“A monster, my Lord.”

He wasn’t going to disillusion her and allowed his fangs to descend. His eyes followed, their crimson highlights took hold. The skin stretched across his cheeks and his body became harder and colder. He watched her eyes widen and he saw the fear envelope her face. Oh, he was a monster and tonight he’d fuck her and in full vampire persona.

“Do I frighten you?” he asked as his cold fingers touched her face.

“Yes, and no,” she said and he could see her body shiver. He bent his head to hers and took her lips in a gentle kiss.

“My God,” she whispered.

“I have been called worse,” he teased. He kissed her again, this time letting his tongue snake out across her lips. She opened her mouth and let his tongue enter meeting it in perfect harmony. He picked her up and carried her to his bed. They fell into the soft covers and satin pillows. The ritual had begun.

His large strong body gently covered hers. His cold hard hands cupped her face and his crimson eyes stared into her pale blue ones. He wanted to trance her, but he held back letting her see him, really see him. Her soft warm hands came over the hard demonic planes of his face then toward his mouth. She ran a finger over his fangs then used her tongue to lick each large protrusion. He heard her catch her breath as she touched him. Her curious eyes studied him then she kissed his sharp cheekbones softly.

“It’s your eyes, they’re demonic, but perhaps the man behind them isn’t. I do believe I need to look at the man behind the mask,” she said touching her lips to his.

He carefully removed her clothing, running his hands over her body with each piece he discarded. When she lay naked before him, he used his tongue to arouse her and he began at her mouth then moved to her neck where he hesitated. His bite would come, but now wasn’t the time. His cool hands reveled at the heat her body threw off. His excitement grew, an angel or not at the moment the young woman had him as hard as a rock. Perhaps it was her seemingly innocent demeanor and her angelic look. Or even his evil presence coming to the surface. But his need to taste her was great. He had to get right down to business, and that meant getting between her legs and letting his tongue do all the work.

She gasped as his body settled between her legs and he lifted her thighs over his shoulders. Instinctively, her hands grabbed at his hair pushing him even closer to her wet heat. His thirst was at an all-time high as he licked her pussy. His one objective was her impending orgasm, and she’d have an orgasm that was a certainty. He sucked in her clit, so swollen as he tenderly flicked it sucking greedily.

“Oh, my, oh please,” she moaned as her hands grabbed onto his full thick hair. She began to thrust her hips at his face. Now her needs were coming to the surface. He smiled, his lips kissing the outer rim of her pussy. Her nails dug into his scalp and his cock jerked uncontrollably from the small erotic pain.
“Fuck,” she screamed as liquid gushed from her pussy wetting his face. Her cunt contracted and now Royce let his sharp fangs puncture her swollen clit. As he did, her screams became louder.

“Ahh,” she screamed. “Ahh, oh my God!” again she screamed her body bucking and thrashing again his face. He grabbed the cheeks of her ass and drank. So sweet, so delicious, his mind screamed. He was careful to taste only a few ounces of her blood.

He lifted his head to let her see her blood on his lips. Her breast rose up and down with the heaviness of her breathing. He came over her body, his vampire persona abated leaving him human looking. His still hard cock stopped at her mound. He spread her legs and slipped his cock inside her.

“Oh, fuck,” she whispered.

“Dahlia, sweet Dahlia, I’d fuck you until you scream again in pleasure,” he said kissing each eyelid.

“My evil Lord, take me and fuck me into oblivion,” she said.

“I can you know fuck you into oblivion,” he said smiling.

She smiled back and took his lips in a tender kiss. Then it deepened and they were ravishing each other’s mouth. The hunger there amazed them both. He tried not to rush, as his cock slid in and out of her. Each stroke he took was long as he buried himself deep within her. Her pelvis moved with him meeting each one of his calculated thrusts.

He was careful not to apply his whole body weight on her her frail condition concerned him. He was sure she tried to punish herself for her bad decision-making and her fall from grace. She’d need to regain her strength and body mass before he offered her immortality. Until then he’d fuck her, fill her with his cum and take a small amount of blood from her. And like tonight, he’d show her nirvana. He was aware she had nowhere else to go and few understood who and what she was.

He sped up his strokes and began to plunge deep. She wrapped her arms around his neck and shoulders. “Oh, my Lord, it’s happening again, this need this amazing pleasure building up inside me. It must be released, oh, fuck, vampire now!” she screamed with his last deep erotic intrusion.

