Val narrowed her eyes with confusion. “Honey, do you have a fever or something?” She reached across the table and placed her palm against Marissa’s forehead. “The man is sexy as hell. I bet it wouldn’t take you long to get him into bed. Put on one of those tantalizing corsets you model and go for it.”

Marissa bit her tongue to keep from telling Val she’d already gone for it. “Can we talk about something other than my bodyguard? We haven’t seen each other in a long time. Let’s catch up.”

The waiter returned with their drinks. Their conversation turned to other things and after an hour, they ordered dinner. Occasionally Marissa sneaked a glance at Beau. He hadn’t moved from his spot at the bar. Still drinking beer, he had eaten a hamburger long ago and was munching on pretzels now.

“Hey, I love that Luke Bryan song. Let’s dance!”

Before Marissa could respond, Val scooted back her chair and went to the dance floor. Her friend didn’t hesitate in maneuvering right into the middle of the others, twisting, and gyrating to
Country Girl
. The wood floor was crowded with women who were giving their all to the popular song. Tantalizing their men who were on the sidelines like cheerleaders, encouraging them with drunken enthusiasm. Marissa got to her feet and decided to join Val. She loved to dance and could already feel the music running through her veins.

She was conscious of Beau’s gaze following her. The knowledge that they’d already fucked once fueled the need to tease him into arousal again. It seemed only fair, considering she was horny for a repeat. As soon as she found her way to Val, she began to move her body in tune to the music. Quickly losing herself to the seductive power of the popular song.

“I knew you couldn’t hold out!” Val all but screamed.

Marissa was soon gyrating and swaying seductively like the others. She ran her hands down her curves, moving her hips sensuously, moving her head so that her long hair flew around her. Then she put her hands under her hair at the back of her neck and lifted it up, purposely facing Beau. He’d swung around on his bar stool and was facing the dance floor now, his gaze fixed on her in a hungry way. She smiled and released her hair to let it fall around her, knowing she was goading him, and that he couldn’t do anything about it.

With eyes half closed, she parted her lips and moved her hands over her body in a caressing way. It didn’t take Marissa long to put herself in another place. Music often did that to her. It renewed her tired body, made her feel alive, and energized again. She moved as if she was the only one there. What was that saying? Dance like no one is watching. She moved freely and wildly, letting the county song consume her soul, letting it make love to her senses. She momentarily forgot where she was until the song ended and the beat throbbing in her blood stopped.

Breathing heavy, Marissa stopped and opened her eyes. Beau was standing in front of her. She gasped and stepped back. A mask of angry arousal twisted his features. The look in his eyes was frighteningly predatory. Another song started, something slow and mellow. She looked around for Val, finding her in the arms of a man, swaying to the new melody.

          “Dance with me.”

Beau didn’t give Marissa a choice. He took her into his arms, crushed her against his hard body, and slowly began to move. She didn’t really want to resist him. Her blood was still pulsing from
Country Girl
, and being in his strong arms made her feel vibrant. The subtle friction of his chest against her nipples caused them to rise and harden, and that in turn caused a pleasant flutter that traveled down to her pussy.

“Did you enjoy teasing me?” His voice was close to Marissa’s ear, his hot breath sending a shiver down her spine.

She decided not to deny it. Savoring her power over him. “Yes.”

“Well I hope you enjoy the consequences.” It was a threat, clear and simple.

She laughed, wondering what he could do to her in a public place. Then she caught her breath when Beau wedged his leg between hers. With every step they took, her tingling pussy was captive against his hard thigh. And there was no denying his cock was hard, moving against her, letting her know he was just as stimulated. She moaned softly and arched into him, lost, wishing her clit could get the same action. She closed her eyes and let her senses go with the wild emotions churning inside her. It shocked her to the core that she wanted him to make her come, right there on the dance floor.

“No!” she gasped, pulling slightly away from Beau, because suddenly it was possible, and that scared the crap out of her. She began to look around, hoping no one was paying them any attention while cursing her temporary madness.

The bump and grind they were doing might have been in sync with the music, but it was no less effective to her libido. He started to force his thigh up against her pussy so hard that her aching clit began to reap the benefits. The pressure inside her began to build. She closed her eyes, but all that did was emphasize the crazy situation between them.

“I told you I don’t play games,” He grated, as if sensing Marissa’s turmoil.

Yes, he had. But it didn’t really matter now. Marissa was beyond caring. She was aroused and coming was the only thing on her mind. She let Beau extract his particular brand of punishment on her, whimpering as a powerful orgasm brewed inside her, twisting her emotions. Her breathing escalated and she braced herself, trembling wildly against him. Just as she was about to let go the music stopped, and Beau stepped away from her.

Noooo! She almost fell to her knees.

“Let me know when you’re ready.”

Ready?
She was ready now, damn him! Her jaw dropped open with disbelief. She stood there, shaking, on the very pinnacle of climaxing, and he calmly walked away?
Bastard!
It took Marissa a few seconds to realize she was still standing on the dance floor while everyone else had returned to his or her table. Beau made it back to his stool, where he picked up his beer and took a long swallow. Even from her distance, she could see the tick in his jaw.

“He is a big one,” Val remarked when Marissa made her way back to their table on unsteady legs.

“A big jerk,” Marissa hissed, knowing immediately Val was talking about Beau.

Val laughed. “I think you’ve met your match, sweetie.”

Marissa frowned. She didn’t want to hear the truth and played stupid. “What? I don’t know what you mean.”

Her friend shrugged. “I watched the way he was moving against you. You think you’re the only woman that’s been danced to an orgasm?”

