Jenna couldn’t speak for a few seconds and when she did, the words were hoarse and clipped. “We’re gonna burn…the house down.”

Ross kissed her neck and rolled off her to flop onto his back. He laughed. “Or fuck ourselves to death. I’m assuming this will ease up at some point, but I can’t imagine that happening for a long, long time.”

Dorian put his hand on her stomach and she glimpsed how hard he was out of the corner of her eye. “Well, it’s not gonna ease up for a few more minutes at least.” She sat up, kissed him, then pushed him onto his back. He still smelled of the sandalwood oil she’d rubbed into him the night before after they’d showered and as she moved down his body, she smiled and nuzzled, kissed and tasted. She took his cock into her mouth and sucked him in the firm, wet, slippery way he liked, loving the low sounds he made in his throat.

She opened her eyes and found Ross watching with heavy-lidded eyes. “I wish we didn’t have to make this trip, but I’m glad we are.”

Jenna closed her eyes and concentrated on making Dorian squirm. She didn’t want to think about being out in the cold yet.

“Damn, that’s hot to watch,” Ross whispered.

Dorian, reduced to guttural noises, murmured in agreement.

“I used to sometimes hear you two making love,” Ross continued, voice low and deep. “I never resented your relationship, but there were times those sounds kept me awake and jerking off most of the night. I told myself I wanted someone for me and I looked every time I went out.”

Jenna slowed her movements but kept them steady as she listened.

“But the truth is, I wanted you.
Both
of you.” He rolled onto his side and stroked his hand down Dorian’s chest.

Jenna held still for a moment.

“Don’t stop,” he whispered. “Seriously, it’s fucking hot just watching.”

She smiled around Dorian’s cock before wetting her lips and swallowing him deep. His muscles tensed and he groaned.

“Damn, Dorian,” Ross said. “You get some of the best expressions on that pretty face of yours.”

Black eyes suddenly narrowed at Ross. Dorian hated to be called pretty. Jenna knew Dorian wanted to say something, but the man could hardly get more than two words out of his mouth once pleasure took him over. She held on to him with her mouth and reached down so she could lightly scrape her nails up the insides of his thighs and cup his balls. He was so, so sensitive there and his body bowed as if he were in pain—only he wasn’t. He shouted as he released into her mouth before he collapsed back down to pant at the ceiling.

Jenna crawled to the other side of Ross and pulled up the heavy, blue comforter over all three of them before curling against his back. She felt him tug Dorian close to his other side and sigh.

“I’d like to get one thing straight before we take this trip with Cadmar.” Ross reached one hand back to rest on her hip. “Just so you both know, I expect you to stay focused and safe because if anything happens to either of you, I don’t want to go on.”

“Don’t say that,” Jenna whispered. “And don’t worry so much. Just because it’s been awhile since the three of us were on the road doesn’t mean Dorian and I can’t remember how to stay safe.”

“You have no choice but to stay safe,” Ross whispered. “I want to wake with you both for the rest of my life.”

Jenna lightly kissed his back. “We want that too.”

Dorian stretched before curling on his side under the covers. He draped his arm around Ross’s middle, resting his hand on Jenna’s waist.

Ross sighed. “The year after the Crux took my family and everyone I knew, I was sure I was going to be alone forever. All these years I’ve been so thankful that I walked into that basement. For the longest time, I tried to think of you two as my responsibility—not think of you this way.”

Jenna tightened her fingers. “Ross, we grew up together. There’s only a five-year difference in our ages.”

“Yeah, but because I was older, I felt responsible. A few years ago, when I started to feel differently about you, the guilt nearly killed me.”

Dorian cleared his throat. “I saw it. Hated it. Wish I’d said something back then. Wish I’d moved to change all this then.”

Jenna sat up, shivered, but stayed there so she could see both of them. She shook her head. “No, don’t say that. Think about it. It’s good that it happened this way. I’m so glad it did. It feels right and who knows? Maybe a few years ago this would have made all of us feel too weird. I like this—like the way we feel together now, so no regrets.”

“Okay.”

“Okay.” Dorian echoed Ross.

She lifted an eyebrow. “Why do I get the feeling you guys would agree to anything I said right now?”

“We have the best view.”

“The best,” Dorian agreed.

Both men were staring at her bare breasts and laughter bubbled into her throat as she draped herself over both of them. “Damn, show a little tit and a woman can get anything she wants.”

“Should we go on letting her think she has that kind of power?” Ross asked Dorian.

Dorian, laughing, pulled the comforter over them. “Sure. Because she does.”

Jenna nestled in, knowing she was going to miss this bed, but also knowing with all her heart that they were doing the right thing. The outcome of their trip was uncertain, they could be walking into a horrifying situation, but the three of them had survived so much. They’d survive this, too—help that family, and then come back here to continue making a life. A beautiful life. Together.

