He handed her panties and pants to her. They both dressed,
although Braden didn’t put his shirt back on. He tossed it over his shoulder
then helped her up.

“I’m not ready.” She held his hand. “I want to tell you
something first.”

The look in her green eyes worried him. “I’m listening.”

“I love you.”

Had she just said the L word? He was supposed to say it
first. “Courtney.”

Her cheeks flushed. “It’s okay if you don’t feel that way
yet, but I wanted you to know I did.”

“Of course I feel that way.” He shook his head. “I love
you.”

She smiled, her hair a mess from their lovemaking. “I love
you.”

He chuckled. “I love you, sweetheart.”

“I love you.” She giggled.

“I love you. How many times are we going to say it?”

“Until I get tired of saying it.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of saying it or hearing
it.” He pulled her into his arms. “You’re an amazing woman. I can’t wait to see
what the future holds for us.”

“Me either.” She gave him a peck on the lips. “Are you sure
you’re ready to take on me and my daughter? We can be a handful.”

“I’m in love with her too.” The little girl had captured his
heart the moment he’d watched her feed a carrot to Rosie. “I plan to be there
for her in every way I can.”

“We’ll see how you feel in the teenage years.”

“Hopefully by then, we’ll have another rug rat or two
running around.” He cleared his throat. “If you want more.”

“I want nothing more than another one, two, maybe three.
This town better watch out with all the little Carvers that will be running
around.”

Just the thought of her pregnant with his child make his
chest expand. “I guess we should tell my family the good news.”

“What is that?”

“Even with their crazy shenanigans, you’re not going
anywhere.”

She stared at him and moistened her lips. “They couldn’t
have chased me off anyway. You mean too much to me.”

He squeezed her tight. “I love you.”

“I love you more.”

This woman...he could already tell she’d do whatever it took
to win an argument. “Is that how we’re going to play it now?”

“Yup.”

He lifted her up in his arms and she shrieked. “Then I guess
I will spend my life proving to you that I love you more.”

Arranged Love

They think they’re fooling their parents, but really, the
joke’s on them.

Kayla Ames’s parents could win an award in meddling. Every
time she turns around, they’re setting her up with someone new. Try as she
might, she can’t convince them to butt out of her love life.

Ryan Newell isn’t looking for love. After having his heart
torn to shreds by his ex, he’s determined to never again fall in love and leave
himself that vulnerable to being hurt. His parents, however, believe he just
needs some help finding the right woman, and their friends’ daughter, Kayla,
might be a perfect match.

Realizing they both have the same problem—parents who won’t
stop nagging them about finding a partner—Ryan and Kayla agree to an
arrangement of sorts. All they have to do is pretend to date, and they don’t
even have to see each other, they can discuss the details of their
"dates" via email. But then the email conversations lead to real
dates, and Kayla finds herself struggling to keep her feelings for Ryan in
check as he’s made it clear love will not enter into the equation for him. Then
Kayla’s parents suddenly announce they’re getting a divorce, and she begins to
wonder if maybe Ryan has the right idea.

When it all gets to be too much for Kayla, she has a hard
decision to make—agree to stay with Ryan and never experience love, or walk
away for her chance to find it.
