He moaned out loudly as he laid his weight on top of her, still shaking in the wake of what he considered his wildest orgasm yet. And she was shivering under him whimpering every so often.
“You…you are amazing,” he said in an exhausted whisper before he kissed her shoulder.
“I was just about to say the same thing to you,” Kylie said and he gathered what was left of his energy to pull himself back so he could look down at her.
“Great minds,” he said as his cock slipped out of her and she nodded.
“Don’t leave,” she said in a whisper as he lay next to her.
“Where would I go? I’m right where I need to be.”
She smiled as he draped his arm around her gently.
“I’m exactly where I need to be,” he said again.
Chapter 7
The weekend had turned out to be better than Kylie expected. Everything about it, the award ceremony, waking up next to Sean for two days in a row…she could never have wanted anything more. But the weekend went by so much faster than she would have wanted. Given a choice, she would have never, ever wanted it to end. They had been together from Friday through to Monday but he had to leave on Monday evening because he had surgery. Kylie hated to let him go but she had to…after all, he was saving a life.
As she got ready for work on Tuesday, she could not help but feel excited. She chose to wear a white floral halter dress to work that day and a pair of flats because she knew that she would be spending a lot of time with the creative department which meant a lot of time on her feet. And the fact that her work place didn’t have a strict dress code only made things better for her. It was definitely a hell of a lot more comfortable for her to be in comfy maxi dresses rather than tight pantsuits which she knew would not flatter her figure at all.
“Maybe I should try that Ethiopian coffee,”
Kylie thought as she pulled up in front of Café Mundial. She had been dying to try it ever since that first breakfast date. But when she got there, fate had something else in store for her. She had barely climbed out of her car when she saw a familiar face walking towards her.
“Hey, Kelly right?” the woman asked and Kylie sighed. It was Danielle, Sean’s ex.
“Actually, it’s Kylie,” she corrected him.
“My bad. I’m really bad with names sometimes,” Danielle said. “So, you are an actual coffee fan? I thought you were just here the other day because of Sean. He did get me hooked on Thai.” She laughed and flipped her shiny hair over her shoulder. “You know I was strictly a Chinese food kind of person until he and I began dating and suddenly I could not go two days without craving some kao ka moo. That’s pork boiled in sweet soy sauce and has a dash of cinnamon…simply heavenly.”
Kylie shrugged.
“It was nice to see you again, Danielle.” She started walking towards the café but Danielle took a step in front of her.
“Actually,” she started flashing her a smile. “I wanted to talk to you about Sean.”
Kylie shrugged and crossed her arms over her chest.
“I don’t know what you think is going on between you two but the truth is that you are not now, nor will you ever be Sean’s type.”
Her words caught Kylie completely by surprise.
“Excuse me?” she asked.
“Yeah, I mean you are…a mass of all that and I am a model,” Danielle went on. “I wouldn’t want you to be led on or anything.”
Kylie raised an eyebrow over the other.
“Led on,” she echoed and Danielle nodded.
“I mean, what I have with Sean is real and…” she shrugged. “You know last night when I was with him, he told me that he feels sorry for you. That you are a little too into him for your own good.”
“Wait, you were with Sean last night?” Kylie asked and Danielle nodded.
“And it was beautiful. It was like nothing ever changed,” she had a dreamy look in her eyes. “Like time never moved.”
Kylie shook her head and sighed.
“This is not happening again,”
she thought before she climbed back into her car. “I have to go,” she announced to a still smiling Danielle who flipped her hair over her shoulder and walked away leaving a hurt and confused Kylie in the car. A million thoughts were going through her mind at that moment and the only thought that made sense was breaking up with him, that very moment. She reached for her phone and called him but it was off. She shook her head and dialed his practice.
“Dr. Simms please,” she said when his secretary picked up.
“I’m sorry but he is at the club.”
“What do you mean, club?” she asked.
