He brought his hands to her hips, slamming her down on him and seeing the emerald flashing at him. “I was waiting to buy the letters that I will click on to the chain to spell out my name.”

Killyama linked her hands with his, using the leverage to raise herself on his cock. “What are you waiting for …?”

Seeing her eyes widen, he turned, rolling over to thrust inside of her so deeply that it had her screaming his name out loud. Immediately, his climax took over at the bright emerald gaze staring back at him.

“I was waiting for you.”

in getting the parties started early around here,” Killyama joked to Jewell as she came down the steps from upstairs.

“Ember is just the appetizer.” She gave Killyama the first truly friendly smile since she started seeing Train. The polite smile was now gone, and so was the usual wariness.

“Where’s Train?” She looked around the room at the rapt faces of the men, not seeing him among them.

“He’s in the backyard, grilling the steaks. I see the top Sasha let you borrow and my jeans fit.”

“Yes.” The black Harley tank top had been sung, but the low neckline looked bitching on her, and the low slung jeans made her ass look like a million dollars. Suckers didn’t know it, but they wouldn’t be getting them back.

The two women walked outside together where Killyama saw Train at the grill with Razer. The other members were standing around, drinking beers and talking.

Nabbing a beer out of the cooler, she strolled up to the grill, handing it to Train.

“Thanks. It’s hot as hell next to this grill. King was supposed to do the grilling, but he started talking to Lily and never came back.”

“It’s hot as Satan’s dick out here.” Looking toward Lily, she saw her drinking a soda. “I thought Lily didn’t drink anything with caffeine in it.”

“She doesn’t. She must be celebrating because it’s Rider’s birthday.”

“Hmm, so she didn’t have anything to do with you getting Knox to arrest me?”

“Lily couldn’t lie if she had to.” He flipped the steaks, avoiding her knowing gaze.

She shook her head at his lie. They needed to have a long chat about his propensity to lie to her.

“Which bitch is supposed to come out of that cake Willa made for Rider?”

Train and Razer started laughing.

“No one. It’s not that big.”

Downsizing Rider’s cake was another lie she would have to remind him about.

She patted his ass, deciding to give Beth and Lily the pleasure of her company. She needed to get away from the heat of the grill.

She sat down with them at the small table someone had set up. Lily was talking to Beth, blushing scarlet when she saw her.

“Are you mad at me? Do you want your check back? I haven’t cashed it yet. Technically, I didn’t lie. I really did promise the clothes to Krista.”

“I’m not mad at you. I got my man, and I’m going to file a lawsuit with the city. So it’s a win, win for me.” She casted Knox a retaliatory look. He had gone to stand by the grill as soon as she had left.

“I would think twice about suing him. He is Sex Piston’s brother-in-law, and you said you were going to ask Train to make him, his replacement when he said Shade wouldn’t.” Lily frowned unhappily.

“I changed my mind when he locked me up in his jail. Besides, Train isn’t ever going to need a replacement. I’m going to keep that man alive so long he’s going to make the record books.”

“That’s sweet. You must really love him.”

“Lily, don’t get on my nerves. I’m in a good mood.”

“Come on; let’s go make our plates before I tell Knox you’re threatening me.” Lily tugged her up to her feet.

Killyama let Lily and Beth get in line first. Train slid a big T-bone on her plate when it was her turn.

“Save me a place at the picnic table.”

Killyama nodded, finding a spot where they could sit. Moon, Rider, Willa, and Lucky were on the other side of her. She waited until Train sat down before starting to eat, letting the talk flow around her.

“You’re being quiet.”

She finished the bite she was chewing. “I’m enjoying my steak,” she complimented him.

“I aim to please.” He grinned.

Despite herself, she leaned closer to him, but then straightened when she saw Willa glance at them.

“If she says we make a cute couple, I’m going to puke,” she whispered out of the corner of her mouth.

Train squeezed her thigh under the table.

Relaxing, she finished the rest of her meal.

“You ready to cut your cake, Rider?” Willa asked.

“Hell yes.”

Sasha and Jewell got up to clear the empty plates, and Beth and Lily joined them. Killyama lifted her plate then started to lift Train’s.

“I’ll do that.” Stori stopped her, taking her plate and Train’s before she could get up. “Just stay. We can handle the cleanup.”

The other women all nodded.

