“That sounds perfect,” Sophia said.

Micah had won big in the fight against Fromer, and his bank account reflected it. It had paid to bet on the underdog, which Luke had done for them, knowing that Micah would be the winner. Gisele could travel with Micah now, when he followed the fight circuit.

“So you’ll be satisfied with amateur boxing?” Gisele said, and sipped wine out of a plastic airline cup.

“Fighting is fighting.” Micah touched her cheek. “After my stint in the underground circuit, it will be good to have a few rules…like
no cheating
.”

Gisele laughed. “I’m sure looking forward to these next few weeks alone. And soaking up some sun on the beach sounds wonderful.”

“Luke will be waiting when we get back, and his fingers will be itching to place some bets. There are plenty of East Coast fights to enter, and Luke will continue to handle the business side of things,” Micah said. “It will be good when we have our own apartment, plus we’ll still have your condo in Vegas, for when I have fights out there.”

“Abby has requested to transfer to Cirque du Soleil in New York, so she can be with Luke. I’ll get to see her more often.” Gisele smiled. “I think Luke and Abby are sweet together.”

Micah winked. “Don’t let
him
hear you say that.”

The next night, at the Marriott on the beach of Waikiki, they went out to the terrace and opened a bottle of wine. Gisele expected the sunset to be spectacular, and she wasn’t disappointed. As she watched, the sky flared bright orange and yellow, then dimmed to a lovely purple. Against the rich backdrop, the city lights gleamed like gold, and the ocean turned a deeper blue.

“It’s so beautiful…beyond words.” Gisele turned to look at Micah. It was warm and humid, so he was shirtless. She admired his tattoo, and had the urge to touch it.

Micah looked so handsome under the soft light that illuminated the terrace. Gisele sat on his lap and he pulled her close for a kiss. She touched the blue-ink lines of the tattoo that adorned his muscled body. It covered his left shoulder and extended down his arm. He’d had it done some weeks ago, just for her.

“The ink looks good on you,” she said, admiring the artful creation. “It’s sexy.”

“I should have done it sooner, then.”

The tattoo was the artist’s depiction of the goddess of love. It was Micah’s unique way of making a commitment. “This is so much better than giving me a ring.”

“You think so?”

“Yes…a ring can be removed…a tattoo not so easily.”

“That’s because my love for you is forever.” Micah’s eyes gleamed. “Like the tattoo, it’s a part of me now.”

Gisele kissed Micah’s soft lips, and he sighed against her. “Tonight…I’m going to show you how deeply I care for you.”

“I love you,” Gisele said, raking her hand through his silky hair.

Micah grinned. “I love you more.” Then he frowned. “Do you think two thrill-seekers like us can find happiness together?”

“You’re all the excitement I need.” Gisele looked into his beautiful brown eyes. “And probably more than I can handle.”

“We’ll see about that.” Micah swept her into his arms, then stood up to head for the bedroom. He held her in his arms and kissed her again, igniting the passion between them. Gisele loved the thrill of being with Micah. He was the only man for her, and being together was all she wanted.
