With a grunt, he picked up the pace. “You’re so beautiful. Smooth golden-brown skin, full breasts so perfect they should be worshipped, a hot, tight sheath to hold my staff. Passion shines from your every pore, Katra. So much that your sharp mind can’t even handle it all.”

“Ah, gods!” She cried out, but he didn’t stop.

Tireless, he continued to slide her up and down his slick cock, making her helplessly receive his invasion. The whole time, he kept his angle just right and his gaze on hers. It was too much. Her sheath began to ripple and clench, and the mounting pleasure scalded her insides like lava. Her nipples grew so sensitive even the brush of air between them sent bolts of pleasure shooting down to her belly button.

“Krux!”

“With me,” he said. “We come together.”

She wasn’t sure she could hold out. And then it was too late. His shaft swelled impossibly fatter just as the crown slapped her second trigger spot and shot deep. Katra’s insides imploded with orgasm and grabbed on to him just as he wedged his cock right against her womb. Climaxing hard, she screamed in relief at the same time that his semen pumped into her in a hot rush. It was only then that she realized he was yelling right along with her.

Her ears were ringing and her eyes nearly closed by the time he slumped back and pulled her down with him. With his cock still tucked between her legs, he hugged her close and kissed the side of her head.

“My Katra,” he murmured sleepily.

The way he said it, she realized the possessive statement was tantamount to a declaration of love. She was getting in really deep with her Brachoi, and that scared her as much as it made her hope and dream.

Not quite ready to say the three little words beating at her mind, Katra responded in kind. “My Krux.”

But she wasn’t sure he heard her. Exhausted from his efforts, he’d already fallen asleep.

* * * *

The next morning, Krux awoke feeling more refreshed than he had in ages. Since it was the weekend, he’d been able to sleep in, and there was nothing like finding a warm, willing woman in bed to perk a guy up. They started fooling around in the bedroom, finished things in the shower, and eventually made it out to the kitchen for a late breakfast. Seated at Katra’s table, he was treated to the sight of her cooking for him before she served him a spicy, colorful omelet that made his eyes roll back in pleasure. A man could get used to this.

When they were done, she led him outside to the back of her house, where he discovered he’d been right about her having a walled garden. Rather than the useless topiary or maze he’d expected, however, he saw she had a full planting of vegetables and herbs. The only concession to sheer ascetics was a large fountain in the center with a stone bench on either side.

Katra sighed contentedly. “I love it out here.”

Krux held her hand as they sat side by side. As he watched her tilt her head up to the warm sunshine, his heart swelled to see the look of bliss on her face. Since she was dressed in a short sundress, most of her body was bared to the open air, and the golden light made her rich skin glow like expensive bronze. He had a flash image of their last class, where he’d noted her lack of tan lines. Ever since then, he’d fantasized about seeing her nude beneath clear skies and bright daylight. Glancing around at the privacy walls, he realized now was his chance.

With a subtle shift of his weight, he angled his body toward her and rubbed her back. He perused her from head to toe before meeting her watchful gaze. She must have read the look in his eyes because she flushed quite prettily. Reaching out, he hooked his finger under the nearest spaghetti strap and slowly slid it off her shoulder. Without breaking eye contact, he kissed the spot where it had just been.

“I have this fantasy.” Krux found the seal running down the back of her dress and began to open it. “You’re spread out naked beneath the honeyed sunlight, revealing all your secrets to my hungry gaze.”

Her answering smile was sultry. “There must be more to it than that. It would have to be a naughty fancy to make you turn so red.”

“Oh, it is.” Unwrapping her like a gift, he peeled her dress down so that she was exposed from her waist up. “You see, it’s really a very primitive fantasy. Before civilization, we were just like any other animal—clad in nothing but our own hide, roaming the wild for food, and mating beneath the open sky.”

“You beast.” She yanked his shirt off over his head.

Krux reached for her breasts while she opened his pants.

“That’s right,” he answered. “And this beast plans to have you. I will stalk you, I will mount you, and then I’ll rut over you in the light of the sun.”

He didn’t dare tell her he’d never made love outdoors before. His people were very open about sex, but Brachoi never engaged in public intercourse unless it was for instructional purposes. Part of him worried she’d balk and rob him of the opportunity. Perhaps he should have known better.

