“Take me to the bedroom,” Kat whispered flirtatiously. “I want you to take me from behind.”
Kat’s words shocked even her. She was asking for what she wanted with no hesitation whatsoever. She felt like a different person and she loved it. She stood up and AJ got up from the couch, grabbing her hand and leading her to the insanely large bedroom. In the center of the room, located against the back wall, was a king size bed with a sleek glass bedframe. Kat walked swiftly up to the bed and crawled onto it, looking over her shoulder at AJ. She bit her bottom lip as she bent in front of him as if to say
‘Don’t keep me waiting.’
AJ looked her over as he positioned himself behind her. There was lust in his eyes, as he grabbed her by both hips and pressed into her all the way. Kat’s lips parted as she cried out in pleasure. AJ was in control now. His pace was fast and aggressive, exactly how Kat had hoped he’d be in this position.
“Like this?” AJ asked, seeking her approval.
Kat just nodded in agreement and managed to get out a “yes, like that.” It seemed that he was so concerned with her pleasure, something no man had ever done for her before.
This is amazing,
Kat thought, as she reached up and grabbed a pillow, burying her face in it in an attempt to muffle her moans of passion.
God, he’s so hot.
Their bodies rocked as AJ pumped into her. Pulses of ecstasy continued to fill Kat’s body and it wasn’t long before she rose to orgasm. Her moans got louder and louder until finally, she peaked at the top of the intensity, letting out a final squeal. Her hands and legs trembled and she finally opened her eyes to look back at AJ. He was covered in a light layer of sweat. His chest hair was wet, making him look masculine and sexy as his muscles rippled with his movements.
“I want to look at you,” Kat said, in between panted breaths.
She flipped over without asking permission. She laid on her back and spread her legs to him. In a flash, he was back inside. He leaned over Kat and they kissed for a moment, as he slowly increased his pace. When he pulled away, he brought Kat’s knees over his shoulders, giving her the perfect view of his amazing body as he made love to her. The sheen of sweat over his skin accentuated the muscles of his abs and chest, causing Kat to practically drool as she watched him.
“Yes,” AJ whispered. “Just like this.”
His pace quickened and suddenly, the expression on his face began to change. He closed his eyes and his lips curled up into a pleasurable grimace. His cheeks flushed and the muscles in his shoulders flexed. Kat reached forward and pulled him deeply into her as she felt AJ swell.
“Oh, yes,” she moaned. “Please come.”
There was a quivering sensation from AJ as he found release. She imagined that she could feel herself fill with his warm fluid, even though she knew that the condom caught all of it. Still, the biological urge was there. He kept pumping, breathing fast even as the moment faded. Time seemed to stand still for a minute or so, as the intensity of the moment slowly died down.
“You are so amazing,” he whispered.
They stayed in that position for a bit longer and Kat admired him, moving her hands up and down his forearms, enjoying those final moments of sex. As she could feel him begin to soften, he finally pulled out, causing her to gasp one last time. She watched as he carefully pulled the condom off, quickly tying it in a knot before putting it in the trash.
He walked to the other side of the bed, gently spooning Kat. She felt his cock press against her leg, already wishing it were back inside of her.
He wrapped an arm around her, hugging her tighter. “What do you think about a shower?” he purred in her ear.
A shower with this gorgeous man sounded good, but Kat was suddenly so tired and so comfortable here that all she could do was make an “mmm mmm” sound. She couldn’t keep her eyes open. She was so content. Her desire had been quenched and AJ had turned out to be a better lover than she could have imagined.
As she fell asleep, she knew that this was the best night of her life. Maybe the meeting of Fun Kat and Mr. Sexy-wink was a connection that was written in the stars. Or maybe Kat had finally just relaxed enough to have a real night of fun for once. Regardless, she slept soundly next to him, pressing her back against the muscular chest of the man who had swam the English Channel.

he’s beautiful
,
AJ thought to himself as he watched the woman next to him shift into her pillow. She was snoring slightly, and instead of finding it annoying like he usually did, he found it adorable.
Which meant he liked her.
He turned on his side to watch her. A strand of dark brown hair fell gracefully across her cheek. He reached out and gently tucked it back behind her ear. She smiled and something deep in his chest responded.
He wasn’t sure if he should smile or run from the bed screaming. This wasn’t how a man should feel after a one night stand. It certainly wasn’t what he was expecting, though she was amazing. Beautiful, sexy, fearless, funny, and sweet.