Her body pulsed around him and he emptied his hot replenishing seed within her. At the precise moment of his ejaculation, he bit down on her neck and her throbbing carotid artery. Here he took longer and an ounce more of her rich blood. The blood of angels, sweet, thick and salty, like nothing he’d ever tasted. He wanted that for eternity. It would be her decision one he’d make sure was in his favor

Chapter Ten

Back to present day

After three weeks with him, Dahlia became an immortal. After waiting for her transition to be completed, Royce made a decision never to turn another human. And he hadn’t for centuries. His three beauties were more than enough to keep him busy, until Beth Ann. She’d yet to meet his three musketeers. He was glad they were too busy with their own lives. The twenty-first century brought with it a certain independence for all creatures that lived on the outskirts of humanity. Royce had finally found a niche, one he fit into, he loved being a cop. So much was out in the open and humans had accepted what was once myth as reality with vigor. He shook his head the Mayor was a friggin shape shifter, not a werewolf but some kind of mountain lion.

Royce left the precinct and walked to his car. The sun was shining brightly and he did feel a little uncomfortable. Even though he could walk in daylight, today was one of the hottest days of the summer and he had to admit the heat was a little unbearable. He didn’t sweat and his body absorbed the heat. Beth Ann had called him and asked him to come by she needed to speak with him. He didn’t like the sound of her voice she rarely lost her cool. He was concerned because she rarely called him in the middle of the day to have him come over.

He’d left his new partner, Tony Palermo, a human guy who he actually could tolerate, at the station house. There was paperwork he had asked Tony to help him with because he fucking hated paperwork. He was glad he and Tony were a good fit you never knew who                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       you were teaming up with. Like humans, there was good and bad in all walks of life and it was his job to make sure no one broke the law. Tony felt the same way and was a good cop who had a good solid background about the paranormal and all its inhabitance.

In the last forty years, more and more vampires began to surface and now were an instrumental part of police forces and many country’s armed forces. They were stronger, smarter, fearless, and once they exposed themselves, they found humans less desirable as nourishment. Well not the whole truth, they got their share of human blood, the hardened criminals, and the murders. Here was a never-ending source of nourishment. Death row became outdated, and murders now wished for death by hanging, lethal injection even electrocution. Now their demise was simply a bloody affair, controlled, but still those who observed, said it was a feeding frenzy.

Then there was the recreational feeding, which was usually accompanied by sex, and now humans craved the company of a vampire because of the euphoric results. It was said, ‘Once you had red, you’d only want the dead.’ Royce hated the expression. He thought over glorifying a vampire’s need to feed was stupid and dangerous.

However, Royce wasn’t dead, he just wasn’t human. In addition, he truly wasn’t cursed he was some kind of human evolution gone awry. Human in a sense yes, but there were so many unanswered questions about a vampire’s DNA. Scientists, some of them the smartest vampires in the world, continued to work on finding out what was the
missing link
. However, Royce didn’t care. His body and his so-called soul were taken from him eons ago.

This world, this century, this millennium, was the best so far. He’d lived through wars, famines, natural disasters and watched more people die than he cared to think about. Now he’d found a life he could live with, a woman he was
happy
with. Beth Ann Matthews had all the qualifications he ever wanted in a woman, the top one being human.

As the centuries past, he learned a great deal, about what he was.
Modern day vampires
weren’t
born
in the ancient traditional way, alive, to a female of their species. The specie’s females bred only once in their long lifetime. Their inability to reproduce ceased centuries ago, leaving them a race close to extinction. The ancients had fed on wildlife, but the humans tasted far better and were abundant. Humans never understood the vampire, or understood their intelligence. Humans eventually became the majority and dominant species, destroying what they couldn’t comprehend and forcing vampires to go into hiding. As the centuries went on, many went back to old ways, ancient ways and began to feed on humans.

From the time Royce became an immortal he always did what he thought was right. He lived with human women and aided humans against his own kind. He despised needless death and killing.

The making of a vampire was as old as time. A
newborn vampire
was drained of blood until their hearts almost stopped allowing them to transition, body and soul reawakening Nosferatu. Now the government controlled it. It was safer to monitor those who’d requested to give up their humanity. Well that’s at least how it was supposed to work but it didn’t always. What everyone forgot was how ravenous a newborn was, how they craved blood and sex twenty-four seven for months. So now, it had become a crime for both the vampire and the human when the transition wasn’t monitored.