“You’re forgetting something.” Getting to her bare feet, she let her dress slip down to the stone flags.

He shoved off the remainder of his clothes, but stayed seated so he could look up at her. “What’s that?”

Her smile was brighter than sunshine and twice as hot. “You have to catch me first.” She whirled and ran.

Krux’s growl was feral as he took off after her. The backyard garden was large enough to allow a good chase. He watched her naked body fly between staked-out rows, flit behind a trellis, and then duck behind a shade tree in the corner. Lust infused his muscles with vigor, and his erection bobbed excitedly as he ran after her.

Peeking out from her hiding place, Katra winked at him before bursting out into the open again and racing back to the fountain. They circled it half a dozen times, but she was just fast enough to stay ahead of him. His anticipation rose another notch. The sound of their panting filled the garden, equal parts desire and exertion. She wasn’t making this easy for him, and he was glad of it.

Darting in the opposite direction, she leapt a patch of herbs and raced toward the far corner. She squeaked when he cut her off, but she jumped back before he could get his hands on her. Krux was right on her heels as she fled down a furrow between chest-high vegetables. The potting soil was soft beneath his feet, and the rich scent of minerals and dirt mixed with the aroma of herbs. Lunging forward, he grabbed her by her arms and waist and plucked her off her feet.

“Brute! Let me go!” But he knew she didn’t mean it.

Victorious, Krux took her down to the ground on her hands and knees and covered her back. She was so soft and curved and inviting beneath him that he couldn’t wait. Shoving her legs apart with his knees, he gripped her nape and pressed her head down until her top half was pinned to the earth. With her enticing derriere angled high, he pressed his erection to her dripping vagina and plowed into her in one forceful stroke.

Although Katra thought she’d split in two, the shock only added to her pleasure. There was no gradual build-up, no waiting. Slapping his hips against her upturned bottom, Krux took her like the animal he claimed lived inside him.

His grip on her waist was nearly crushing, and he wouldn’t let her up. With her cheek pillowed against the dirt of her garden, the smell of growing things, of life, filled her lungs with every breath. Although he could easily have hurt her with the power in his arms and body, there was no pain. The bruises, if any, were superficial, and nothing but rapture burst between her legs as he pummeled her. He still managed to hit her trigger spots with every stroke.

“Krux!” She keened his name helplessly.

The world seemed to tilt off its axis as he pulled her up so that she straddled his lap backwards. His hands circled her breasts, and she looked over her shoulder to see him staring down at them from his greater height.

“Perfect,” he announced.

Apparently that one glance was all he needed. In the next moment, Katra was back on her hands and knees. He didn’t pin her torso to the ground this time, but instead clasped her shoulders with the same fierce grip he had on her hipbones. Forcefully pulling her back into every stroke, he reamed her without mercy.

The fronts of his thighs were sweaty and coated in their combined fluids where he slammed into her, and she felt overheated beneath the morning sun. Squinting through her tumbled hair, all she could see were the colorful leaves of her plants and the fertile soil beneath her hands. This truly was bestial rutting—sex reduced to its most basic imperative. There were no words, no finesse or technique, just raw, determined humping.

Katra never felt him swell within her, so a few shortened thrusts were all the warning she got that he was about to erupt. Seconds later, he was holding deep, bellowing to the naked sky as he spurted his essence inside her again and again. She felt the hot trickle of it in her core while she convulsed in her own paroxysm of pleasure. Thought, individuality, dignity—all was lost beneath the tide of brutal, pounding orgasm. Her vagina grabbed on to his cock like it would never let go, and the brush of his hands over her nipples made her spasm all over again.

Which was when she realized something. For all the things that irritated her about Krux, she knew she’d never experience this kind of rapture with another man. Not ever.

Damn him. He’d made her dependent on him after all.

