Clay was a very imposing figure. Which was good for a security guy, she supposed. Stella assured her that he would never hurt her, unless she threatened the security and defense of the men’s club property. Sabrina had promptly promised not to for any reason.

The land was divided into two distinct pieces of property. Security on the northern acreage was very strict. It would probably be easier to barge through the White House front doors and demand an appointment with the president in the Oval Office. Very unlikely.

The event she and Stella were planning for was the DRMC annual get-together. It would be held on the property directly to the south of the DRMC land.

The sizeable ranch was formerly operated by Calista Warren. The land had been in her family for generations. But Callie had gotten married and moved overseas a while back. The DRMC leased her land. Additionally, Clay
looked out
for her property while she was away, but the men’s club also used the land that bordered the DRMC property for parties and special events. Like the one she and Stella were planning right now.

Sabrina’s theory, and Stella’s, too, was that Clay liked keeping people off of the DRMC main property. The more time they spent on the southern property, the better Clay liked it.

Still, he wanted the security on Callie’s Ranch to be as tight as on the main property. A more difficult endeavor, as many of the performers for the minirodeo were not members of their club and therefore not already screened through Clay’s intensive background checks. She knew about that because she’d gone through it herself to be a part of the annual Stadium events.

Sabrina had dreamed of being a part of this lifestyle since she learned about its existence. She’d been to previous preparty Stadium events where the available pairs of men selected women to spend time with in sexual abandon and all the pleasures the club had to offer.

Sabrina hadn’t been selected previously. And she was okay with that. The truth was, she hadn’t found any two men she lusted after sufficiently to warrant a weekend of wild, wicked pleasure. She, in fact, lusted after two men who were
not
a part of the DRMC or their unbridled lifestyle. At least not yet. But she was hopeful. Her desire for a different sort of lifestyle was the very reason she
had
a plan.

It was a pipe dream to expect either of these two hard-nosed, dyed-in-the-wool cowboys would ever consent to share her, but she wanted to give it a try.

All they could say was no. Although after sharing a lust-fueled, passionate kiss with each of them, she was already letting her imagination run away with her licentious emotions.

She wanted them. Both of them. Together at the same time.

To that end, she planned to ask Clay for advice on her quest.

Perhaps he could offer her sage guidance on how to best accomplish her ultimate goals. Or he’d frown, growl, and throw her out as a security risk, unworthy of further regard. She smiled at the hopefully unrealistic thought.

Sabrina turned off the highway and onto the short paved road leading to the heavily armed guard shack outside the DRMC property.

She showed the guard her ID. Frowning, the burly guy made a phone call after telling her to wait.

After a few minutes wondering if she’d be worthy of entrance, the gate slid open slowly and she was directed to park her vehicle in the designated spot right inside the perimeter. The guard told her that Clay would come and collect her and take her to the meeting place. She gave him a smile, which he did not return. He merely waved her though without expression.

Sabrina pulled forward past the threshold of the property line and did exactly what the guard had told her to do. She suspected any deviation from his specific directions would result in dangerous consequences.

Clay arrived seconds later in a large, black SUV as she stepped from her vehicle.

He opened the passenger door for her from inside and smiled faintly when she climbed in.

“Thanks for coming to get me. I would have been okay to drive myself.”

He shook his head. “I don’t like people wandering around the property. Easy for folks to get lost in a place this large. Plus, my security building is well hidden.”

“Would you like me to wear a blindfold?” she asked jokingly. “Or maybe a hood like in the movies.”

The look he returned was one of wide-eyed anticipation. Like he’d
love
to blindfold her or whip out a burlap sack and hide her head for the duration of the trip, but social dictates wouldn’t allow it for this harmless situation. Hopefully.

“No. I guess not.” He didn’t sound convincing.

She caught a glimmer of a smile before she put her focus out the front windshield and the surrounding woods.

“Can I ask you something?” Sabrina asked before she lost her nerve.

“I suppose so,” he said guardedly.

“As you know, I’ve been to a preparty event for the annual Stadium gathering a time or two.”

“Yes.” The suspicious tone hadn’t left his voice.

“I was wondering. If I wanted to participate in this lifestyle, but the two men I found interesting enough to share were
not
already in the club, how could they become members?”

Clay cleared his throat and pondered her question for several seconds before responding, “Do these two men already want to become members?”

“Well, not yet. I haven’t even asked them if they’re interested in sharing a woman. But I’m ever hopeful.”

His suddenly amused expression caught her off guard. She thought he might laugh out loud.

“I don’t know what you find so amusing.” Sabrina crossed her arms in mock anger, but she could see his point. Sometimes being proactive was a big, fat waste of time.

His expression sobered a bit, but he still had a jovial tone when he said, “The procedure varies, but the most typical way into the DRMC is to be sponsored by a set of members already established in the club. And even that isn’t a sure thing.”

“I see.”

“I appreciate your question, and I don’t mean to make fun. You just took me off guard. I was expecting you to say something else.”

“Like what?”

He shrugged. “Like something about my awesome security forces.”

She nodded. “Well, they
are
awesome.”

“Damn straight.”

They rode in silence for another few seconds before he asked, “Who are the two guys you have in mind?”

“Doesn’t matter if they ultimately aren’t interested in sharing me.”

He lifted one buff shoulder. “I could run a check on their names and let you know if I’d welcome them or refuse them access.”

Sabrina turned her entire torso to face him. He gave her an amused sidelong glance, but then fixed his gaze back on the road. “What?”

