"Keep it on." His voice was hoarse.
Mirabelle shut her eyes. She'd felt as if she'd been slapped. When she opened
them, Lucien was holding the sheet aside so she could lie down. Everything that
followed was the same as it had been every night before except he barely kissed
her and she turned her head away and cried. Despite her sadness, Mirabelle's
body betrayed her and she arched and moaned against Lucien and let go when he
told her to. She shuddered in his arms and then let him roll her away from him
and pull her against his chest.

"You are so lovely." He sighed as he
kissed her shoulder.

Not lovely enough
, Mirabelle thought as
tears rolled onto the pillow.

Every time she was on the verge of falling asleep,
a line from one of the letters would appear and Mirabelle would jerk awake.
She'd stare at the canopy until her eyes got heavy and she'd drift off only to
wake a short time later with a start. The inky darkness of the night began to
fade. The sun hadn't begun to rise but Mirabelle could feel that it would soon.
She turned towards Lucien.

He'd rolled on to his back; his chest rose and
fell steadily. She watched him as the sky started to lighten. His beauty made
her ache, the sheets had been pushed down and most of his upper body was
exposed. Mirabelle longed to touch him.

Why not? She bit her lip as she surveyed all
that she saw. She used her leg to pull the sheet lower, almost down to his
knees. Mirabelle smiled wickedly as she looked at his cock, lazily resting
against his thigh. Beginning at his collar bone, she carefully brushed her
fingertips along his skin. She let them push through the dusting of hair on his
chest as she traced the muscled contours down to the ridges of his abdomen. As
Mirabelle explored Lucien's body, she felt as if she was touching someone
else's property. Everything she took in with her eyes and her fingertips was
not hers but some other woman's. Defiantly, she continued. Lucien moaned and
shifted slightly. Mirabelle stilled, holding her breath. When his breathing
became relaxed again, she let her hand brush his thigh. He felt so solid
beneath his skin, as if he was carved from marble beneath his warm flesh. She
let her hand trail up his other thigh as she watched him harden. By the time
Mirabelle gently wrapped her hand around his erection, it felt like steel
beneath the hot, delicate skin. She stroked gently and Lucien began to grow
restless. She knew he would wake soon but she didn't want to stop.

            "Mirabelle." Her name left Lucien's
lips as a gasp. She froze for a moment. When he didn't move, she let go of his
erection and carefully pulled back. Mirabelle checked and Lucien's eyes were
still closed. He said her name? She settled back against the pillows. Refusing
to break the contact completely, she rested her hand on his chest. He moaned
her name again and Mirabelle shut her eyes.

A moment later, Lucien woke with a gasp. She
could feel his heart start to pound wildly under her hand. He rested his atop
hers for a moment before he carefully slid it off. He looked at her and cursed
before he stumbled from the bed and rushed into his dressing room.

Was he sick? Mirabelle wondered as she listened
intently. She heard a rhythmic tapping sound and quietly slid from the bed. She
tiptoed towards his dressing room, staying close the wall. The door was cracked
and when she peeked in, her heart stopped. Lucien was stretched in a chair, one
hand wrapped around his erection pumping furiously while the other held his
balls. His eyes were tightly shut and his breath hissed in and out.

"So good! You're so damned good!" He
whispered just before he gasped and stream after stream of fluid shot onto his
stomach. Mirabelle covered her mouth to keep from screaming and backed away.
She tiptoed to the bed and crawled to her side. She faced away from Lucien's
dressing room and forced her breathing to relax. A few minutes later she heard
the door click softly.

That was it. She'd had enough. Mirabelle was
done with feeling unwanted.

Chapter 20

Lucien stared towards the study
window as he waited for Mirabelle to come down for breakfast. Despite having a
mild hangover, he was grateful that the night before hadn't been the disaster
it could have been. He'd felt so aroused and emotional, he'd considered not
going to Mirabelle and staying in his own bed. If he hadn't told her to keep
her nightgown on, Lucien was sure he would have gone too far. He'd awoken with
the hardest morning erection he'd ever had. He'd been so urgent, he'd forgot to
lock the door. He needed to be more careful, it could be disastrous if
Mirabelle caught him.