He felt like a thesaurus, yet it didn’t faze him. There weren’t enough words in the English language to adequately describe the woman sleeping next to him. And he’d only known her for a few hours. The idea of spending more time with her actually excited him. She was different than the usual heiresses and aristocrats that he usually dated.
If she wasn’t so damn cute sleeping, he’d wake her up, ask her for her phone number, and plan a second date right now. He was already planning on pulling out the helicopter and taking her to the best seafood restaurant in the state. She’d love it.
He knew he had a phone call to make. He dialed a number. It didn’t even ring once before his secretary picked up. “Sir?”
“Cancel my meetings for tomorrow,” he said, keeping his voice only a whisper so that he wouldn’t wake Kat.
“Is there a problem?” she asked.
He grimaced. He had never quite cleared the slate like this, but he didn’t want to let this opportunity pass him up. “There’s no problem, really. I appreciate you checking, but please just do as I ask. Thank you.” He hung up without waiting for a response.
That left him with more free time than he had in the past ten years. A full day off. He grinned at the idea of watching her eyes widen in surprise at the elaborate date he was planning. He’d wow her and have her back in his bed tomorrow. In fact, hopefully he’d be able to have her every night this week. She was exactly the distraction that he needed right now.
AJ leaned back and ran his fingers through his hair as he took a deep breath. She’d managed to make him forget his problems for the night. The moment he touched her, his shoulders relaxed and his blood pressure had dropped. He’d even managed to not think about work for over three hours.
Which, given the scandal and issues going on, basically made her magic. It had been weeks since anyone had managed to make him smile like she did. Until they started dancing, he had been pretty sure that he had lost the ability to smile completely, let alone feel actual joy.
She sighed softly and snuggled into her pillow. Something deep in the pit of his chest warmed and he resisted the urge to wrap her up in his arms and kiss her, lest he wake her.
He had needed this. He had needed a night of fun, and the fact that Kat was so amazing only made it better. He certainly hadn’t been expecting anything in coming to this wedding. His original plan was to just go to the ceremony, and then to the reception long enough to have a drink and smile for a picture. That was more than enough time for all the guests to hound him and ask him questions about his business that he didn’t want to, and couldn’t legally, answer. An appearance at an employee’s wedding, to hopefully restore some public good will, was all he had intended.
Instead, he met her, and this was possibly the best wedding he’d ever attended.
She murmured, frowning in her sleep, and he realized he had tensed up, thinking about his business. She was responding in her sleep to him, and that fact alone endeared her further to him. How was it she was so perfect?
“Go back to sleep,” he murmured, leaning over and kissing her brow. Her dark hair spilled across the pillow as she relaxed under his touch. He liked that she apparently responded to him as much as he did to her.
He watched her sleep, trying to find the same tranquility and failing. Now that his mind was on it, he couldn’t shake the tension of his business. The lawyers. The fighting. The media and the drama. It was all just a swirling dark cloud that he couldn’t seem to escape.
The scandal revolving around his business partner, Paul, was out of control. Every news station was running something about it. The board of directors, the investors, and his designers were all looking to him to solve this.
AJ was ready to strangle Paul. A murder would probably be easier to deal with at this point. Either way, Paul’s secretary was going to be a very, very wealthy woman because Paul couldn’t keep his hands or his ego to himself.
So were the mail girl, the coffee clerk, and at least two other female employees. Very, very wealthy.
The worst part was that none of it was AJ’s fault. None of it was the company’s fault. There was nothing about what Paul did that actually tied back to Shoesy, Inc. It was all Paul, yet AJ and his company were the ones suffering for it. The sex scandal was becoming synonymous with the Shoesy brand, and that was the last thing AJ wanted.
Share prices were falling and the board was looking to AJ to fix it.
Kat mumbled in her sleep, her brow furrowing again. He was tensing again. He forced himself to take a deep breath and relax.
Kat didn’t have anything to do with his company. She was just friends with the bride. It was pure luck that he was the bride’s employer. Good luck. Fantastic luck.
He could date her. He could have a moment of peace and happiness, because Kat was in no way related to the business scandal taking over his life. A girl who wasn’t related to his company was exactly what he needed.
This was better than anything he could have hoped for.
He reached over and smoothed the lines on her brow with his hand. She leaned into his touch and smiled in her sleep.
Definitely better than anything he could have hoped for tonight.

at woke
up in the dark hotel room. She glanced over at the hotel alarm clock to read the green number seven and two zeros.
Thanks, internal alarm clock,
she thought to herself.
