Queensland, Present Day

By the time Gabriella had convinced Lena and Zachary to go to sleep on their yacht and take Wilson with them, she was exhausted. They planned to leave first thing in the morning. She hoped this was not going to run it too fine. Pete had been instructed to ensure his boat “broke down” and was not repaired
until the morning. Last thing she wanted was the boats passing each other close enough for the occupants of one to sense the other.

She went to her room and collapsed on the bed. She was sure she wouldn’t sleep. Staring at the ceiling, Gabriella’s mind was racing. Would she be able to convince her family not to attack Mac and Mitch? Would she be at risk if she went to Tasmania with them, assuming they wanted her to? Or would she have to give them up, just as her Great-Aunt Larissa had? The thought made her feel overwhelmed with loss, and for a moment she could imagine that it was possible to die of a broken heart.

They did not knock, and she didn’t even hear the door open. But suddenly they were there with her. The immediate feeling was one of feeling safe and pleased but this was soon overwhelmed with an intense fear as she remembered her cousins and Wilson were only a few hundred yards away. She sat bolt upright.

“How did you, that is what are you, I mean…” Gabriella said, finishing with, “You shouldn’t be here.”

“We got that message,” said Mac dryly. “But we decided not to wait for the boat.”

Mitch shook his head, and the water flying off his mop suggested they had not waited for a boat at all. Maybe they couldn’t fly, but it seemed like they could swim.

Gabriella covered up her anxiety with anger. “You knew I was part of the family, and yet you didn’t tell me about who you were,” she said, glaring at them both.

“We tried,” said Mitch lamely.

“We didn’t want to lose you,” said Mac, watching her carefully.

“Even though I’m the enemy? Why are you even here? Was it you that injured Lena?”

Mac shook his head. “No, that was the Tremain boys. We’re Mortimers. Your cousins attacked them first.”

“So why are you here?” Gabriella repeated.

“Because Zachary bit our sister,” said Mitch. “She’s dying.”

Gabriella inhaled, hand to her mouth. “Oh, I’m so sorry.”

The three of them stared at each other. Gabriella felt her life falling apart around her. How could they ever accept her if one of her kind had killed their sister? She wasn’t sure she would forgive them if anything happened to Lena, and yet that was why they had come. Lena had been with Zachary.

“We didn’t offer you a fair choice,” said Mac. He and Mitch were still both standing in her doorway and had made no attempt to come closer. Gabriella could still feel their power. Physically and mentally they emanated a need for her. “We didn’t know you were…one of them…when we fell for you. But we knew last night.”

The unsaid words hung between them. They still wanted her, regardless. But could she choose them over her own flesh and blood? Her job, her love of the Queensland coast, her mother and her father flashed through her mind as a tear fell down one cheek.

“It’s okay,” said Mitch. “We understand. We respect your decision.”

Mac looked unable to speak. He turned, and as he and his brother disappeared Gabriella let out a howl. “No!” She ran after them and threw herself at Mac. “You can’t touch them. Neither of them, nor Wilson either.” She was not sure if she was angry, grieving, or just desperate. She knew there was no way she could physically stop the brothers doing anything. She didn’t want them hurt any more than she wanted her cousins injured or killed.

“My great-uncle’s desire for revenge got us into this mess every bit as much as your ancestor spurning mine did,” Gabriella said. “Put a stop to it. Now.”

Gabriella watched the brothers exchange glances, knowing that in the look was a decision she was not privy to. She looked at their clenched fists and in them saw all the anger that had driven Wilson, Zachary, Adam, and Lena’s lives. The need for revenge, at all costs. Then in the silence she saw Mac first, and then Mitch in response, relax. Mac leant down and kissed her forehead gently.

“You’re right. More bloodshed will not give us Melody back,” he said. “The prophecy said we had to overcome our instincts to find salvation. We had thought that it was our love for you, but perhaps we were wrong. We can overcome this instinct without involving you.” His hand brushed the hair off her face. He added, “And I can keep one promise to you at least. I said I would never knowingly hurt you.”

They turned again to leave and Gabriella finally found her voice. “I never said I didn’t want to be with…you both.”

The men stopped. It was Mitch that turned first.

“We couldn’t stay here,” he said. “Your family—”

“I know,” said Gabriella.

“Tasmania is pretty cold.”

“I know.”

“But I think our family will be okay. It’s not like, well, you don’t radiate ghost.”

“I know.”

“We probably won’t be able to be actually ever like or forgive Zachary.”

“I know.”

Mac turned now, and Gabriella could see a hint of a tear in his eye.

“I’ll never let you go,” he said, voice little more than a croaky whisper. “It would have to be forever.”

“I know.”

How Mac crossed the room as fast as he did Gabriella couldn’t be sure, but he was there, his head buried in her neck, one hand in her hair, and the other pinning her body to him so forcefully that she could hardly breathe. In a swift movement he picked her up in his arms and took her to her bed, both falling on it. She forgot everything else but these men.

“Mitch?” she called in between kisses that seemed deep and never ending, and then he was there, too, on her other side. Sandwiched between them, she felt totally safe. Loved and protected. Whatever the world threw at them in the future she felt in that instant that she would manage anything as long as these two men were by her

There was haste that they all felt, a desperation to feel relief in their joining as one again. Gabriella pulled her dress over her head, and Mitch unclipped her bra and ran his hands over her breasts. She turned toward him, kissing him, as Mac, now naked, pulled down her G-string and pulled her hips to his groin, where his cock was already hard.

They covered her body with hot kisses, mouths over her nipples, tongues in her ears. Mitch went to her feet and took each toe in turn before licking along one leg until the tip of his tongue was on the edge of her cunt, in one long, luxurious movement opening her up as he lapped at her juices.