“But if you refused to welcome them, then I’d be a sad panda.”

Then he did laugh out loud. A rich, baritone, gut-busting laugh the sound of which made her smile, too. “I’d hate for that to happen.”

“So would I.”

They rode in silence again.

She acquiesced. “Fine. I’ll
think
about giving you the names.”

“Okay.” He looked over at her and smiled.

“What?”

“I might just figure out who you lust after all on my own. I’m pretty good at hunting down information on people.”

“I’ll just bet you are.” She was confident he’d never figure her secret out, so she smiled. “Go ahead, though. Try and figure it out if you want to. I don’t believe you’ll be able to discover who they are.”

He sent a gaze of disbelief her way. “A challenge? Really? Do you know who I am?”

Sabrina turned and stared deeply into his luscious, chocolate-brown eyes. “Yes. You’re the smokin’ hot head of security for the DRMC.”

He did a double take at her answer. Eventually he said, “Thank you.” He looked over at her again and added, “Am I one of the men you’re after?”

She only gave him an exaggerated shrug. “Guess you’ll have to figure that out for yourself, Mr. Overconfident Security Guy.”

He grinned, showing off his beautiful, straight, white teeth and turned the large vehicle suddenly onto a short road leading seemingly nowhere. She hoped she wasn’t about to be smothered and buried in the woods for her flippant attitude. No one would ever find her.

The building they came upon was cleverly wedged into the scenery. He was right. This building would have been very difficult for her to find on her own. Even after having him drive here, she wasn’t sure she would have been able to get here herself, or back to the guard shack again without a carefully drawn map. Maybe not even then. She relaxed a notch when he parked in front of a door painted and camouflaged to mimic the surrounding terrain.

Sabrina exited the large vehicle. “Boy, you really take security seriously, don’t you?”

“I do.” He rounded the front grill of his vehicle and headed to the door.

She followed close behind him. “Is Stella meeting us here?”

Over one muscled shoulder he said, “Yep. She’s already inside.”

Sabrina nodded. “Okay.” Trailing behind Clay was not a chore. Well over six-and-a-half feet tall, by her estimation, he’d likely put any number of women’s hearts into pitter-patter mode. But Sabrina had her eyes firmly on two other men. A couple of retired cowboys she hoped would be willing to try things her way in the bedroom.

Clay unlocked the door and held it open for her. She paused in front of him before crossing the threshold and said, “Tell you what, I’ll give you one clue to help you on your search to discover the two men I find interesting.”

A lazy smile shaped his lips. “Do tell.”

She pushed a finger into the center of his firm, muscular chest. “As much as I like you and although I find you very attractive, y
ou
are not one of the men I’m after.”

His gaze narrowed and he frowned. “Crap. Now I’m a sad panda.”

* * * *

Drew revved the engine of his truck, turned out onto Ryder Township’s main stretch of road, and headed to the shooting range. His mind was occupied with thoughts of Sabrina, Parker, and the coming competition.

Several days had gone by since Drew had met with Sabrina. They’d communicated by e-mail and a few texts. But he hadn’t asked about Parker or his unwelcome addition to the list of contenders for the coming match.

Not to mention that even thinking about Parker made Drew remember the very unsatisfied attitude he’d had after their last conversation. He couldn’t tell if Parker was truly serious or not about the kiss with Sabrina or his feelings. But Drew’s gut told him that they were about to vie for Sabrina’s affections.

He decided quickly that failure on his part was not an option.

Tomorrow he’d have to be on top of his game in order to achieve success. If Parker wasn’t going to back down, Drew would have to step up his game. Even if his former rival didn’t want Sabrina, he was enough of a Type-A competitor that it wouldn’t matter. His aggressive spirit made him the type who just wanted to win. All the time. No matter the reward. However, this time Sabrina was the ultimate prize. And Drew wanted her.

He desired Sabrina with every breath he took. He wasn’t going to let her slip though his fingers without fighting for her. Less than a week had passed since he’d received that flyer. The resulting phone call had put him in a strange mood. On the one hand, he wanted Sabrina. On the other hand, he wasn’t as jealous of Parker also wanting her as he thought he’d be. Not even after several days of contemplation and picturing the two of them kissing. In fact, it still turned him on. What was
that
about? He’d never given voice to his deepest desires even in his own head until very recently.

He’d done a little research regarding the DRMC after agreeing to the competition for Sabrina. In Drew’s mind, men’s clubs usually remained very private because they all held regular parties with naked women dancing on tables or sliding around brass poles. Although, that wasn’t the pervasive feeling he’d gotten about
this
men’s club. Secretive, upscale, and very private, the DRMC had been in the Ryder area for several years.

They’d been responsible for many progressive and community-oriented projects benefiting the city as a whole.

So what if they liked naked women, jiggling about on tables and around poles.
Who didn’t?
He’d be lying if the DRMC didn’t intrigue him just a bit. He didn’t know exactly what went on there. So perhaps during the competition he’d find out. Maybe he’d consider trying to join in their club. He liked watching naked women dancing on tables or around brass poles as much as the next guy. But he really liked Sabrina more. Simply picturing what Sabrina might look like naked either on a table or wrapped around a pole made his cock ache.

He was so occupied, he almost missed his turn. Maneuvering carefully into a space near the front door, Drew got out of his truck and carried his favorite rifle inside the target range at the gun club he belonged to. He wanted to get some extra practice in so he’d be confident in the coming challenge.
