“What part of drained didn’t you understand,
woman
? Give me a few hours to regroup.” He groaned playfully.

“I don’t want you to screw me in the shower. Just come take a shower with me.” She wanted to experience as much as they could in the time they had left in the room.

“Screw you in the shower? Wow—that sounds so dirty, but in a sexy sort of way.”

“Oh God, I’ve ruined the sweet guy I knew. I’ve changed my mind. Making love with you was the wrong thing to do.” She laughed and turned away.

Nick jumped out of bed and chased her into the bathroom, loving the way she giggled and screamed when he chased her into the shower. “Take it back.” He held her against the tile wall.

“I take it back. Making love with you was the best thing we’ve done. But I’m afraid it has clouded your mind.” She kissed him with a smile.

“Hmm, maybe a little. Everything you say now sounds a little dirty and sexy all rolled into one,” he answered and turned on the shower, drenching them both.

Nick kissed her and then pulled away.

She smiled tenderly at him as he backed out of the bathroom and shut the door.

After her shower, Chloe stood in the bathroom, looking at the bikini she’d gotten. She’d never worn one before and thought she would get it to make his car fantasy come true. It wasn’t as sexy as it could’ve been. The top was like a halter top with the bottoms tied at the sides. But the blue and purple tie dye coloring made her feel sexy in a way. She shook out her hair and giggled. “Nick, I want to show you this bathing suit I got. I’m not sure if I like it.”

“I won’t. I wanted you to get a bikini and you didn’t. Kevin just called. We have about an hour and a half until they get here.”

“I’m really going to miss this place.” She came out of the bathroom and watched him pull on his shirt. “So, what do you think?”

“Well, what if I told you we have it until tomorrow?” He started and then halted when he saw her standing there. A devilish smile appearing on his face. “I’m speechless. God, I love your body.” He put his arms around her waist.

“See, I knew you weren’t going to take no for an answer. You were going to force me up here two nights in a row to try and have your way with me,” she teased.

“It worked on the first night and you seemed to enjoy it the third time, and right before the shower,” he reminded her.

Chloe laughed and hit his arm. Her face got a little red, thinking about it. “I will never admit that,” she said modestly.

“You don’t have to. I have the nail marks on my back to prove it. That and what did you say…?” He laughed as she pushed him down.

“Don’t mock me,” she said as she pinned him against the bed.

He grinned at her. “Never. I love you too much to mock you.”

Chloe looked at the clock. “They’re going to be here soon.” She pointed.

“Yeah, I know. But at least, we’ll have a fun day on the beach and then go back to the room, get cleaned up, and then head to the boardwalk for a while. Then after Kevin passes out, we’ll be back here.”

“What happens when this weekend is over and we go home?” she asked him.

He grinned. “I think we’ll find the time and place. We always have my car.”

“Nicholas, your backseat is too small to do anything in,” she exclaimed.

“I was thinking the front seat, once it is laid back. Come on, it could work?”

Chloe got up and walked away, shaking her head.

Nick caught her and flipped her around.

She was shocked at his abrupt move and she gazed into his dark eyes. “Nick?”

He looked very serious suddenly as he tugged her closer. “I promise to never let you go, no matter what happens.”

Her eyes filled with tears.

“I love you, angel of mine.”

Chloe felt so safe at that moment and knew for true that he would hold onto her forever. “No, you’re wrong.”

He pulled his head back as he looked surprised.

She looped her fingers through his sweet dark curls. “You have been
my angel
all along, Nick.” Chloe kissed him with all the love and happiness she felt, and she knew for the first time in her life, that everything would be all right.
