wrapped it around his waist, as he was drying his hair with another one. “Thanks. Trying to wash out all the chlorine.”

“If you’d told me you were taking a shower after breakfast, I could have helped you get all nice and clean.”

He cracked a grin. “Hmm, yeah. I might never have gotten out of the shower.”

I giggled sweetly. “I wanted to let you know Marlene says you can stay the whole three weeks.”

“Oh, wow, great.”

I stepped up to him and put my arms around his neck. “I rather thought you would say that. Now I have you all to myself for the next week. I’m just not sure if I can stomach you leaving.”

Jeff dropped his other towel and slipped his arms around my waist. “I’m not sure I want to leave, either. But I have to.”

I pressed my lips against his. “If you don’t mind me asking, how much vacation time do you have saved up?”

He chuckled. “Four weeks.”

“Good. Because I would love for you to come back.”

“Me, too.”

“How about in September? That’s a good month.”

“Sounds good to me. But what about Marlene?”

“Don’t worry, I know how to handle her. If she doesn’t want to play ball, I’ll just have to hire you myself.”

“Sounds good. Expensive, but good.”

“Don’t worry, I can help with your relocation expenses.”

Jeff kissed me back. “One thing at a time.”

“Yeah. Like this towel around your waist.”

“What about the towel?”

“It’s in my way.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I need to remove it if I’m going to suck your dick.”

“Danielle…”

Mmmmmm
.

“I have to. Get. To work.”

Mmmmm
.

“Oh, God.”

Mmmmmm!

Mmmmm!…Mmmm!…Slurrrpp…Slurrrrppp…