There was a huge and unique underground network, revenue in the millions of dollars, offering immortality for a price. He parked his car in Beth Ann’s garage and locked it with his remote key. She had some important information for him and she sounded urgent.

He buzzed in, “Hey baby,” he said.

“Royce hi,” she said as her buzzer sounded. He opened the door to the lobby of her apartment building and headed for the elevator. Her voice echoed in his head, he could feel her emotions and Beth Ann was extremely emotional at the moment. Christ, he thought, what the hell was going on. He hated to see her upset. She could handle hardened criminals with the utmost dignity and finesse. She never became rattled or undone. The tone of her voice just now was a dead giveaway that something was definitely amiss.

He stepped out of the elevator quickly, anxious to see what was going on. He didn’t have to wait long the door to her apartment was already open and waiting for him. He was at her door with vampire haste and sorry he rushed. Beth Ann stood with her arms akimbo next to a beautiful young woman sitting on her white leather couch. Royce frowned, how the hell did Lucinda find out where Beth Ann lived. He hadn’t spoken to her in over two years, though he knew where she was at all times, this was the curse of a vampire and his prodigies. He also forgot how resourceful vampires were finding Beth Ann, he was sure was a piece of cake for Lucinda.

Chapter Eleven

“Why look who it is, my favorite vampire,” Lucinda said smiling brilliantly.

Beth Ann tapped her foot on the wooden floor. “And the reason you won’t change me?”

He stood before them and grinned. “Well look who it is, my wayward child. What brings you out of hiding?” he said ignoring Beth Ann, which he knew would agitate her further, but it was unavoidable. Lucinda was part of him and he hated to admit he was more than happy to see her.

Lucinda rose from the couch, her beauty stunning as always. Her fluid motion as she came to him was a thing of splendor. His peripheral vision caught the look of horror and surprise on Beth Ann’s face. He couldn’t blame her, each time she begged him to turn her, to make her an immortal he denied her. Now Lucinda turns up, one of his very own prodigies. Yeah, she was livid and that bothered him. “This could only mean you need something Lucinda.”

“Yes, my Lord I need your help.”

Beth Ann’s eyes widened. “My, Lord, did you just call him my Lord?”

Lucinda turned to her and raised an eyebrow. “Could you please tell this heifer to shut up,” Lucinda purred.

Shit, Royce, thought, here we fucking go. He had to admit it had been peaceful the last forty or so years without all the bickering between them. With modern times came women’s liberation and his female vampires were no exception. Although it took one stern thought from him to calm them down, bedlam still existed when they got all riled up.

“Lucinda behave!” He raised his voice and she bared her fangs. Beth Ann now backed away.

“You turned her. Why won’t you turn me? I don’t understand, I love you and want to spend eternity with you.” It was also a plea. She kept backing away from Lucinda, letting her tears of frustration run down her cheeks.

“Baby, you don’t understand. I turned Lucinda centuries ago. I want you human, I need you to stay human,” he said moving toward her. He was upset. He’d never seen her this frightened of him. He turned to Lucinda.

“What do you want? Christ, I thought you were happy out there on your own. Remember your words,
it’s the twenty first century, Royce I don’t need you
.”

“Well I need your help. Jared is a warlock and he’s gotten himself in a bit of a bind. You’re a cop. I know you can help him.”

“Jared?” Royce repeated. “Who the hell is Jared?” he asked.

“He’s the love of my life and he’s a warlock.”

“A warlock?” Beth Ann whispered.

Royce went to Beth Ann and gathered her into his arms. She didn’t protest. “Go on Lucinda,” he said.

“He’s gotten himself involved in some underground selling of human organs. These aren’t for transplant…they’re…,” he stopped her because Beth Ann’s body began to tremble.

“Okay I get the picture Lucinda,” he said stopping her from adding the gory details to her conversation.

“Baby, you all right?” he asked Beth Ann.

“Yes, yes, I’m just a bit taken off my guard Royce, how many of these
children
do you have? And a warlock? Body parts? ”

He held her tight. He hadn’t told her about his three dirty little secrets. The need to never came up. And as of late, she was pushing him for more than he was willing to give her, more than he wanted to give her. How do you tell her you’ve been down that road before and you sure as hell don’t want to go down it again? He held her out in front of him. “Beth Ann over the last one thousand years I’ve made three vampires, I have three prodigies. Lucinda, Magenta and Dahlia, they are all alive and kicking and on their own. “This,” he looked toward Lucinda, “Is of course Lucinda and she obviously needs my help. Please understand why I neglected to tell you about them.”

