Chapter Five

Early October 2012

Hailey and I decided to go to the Beacon football game and be supportive of Jeff and Lee since they’re both on the team. Jeff is the quarterback and Lee is a running back and both of them are really talented players.  Hailey has been dating Lee since they went apple picking and the two of them seem to have hit it off. I know she won’t get serious with him but at least, it’s someone for her to go out with. Prior to Lee, she hadn’t been on a date in two years. She has some issues from her past that have damaged her ability to trust and unfortunately, that’s probably not going to change. She mentioned that she’s been upfront with Lee about not wanting anything serious right away and he was okay with it. I just hope he’s careful with her feelings and doesn’t mind taking things slow. She doesn’t need to deal with any more shit than she already has.

Both of the guys gave us their practice jerseys to wear for the game. Jeff does it as a joke, to keep all the piranha at bay. He gets sick of the trampy girls pathetically throwing themselves at him. Lee wants Hailey to wear his jersey because he really likes her. Since the weather is a bit cooler today, I’m wearing a long sleeve shirt under it and skinny jeans with my converse. My hair is down and I actually took the extra time to straighten it, which is no easy feat. I wanted to quit halfway through but it would’ve looked strange so Hailey took over and saved me from a ridiculously bad hair and sore arms.

Jeff gave us tickets in the family section since none of his relatives are here and we’re sitting in great seats. We have nice unobstructed views of the field and the perfect vantage point for me to ogle Jeff in his uniform. I love the way football pants hug his butt. He looks so sexy in them. It makes me want to do naughty things to him later tonight.

Beacon is up by one touchdown in the second quarter and they seem to be playing well. My throat is hoarse from cheering so much and I desperately need a drink. I tap Hailey on the arm to get her attention.

“Hey, I’m going to grab a drink before the halftime rush. Do you want one?”

“No thanks, I still have some water left.”

I stand up and make my way past the people in the seats next to me until I reach the aisle. I run all the way up the stairs and make my way around the stadium until I come to the first snack bar. The line is fairly long so I decide to move on to the next one which is located on the other side of the building. I’m speed walking as fast as I can because I don’t want to miss any of the game and I don’t want to get trapped in the crowd sure to come when the clock ticks down to the end the first half. I’m in such a hurry that I zig when I should zag and I bump into someone coming out of the men’s room. Both of my hands are up in front of me in a defensive stance so they land on the rock hard chest before me. I raise my head up to see who I need to apologize to and realize it’s Professor Hanlon.
Unfuckingbelievable. Just my luck.

“Watch where you’re going.” I bark out at him with a scowl. I try to push myself away from him but he wraps his arms around me and holds me in place.

“Shelby it’s always nice bumping into you,” He smirks at me only making me angrier. I try to pull out of his grip but it’s no use. He’s holding me too firmly.

“Let me go.”

“What’s the rush, Shelby? There’s still plenty of game left. In fact, come with me.” He takes my arm and pulls me along the hallway with him. I’m almost jogging to keep up with his long strides until we stop before a set of two doors. He opens the one on the right and pulls me into what appears to be a large supply closet.

“Professor Hanlon, what are you doing?” Once again I try to loosen his hold but I can’t get out of it.

“Call me Garrett. I want to hear your voice as you say my name, Shelby. I want to see that beautiful mouth of yours pronounce each syllable. Say it.” He prompts me
. “Say it now,”
He orders me in a deeper, huskier tone. He leans forward until our lips are only about an inch apart and pauses. I don’t know why, but I find myself reacting sexually to his command.