Spaceship captain Lux Moyans is currently piloting missions for The Company. When her second-in-command, Kol Frega, informs her they’ve been ordered to Kithra, she’s furious. A year on an uninhabitable planet? She’ll only be flying supply missions! But her ship—Kol’s design—is the only one that can withstand the planet’s gases…and Lux is one of the few pilots with the skill to navigate the debris fields resulting from the explosions that killed most of the planet’s Gwinarian race.

Kol is the engineer who learned to manipulate the indestructible metal on Kithra, and he and a surviving Gwinarian will be her only company on planet. When they pick up Egan Lothbrun, Lux knows there will be trouble. She’s already attracted to Kol and she doesn’t need another man to arouse her either mentally or physically. Lux doesn’t want or need the complications that emotions bring. Yet, when she learns Kol and Egan share a painful past, she realizes getting Kithra livable won’t be her only challenge.

Keeping her heart intact might be harder.

Kithra:

We had a problem. Or, I did. As I watched the Gwinarian walk up the docking ramp, I knew without a doubt that this stretch of Kithra time would be hell. Something was already brewing between Kol and me, but one look at this guy had my mouth watering.

I glanced at Kol to see if he’d noticed. He wasn’t taking his eyes off the Gwinarian either.

Not that I blamed Kol. The humanoid alien was taller than us, lean like me and he moved with the grace of a dancer. His hair—that Gwinarian rust red that humans paid a fortune to copy—hung loose and long. His grin was friendly, his amber gaze direct. He strolled up the ramp with a bag slung over one shoulder, somehow managing to bring brightness to the air despite the gun metal gray surroundings of the noisy supply station. A hovercraft zoomed past, an old model that spit out oily fumes. I waved a hand at the smoke so it didn’t mar my sight of the alien. I’d only met one Gwinarian in the past and she’d been like this. Bright. Chipper. Gorgeous.

She’d gotten on my every damn nerve while we’d been at the academy together.

This male picked at altogether different nerves. I didn’t squirm, but I did hold my breath, then let it out when he met my gaze. My first impression, after getting past the pretty, was he possessed a very, very strong will. I’d never seen amber eyes before and I knew I was staring like an idiot, but that direct gaze showed me in no uncertain terms that he considered no one above him in rank. And he didn’t run his eyes down my body, though the roguish grin I’d noticed first made me think he’d be one of those types.

And oh man, I wouldn’t mind getting wild with this guy.

His friendliness took a back seat as his gaze went to Kol, his expression turning serious. “Kol.” He nodded at the other man.

Kol hadn’t moved, hadn’t spoken. He drew in a ragged breath, so I whipped my head around to find him leaning against the wall, his normally dark skin kind of pasty-looking.

“Egan,” he whispered.

I waited, but neither man spoke more than that, just stood and stared at each other. All thoughts of partying fled my mind as worry rushed in. I didn’t know Egan, but I did know Kol and whoever this man was, he wasn’t someone Kol wanted to see. “You two apparently know each other and it looks like we got a problem.”

Egan didn’t look at me, gaze still locked on Kol. “There won’t be a problem, right Kol?”

Without warning, Kol flew off the wall to crash into Egan. The taller man’s head slammed onto the edge of the open hatch. He didn’t seem inclined to fight back and instead something gut wrenching passed through his eyes as he grabbed Kol’s arms to keep from falling.

Kol looked like he was struggling to find words and I couldn’t breathe, could only stand there, frozen, and watch as years-old, heavy emotions ripped through both men.

“You’re alive.” Kol bit the words through clenched teeth. He wrapped one hand around the Gwinarian’s throat and I knew the alien could easily fight Kol off. Why didn’t he? That curiosity kept me standing with my back to the cold metal wall. Waiting. I was used to being captain, to settling disputes, giving orders. There would be no captains on this trip. We all held the same rank in the Company. Of course, if they started duking it out, I’d dive in and help.

“If you’d pull your hand off my throat and give me a few minutes to explain?” Egan lifted one hand and slid it onto Kol’s neck. It was an obvious caress. Kol’s black hair had come loose and it fell around the Gwinarian’s hand even as Kol closed his eyes.

Holy shit. Had they been lovers?

Sometimes it takes just one kiss…

“Heard about the council’s proclamation.” Richard’s voice was deceptively soft.

Kylie stiffened. She’d been waiting for one of her patrons to bring it up. When she’d received the news that morning, she’d almost run home to hide under the covers, but she had too much pride for that. “Yeah, you and the rest of the town. Everyone’s talking about it.” She tossed a glass into the sink a little too forcefully and the rim cracked. Swearing under her breath, she fished the pieces out. “I reject it. I’m not a supe. These things don’t apply to me.”