He saw understanding in her eyes. His chest had an unusual heaviness to it as he took in her pretty face. For the first time in years, he was worried. Beth Ann was important to him. Then he mulled over Lucinda’s words.
‘He’s the love of my life.’
But they couldn’t love−or could they? He needed to shake his mind free of emotional bullshit and concentrate on Lucinda’s dilemma.

Lucinda once again snarled and bared her fangs. “Just turn the bitch and let’s move on,” she growled low.

He let go of Beth Ann and in a flash had Lucinda by the neck. “Watch that mouth and put those fangs away. You want help, then you act accordingly in front of Beth Ann. She means a great deal to me. So much so, I don’t want to curse her and turn her.”

Like a cat taken by the scruff of her neck, Lucinda calmed down immediately and her fangs receded. “Yes my Lord, I’m sorry. But I need your help,” she said and it was now a quiet plea.

“Come let us talk civilized,” he said letting go of her neck. He held out his arm for Beth Ann and she came to him wrapping her body to his. Lucinda sat back down now letting her eyes fill with rusty tears.

“Jared Anderson and I have been together now for over three years. He’s a very talented warlock. However, like all of us, his powers have been stifled because of the times we live in. He’s over five hundred years old and his money has run out. I have offered him money but he’s too proud to take it and got himself involved in this human organ thing. Royce, you have no idea how many of
us
there are, meaning creatures other than humans, living and breathing on this planet. Anyway, lately, I’m sure you’ve seen a rise in missing persons and unexplained murders. And you do know that the organs must be harvested while the human is still alive, they’re useless if the human dies.”

“Well that does help me and the NYPD, the spike the last few months had to have an explanation, but all leads were very closed mouth,” he said holding Beth Ann close trying to absorb her fear. “Where is Jared now?”

“He’s waiting in the car. I wasn’t sure how you would take to another alpha male here and near your female,” Lucinda said grinning.

He turned to Beth Ann. “Baby pack a few things you’re coming to stay with me. Lucinda, you and Jared at my place. I need to get as much information from him as possible,” he paused. “Have you heard from Magenta and Dahlia?”

Lucinda tried to look away from him but knew that was in vain, he could still read her mind. “Dahlia is alone and Magenta has been with one human male after another. However, she’s been discreet. I do believe they’ve assimilated themselves into human society nicely. It is after all the twenty-first century,” she said forcing a grin.

Royce had a brownstone in Brooklyn and he lived there alone. It had three stories and Beth Ann had just finished decorating the main floor for him. She already had the essentials there since she stayed over often enough. Lucinda and her warlock boyfriend might be a windfall for him and the city. He had the room but he’d needed to find out exactly what was going down, if he was going to help them and protect his sorry magical ass.

“Here’s a key to my place,” he said taking a key off his keychain. “You know exactly where it is,” he said as he let her search his mind.

She smiled. “I can still see your thoughts,” she said.

“Yes, only because I’m letting you. Now get over there as quickly as possible.” He grabbed Lucinda and kissed her deeply. It was no brotherly kiss, far from it. It was one filled with hunger and desire. But he did get a hint of something else from her. An emotion? He pushed her away from him and his look quizzical and questioning. They had much to talk over.

She moved as quickly as he did when needed and was gone in a flash leaving him to stand before Beth Ann. “Are you okay?” he asked her.

“No, I’m not okay. I’m scared, disillusioned and really pissed off at you,” she said and he saw how hard she tried to hold back tears.

“Beth Ann, I…”

She came into his arms. “I love you because you’re a good man−no hear me out,” she said looking up at him. He shook his head and began to open his mouth, but she put two of her fingers over his lips. “I love you Royce Bellamy because you stand up for your convictions and you have made the decision to help humanity not destroy it. As non-humans came out, appeared and made themselves known it was been a transitioning world. Chaos did reign for a while, my parents told me. Then, the humanity in each creature found its way to the surface then peace and understanding took hold. Funny how the old haunts, old prejudices disappeared and new ones came to the surface. I do believe the world is a better place now that we are all out in the open. My generation only knows the diversity we have here living on this planet. The genius that we now have to work with to better humanity, I’d have it no other way. I love you and I’d have that no other way. It tears me apart knowing you can never return that love, but that you still chose to be with me.” Now she let the tears run down her cheeks.