“Garrett,” I whisper softly. He groans as he presses his mouth to mine. He sensually licks my lower lip before sucking my top lip between both of his. I moan from the longing a single kiss from him can bring out in me. One small kiss and I’m ready for him to take me in a supply closet. His hands trail down to cup my ass and pull my hips toward his. His erection presses on my lower stomach as he finally slides his tongue into my mouth to lick and suck on mine. My hands slide under his shirt to claw at his naked back as he rolls his hips against my pelvis. His skin is smooth and hot to the touch, his muscles rippling with his every movement. I reach my hand down and caress him through his pants. I’m overwhelmed with an urge to see if he’s as large and hard as he feels. I slowly trace the outline of his cock before squeezing it tight with my fingers. His answering groan in my ear sounds so masculine and sexy.
“Touch me Shelby.” He encourages. “I need your hands on me now.” As I undo the snap on his jeans and pull down the zipper, I’m crazed with the need to touch him. I move my hand downward and find that he’s not wearing any underwear.
Why am I not surprised by this?
He’s so hard and thick my fingers can barely fit around him. His skin is soft like velvet and he’s solid like steel. I slowly slide my hand up and down his length a few times squeezing him tight in my fist. Touching him is making my panties drenched and making me yearn to be fucked hard against the wall. I continue moving my hand up and down, increasing the speed as I go. His breathing is becoming ragged in my ear and I can tell he’s getting close because his balls are drawn up tight to his body and his hips are thrusting at a faster rate. I raise his tee shirt up as far as I can so I can lick his chest while I continue touching him. It’s only a minute more before he groans out my name, coming all over my hand and his stomach.

“Shelby,” he pants out between breaths. I ignore him as I look around for something to wipe my hand on. I find a roll of paper towels for us to clean up with. After I finish, I throw the paper towel in the rubbish and quickly walk to the door. As I’m turning the knob, I hear him say my name.

“Shelby,” he pauses until I look at him over my shoulder. “You can run now, but we both know this is only the beginning.” I open the door and walk out without looking back or acknowledging what he said.
I can’t believe that just happened.
I need a stiff drink now more than ever, but they don’t serve alcohol at our college games. Damn. I purchase two bottles of coke and I gulp one down immediately; carrying the other one back to my seat with me. When I sit down, I notice there are only thirty seconds left on the clock until halftime.

“What took you so long Shelb?” Hailey asks as soon as I sit down.

“You won’t believe it when I tell you later.” I shake my head, angry with myself over my lack of control, as I answer her question.

The second half of the game has been action packed with back to back touchdowns by both teams. The score is close with Beacon still up by seven points. There’s only two minutes left in the game and we have the ball. Jeff is notorious for being great during the two-minute countdown and he doesn’t disappoint. When there are only twenty seconds on the clock he hands the ball off to Lee and he takes it in for another touchdown, sealing their win. Hailey and I start screaming and jumping up and down.

“That was such a great play,” Hailey tells me, the excitement she’s feeling, apparent in her voice.

“You better reward Lee tonight.” I laugh and elbow her in the side. She rolls her eyes at me.

“Yeah, because I make a habit of sleeping with guys when they score touchdowns.”

“Well, you have always had a thing for football players. Do you need to be reminded of Erik and Marcus...do those names ring a bell?”

“You’re such a bitch. You just had to go there. You’re supposed to be my friend.” She jokingly punches me on my arm and we both laugh.

“Was Cory ever a football player?” I hold my arms up in front of me to ward off the beating that I know she wants to give me.

“You’re a horrible friend for even mentioning him. He doesn’t exist. He was a moment of temporary insanity. Would you like me to go through your list of mistakes?” She smirks.

“We’re talking about you right now, not me,” I say with feigned innocence. Hailey shakes her head and gives me her trademark eye roll. We sit in silence for a few minutes as people shuffle by us and make their way out of the stadium. We have to wait for the guys so we’re in no rush. They’re taking us to a frat party and although I don’t really feel like going, I’m sure I’ll end up having a great time.

We slowly make our way to where the locker rooms are so we can be waiting for the guys when they come out. On the way down I filled Hailey in on what happened with Professor Hanlon.

“It seems like you guys have some serious chemistry Shelb. I’ve never seen you so out of control with your feelings for a guy.” She looks at me to gauge my reaction. I’m chewing on my lip lost in memories of our closet rendezvous.