Gabriella allowed herself to be the object of their devotion as they took it in turns, one enjoying and pleasuring her as the other sat back and delighted in her rubbing his cock or licking its tip. She felt them watching as she moaned and wriggled in response to their every touch and every pause where they lingered, ensuring all their pleasure went for as long as possible.

Gabriella’s skin tingled with the light touches that Mitch was now tantalizing her with, working closer to her swollen lips then ever so lightly dipping into her pussy briefly. He pulled one leg toward him as Mac pulled the other to him, opening her up so that her lips parted, exposing her juices. Mac’s fingers went to her clit and circled around it as Mitch pushed a finger inside her. She gasped.

Mitch kissed her, his hands now on her breasts, and Mac moved between her legs, rubbing his cock along her slit.

“Oh yes, please,” whispered Gabriella.

Mac didn’t need a second invitation. He pushed her legs up, and kneeling between them, he thrust his cock inside her, pulling her hips into him. Gabriella, desperate to have him deeper, wrapped her legs around his waist as Mitch supported her from behind, his tongue in her ear thrusting as his brother’s cock did likewise.

Gabriella felt Mac so deep inside her that she was sure she would be unable to take any more, yet the waves of desire and need continued to make her muscles clamp and suck him into her all the more. Mac eased onto his back, still in her, angling her so she now was astride him, and Mitch kneeled behind her, fingers firmly on her nipples, pulling so hard that she cried out with pain that somehow translated into an even more intense pleasure. She laid her head back onto Mitch’s shoulder, and his lips came over hers, and she moaned and moved with the waves of pleasure which shifted yet again with the change of angle.

“Do you want me coming in you, too, from behind?” Mitch whispered into her ear.

Gabriella had no idea, but the thought sent a shiver of anticipation through her. Everything else these two had introduced her to had been amazing. Why not this, too?

Mac slowed down his pace as she leant forward, kneeling over him, kissing him deeply. Mitch massaged her buttocks, her ass high in the air. As she continued kissing Mac, she was aware that Mitch’s fingers were brushing over her anus, and then one and a second pushed inside her. She gasped, her pelvis clasping all the harder over Mac’s cock, and he, too, moaned in response.

Gabriella felt Mitch’s cock now, at first tentatively, and then both of her men were taking her. She felt she might split in two, but they were gentle and slow, both of them, waiting for her to ease herself into a position that optimized the pleasure. She wriggled, panting, and then suddenly as if one of the cocks, or perhaps both had hit right on her G-spot, her hands clutched Mac’s shoulders, and she stiffened, crying out, rocking as waves of pure, unadulterated pleasure took over her whole being. Her men took the cue, letting her dictate the rhythm as Mac pulled her pelvis hard down onto him. Once pinned there, Mitch thrust deeper inside, his movements prolonging the ecstasy. Never had Gabriella experienced such a deep physical pleasure, but she was sure that the experience for Mac and Mitch, as for her, went beyond their orgasms and cemented a deeper emotional connection that would bind them together always.

Mac woke first, with the early light through the open louvers flickering over him. He didn’t know where he was at first, but the stirring naked woman in his arms brought back a flood of nocturnal memories he would have happily basked in had it not been for a sense of unease. Something had woken him. He remembered suddenly that when he and Mitch had tried to find Kate’s protective spray in their room, it and all their belongings had vanished. The ghosts were not far away, and his senses suggested they were getting closer. He eased his arm out from under Gabriella and flicked his brother. Mitch was instantly awake and alert. He had read Mac, but chances were he felt it, too. In silence they put their clothes on and devised a plan.

The door to Gabriella’s apartment flew open, and she just had time to grab a sheet to cover herself before Zachary and Wilson were in her bedroom.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” she asked angrily.

“We could ask the same thing,” Zachary growled. “Where are they?”

After the previous night Gabriella figured their scent must be everywhere, so there was no point denying it. She stood up, wrapping the sheet around her as nonchalantly as she could manage.

“This is my island, Zachary Karlssen, and I want you, both of you, off it. Now.”

Wilson walked right up to her. “Traitor,” he said and spat in her face.

Gabriella didn’t move, but the shock she felt must have been evident on her face. She wasn’t trying to act now.

“I think you’d better apologize for that.”

Gabriella gasped in horror. The voice was Mac’s, and it was coming from behind them.

Zachary and Wilson whirled around.

“Before you turn into bats and try and bite me,” said Mac evenly. “You might want to think about your girlfriend.”

“You can have her,” said Wilson angrily.

“I wasn’t referring to Gabriella.”

The two men froze. Gabriella looked to Mac for reassurance.
He had promised
. But he was staring at the two men.

“My brother has your girlfriend and is keeping her safe,” said Mac, nodding briefly toward Gabriella. “But we need you two to leave peaceably before we release her.”

“Why on earth would we trust you?” asked Zachary, green eyes glowing with anger.

“Because I will vouch for them,” said Gabriella, voice trembling.

Wilson turned to her. “That, bitch, goes for you, too.”

“You will trust them because I say so,” came a fifth voice, a voice of strength and will, one that had overseen this feud since its origins.

Gabriella drew a sharp intake of breath. Her grandmother was standing in the doorway.

Dressed in the long, white dress she mostly wore, the older woman turned to Mac. “You have not harmed her?”

“No, ma’am,” said Mac. “Nor do we want to. I just want to be sure Gabriella is safe.”

“I’m Gabriella’s grandmother,” Angel told him. She looked closely at him. “Do you love my granddaughter?”

Mac and Gabriella looked at each other. “Yes, ma’am,” he said, eyes still on the younger woman.

Angel shook her head. “Yes, I can see that, though I had always thought that it would be my other granddaughter. Gabriella?”
