Evening Out
Dancing upon moonbeams I start out for the night
Following glimmering dew drops in the fading light
Prisms of glowing arrows point me in the direction
Songs of the sirens draw me in to start my resurrection
I drink from the babbling brook to help pass the time
Sit amongst the crowded trees and watch this world of mine
The sound of my surroundings start to console me
Making a hypnotic rhythm I hear full heartedly
I wonder what other things might be upon the opposing shore
Finally decide to wonder home for the brook babbles no more
Old Friend
Hello my dear old friend
Good to finally see you again
Come in and have a seat
Relax and put up your feet
Sure has been quite a long while
Glad to see that familiar smile
I could have used you a time or two
When I was feeling down and blue
But those days are no longer here
I do not have the same old fears
So tell me how have you been
Now let’s let the evening begin
As you tell all your stories
It starts to bring back memories
We reminisce about the fun that we had
And don’t mention the ones that were bad
How we used to philosophise
About the troubles in our lives
Or we would just sit there at home
Just talking all on our own
Sometimes we would go down town
Then start the running around
Cause some trouble and have some fun
We sure knew how to get the job done