Hurt, Killyama tried to keep it from showing. Even Lily and Beth hadn’t wanted her help.

Feeling ostracized, she remained sitting, watching as Rider went to stand next to his cake. She was confused. At Train’s birthday, he had opened his presents before the cake.

When Rider then made no move to cut his cake, Killyama looked around, seeing the whole club had gathered at the back door.

“Aren’t we supposed to watch him open his presents first?” she asked Train curiously.

“No. Just wait. We have a surprise.”

“I don’t have to watch someone strip, do I?”

“No, babe, you don’t have to watch anyone strip,” he said softly.

“Thanks for my birthday dinner.” Rider nodded to Viper who stood up from his seat to stand by the cake.

Killyama, feeling even more confused, watched Rider go stand with the members at the door.

“Today is Rider’s birthday,” Viper stated, and Killyama turned her attention to him. “But it’s also our opportunity to thank someone who accomplished something we couldn’t have done. Killyama brought Gavin home.”

Viper’s expression wrenched her heart. Her and Stud had gone to the hospital a few times to see Gavin, but he had been too bad off to visit. Viper had explained that the withdrawals were so severe that, as soon as he could be stabilized, he would be going to a rehab center that Dr. Price had suggested.

“I will never be able to express my gratitude, or The Last Riders’, with words, because they don’t exist. It doesn’t matter that you belong to the Destructors’, because you belong to us, too. Stud and I agreed you’re just too much for one club to handle. You not only got all eight votes, you got every man and woman’s who is a Last Rider.”

The yells and cheers that came from all the members had her covering her face with her hands.

“Gavin said you deserved a dozen roses, and since Gavin can’t be here to show you his appreciation for what you did for him, we wanted to make sure you got them.”

When Train pulled her hand down, she saw Sasha place a red rose on the picnic table in front of her.

“Thank you, Killyama … for everything.”

She moved away, and Jewell placed another one down.

“Thank you.” Jewell wiped her tears as she moved away.

One after another, the women laid red roses down in front of her.

After Lily laid her red rose down, she came around the table to lean down to hug her. “Thank you, Killyama.”

Beth then followed her sister’s example, and it was everything Killyama could do to maintain her composure.

She was relieved when the women stopped passing by her, almost ready to break.

“I’m the birthday boy, so I get to go first.” Rider laid a pink rose on the growing pile of red roses. “I bought my first collector Harley motorcycle for myself on my twenty-sixth birthday. I don’t want it. It’s yours.” He laid a keyring down in front of her. “Thank you, Killyama.”

Rider’s façade as a ladies’ man was missing. What she saw instead was heart-felt gratitude. She bit her lip to keep it from trembling.

Shade came next. At first, he didn’t speak as he laid down the pink flower. When he did, Killyama placed her hand over Train’s on her lap, gripping it tightly.

He laid a pistol case down on the table. “I got this gun from my father for my sixteenth birthday. I was saving it for John. I don’t want it anymore. You can have it.”

Lucky went next, setting down a Bible, a bottle of tequila, and a pink rose. “My mother bought me this Bible for my fifteenth birthday. I carried it with me every day when I was in the service. I don’t want it anymore. The tequila, I got for my last birthday. I don’t want it, either. May God bless you, Killyama. Thank you.”

She blinked back the tears that were gathering in the corners of her eyes.

Razer went next, laying down another pink rose. “Beth bought me a booklet of gift certificates for a year of meals at King’s restaurant. I don’t want it anymore. Thank you.”

Knox laid down a pink rose and a DVD collection of
Zombie Apocalypse
. “When I saw The Last Riders belt buckle that Train got for his birthday, I wanted one, too, so Diamond ordered one for me. She gave it to me as an early birthday present, and we already watched the DVDs. I really don’t want them and the buckle was too small. She’s going to buy me another one, so I don’t want it anymore. It’s yours. And anytime you get tired of bounty hunting, let me know. I’ll hire you as a deputy. Thank you.”

Cash laid down his pink rose. “My grandfather gave me this fishing pole for my birthday,” he said as he looked over the pole still in his hands. “It was the last birthday I was able to celebrate with him. It’s yours. I don’t want it anymore. Thank you, Killyama.”

As Cash walked away, giving the fishing pole one last look where he had laid it in front of her, the tears started slipping down her cheeks.