Chapter Six

Wagging Tongues

The next afternoon, Krux sat in his home office, waiting impatiently for Katra’s arrival. After their explosive bout of lovemaking in the garden, he’d been both disappointed and bewildered to find himself sleeping alone last night. He’d pulled out of her body and helped her off the ground only to see a look on her face that he couldn’t quite read. At first, he’d been afraid he’d been too rough and hurt her, but she’d assured him that she was all right. He knew he’d brought her great pleasure. Perhaps the intensity of the coupling had simply overwhelmed her? Gods knew he’d been blown away and left a bit shaky.

Although she hadn’t balked when he’d rubbed her back and helped her dress, she’d still worn a slightly lost expression that had aroused his protective instincts. The rest of the morning, he’d lavished her with soothing words and reassuring kisses until she’d appeared to relax. But she still hadn’t let him stay. Insisting she had things to do, Katra had sent him on his way shortly after lunch, successfully ousting him only after she’d promised to come over to his place tonight. His sexy little Duosien certainly kept him on his toes.

Killing time while he waited for her, Krux called Quinn to confirm he was modeling for the next class. After wooing Katra to his bed, he’d decided to take a little revenge on the men who’d slept with her last week. He could picture their abashed expressions when he did what they’d failed to accomplish and satisfied his Duosien in front of the whole room. Sure it was a bit petty, but he was entitled to feel boastful.

“We’ve posted the topic,” Quinn assured him. “The focus will be on Brachoi physiology and sexuality since we already covered the Duosien female last week. However, I think it would be great to demonstrate a successful coupling with Katra’Ruma. Xindra and I felt uncomfortable with how things ended last time. We’d like to see a positive resolution—emphasize that interracial couplings can work when the right chemistry and understanding is there.”

Krux agreed. “Sounds good.”

“Let me know when you want to train with me,” Quinn added. “You wanted to concentrate on weight lifting and other strength training, right?”

He nodded at the screen. Since he’d been offered some free training in trade for modeling, he’d opted for the kind of workout he usually did on his own. He wouldn’t mind learning some new routines to pep things up.

“I’ll have to check my schedule when I get to the office tomorrow,” Krux said. “I’ll get back to you on the timing.”

After exchanging a few more words, they signed off.

Switching his vid screen to download mode, Krux brought up a display of today’s news in basic text and graphics. Some of his stocks, he noted, were doing well, the weather was predicted to stay fair, but his favorite sports team had met with a crushing defeat. He figured two out of three wasn’t bad.

Using manual controls, he then scrolled through the Society section and nearly passed it when one of the photo captions caught his eye. His gaze narrowed when he read it:

“Wi’Yalu heiress dances with millionaire Ji’Bavu bu Rani Lu’Kett at last night’s annual society ball at the Wi’Yalu family home.”

The picture was a wide shot of the dance floor where several couples decked out in tuxes and gowns were caught mid-waltz. In the center of the frame was a tall, middle-aged man—obviously the Duosien millionaire Lu’Kett—who smiled at the camera over the shoulder of his partner. Although the woman dancing with him was turned away from the viewer, her chocolate colored hair and golden-brown skin were unmistakable.

Krux felt his heart turn to ice as he scanned the main story. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much more described there. He read aloud.

“The annual society ball…always held at the main Wi’Yalu family home here in Trilanta…blah, blah, blah…the oldest daughter still unmarried…” His breath froze as he caught the last part.

The nitwit reporter went on and on about this dandy Lu’Kett and his connections before remarking on the position and standing of the Wi’Yalu and Ji’Bavu dynasties.

“Is an engagement between these two powerful families forthcoming?”
the article concluded.

Pain and anger curdled in Krux’s stomach and replaced his initial shock. Obviously, after spending night and day making love to him, Katra had sent him home so that she could go hobnob with her family’s rich friends. She hadn’t invited him to the ball last night because she had someone better to escort her—someone with a fancy name and old money who didn’t have to work for a living.

Damn her. What was he, just a fling for her? Somebody to pass the time with before she married that Duosien snob?

Despite the sick feeling rolling through him, Krux’s instincts screamed no. There was nothing false about her response to him or the look in her eyes whenever he held her in his arms. There was definitely more to their relationship than a casual affair, but that didn’t make the situation much better. Even if she did care for him, she still hadn’t thought him worthy of being introduced to her family and friends. The fact that her opinion hurt let him know just how hard he’d fallen for her.