Lucien looked up to see the object of his
thoughts walk in and shut the door. His eyes widened. He was in trouble.
Mirabelle's shoulders were back and her head was tilted upwards. Her delicate
fists were clenched at her sides. Sweet Lord, she was going to blow if he
didn't handle this right. Whatever this was. She stopped in front of him.
Lucien prayed silently as he looked up at her.

"My love?" He said softly. Mirabelle
flinched and he knew he'd just lit the fuse.

"I'm going to Spencer Place." She
announced and Lucien nodded carefully.

"I'll order a carriage. I think we should
make it just in time." He started to rise and Mirabelle stilled him with a
hand on his shoulder.

"I'm not going for breakfast. I'm taking my
things with me." Her nostrils flared and she pursed her lips. Lucien felt
as if he'd been punched in the gut.

"You're leaving me? Why?" His voice
broke and he reached for her. "Please, tell me what's wrong!" He
pulled her to him. She stiffened in his arms. He looked up at her.
"Mirabelle, please!" He was afraid she'd shut him out like last time.
It had taken so long to break through.

"You don't want me Lucien; you've made that
very clear. I told you I wouldn't be taken for granted. I've had enough."
Her voice was so flat, so cold. Lucien shook his head.

"Of course I want you! Are you mad?"
Mirabelle's eyes flared and she tried to pull away. He wrapped his hands around
her waist, holding her in place as his eyes pleaded. "How could you think
I don't want you?" Mirabelle's jaw dropped.

"Because I'm not stupid, Lucien! I may have
been a virgin but I had a fairly good understanding of what happens in the
bedroom. You barely touch me and you can't stand to look at me. And you flinch
and push me away every time I try to touch you." She dared him to
contradict her. He shook his head.

"No!" He looked at her wildly.
"You don't understand!"

            "I don't? And how could I misunderstand
that you only come to me at night and only do what's necessary in order to get
an heir and that you've rejected every advance I've made?" Her voice shook
and Lucien felt his gut clench. His head fell as guilt welled within him.

"How could I have messed this up so
badly?" He whispered. "You have to believe me. I want you, Mirabelle.
I need you." He pressed his face against her stomach and silently begged
for a way to make everything right.

"Stop, Lucien. I saw the letters." His
head snapped up. Letters? She must have sensed his confusion. She reached back
and slid the top, right drawer open and Lucien felt the color drain from his
face. "I don't know who she is but you won't let her go. She's keeping you
from me and I can't live like that."

"Oh, God! No!" Lucien's voice cracked
and he tried to pull Mirabelle to him. She pushed back. "Please, listen to
me..." She cut him off.

"I saw you this morning." She
whispered. His heart stopped and his hands fell from her. He shut his eyes when
he heard her drag in a ragged breath. "I was right there and I wanted you,
Lucien. I touched you while you were asleep and it felt so wrong because I knew
that you belonged to someone else but I couldn't stop. And then you woke up and
fled from me so that you could imagine you were with her while you pleasured
yourself. So, I have to go. Because if I don't, I'll wonder if you're imagining
her in your arms every time you're inside of me." Mirabelle turned and Lucien's
hand wrapped around her wrist.

            "It's you!" He whispered urgently.

"What?" Her eyes narrowed and she
shook her head. "You can't possibly expect me to believe..." This
time he cut her off.

"I wrote them while you sat on that couch
and read. I wrote them because I could think of nothing else and I couldn't
tell you." Lucien stared into her eyes and pleaded for her to believe him.
Mirabelle started to say something and stopped. She shook her head.

"No. You said you tasted me. I know you've
never..." Her voice trailed away.