Again a heaviness in his chest, so unfamiliar, yet it was there. Her tears unnerved him, they always did, because she shed them so infrequently. Beth Ann was a strong intelligent woman and his draw to her was undeniable. At that moment, he wanted to make love to her.

“I need you Beth Ann, I need to fuck you.”

She molded her body to his and took his lips to hers. His hands came to her head and he gently pushed her face to his so he could devour her mouth.

“Royce please take me. Change me. Make me yours, tonight. If you can’t love me then at least make me belong to you.” Again, her words stung him and he tried desperately to ignore her request. He stopped to gaze at her.

“Do you understand that if I do this you will never love again? What you feel for me now will be gone? Is that what you want? To be like me, never being able to truly love?”

She took his face in her hands. “You’re wrong. You love me you just have no idea what it feels like anymore.” The heaviness in his chest continued. He didn’t love her. He’d never love anyone ever again. She was wrong. At least the sight of her eased his yearning for anyone else. He had no desire left for his three vampires. He’d help Lucinda, but he wanted nothing more to do with her. He’d kill anyone who try to hurt Beth Ann, the thought of her hurt or gone from his life was unthinkable.

He kissed her again, deeply and soulfully. He crushed her to him trying hard to make her a part of him. He couldn’t destroy her and take her humanity from her.

He picked her up, took her into the bedroom and began tearing at her clothes. She scrambled on the bed, moved away from him and began undressing. He then began tearing at his own clothing. She undressed quickly and came to him pushing his hands away from his shirt.

“This shirt cost over fifty-four dollars, I’ll not have you rip it apart Royce.” She smiled up at him and again that heaviness in his chest. Now it was a wrenching sensation, no it was a yearning, it was almost painful and that was impossible, Royce didn’t feel any pain.

She had him undressed, naked and hard. She led him to the bed. “Make love to me,” she requested. He came over her and hugged her to him. His hands roamed her voluptuous body, exploring every curve as if he’d never touched her before. He lips followed his hands and he kissed every possible inch of her skin feeling her quiver and hearing her groan under his touch. He never wanted any woman the way he wanted her at this moment. He sought her wet core, licked, and sucked her pussy until she was out of her mind with need. Her clit was swollen and his tongue rolled it around as he flicked it until her body convulsed with her orgasm. Her juices ran down his chin and he smiled, she tasted amazing. Her clit was bursting with blood and he couldn’t hold back as the tip of one fang pieced the delicate membrane and he drank. So careful was he as he took but a few drops and let her orgasm again, but this time she screamed.

“Oh my fucking God, Royce!” he let a few hearty chuckles escape and he allowed that heavy feeling in his chest to spread.

His cock was aching for release and he was over her in a flash. Her legs spread wide plunging his cock deep, to the tip of her womb, then he pulled out of her and back again. He was blind nothing was in his way or his mind as he rammed his hardness into her repeatedly. The crescendo built once again and pleasure was but a thrust away. He exploded and pushed hard. With each thrust, his seed pushed forth into her, once, twice and he was done. He held onto her, his cock still deep within her.

“Royce, again, fuck me again now!” she said loudly. She didn’t have to ask him twice. With a deep growl, he moved inside her once again, his cock still hard and needing more. The sweat beaded up on her forehead and her body was slick. He just kept on pushing thrusting until his balls tightened and he came. She shook in his arms as her body gave into her last and final orgasm, her cunt clutching his cock tightly. The need that he felt in his chest was overwhelming and now he remembered when he’d experienced that before. It was the moment he’d fallen in love, the moment when he realized he was a man in love. That was so long ago but now as he held Beth Ann in his arms the realization hit him. He loved her and he needed to tell her. She was right. It was time.

“Beth Ann,” he whispered.

She nodded and gazed at him. “Yes Royce.”

“I was so wrong.”

“You were,” she said smiling.

“About love, Beth Ann I was so wrong about love.”

Tears rolled down her cheeks. “Were you?”

“Yes baby, I was. You see I know now that I love you and my love is complete and for an eternity.”

She tried to speak but couldn’t and broke into sobs. He held her tight and let his vampire persona take hold of him. He moved her away from him to show her who he was. “This is who I am and is this really who you want to become?”
