Man is His Own Worst Enemy

Gunshots are heard, suddenly three men appeared on the street, running away from something. During their chase they are firing rounds, a vague person is following them. Everywhere there is smoke and fog, it is difficult to see him, three men are shooting with their guns at him continuously, but he seemed to be unaffected by those bullets. Only his shadow is visible, his shadow is larger and strange than a common man. Three men reach a blind ended street, they are standing against the wall and firing at him, at his dark shadow. Then there is a loud screaming and then silence follows, with distant sounds of bomb blasts and bullets.

Who were these men and what was their enemy?

Earth the only known planet so far to sustain life. In 2015 it was green and beautiful, birds flying in the blue sky, animals living happily in jungles. Most people were employed and were doing something in order to make a living. There was a variety of food available in the market, everyone could get it.

People were living happily, they used to laugh, and happiness was all around.  But this planet was always in a long journey of terraforming. Its environment was changing slowly. But nature always keeps its balance. Nature was sustaining earth by keeping balance but its tricks, these tricks involved natural disasters like floods and earth quakes. They were meant to keep the balance. Back in 2015 nobody could think of extinction of human race, as there was always a way out.

But who knows what was going to happen next.

Today is 2050, and now the only thing you see everywhere is war, different rebellion groups fighting with each other, there is no law and order. Governments are falling apart. Different organizations and militaries from different countries are killing each other. Everywhere there is bloodshed.

Now you can’t see sky anymore. All you can see is clouds of dust and smoke, you cannot see the stars at night, you see moving lights in the sky at night, but they are airplanes. Smoke is rising from everywhere, there are no more trees, only few forests remains in the whole world and they are on the verge of extinction. Human is the only animal now. Sounds of bomb blasts every few hours, terrorist attacks all over the news. Everywhere there is chaos and disaster. Hopelessness and darkness everywhere. Target killings are at its peak, nations have fallen to war. Earth is destroyed. Life has become difficult. At some places even breathing becomes difficult due to poisonous gases all around.

What has happened? That led to all of this?

Could earth be again like what it was, this question is on everyone’s mind.

Lonely Earth like always had been a victim of human race. Humans always tried to change the environment of earth according to their will. They are cutting down the trees and destroying the Earth from the day he learned to walk on foot. Man was trying to alter Earth from the beginning but he was not so successful until now. But he kept trying day and night. All the wars in the history of mankind were nothing but a wish to impose himself on all the other people for the same purpose. And today it seems that he has succeeded in destroying this world. After all what he has done to bring earth to this situation.

How the transition between these two situations happened.

It was the only man known as Louis McCain, who led the earth up to this situation. Who was this man before, and what he did that led to chaos.

Argument Failed

At the beginning Louis McCain worked in a company known as Hyper Star Electronics. He was just a small employee there. He had many senior scientists at that time, Louis was a man of vision, and he was always up to something. Giving new ideas and inventing new things. He was progressing day by day by inventing new machines and electronics.

In a very short time he became very popular in his company. He launched many new products for the company, he made his company a fortune. Hyper Star Electronics became the top electronics company of the world. From the smallest home electronics to larger machines, electric generators, large factory machines and equipment, jets etc., everything was produced by this company.

One day Louis was working in his lab with his colleague John.

“I have something on my mind, for the last few days” Louis said.

“And what is that Sir” Said John.

“I want to work on the robotics technology” Louis said.

“That’s a great idea Sir, we will work on this idea” Said the John.

His idea of these robots was innovative, what he created in his plan was going to change the world.

These robots were capable to do great things. They were stronger than before; they could be used for labor and hard work, and they had the capability to do all those difficult tasks that a normal man was unable to do. The most important feature in these robots was that these robots could also be used for security purpose as they had the capability of warfare.

Louis was going to propose his idea in the annual meeting of the company. Where the military chief was also invited. He had all the blue prints and plans of action. He was so determined that company will like this idea of his.

On the day of meeting he was so determined that he will be successful in convincing other scientists. Meeting started, after everybody has finished talking. Louis McCain enters. He proposed his ideas of technologies. He gave his arguments. Very few people were supporting him. Many people were opposing him, they gave different logics and facts that this technology will not benefit, rather that it will cause damage to the society. It’s a dangerous technology, people would misuse these robots, and some terrorists may use it against us.