Viper was next, but Train turned to her. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a necklace and placed it around her neck. “My mother wore this necklace every day of her life. She gave it to me for my birthday, the day before I entered the service, so I could keep a part of her while I was overseas. I don’t want it anymore. It’s yours.” The silver cross necklace sat snuggly in the curve of her throat. “Thank you, Killyama.”

Viper then laid down three pink roses. “One is from Train, one is from Gavin, and the last one is from me.” He looked up at the clubhouse as he told her, “Gavin and I bought this house when he decided this was where he wanted to build the factory. We split the property into different sections, giving some of the members a part of the land surrounding the club. Last year, I bought some land where I built my house.”

Viper laid down an envelope. “It’s not my birthday, but I asked Winter for her permission if I could gift it to you. She agreed. It’s on the other side of my house. We had planned to give it to Aisha when she grew up, but I’ve change my mind. We don’t want it anymore. It’s yours. I hope someday you and Train will build your home there.”

He continued, starting to look choked up, “It’s because of you that Winter and our daughter won’t have just my memories and photographs of Gavin. He’ll be here with us. Thank you, Killyama.” Viper’s voice broke. “Thank you.”

He strode away to where Winter was waiting with her arms open. Killyama had to look away when he buried his face in her hair.

She stared down at the massive pile of roses and gifts, whispering, “They don’t hate me.”

“No, they don’t hate you. They love you.”

“I won’t go that far,” she scoffed, unsuccessfully trying to relieve the emotional atmosphere. “But at least I don’t have to worry about them cutting my brake lines. I can’t keep these presents, though.” She cried harder. “Well, except for the tequila … and maybe Shade’s gun. John wouldn’t have liked it, anyway. He’s like Lily.”

“Killyama, you don’t have to give them back. We gave them to you to show you how much it means to us that we have Gavin back.”

She used a napkin to wipe her tears away. “If you’re sure, I can use the fishing pole when I go fishing with you and the guys.”

Train’s smile slipped. “The bothers don’t let women go with us on our fishing trips, but you and I can go.”

“Or the women can go on our own fishing trip, and you can stay behind.”

“Okay, I think the men can live with that.”

Mollified, she pushed the DVR collection to the side. “I can re-gift that to Sex Piston. Her birthday is next month.”

Willa brought them both a slice of the cake. “I made extra this time. The top three layers are for you to share with the Destructors. I’ll pack them up for you before I go to bed. They’ll be in the refrigerator for when you leave tomorrow.”

“Thank you, Willa.”

She smiled, leaving to pass the cake out to the others.

Train helped her pack the flowers and the presents inside the kitchen. They found a couple of small vases, but they had to put a few in large glasses. The loud music from clubroom had the flowers shaking on their stems.

“I asked Viper if we could have Shade’s old room, and he said yes. You want me to take you downstairs to show you?”

“Yes. I hope the bed is bigger than the one in your room.”

“You’re not going to have worry about that.” Train grinned, going to a door on the other side of the table.

They were about to go down the steps when Moon came in from the backyard.

“Train, you busy?”

“Depends on what you need?”

“I need some help packing Rider’s cake inside.”

Train turned toward Killyama. “Go ahead downstairs. I’ll be right behind you. Have a look around.”

She went down the steps, seeing a stripper pole when she was halfway down. Crossing her arms as she stalked toward it, she walked around it. Then, putting out a hand, she tried to shake it.

“Fuckers, the gazebo outside is about to fall down, but a cannon wouldn’t budge that pole.”

She took deep breathes, trying to regulate her breathing the way Hammer had taught her. How many bitches’ asses had Train watched twirl on it? Little Miss Innocent Lily and Beth hadn’t mentioned it was there. Still waters run tit deep in this den.

She looked around, thinking how the exercise equipment would come in handy to work off all the weight she was going to gain at King’s restaurant. Then she saw the door Train mentioned. Going through it, she opened the first door she came to, seeing a Jacuzzi.

“Now we’re talking.” The basement was made for Sex Piston. The bitch was going to have a fit when she told her about it.

Going back into the hallway, she found a bathroom. Taking advantage of the opportunity, she used it and washed her hands, surprised Train hadn’t called out to her by now. She had told him that cake was big. Men always had to find out the hard way. Probably had to get more than two men to help.
