Luka kept diligently fingering Alek’s dick but it was futile so Alek pulled Luka’s hand out of his pants and grabbed him instead. He quickly discovered how hard Luka was and finally figured out what was going on. His little brother was all wound up over his date with a severe case of blue balls.

Breaking the kiss with a growl, Alek pushed Luka down sideways on the couch and twisted his own body around to face him. Without ceremony, he yanked down the front of Luka’s pants. His cock sprung free. Alek grabbed it by the base and lowered his mouth down onto Luka.

Luka moaned with exaggerated relief, palming the back of Alek’s head as it bobbed in his lap.

At the table, Presley was dumbstruck, gawking at his roommates without shame. A piece of steak fell from Carter’s lips as he gaped. Alek watched them both with amusement from the corner of his eye. It said a lot, in Alek’s opinion, that neither Carter nor Presley left the room or exclaimed protests. He never asked for their approval and those moments of public displays of intimacy were the brothers’ way of challenging their roommates, daring them to voice their outrage if they truly felt any at all. Plus, it was their home. If Presley and Carter didn’t want them there, they would have said so years ago.

Though society marked twin incest as taboo, literature and mythology were littered with it, from the Bible to modern day television shows. There had been studies done on genetic sexual attraction, and how people tended to rank faces similar to their own as more attractive or trustworthy. They preferred mates with similar interests and traits to their own. All of these factors, compounded with the mysterious closeness that was always there between twins, naturally opened doors the world liked to pretend were tightly shut.

“Damn,” Presley cursed, standing to get a better view. His chair almost toppled over as it got shoved back.

“Sit down,” Carter hissed at him.

“Nuh-uh,” Presley mumbled, raising his phone, probably intending to record the action for posterity.

Carter did a double take before trying to grab the thing from Presley’s hand. “Gimme that. What’s the matter with you? Don’t encourage them.”

It didn’t take long for Luka to come. He was really wound up and, thanks to experience—as well as his familiarity with Luka’s body, a mirror of his own—Alek knew just how to finish him off quick and easy. Just the right amount of suction and speed, pressure by rubbing his tongue just so, and he pushed all of Luka’s buttons.

Luka’s brow and nose scrunched up. His mouth fell open and he bucked up into Alek’s mouth, crying out in a building crescendo. He made a choked-off, hard grunt, thrusting one last time before becoming instantly boneless on the couch, letting go of Alek’s head and just lying there as Alek sucked him soft.

Pulling off with a wet, obscene slurp, Alek wiped his chin. He noticed Luka’s peaceful, sated expression and, seeing his work was done, Alek helpfully tucked him back into his pants. Sparing his other roommates a brief, disinterested glance, Alek grabbed his beer and moved to stand. As Alek leveraged himself off the seat and straightened, Luka’s left hand swung around, directing a firm, stinging slap to the thickest part of Alek’s ass.

“Good job!” Luka praised Alek deliriously, slurring a little.

“Yep,” Alek agreed, bowing slightly to his captive audience, finishing his drink and swishing the beer around his mouth to wash down the remnants of Luka’s come. The empty bottle was tossed into the bin as Alek shuffled tiredly through the door toward the stairs.

Presley, still standing dumbly by the table, watched Alek until he was gone from sight. Then his gaze slid right back to Luka. Carter snorted, chuckling, “Good job,” shaking his head and taking a last bite of food.

Right at that moment, Jamie knocked twice on the back door. Without waiting for an answer, he pushed the door open and stuck his head in. “Hey, Raed, you ’bout ready to go? Wanna get there by midnight. Raed?” He looked around, saw Luka sprawled on the couch and called happily, “Oh, hey, Luka.”

“’Sup, Jamie,” Luka mumbled with the same loud, dazed enthusiasm, raising an arm and throwing him a peace sign without looking up or moving a muscle.

“Presley. How’s it goin?” Jamie said, saluting the statuesque black man standing for no apparent reason with a horrified yet enchanted expression. “Raed. Hey, Raed!”

“Huh?” Carter muttered finally, gradually returning to his senses.

“Let’s go!” Jamie shouted. “Grab your guitar. Move it!”

“Sure,” Carter grunted, scooping up his plate and high-tailing it out of there before any more weird shit could happen.

When they were gone, and it was just Presley and Luka, Presley said sternly to his friend, “I am truly ashamed of you, man.” His voice wavered slightly.

“Oh, me too,” Luka agreed, flapping a hand at him. “Totally. I feel really, um,” he yawned. “Really guilty about that.” He bowed his back to stretch out a kink in it and rubbed a hand down over his shorts, adjusting himself through the material. “That was...
mm
... terrible. From now on,
pfft
! Just say no to awesome, random blowjobs.” His hand sliced through the air, definitively. “Done.” After a moment, he added, “You get any of that on the phone?”

“Yeah. Don’t tell Carter,” Presley murmured, tucking it into his pocket and walking away.

“Cool. Send it to me,” Luka shouted after him, settling into the cushions and giving in to the pull of sleep.

Chapter 7
Wake Up Call

Evan poked at the bizarre looking but fantastic smelling food on his plate and tried to become invisible through the sheer force of will.

It didn’t work. Brennan was still standing there, mostly naked, wearing only a ridiculously tiny pair of shorts that were probably what he exercised and did yoga in when he wasn’t doing it buck-naked.

And please, God, let me not imagine that,
Evan prayed.

Brennan was leaning back with his hands braced on the countertop’s edge beside his slim hips. One foot was propped against the cabinet under the sink, and he was watching Evan like he was a newly discovered, exotic species or something. Evan just hoped Brennan wasn’t expecting to bond over their shared love of cock since, hey, it appeared they had that in common, too.