“The sports club. He goes there every Tuesday afternoon,” the secretary said and before she could say anything else, Kylie had hang up. She strapped herself in and started her engine before she pulled out of the parking lot. Her heart was beating so hard and strong she could almost hear it.
The drive to the sports club would have been a forty-minute drive or half an hour without traffic but somehow, Kylie managed to do it in twenty. She got out of the car and walked into the club. She was either too preoccupied with her thoughts or just too pissed off to listen to the receptionist because she walked right past her and out the back to the tennis court. She looked around, her heart racing but there was no sign of Sean. That could have meant just one thing.
“He is in the locker rooms,”
she thought to herself as she made her way to the men’s locker rooms. She ignored the strange looks she got from the men standing next to their lockers as she made her way down the different isles reading the names on the lockers as she went on.
“There you are,” she said when she got to where Sean was. He turned around and looked at her surprised. He was dressed in nothing but the towel around his waist and he was obviously not expecting a woman to be in there let alone Kylie.
“Kylie…what…” he looked around and sighed exhaustedly. “What are you doing here?” he asked when he finally found his words.
“I tried calling you…your secretary told me where you were…” Kylie started before he took her hand and drew small circles at the back of her hands.
“Are you okay?” he asked and she shook her head.
“We need to talk,” she said and he looked at his almost naked body.
“Well, I hate to point it out but I am kind of in a situation…plus we have an audience.”
She looked around and noticed that almost every man in there was literally lurking.
“What is this? The cheerleading squad?” she asked loud enough for everyone to hear.
“Hey, that’s the girl from that firm that handles my PR,” one of the men said as he walked towards Kylie and Sean. Kylie shot him a look that left him frozen on the spot. “Yeah, maybe we should give you guys a minute,” he said as he began backing away. Sean put on a bathrobe.
“Come on,” Sean said as he began leading her out of the locker room.
“Where are we going?” she asked.
“My dad has a private suite here. We’ll take the service elevator.”
“You are in a bathrobe,” she said as they walked out of the fire exit.
“Yeah, and I have my keycard in my bathrobe. I can call reception to send my clothes up,” he said as he looked around before he pressed the elevator buttons. Kylie didn’t know what to say or do. All she could was just stand in there next to him trying to construct words that didn’t have any ‘F’ words in them. She made small fists so hard that’s he cracked her knuckles and she never even flinched when he looked at her.
“So,” Sean said when they were finally in the suite. “What is it that just couldn’t wait?”
She took a long deep breath and let her bag drop to the floor.
“Wait, have you been crying?” he asked when he finally looked into her eyes.
“Danielle,” she finally announced and he frowned.
“Wait, what?” he asked and she nodded.
“Your ex ambushed me in the parking lot at Café Mundial…” she started and he smiled.
“You went back to Café Mundial?” he asked leaning against the couch and she put a hand up.
“Yes, but that is not the factor here,” she said. “Apparently she came out here for you. She already knew that you were in California because she has been tracking you down.”
“What?” he asked, surprised.
“Yes, and she told me that she was with you last night.” A tear rolled down her cheek. “I knew you were too good to be true.”
“Wait, Kylie,” he started.
“I came out here to look at you when I let you know that I am the one breaking up with you,” she said.
“Kylie,” he said again.
“I should have known better,” she said as her eyes ran down his torso to the perfect ‘V’ of his pelvis.
“Kylie…wait.”
“I don’t even know why I let you talk me into coming all the way here….what the hell…”
That was it, he couldn’t let her finish that sentence. He took a step forward and took her face in his hands before he lowered his head to kiss her. She exhaled into his mouth as she felt his lips gently massaging her own and without even wanting to, she was kissing him back. Their tongues were gently caressing each other and her senses were full of his scent. When he finally pulled away, she was breathless.
“Why did you do that? I broke up with you?” she said in a soft voice.
“Well, I don’t want to break up with you,” Sean said in a whisper. “Ever.”
