We stayed on the shore where we had landed and waited for the greeting party, and just hoped that it was the right greeting party. If it was some other pack on this island, and not Amelia's pack, we would have to be quick with our apologies, and would have to figure out a way to get back to the mainland. That, or shift right there on the beach and fight it out if it came to violence.

And sure enough, just half an hour later a group of five came quickly out of the forest, two men and three women, none of them looking pleased.

"What the hell do you think--" the lead man started, but he stopped mid-sentence and halted in his tracks. He looked fiery and dark, and carved from the wind and the rain that had battered us in the boat on the crossing. "Back from the dead then are you Marcus?"

"It's nice to see you too Conall."

I let out the breath I had been holding in, and backed myself away from shifting. We had found them, after all this time. Finally.

"I expect you'll be wanting to see your sister then?"

Marcus nodded and stepped forward, "yes."

Marcus had warned us that he and Conall had a history. As far as Marcus was concerned Conall was still the man that had kidnapped his sister away. That Amelia and Conall had since fallen in love and had children didn't really seem to matter to Marcus. So they weren't hugging or shaking hands, but they weren't throwing punches either. It was the best I had hoped for.

We four all followed Conall and his group back to their camp. They stayed a few yard ahead of us, and every once in awhile one or more of them would glance back. As curious as we were about them, no doubt they were fascinated by us. Amelia must have told them about Marus, and here he was now in the flesh, and with three other werewolves.

After walking for almost half an hour, Conall tapped one of the females walking with him on the shoulder, and she went jogging ahead of us.

And a few minutes later a small group came through the trees, at the front a woman that I knew from countless pictures of her that I had seen in that dusty room in the mansion in what seemed like a different world now. She was a little older, a little more weathered, but she was still beautiful.

She stopped a ways in front of Marcus and cupped her hands over her mouth in shock. "You're alive," she finally said, coming forward slowly, not seeming to really believe it. "After all these years..."

Finally, after a long moment, the two of them came together and embraced and for the first time in a very long while I saw Marcus smile, and I knew that we had made the right decision to come north, even if Marcus might still refuse to admit it.

After that introductions were made, and we got to meet Marcus' niece, and the three nephews that had come after the letters had stopped, and as Marcus was telling everyone about the circumstances of how we had ended up on their doorstep Amelia came to my side and pulled me away from the group just a little.

"Congratulations," she whispered, grinning at me.

"What do you mean?" I said.

"The scent is easy to miss, especially when it's your first time, but I'd know that smell anywhere. You're pregnant."