“If we will not do it then somebody else would, in any other country or nation” Dr. John Cullen stood up and said.

And before such day comes they should create an army of Combat Robots, in order to secure themselves and for national security. He gave many reasons and logics but nobody except Louis agreed to him.

Dr. Louis McCain failed the argument, even some of his own colleagues except Dr. John were not supporting him.

“You all are afraid of Robots and androids, you think they will out run you” Said Louis. And then he left the conference hall.

Then one day he became so obsessed with his idea that he broke bad.

“I will do whatever I want to do” He said to himself

He made a secret a lab in his house and started experimenting. Only his friend John was aware with this fact.

“I think you should leave this idea” John Said to him

“No I will do it, this is my whole life’s best plan” Said Louis

He started working on his new invention, which was not approved by anyone.

After many years he progressed so much in his company that he was made the head of all the scientists doing research work. He gained some reputation and power in the company. Again in the annual meeting he proposed an idea, but this time he also wanted to show something. After giving his speech on production of robots and androids he took out a small remote control from his pocket and gave a command.

“Ladies and gentlemen, behold, my greatest invention of life” He said.

And a giant robot entered the conference hall. Everyone was seemed shocked and astonished, it just looked like a man but it was made of steel.

“I can make it far better and I can give it a more human look using silicone implants” He said.

“But I need this company for that” He said.

He made his robot to do some movements there, people were very impressed. After watching such a wonderful invention everyone was afraid, he said that he didn’t need approval from anyone, he will force his idea. And he did, he was like a dictator.

“If anyone dare to cross my path I will destroy him” Louis said.

“Security” The Head of Company Mr. Brown Shouted.

But Louis ordered his robot to take care of them. His Robot in the blink of an eye, disarmed the security personnel and took their guns.

“This company is mine now” Louis Said.

And everyone left the conference room with fear. This shocking news was all over the company.

He also changes the name of company from Hyper Star Electronics to Hyper Star Robotics.

“I am going to call him Lilac” He said while looking at his robot.

He named it after his best friend. Who died at a very younger age. Now Lilac was the only friend of Lois. He took care of anyone coming in the way of Louis. Louis loved him very much. Louis upgrades him with time and gave him more capabilities.

Ever since the invention of Louis McCain the history of earth is revolutionized.

Using these Robots man is destroying this earth ever since he invented them. Till the year 2050, where human race is at its peak to fight the laws of nature.

In the year 2050 technology has been so much advanced that there is even no need for men anymore. Robots and androids are everywhere. Sky is full of supersonic jets and airplanes. And pilots of these jets are not humans but they are Androids. There is no need for roads anymore. Roads accidents do not happen, now accidents happen in the sky.

Men do not go to work anymore because they have Robots working for them. Now there are two kinds of people left on earth one those having androids by their side called Pure Bloods and those who have nothing but poverty at their side called the cursed.

Among these cursed there was a resistance group rising, it was called Zeitgeist. It was a rebellion group and people were starting to see hope in them. But until now this group was a myth. Only stories were famous about them. Nobody has ever seen them until now.

Louis McCain has a big role in all this revolution. He was the head scientist of the Hyper Star Robotics Company. This is the only working robotics company in the whole world now in 2050. He was inventing new technologies day by day. He wanted to change everything in this world with his technology and innovations.

Now there is no discrimination on the basis of religion, culture, color or education. There are just two nations in this surviving world, pure bloods and poor people.

World is like a global village now, rich people travel anywhere they want without having Visa. Now all they need is money and power. They can do anything they like. There is no system of justice. A man who has power and money can do anything he wants, poor people are just victims. And on the other hand poor people do not get anything according to their will. There is unemployment for them because robots are doing their jobs now. 1 out of 1000 persons get a job, and that job is again very tough and very less paying. He can barely get enough for himself. There is no concept of money for poor people anymore. Now all they know about is food which they need to survive.

All the security is now composed of robots. Robots and Droids are the main power now. Whoever controls the robots controls the world. This is exactly the theory of Louis McCain. There are thousands of robots now, in short there is army of robots ready to kill anyone on the push of a button.