I
was
allowed to sleep in today.
She tried to close her eyes and go back to sleep, but she knew it was futile. She was up. With a sigh, she officially opened her eyes.
It took a moment for her to focus in the dark of the curtained room, but she found herself smiling at the sleeping form of the man next to her. He was still as attractive in the morning as he was last night, which was pretty amazing for something that was supposed to be a one-night stand.
She grinned and wondered if he had any plans for today. If she was lucky, the two of them could hang out and get to know one another better today. The idea of sleeping with someone and then getting to know them was so different than what Kat usually did that the idea tickled her.
Fun Kat was way better at picking guys than Regular Kat. For the first time in a long time, Kat had let herself just be free.
And now, she was in bed with a crazy hot man who she was hoping to get to know better.
She loved it. It was the best feeling ever.
Kat decided to let him sleep while she freshened up. They would have all day together if she had her way. She slid from the soft sheets and walked confidently to the closet. Fun Kat didn’t need to wrap a sheet around herself or be self-conscious around a sleeping man. Inside the closet, she found a fluffy white robe with the hotel’s initials emblazoned on the chest.
Kat cursed as her phone started to ring.
She darted across the room, grabbing her purse and hitting answer as fast as she could so that she wouldn’t wake the sleeping man. Just because her body decided it needed to wake up at its regularly scheduled time didn’t mean he needed to as well.
“Hello?” she whispered, hurrying into the big bathroom and closing the door behind her. The whisper echoed off the marble tiles, so she stuffed a towel against the door to muffle the sound.
“You have to come into work today,” Cassie informed her.
“What?” Kat nearly hung up on her boss. “No.”
Cassie sighed. “I’m really sorry, Kat. I am. But we need you today. I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.”
“Why?” Kat plopped down on the edge of the big bathtub and pouted. If Cassie wasn’t such an awesome boss and friend, she would have hung up on her and pretended this phone call had never happened.
“Mr. Jacobson, the CEO of this company and only hope for this project, canceled all his meetings today,” Cassie explained. “I’m sure you can imagine the chaos that causes in his scheduling, and now you’ve been rescheduled to present the project in two weeks.”
“Two weeks?” Kat nearly screamed. “But I had four weeks. I need four weeks! It isn’t even close to ready yet!”
“I’m sorry, Kat,” Cassie said softly. “I really tried to reschedule, but that is honestly the only time I could get. You don’t know what I had to do just to make it two weeks instead of one.”
“How is it even possible he can do this?” Kat asked, pinching the bridge of her nose with her fingers. “It’s not even close to fair.”
“He’s a billionaire.” Kat could practically hear Cassie shrug over the phone. “He can do whatever the hell he wants. We work at the mercy of his schedule. It’s take this meeting or wait another six months for another one.”
“We can’t afford to wait that long.” Kat’s brain was already starting to hum with numbers and lists for what needed to be done. She’d worked too hard on this project already, and honestly it was a career-making idea. There was no way she was going to let anything happen to it. “Are you sure I have to come in today?”
“Only if you want this project to happen,” Cassie replied. “Renee isn’t answering her phone, and it’s her honeymoon. It’s just you and me to get this done.”
Kat groaned. She should have just not answered her phone, too.
“I need you to know there is a really,
really
handsome man sleeping in the next room right now that you are going to make me leave,” Kat informed Cassie. “
Really, really
handsome.”
“Thor-level handsome?” Cassie asked.
“Better. The body of Michael Phelps and the eyes of Paul Newman,” Kat replied.
“Wow,” Cassie whistled. “Young or old Paul Newman?”
“Does it matter?”
“Not really,” Cassie admitted. “He was an attractive man at all points in his life.”
“This guy makes Paul Newman look average.” Kat opened the bathroom door and peeked out at the sleeping man. The sheet had slipped down his chest, revealing his perfect six-pack and chiseled body. Kat’s mouth watered instinctively.
“Damn,” Cassie said, voicing Kat’s thoughts without even having to see him.
“You sure I have to come in?” Kat whispered, unable to pull her eyes away from the gorgeous sleeping man.
“Only if you want to keep your job,” Cassie answered. “I’m sorry. It’s not my call. I just don’t know any other way to fit four weeks of work into two.”
“No, you’re right.” Kat closed the bathroom door and sagged into it. All her beautiful plans for the day faded. This was back to just being a typical one-night stand. Or at least what Kat assumed was a typical one-night stand as she’d never had one before.
She could feel Fun Kat melting away.