Marissa could only stare at her friend, until her words sank in and understanding dawned on her. She smiled reluctantly. “Well, that was a first for me and the big jerk walked away just at the crucial moment.”

Val glanced at Beau. “Oh, he definitely knows what he’s doing, girl. That’s part of the fun. Wait until later, when he gets around to finishing. You’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven. It will be the most intense orgasm you’ve ever have. You remember Jeff back in college? Well there was this one day when he kept teasing me to the brink. He must have done it ten times and when I finally climaxed…”

Drinking turned Val into a little chatterbox. Marissa knew once she got going there was no use trying to keep up. She ordered another Bloody Mary and sat back with a smile. But her smile quickly vanished when she noticed a woman join Beau at the bar. They struck up a friendly conversation, and when he bought the woman a drink Marissa decided it was time to leave.

“Val, it’s been great catching up with you but I think I’m ready to leave. You’re not driving, are you?”

“Oh no. I took a cab here.”

“Then why don’t we take you home?” Marissa stood up.

Val shook her head. “I’m not ready to leave yet. And besides,” She glanced at the man she’d been dancing with earlier. He was sitting at the bar across from Beau, just staring at them. “I think I have a ride home.” She motioned him over.

“Well okay then. Let’s get together again before I leave Texas.”

          “Okay honey. Call me.”

That was the same thing Marissa heard the woman at the bar saying to Beau when she walked up to him. He accepted the card the woman handed him, and got to his feet when he noticed Marissa move up behind him in the mirror.

“I’m ready to go home, honey.” Marissa wrapped her arm around his. Beau frowned down at her, his eyes narrowing. She batted her eyelashes at him. “Unless there’s something keeping you here?”

Beau turned to the other woman seated at the bar. “I’ll be in touch.”

“New girlfriend?” Marissa asked while they were walking away. “Pretty.”

“Client,” he said abruptly. He opened the club door for her.

“Thank you.” It seemed like all of a sudden they were polite strangers. “I suppose you know where my place is.”

“Yep.” He opened the hummer door for her, assisted her in, and closed it.

Marissa watched him walk around the hood to the driver side. She was tired and looking forward to a long shower and bed, and since Beau didn’t seem to be in a talking mood she laid her head back and closed her eyes.

She didn’t intend to fall asleep, but that’s what happened.

Chapter 5

Beau parked his hummer, switched off the ignition, and turned to look at Marissa. Sleeping, she looked like an angel. Huh! The lady was a she-cat. He took a deep breath. She was going to be pissed when she woke up to see that he hadn’t taken her home, but to his ranch instead. Maybe he should just let her sleep. No, knowing how obstinate she was, when she woke up she’d probably start walking back to town.

His quiet gaze ran over her. Even in sleep, she stirred something deep inside him.  He contributed it to lust. His palms itched to cup her large breasts. He wanted to tease her nipples until they were swollen and hard, taste their sweetness with his tongue. She’d teased him mercilessly on the dance floor. He’d set out to turn the tables on her, suffering the consequences just as much. The lady was a nuisance, but damn, she was the perfect fit for him in so many ways.

He’d been hard since meeting the curvy blonde, and one taste of her made him want her again. It wasn’t often Beau met a woman who could take him on without having to worry about hurting her in some way. Christ! Recalling how he’d pounded into her earlier, his cock was hard and throbbing now. He lifted his butt off the seat, reached down, and rearranged it. But it didn’t help. What he wanted was sitting beside him, snoring lightly and clueless to his predicament.

He shook his head, annoyed for letting his thoughts run away with him. No sense in prolonging it. He reached over and gave Marissa a nudge. “Wake up, beautiful, we’re home.” She stirred very little and moaned something unintelligible beneath her breath. “Marissa, wake up, we’re home.” This time Beau raised his voice when he nudged her.

“Okay, okay,” she mumbled with irritation. “Keep your pants on, cowboy.” She yawned and fumbled for the door handle. “Thanks for the ride home.”

He was surprised she made it out of the hummer before it dawned on her where they weren’t.

“Where the hell are we?” She looked around with a frown between her eyes. “Are we at a ranch?” She put her hands on her hips in a challenge that only amused Beau. “Why?”

“Because it will be safer here.” He walked around the vehicle to join her. “This is my place. Kirk is the only one who knows where you are.”

“I think you and Kirk have forgotten that I’m not a child.”

Beau’s gaze roamed down her body slowly. He ignored her sound of annoyance. By the time they made eye contact again, he realized he was facing a wound up tigress. “There’s no way I’d ever mistake you for a child, honey.” He saw her hand coming with enough time to catch it in mid-air. He pulled her sharply against him and she caught her breath. “Relax. I happen to like a woman with meat on her bones.”

To both their surprise he lowered his head and kissed her roughly, thoroughly. She resisted, but it didn’t last long. As soon as he curled his arm around her waist, she relaxed against him and kissed him back. He smiled inwardly, deciding to take his time.

Her mouth opened to his probing tongue and then they were exploring the warm secrets of each other’s mouths. Sounds of hunger surrounded them in the darkness and fueled Beau’s need for more. Her soft body was pliant in his arms, and he took advantage by exploring her curves with long, sweeping caresses. The feel of her fully rounded ass beneath his hands, the smooth curve of her hips and waist, and the fullness of her breasts kept his cock hard and pounding behind his zipper.

With a growl, he turned Marissa and pushed her up against the hummer. Their caresses became wild with hunger. They seemed to be racing toward the same thing. Marissa’s hands went to the edge of his shirt behind his back. She inched her way beneath the material to his bare skin. Fire licked his flesh where her hands touched him, moving up his back to his shoulders and then down again, lightly leaving her mark on him with her sharp nails.