"You're on my hands, after I touch you.
When you're not paying attention, I lick every trace of you off of my fingers.
It's why I can barely wait for you sometimes." Lucien's voice was low and
strained with desire. He knew Mirabelle believed him when she trembled. She
leaned against the desk.

"Then why? Why have you withheld so much?
Do you know how disappointed and frustrated I've been? I married "
The
ton's most talented and wicked rake
" only to have him bed me as if it
were a chore."

Lucien raked his hands through his hair and
groaned.

            "I'd never taken a woman's virginity and
I'd never had a wife. I wasn't sure what would be appropriate, I didn't want to
hurt you or offend you."

"I'm fairly certain you've had plenty of
wives, Lucien." Mirabelle whispered.

"Maybe, but all of the ones I've known
were..."

            "Bored and unsatisfied?" She offered.

Lucien fell back against the seat in shock.

"Oh, my God!" He whispered. His eyes
were as large as saucers. "Oh, my God!" If anyone found out that his
wife was unhappy and neglected, he'd be laughed out of society. "Oh, my
God!" Lucien looked up at Mirabelle. If he wasn't so appalled, he'd have
been relieved to see the smile on her face.

"Why would you think you couldn't touch me,
or look at me or do any of the things you wrote about?" She asked gently.

"Because you're you. You're good and pure
and not like any of the women I've been with before." Lucien spanned her
waist with his hands and pulled her against him. She fisted her hands in his
hair and pushed back so that he was looking up at her.

            "Good and pure?" Mirabelle laughed.
"I swear that as soon as you proposed, you began to forget who I am,
Lucien!"

"I'm so, so sorry!" His eyes watered
as she bent down to kiss him. She pressed her lips to his briefly.

"From now on, why don't you just do the
things you want to me and trust me to tell you if I don't like it?"
Mirabelle traced his jaw with her finger and smiled knowingly. Lucien was
speechless and could only nod. Somehow this morning was turning into one of the
best of his life. "I have a feeling that I'll like most of it." She
whispered.

"Are you sure? There are so many things and
I could lose control." Lucien brought her wrist to his lips and began to
suck on the tender skin while he looked into her eyes. They became glazed and
heavy.

            "What were you thinking about?"
Mirabelle asked softly.

"When?" Lucien rubbed his lips against
her palm.

"In your dressing room. What were you
thinking about as you touched yourself?" Her voice wavered and she blinked
drowsily. Lucien knew that she was picturing him and was aroused by what she
saw. His cock strained against his trousers as he leaned forward.

"I had my mouth on you. My head was between
your beautiful thighs and you were riding my tongue." Lucien watched as
her pupils dilated and she licked her lips.

Then, the most amazing, erotic thing Lucien had
ever experienced happened. Mirabelle hopped on the desk and placed her feet on
either side of Lucien, on the armrests of his chair and slowly started raising
her skirt.

"Show me." She demanded as her knees
came into view. Lucien felt lightheaded.

            "Here? Now?" He asked.

"Show me." She repeated as she bared
her thighs. Mirabelle scooted to the edge and leaned back slightly. He groaned
at the sight of her, completely bared before him. "Show me, now."

He slid his hands up her thighs, marveling at
the silken softness of her skin. Lucien looked up to see Mirabelle's eyes close
as she sighed, delighting in the feel of his hands on her skin. How could he
have been that big of an ass? He leaned forward and pressed his lips to the
tender skin on the inside of her knee and let them caress the insides of her
thighs. He dragged them up and down, savoring the feel of her warm flesh
against his lips. Mirabelle's head had fallen back, her breasts rose and fell
rapidly as Lucien made his way closer to the apex. He spread her legs wider so
his shoulders could settle between them. He bit the inside of her leg, just
near her womanhood and she jumped. He laughed softly as he let his teeth graze
her firm flesh.

Lucien looked up and his eyes locked with
Mirabelle's. He breathed in deep and let the smell of her flood his senses. He
groaned.