“It’s so weird that I have such a strong attraction to him. I can’t stand him and sometimes I literally want to punch him in the face. But then other times I want to tear his clothes off and angry fuck him.” Hailey snorts at my reply.

“Oh my God...angry fuck him...you kill me Shelb.”

“What am I going to do Hails? It seems like he and I are inevitably heading toward sleeping together and it feels as though I’m just a passenger on a crazy car ride that I have no control over. It’s careening full speed in his direction and I can’t seem to stop it, no matter how much I try.”

“If you do sleep with him, you need to be careful that this can’t come back to bite you in the ass. I mean that figuratively, not literally.” She giggles before continuing. “You need to keep your fooling around to safer locations where you can’t get caught. You guys have already taken too many chances. No guy is worth getting expelled over Shelby, no matter how hot he is. Use him for the sex, but be smart about it. You can’t let him affect your future.”

“I know Hails, you’re absolutely right. I’m not sure what’s going to happen with this situation but I need to make sure it can’t blow back on me.”

The frat party is going strong when the four of us arrive. Jeff and Lee are totally pumped from tonight’s game since it was against another team in their division and this win will improve their standing. We enter the house and a cheer goes up when the party guests catch sight of the guys. I try to hang back a bit and give Jeff his space, but he’s not having any of that. He grabs my hand and pulls me over next to him so he can sling his arm around my shoulders.

“What do you want to drink Shelby?” He asks me, leaning in close to my ear so he can be heard over the loud music. This party is already out of control and I can only imagine what it’ll be like in a couple more hours when everyone is liquored up. There’s a girl laying across the kitchen table and she’s letting guys do body shots off various parts of her. There’s a keg in the corner and some of the football team members and some of the cheerleaders are taking turns doing keg stands.

“I’ll take a shot of tequila if you have it.” If I’m going to last at this party, I’ll have to get a buzz on. There are too many drunk people already and it’s no fun being the only completely sober person in a room full of intoxicated ones. Besides, I have to stay for a while because I don’t want to leave Hailey in a lurch. She’s with Lee now, but she may want to go home at some point and not spend the night with him. This is a big step for her and I want to make sure I’m here for her if she needs me. We always have each other’s backs...hos before bros. When I glance around to see where she and Lee have disappeared to, I find them looking pretty cozy in the corner of the living room. Hailey has a big smile on her face and Lee has his arms around her. It makes me hopeful to see her enjoying herself with a guy. I’m proud of her for giving Lee a chance.

“Here you go Shelby,” Jeff says as he hands me two shots of tequila. He grins at my surprised expression as I take them from his hands.

“Two? Double fisted shot shooting?” I raise my eyebrow at him. “Are you trying to get me drunk so I’ll sleep with you? Because you know I’m a sure thing where you’re concerned.” I wink at him and pat his chest before I knock the first shot back. I take a moment to enjoy the after burn of the tequila in my throat before I tip my head back and swallow the second one down. This one makes my eyes water and the alcohol burns all the way to my stomach.

“Okay, no more of those. Whoo!” I exhale the tequila fumes that are lingering in my mouth.

“Hmm, I love tequila.” Jeff leans over and licks my lips before slipping his tongue between them. I slide my hands into his back pockets on his jeans and cup his muscular ass as our kiss continues. Jeff’s hands are on my waist, underneath my shirt and his fingers are teasingly trailing along the edge of my pants. A vision of Professor Hanlon suddenly pops into my head putting an end to any romantic feelings I was having for Jeff. I pull my mouth away and rest my head on his chest.

“Are you okay?’ He asks me.

“Yeah, I think the tequila just kicked in.” It’s not a full out lie. It doesn’t feel good to be kissing one guy and thinking of another. I won’t do that to Jeff, he deserves better. I don’t want Professor Hanlon coming between us. We have a good thing going and I don’t need him messing it up. I don’t want or need complications. I’m careful to avoid things that will cause them for this very reason.
