Another text came through on Batch’s phone.

“Shit.”

“What is it?”

“The hunter I spotted at The Den got away. Sebastian wasn’t able to find him.”

“Maybe he moved on?” I shrugged. “Vanessa isn’t here, so it’s possible.”

Batch tossed his cell onto the pile of clothes and shifted around to face me. “Maybe.”

I crawled to where he was and situated myself across his lap. My arms snaked around his neck and I pressed my lips against his, wanting to erase the worry lines forming between his brows.

“Let’s not think about it now,” I said between kisses. “How about the two of us take a shower together and have a little soapy fun instead?”

“Mmmm… Sounds like my kind of fun.” He cupped my ass as he lifted us up into a standing position and started toward the bathroom.

I licked and nibbled along the side of his neck. “So, are you free tomorrow? There’s a little shopping I think we need to do.” I motioned to my ring finger.

“Darlin’, I’m all yours.” He kicked the bathroom door open wider and stepped inside, then slammed it shut and locked it before carrying me into the tiled shower.

My back pressed against the cool tiles as he fumbled to close the curtain and turn the water on without removing his lips from mine. Contentment settled over me like a warm blanket as his mouth continued to work over mine, and I couldn’t think of anywhere else I’d rather have been.

Batch had always been mine, and I had always been his—we’d just been too stubborn to admit it. Until now. Now we could spend the rest of our forever together.