"You can't know how badly I've wanted
this." He kept their gazes connected as he set his lips against her heated
flesh. She gasped but kept watching.

"I might have an idea." She whispered
breathlessly.

Lucien smiled as he licked up the length of her,
broadly licking her pouting folds. Mirabelle let out a little squeak but was
otherwise still, focused on the glide of his tongue against her. He pressed and
parted her folds and began tracing and exploring from her outer lips, slowly
circling and making his way in. When he found the tiny bud of her desire,
Lucien gently rubbed his lips back and forth against it, not ready to make
Mirabelle urgent. He wanted to savor her, this first time.

His tongue found the hot core of her and lapped
against it, coating his tongue with her juices.

"You taste so good, Mirabelle." He moaned
against her as he continued stroking against her with his tongue. "I've
never tasted anything so sweet in my life." When Lucien looked up, her
lids were heavy and her lips were parted but she was still focused on his
exploration of her.

He made his tongue firm and pressed into her
core. Mirabelle shrieked and grabbed a handful of his hair. Lucien used his
tongue to probe her honeyed tightness, seeking out every drop of her desire.
She started panting and became restless, tugging at her bodice and pulling her
hair. Desperate to taste more of her, Lucien slid a finger into her and stroked
in and out as his tongue lapped at her. Mirabelle sobbed and pressed herself
against his face.

            "Please, Lucien!" She begged. Papers
fell off the desk as she leaned back on her elbows.

"More, my love. I need more." He
pulled both of her legs over his shoulders and tilted her upwards. "I
won't stop until you come with my tongue inside of you." Mirabelle
clutched at her bodice and moaned. Her hands skimmed up her neck and a finger
slid into her mouth, she bit down as she screamed.

Lucien slid another finger into her. He opened
her so his tongue could quest deeper, seeking the source of her sweet nectar.
He'd never been so deep inside a woman and so intoxicated, he was desperate for
every drop of her essence. Mirabelle writhed on the desk and begged. Lucien
loved that she didn't stifle her responses. He paid his staff well enough; they
could pretend to be deaf. Every scream, moan and gasp made his aching cock
throb and swell.

He pulled his tongue from her and pushed it into
her folds until he found the tender knot of flesh. Lucien flicked it and
Mirabelle yelped and jerked. He wrapped his lips around it and began to suckle
as his fingers pressed deep within her. She undulated on the desk, her hips
rocking against his mouth and fingers. A ledger thudded as it landed on the
floor. Lucien curled his fingers upwards while his lips and tongue massaged the
sensitive pearl within her soft folds. Mirabelle bucked against him and gasped
loudly. He increased the pressure of his lips and tongue as his fingers pushed
deeper within her.

"Oohh, Lucien!" She wailed as her
thighs rose and wrapped around his head, pulling him in closer.

Lucien felt need explode within him. His cock pulsed
and throbbed, straining to be inside of the molten depths his mouth and fingers
plundered. The taste, smell and feel of Mirabelle was shredding his control. He
suckled harder and pushed deeper. Her shoulders lifted off the desk and she
gasped for air. Every muscle tensed and she was suspended, body arched, head
thrown back and legs wrapped tightly around Lucien for a desperate moment
before she collapsed upon the desk and began shaking violently.

He withdrew his fingers, lapping, probing and
sucking her release from her as she cried his name, over and over again. Still,
he couldn't leave her. Lucien bathed Mirabelle with his tongue, causing her
body to twist and jerk every time his tongue or lips brushed against her
sensitive flesh.

"Please!" She sobbed as her thighs
trembled.

Finally, he stood, grabbed her by the front of
her bodice and pulled her upright. Mirabelle reached for Lucien's face and
pulled him to her lips. She kissed him and gasped when she tasted her essence
on his tongue. She licked his lips, cheeks and chin ravenously, moaning as she
licked him clean then thrust her tongue into his mouth.