“If you have something you need to do or whatever, don’t let me keep you,” Evan muttered, taking a bite.

“What could I possibly have to do?” Brennan asked with a smirk.

“Watch TV? Put some damn clothes on? I don’t know.”

“How is it?” Brennan asked, nodding at Evan’s plate.

Evan grunted. “Edible. Kinda wish you’d stop staring at me, though.”

Evan tried to keep his eyes trained on his plate, because each time his gaze drifted upward it caught right on the fine dusting of golden peach fuzz covering Brennan’s bare right hipbone and the shallow dip just inside the protrusion and a sick part of Evan, some facet of his libido he didn’t know was so incredibly perverted, really couldn’t stop wanting to lick
right there
and feel that soft, fine hair against his lips.

It’s your brother. He’s your goddamned brother, Evan. Stop it. Now.

Trouble was, brother was just a word to Evan, not a reality or a feeling. It was a label. It meant next to nothing without any history there to back it up.

Brennan said softly, “How long have you known?”

“That I’m queer? A long time. But I’d appreciate it if you didn’t tell anyone. Ever.”

“Why? It’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

“Oh, here we go,” Evan groaned, dropping his fork and rubbing both hands over his face.

It seemed like because he was trying so hard not to think of Brennan in sexual ways, his brain was providing filthy thoughts and fantasies much more readily. It was similar to how, if someone told you not to think of an elephant, an elephant was the first thing you thought of.

The dirtier his thoughts got, the more clipped and angry his tone became. Unable to make sense of his reactions, his feelings or what the hell was going on with him, Evan hid behind his fingers and thought,
Bet he has more of that peach fuzz trailing down his ass crack. Bet if he turned around, you could see some of it, catching the light right between those fucking dimples and leading down under those tight little black shorts and what would he taste like if I licked there, just buried my face between his butt cheeks and just—

He cut off the thread of the thought cleanly and said, “Spare me the pep talk, please.”

Evan realized he had lost his appetite—for food, anyway.

“Okay. No problem. Change of subject, then. Why don’t you wear glasses anymore? Do you have contacts? I didn’t see them on your eyes, but—”

No
, okay?” Evan replied too abruptly, too defensively. “I don’t have contacts. I had laser eye surgery when I was fourteen.”

“Wow. Really? You just don’t seem like the type to—”

Evan cut him off. “I don’t want to talk about it. I really don’t. It’s a long story. But hey, when you meet Jimmy, feel free to ask him. I’m sure he’ll tell you anyway sooner or later, whether I like it or not.”

He stood and brought his plate to the sink. “Thanks for the food. I’m going to bed.”

For a few seconds they were very close to each other, since Brennan was leaning by the sink and Evan reached past him to drop his dishes there. Evan’s nose filled with the warm, clean, fresh scent of Brennan’s skin and he ground his teeth together, hating himself for liking it. But the downward twist of the corners of Brennan’s lips and his hunched posture conveyed crystal-clearly Evan had said something wrong, or maybe had just been too cold and too damn mean. Guilt softened him, so he asked, “You need anything before I go? I don’t know if I’ll see you in the morning, since, you know, I leave early when you’re probably, um.... Anyway. Did you make out all right today?”

“Yeah. Fine. I went to a gym. Kept me busy.”

“Good. Well, ’night then.”

“’Night,” Brennan murmured.

Brennan stared up at the light hanging from the ceiling as Evan’s footsteps padded softly away toward his room. Biting his tongue, Brennan fought hard against the tears that were always there now. Not getting along with Evan at all was just too disappointing and painful a reality when Brennan had been hoping so desperately for a kind, welcoming presence in his new life. There was so much Maggie couldn’t understand about what Brennan went through in his adolescence, things Brennan’s friends and boyfriends couldn’t relate to either—being an only child of divorced parents, being gay and living every day with that profound feeling of wanting more of things he may never have, not ever. Everything that made Brennan feel like a freak were the same things he had in common with Evan, and he didn’t understand why Evan couldn’t see that too. Everything that made Brennan hopeful he’d found a kindred spirit at last after searching for one for the entire span of his life, were the things Evan ran from, unwilling to face them let alone talk about them or confide in Brennan. Together now, it was possible they could begin to make those feelings of being abandoned lessen with each other’s companionship. Brennan could have someone to talk to about losing Maggie, of the struggle to grow up without a large support system to rely on, and learning to depend on one’s self to survive. But Evan wouldn’t talk. Evan wouldn’t let him in.

Brennan missed his mom so profoundly, it was often suffocating. The dad he never knew was somewhere far away, trying to help somehow despite the distance. The brother he’d been so excited to meet was a sullen, closed-off, repressed jerk. Knowing he was just going to go hide in his room some more, but not quite ready to give in to such a childish reaction just yet, Brennan hand-washed Evan’s dishes and tried to stay positive. The thing standing out the most to him was Luka—how nice and funny he was at the gym, not to mention sexy, gorgeous, tall and distracting in all the best ways.

Maybe
, Brennan thought,
being around Evan makes me feel weak and pathetic just because of how gruff and strong Evan is on the surface. On the inside, though, I’m guessing it’s a whole different story.

Determined to learn more, Brennan gathered his strength and tried to overcome the temptations of self-pity. He would do anything to get closer to Evan, to become part of his life in any way Evan would permit. Maybe expecting to feel like brothers was too much to hope for. Even if Brennan had to settle for something else, he would take it in an instant, if only he could figure out a way to get Evan to let him in.