“But Danielle said she was with you last night,” Kylie said as she looked at him. “You told me you had to scrub in a surgery at the local hospital.”
“I did. I was,” he said. “But I think Danielle is more psycho than I ever thought.”
She shook her head and shrugged.
“What do you mean ‘psycho’?” she asked and Sean took a long deep breath.
“Remember when I told you that my last relationship was a shipwreck?” he asked.
She wanted to smile. The exact words he had used were that the ship hit an iceberg and sunk taking everyone down with it. His own version of Titanic without any love story or survivors. But this was not a situation that warranted her smile or even a quiver of the lip.
“She was fine at first but things began changing…fast. She suddenly began following me everywhere, demanding to know who I had been talking to, snooping on my phone…it was just too much. So when I told her that we were done, she actually threatened my life.”
“What?” Kylie asked, surprised.
“She even started slipping me mercury in my food but she hadn’t thought too far ahead because hey, doctor and everything, I got a full work up done…it took a while because mercury doesn’t really show up in a basic toxicity screen.” He exhaled loudly. “Turns out she is a paranoid schizophrenic and even though she got help, underneath it all she was still a little crazy ergo the checking up on me every two minutes.”
“So, she was under medication when she was doing that?” Kylie asked and he nodded.
“By the time I moved out here she was committed to a rehab,” he said.
“Wait, she didn’t get convicted?” she asked and he shook his head.
“Clinically insane. She was supposed to be there for a few more years so I don’t understand why she is out and in California to make things even worse,” he said.
“I’m so sorry…I don’t know what to say,” Kylie said.
“You don’t have to say anything because as far as this whole mess is concerned, I did see her last night.”
“Oh,” she mumbled.
“But it was not something I planned. She just showed up outside Sheffield Memorial…I didn’t plan it or anything but I did see her.” He held her waist and looked into his eyes. “I told her that I was going to take a restraining order and she told me that she is not here to cause any trouble. She said she only wanted to reconnect.”
“So, what’s going to happen now?” she asked and he pulled her to himself.
“I took the restraining order anywhere and because I knew that she was going to target you, she was in direct violation by contacting you because she was served with the papers in the morning.”
Kylie shook her head.
“I’m scared,” she said in a soft voice. And she genuinely was.
“I am not letting you out of my sight, Kylie,” he said as he held her close. “Not until I know that the long arm of the law has caught up with her.” He brought his head down and brushed her lips lightly. “But until then, you will be staying with me.”
“But…” she started but he slipped a hand to her ass and kneaded it gently making her go silent mid-sentence.
“There is no negotiating about this, here,” he whispered before he kissed her again. She slowly brought a hand up and held the back of his neck as she angled her head slightly. She pressed her forehead into his and he brought his hand up to hold a lock of her hair. “You have no idea how crazy you drive me.”
She smiled when she felt his already hard cock pressing into her thigh giving her a good idea of how crazy she drove him. She heard her phone ringing in her bag but she didn’t want to pull away from him for anything.
“Shouldn’t you get that?” he asked and she shook her head.
“It’s probably work,” she whispered. “It can wait.”
“Good,” he said as he undid the knot behind her neck that held her halter dress up making it gather around her feet. He kissed her before she had another chance to say anything. His hands were roaming all over her body, squeezing, kneading, caressing and she was moaning softly. He undid the clasp of her bra and pulled it away releasing her breasts. He looked at her and filled his hand with her right breast and she exhaled into his mouth one more time. He swept her hair to one side of her neck and pulled away from her mouth before he began kissing her neck. He worked his way down to her shoulder and then lower to take her nipple into his mouth. She inadvertently held his head against her breast and moaned out loudly. It was not just that her ideal man was having his way with her at that moment, it was also the fact that she was bunking out from work to have a nooner, something she never thought she would do. When he pulled away from her now hard nipple, he looked at her and held the side of her face.
